I've been to Diddy Riese once before and both times the service was great. I enjoy the cookies and the ice cream separately but as a sandwich it doesn't stay together when I take a bite. Plus two cookies is a bit much for me. Although it's not my fave ice cream in the area, it's definitely worth a visit. They should do something about the homeless guy blocking the entrance and cursing at customers.

The cookie prices are fair at $0.75 in 2026 and the day old dozen for $4.50 is a great deal. Today's fresh baked are tomorrow's day old , so they taste the same.

Dad and I come here sometimes when he's in town. Honestly you can't beat the price and if I were a UCLA student, I'd be here all the time. Sometimes there's a line out the door, other times (like this time), we were the only ones there. The price is hella affordable. Cookies are soft and they offer a good variety of flavors. I don't remember them having brownies before but this time they definitely did. There are two kinds of brownies: regular and one with nuts. Will be back again some time within the coming months.

Must try new flavor - Ube. Smooth, creamy, great ube flavor. The cinnamon cookies are great. Friendly service, let me try a few flavors before deciding.

Still one of the best deals in Westwood!

Glad to see the iconic Diddy Riese Cookies is still operating in Westwood after all these years! Each cookie is now 75 cents (they were 25 cents apiece in the 90's) but that's still the best deal in Westwood. Same flavors as I remember from back in the day (choco chip, chocolate chocolate chip, M&M, cinnamon sugar, peanut butter, white chocolate macadamia nut (higher cost for these). You can also still get an ice cream sammy made with a scoop of Dreyer's ice cream and freshly made cookies. My friends and I agreed that the cookies are smaller than we remember. But the nostalgia is off the charts! Go Bruins!!

Cookies and cream with chocolate chip and m&m cookies

TL;DR - still here and doing well! Got the cookies and cream between an m&m cookie and chocolate chip cookie. $5 a piece now compared to 10+ years ago. Line still goes out the door and still an amazing time. I decided to drop by Diddy Riese after not having it for 5+ years. I was so happy to see the store alive and doing well. In fact, VERY well. There was a line that went right out the door by the time we got our food to find a place to sit. Their famous ice cream cookie sandwiches are now $5 each. A little over a decade ago, these weren't even $2 each (oh how the times have changed). Either way, the experience was the same and it was such a treat to have it again. We got the cookies and cream sandwiched between an m&m cookie and a chocolate chip cookie. Given the size, a spoon was mandatory. We probably came too late in the day because the cookies weren't fresh anymore. They were on the hard and dry side but I was still happy to have it. The service is super fast. The ambiance is loud given it's a small shop with a lot of visitors. Seating is limited so don't be surprised if you find yourself with no other option but to walk around Westwood Village as you enjoy these tasty sandwiches.

Went here for the first time since I started working in the area. The place was clean, staff, friendly, and the food looks delicious. I was hesitant at first when I saw it to come in since many of the cookie places nowadays are really expensive. But it was great to find out that there's were very reasonable in price. For what you get it's a great value. I tried the chocolate chip, chocolate, chocolate chip, peanut butter, and white chocolate macadamia nut. I purchased all of those to take home since they were very delicious. My favorite cookie is the peanut butter. They actually have real nuts inside their peanut butter cookie, which makes it really delicious. If you're in the area, I'd give them a try. Great prices for tasty cookies.

I loved this spot! First of all, I think the prices are great! Super reasonable. Secondly, the service was quick and friendly! There was a line, but it went by so fast! And lastly, I loved my cookie and I loved my ice cream! They have so many different options to choose from, and for the cookie sandwich you don't have to stick to one flavor. You could get two different types of cookies for it if you'd like, which I thought was neat. There isn't dine-in space, it's a takeout spot so just fyi!

Such a nogalgstic place! Made a trip to my birth city and stopped by Diddy Riese in Westwood which has been open since 1983. I have wonderful memories when I was young of visiting Diddy Riese to get cookies after movies in Westwood. Cookies are affordable and tasty. I want to try everything on the menu. Service with a smile. The place is happy and bright. I checked out their website prior to traveling to Los Angeles and was happy to see they are still open after all these years. I am sure your store and cookies bring happiness to me many generations. Cheers!~

Loved coming here! They have a line queue, but it went real quick. The cookies were good and the ice cream was yummy! You can make your own ice cream sandwich. My boys also loved the shave ice. Very cute place!

Back when I went to UCLA, the cookies here were 4 for $1. They are now 4 for $3. That's inflation at work! Still very cheap compared to other dessert shops though. The cookie here are so so. I don't think they are as good as other places where the inside of the cookie is chewy. I like that texture better. The shaved ice with ice cream was a great deal and really good. There is a small bar ledge to eat on if you want to stay and eat in the shop. Most people just get it and eat outside.

At Diddy Riese today at around 12'30pm. There was a line but it moved very fast.

Often stop at Diddy Riese when I am in Westwood Village. Always get some oatmeal raisin cookies with walnuts. They are very good. Sometimes think about trying some of the many other cookies but somehow always end up getting oatmeal raisin cookies with walnuts. There is often a long line outside waiting to get some cookies. The line usually moves very fast, as it did today. Maybe next time will be the time I get some of the many other types of cookies.

Diddy Riese is proof that happiness can be baked and sold for a few bucks. Worth every crumb and every minute in line.

I need those cookies on Tuesday which they dont open. If I buy them on Sunday, how can i keep them fresh until Tuesday?? or any suggestion :)

If you buy them on Sunday, you can freeze them until you need them. Take them out of the freezer about an hour before you plan to serve them.

Do they have any sugar free options?

This is a strong no 😕

When do they stop accepting orders for the next day? I called at 7 and the guy on the phone told me to call the next day at 8am, but they aren't even open at 8.

They are not open at 8, but they are there baking for the day. They stop taking orders at 4 PM.

    Not at this time.

Do you guys have cookies and cream cookies?

Yes they have a descent variety

Do you have any vegan options?

I was wondering the same thing so we went down there yesterday to check it out. We are vegetarian and don't eat eggs and we were told that both the cookies and the ice cream has eggs. It's unfortunate but they don't have any vegan options ?

So obviously we had to get some. Verdict - yes, it absolutely was as good as I remembered. I wouldn't go back to DTLA just for ice cream, Long Beach Creamery being walking distance and wonderful, but I would absolutely stop here if I were back in DTLA and wanted ice cream. It's a bit pricey, but all craft ice cream is going to be, and it is definitely craft.
