Coming from a coastal bike ride which started from Del Mar on our way back we decided to check this place out. This place place is your straight forward donut shop. Coming in we didn't know what to expect. I am used to donut shops with a variety of offerings. That is not the case here. You have a choice of your traditional glazed, maple, chocolate, and sprinkle donuts. Figuring I had burned enough calories for a bear claw I asked for one but I was told that they didn't have any. I had to think fast on my feet and opted for the chocolate donut. I got a cup of coffee and enjoyed my chocolate donut out on the patio with my cycling buddies. The coffee was your average variety (who are we kidding here, this was a Donut shop after all right) and as I bit on my chocolate donut I can tell that it is freshly made. 07.08.2013 Hubby told us to stop by here for donuts after we dropped him off at work at 6:00 am. Little "O" came down and got a chocolate bar for herself...as huge as her arm! She surprised me by eating half of it. I got hubby a lemon filled donut and a raisin bran muffin for me. Usually by the end of the day a donut gets hard when sitting around not being eaten. When little "O" ate her leftover chocolate bar before dinner and gave me the last piece/bite, I was impressed how soft the donut was. YUM! My raisin bran muffin lasted a day and a half because it was SO huge! I ate 1/3 for breakfast, 1/3 for a snack the same day then the last 1/3 the following morning. My hubby ate his lemon-filled donut the next day. Of course I tasted it also and it was still moist and the lemon filling was actually tart and lemony, not just sugary. read more
