Genuinely confused how this place has four stars. While the donuts look cute, I've had better donuts at a gas station or purchased from a grocery store. The flavors were incredibly artificial, and the donut batter itself was very dense and left much to be desired.

They look better than they taste.

The donuts here are "just okay". They fit the bill if you want something sweet as there's not enough dessert options at the food hall. I tried 6 flavors; my top two were the churro and maple glazed. They were not as cake-like as anticipated; they're spongy and slightly mushy. I'll go on a limb and say that Hostess powdered donuts are better than these as far as texture (ingredients here are probably only slightly better). My favorite mini donuts are the hot ones at Gulls games; I think I was let down because I wanted something as good as those. The girl working disappeared for a good amount of time and returned playing on her phone and chatting up a guy who stood close-by. She was polite enough. Overall, I would probably skip this next time but it was worth trying once. Pros: - presentation - churro is decent (anything not glazed basically) Cons: - pricey - not the best texture - glazes taste artificial

We vistied the Windmill Food Hall for a treat after we spent a few hours at Legoland - the Windmill was literally minutes away. It was a cute stall with a display of mini donuts in their case. There was a line & it went by fairly fast. Service was great! We were greeted and asked how our day was and what brought us in. We did missed out on some of the flavors that sold, but still a solid selection for the kids to chose from. We ended up getting 2 dozens of minis to share with our families. We enjoyed them. The texture was good; they were light and fluffy. We loved that they are mini sized so we could try many flavors.

I like these tiny donuts. My friend and I came here because of the too good to go app and they gave us a box of day old mini donuts. They were a little melty, but for $5 bucks it was a steal. I do rather have their donuts fresh, but if you're on a budget and want sweets this works. The lady that works here is hard of hearing so please speak up so she can hear you. This location is in the windmill food hall. We came early in the morning so it was empty, but it's usually pretty busy on the weekends or at night. Lines are never long.

Cute little donuts but they're not good and some tasted stale. The flavors we tried six different flavors the glazed flavor ones tasted really artificial. I would go for original glaze or churro. The service is quick but they are in the back until you ring the bell.

These are super cute donuts, they are cake donuts to be specific and right now it's Halloween time with cute Halloween decorated donuts. I liked the taste of the frosted ones!

I was randomly craving donuts and this was the only place in the area. It was a bit difficult to find until I realized it was located inside the windmill food hall. Decided to pick a dozen to try several flavors and since they were bite sized I didn't feel too guilty. I'm not an old fashioned donut fan but these were good. They were soft and fluffy The young lady behind the counter was nice and packed our donuts with care.

I got these for my little one 1st birthday for the dessert table. The donuts were fun, vibrant and it looks super cute. We did the 36 minis and had other dessert, so there were options. The frosting on the donuts were different and for a little packed donut, it was super sweet. So be prepare for a sweet treat! One thing is they hire a third party to deliver. The delivery process wasn't the greatest!

Loved all the flavors we got! I wish there was something in between 12 and 25. Like an option for 18 maybe? Service was quick despite the busy afternoon

This donut shop is located in the Windmill food hall. It's a small stall near the library seating area. The mini donuts are adorable and there are many flavors to choose from. I ordered 12 for my family to share and pretty much chose 1 of everything that was left at 7pm. The donuts were pretty bland. They weren't soft nor were they cakey or stale either. They just didn't taste very good. Almost all the flavors tasted the same. Very disappointed at the taste. Girl helping grab my order was quick and efficient.

Needed a little sweet treat after lunch and this place did not disappoint! My only regret is not getting more mini donuts because once you've had a few, you will surely want more. The mini donut company has solved for my biggest problem as a donut lover: I always want to try several flavors and yet, cannot eat ten full size donuts at a time. I can eat 10 mini donuts though! I split a 12 pack with my family and immediately wished I had purchased more. I got churro, raspberry vanilla, glazed, and fruit pebbles. Everything was so good! The only thing that could have put it a bit over the top was if the donuts were a bit warmed up. They were definitely fresh but they weren't super warm. My only sadness is this place is not close to where I live so I don't know how soon I'll be back but I recommend if you're visiting Carlsbad!

We saw this stall at the windmill market and were ensnared by its novelty and cuteness. Unfortunately the flavor and quality did not match- the donuts were stale tasting, the frosting was very artificial, and for the price we were disappointed. Really cute idea, but maybe work on the recipe a bit?

The perfect small desert! I especially liked the strawberry sprinkle which I normally don't like at all. It was my favorite. I would have given this experience a 5 except that the service was slow and not very helpful. It would be nice to have a little more enthusiasm in flavor selection recommendations especially for a first time visitor.

They have a little water stand you can get some water from too which was nice after chowing down on the donut. The donut itself was so good. Right amount of fluffiness and taste and crispiness. I smiled and commented on the donuts and that broke their gossipy reverie. One immediately walked away like she couldn't be bothered to work, only a paid gossiper. There was no one in the store other than me. She rung me up with a flat attitude like she just got out of jail and was miserable. Her name is Bre. I ordered a dirty chai. With two other items. She wouldn't give a to go box like they usually do. It came off super cheap. She told me to just cover it with a lid even tho I told her I had a dog in the car that would eat it and it was chocolate sprinkle. Traditionally they stop and make the coffee and then move on to the next guest. She was in a really bad mood so she kept taking donut orders until about 5 guests deep. Then she got 2 other coffee orders so she stopped to make coffee. About 10 to 15 minutes after I paid for my other order she makes my dirty chai. A kid and a mom are right by the counter. The kid grabs my drink and spills it on the counter and on the floor. She sees this. It's right in front of her. She says oh no that's not yours. Then she wipes it off and tries to pass it off to me like I didn't see. I said no, you're not going to re make it? She goes no, it's not my fault he spilled it. I was like I want a refund. She goes why. I'm like the drink spilled and you didn't even offer or try to remake it. This place had really gone downhill. Service is awful. The donuts look nice but they've been sitting out and are stale. The same with crossaint I had. I would not go back here anymore. Awful experience. Drove out of my way to come here today. It's a shame. This place used to be really friendly and fresh and top of the line customer service, Management needs to rework things before they completely go downhill but it seems they are already there.

Luckily, we found a parking spot nearby and we were able to explore around the area. This time, we were able to walk around to see what else was located nearby. While walking down Coast Highway, we saw some large advertisements for Broad Street Doughnuts. The photos were colorful and we were in the mood to try something new. We had never heard of Broad Street Doughnuts, so we were hoping that these would be delicious. Broad Street Doughnuts is located off of PCH, in the city of Encinitas. This is their only location on the west coast. They have 3 other locations in New Jersey, so it's great that they opened up a shop out here. They share a parking lot with other businesses, so parking is relatively easy. Their doughnuts are made to order. You will not get that stale, day old taste when you take your first bite. They are fried up after you place your order and then the toppings are applied. It beats staring are doughnuts through a case and ordering what may have been sitting there for hours on end. The menu is on the wall and it's totally visual. Each combo is displayed in a vivid photo. You can select from those or from the doughnuts that are near the register. The doughnuts at the front counter are not featured on the visual menu, so you may need to ask about their toppings/combos. I got a classic rainbow sprinkled doughnuts, along with a half glazed and half chocolate sprinkled doughnut. We also ordered a cotton candy doughnut that had what looked like dried out cotton candy. Delicious!!!! These doughnuts were light and fluffy. They were warm to the touch and incredibly fresh. They are a bit smaller in size, when compared to an average size doughnut. They seem prefect in size because you could walk the calories off while exploring around Encinitas. Broad Street Doughnuts was a pleasant surprise. Sometimes the visual representation isn't always an indicator of how good the product will be. In this case, the product lived up to the visual representation. We have passed by Broad Street Doughnuts many times, and finally had an opportunity to stop by. We were pleasantly surprised with both the product and how friendly the staff were with all of the customers. We will definitely be back when we are back in the area!

I was hesitant to get the Blueberry Cheesecake because I saw the giant blob of cream on top but it was more like whip cream than actual cheesecake and sweet enough to compliment a doughnut without being heavy and overly sweet like actual cheesecake. The Carlsbad Bakery has been around for 40+ years specializing in Danish and French pastries, quiche, cupcakes, cakes, and too many eye-popping things to list. We walked over on a Friday and after talking to the proprietor decided that a variety of cookies would be the way to go. What wasn't easy was deciding what type of cookie, because their big chocolate chip, pistachio, almond, cherry, and peanut butter cookies all looked beyond amazing. We decided on a box of 20 mixed cookies ($52.90) and returned the next day to pick them up. My Sweet Lord, the box was as heavy as a bowling ball and was warm with freshly baked cookies. The intoxicating aroma penetrated the carton and filled our hotel room. When they were served at dinner, people's eyes popped out of their heads because they were so gorgeous. I managed to restrain myself and limited my dessert to one pistachio cookie that was fantastic. Of course, all of my cousins wanted to know where we found these amazing cookies.
