The carrot cookie had nuts in it which I'm not used too and it was a bit hard. Lemon was a more popular cookie among buyers. I also ordered a sandwich, Tomato & Burrata. I asked if I could get extra arugula and the person behind the stand said "it's weighed so I can't add extra". That's a real disappointment, usually that would be an acceptable request elsewhere. Why is okay to omit an ingredient but when you request just for a little extra you get denied. For that they loose a star rating on me. I even gave him a tip.. The sandwich tasted great but the portion size was too small for my liking, especially for the price and the basic ingredients. You're really just buying their name brand. This is the newest So Cal location, and the fourth Levain location I've been to. I ordered some of my go to cookie flavors. I enjoyed the flavor combinations of the Caramel Coconut Chocolate Chip Cookie (5 stars), Chocolate Chip Walnut (4 stars), and Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip (4 stars). The Lemon Cookie (2 stars) became one of my favorite cookies when I previously got it at the Larchmont and Venice locations. This one tasted dry as if it was over baked or over mixed. The disappointing texture distracted from the signature lemon flavor that I regretted ordering two. The service (3 stars) was quick, but it was not friendly as the other locations. I expected more from the quality of service and cookies as a Levain fan. Walking around Beverly Hills and stumbled across Levain Bakery and decided to give it a try. My boyfriend and I got the double dark chocolate chip cookie and the two chip chocolate chip cookie and they were just okay. First time trying Levain and it did not disappoint. Even though I knew the cookies were huge, I was still taken by surprise just how hefty it was. I got the two chip chocolate chip cookie and the dark chocolate chip cookie, as well as a mocha with oat milk ($1 extra). The cookies were AMAZING, I especially enjoyed the dark chocolate chip cookie. They were crunchy on the outside, a little soft on the inside with ooey gooey melty chocolate chips. But it's all about the sweets. My favorites are the signature Chocolate Chip Walnut, which oozes with chips and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter chips. Love the limited flavor White Chocolate Macadamia, too. The other limited Dark Chocolate Peppermint, Good to try something new but the mint flavor overpowers the chocolate. The Oatmeal Raisin scone is very good and big, like their cookies. The scone was crunchy on the outside, crumbly on the inside, not cakey. Great price, too, for $4.25. They have other pastries but their cookies are irresistible. Service was great and personable. You can either order from an employee or use an iPad (after downloading an app I think). And now they have a few sandwiches, which looked appetizing! Here's a huge plus - parking is a breeze! Pleasantly surprised by the free two-hour parking garage on the same side of the street. A friend had these cookies delivered to him and he was raving about all the flavors that he tried. I checked out their site and saw a couple I would consider trying, so when I saw the storefront over on Bevelry-across from Chaumont-it was a no-brainer to try them out. Looking around, I decided to go with the: -dark chocolate peanut butter chip -two chip chocolate chip -chocolate chip brioche These cookies are BIG. There is a lot to them, so the price is almost worth the size of the cookie alone. I couldn't finish any of these in one sitting. To be honest, I thought they were okay; but I did favor the dark chocolate peanut butter one. As for the brioche, I would skip this; didn't really enjoy this at all but it did look good which is what made me cave in. Other options are flatbreads and sandwiches, and the tomato parmesan flatbread looked particularly good, something to possibly try next time. Yes and don't regret it because it wasn't any other Friday! It was Levain's Grand Opening at 8am! I lined up at 7am and was already about the 25th in line! It didn't feel like I waited an hour, with so much good community vibes, everyone was socializing and talking to each other. The staff was super nice and making conversation with everyone. The ribbon cutting was also fun to watch, as I'm sure all the staff were proud of that moment after so much hard work. For the first 100 people got a swag tote bag that said "I heart Beverly Hills", that contained a branded dad hat, stickers, keychain, and socks. For the first few in line, a manager came out and offered coffee and lattes which was very nice. So $6 for a cookie?! I was skeptical it's not just any cookie, it's a big cookie that's crunchy in the outside and soft in the inside. It's my fav kind of cookie! As someone who loves anything fall flavored, this cookie was just a complete miss for me. It tasted like a completely flavorless chocolate chip cookie and had a different texture compared to the regular chocolate chip cookie. I would definitely pass on that one. But just because one flavor was a miss, doesn't mean they don't have other good cookies! The White Chocolate Chip Macadamia Nut cookie was HEAVENLY! I usually hate nuts, but the macadamia nuts added a perfect nutty butteryness to the cookie. I also love their Oatmeal Raisin and Chocolate Chip Walnut staple cookies. They were simply too messy and not enjoyable to finish. We also ordered both ice cream flavors available that night, vanilla and ube. While the ice cream itself seemed to be of good quality, the flavors didn't really stand out. Personally, I would still choose Beverly Hills Cookie across the street any day as their flavor selection, quality, and overall experience are on another level. Even Bristol Farms' cookie remains my gold standard for what a perfect cookie should be. Where I felt most disappointed was with the service. The staff came across as impatient and not particularly welcoming, which really stood out in a Beverly Hills setting. At the New York location, the atmosphere feels fun and inviting, but here it felt quite the opposite. The overall culture of the employees does not really match the community they are in. One detail that really left a poor impression was when the server scooped ice cream, spending several minutes adding and subtracting tiny amounts just to hit an exact weight. It came across as unnecessarily stingy. On top of that, there were no ice cream samples allowed, and when we asked to warm the cookies, they reacted in a way that made us feel like an inconvenience to the staff.
