I wanted to update my review since it has been so long. After spending a day Santa Monica the person I was with asked if I wanted Diddy Riese. We made the drive here for some of their popular ice cream sandwiches. Although quality isn't the best you can't knock them since they are so affordable compared to everywhere else. I think an ice cream sandwich with one scoop is like $5. And you get to choose which type of cookies and ice cream. I went with their butter pecan, a cinnamon sugar and oatmeal raisin with walnut. The oatmeal raisin cookie was not it for me. The cinnamon sugar cookie tho was my favorite. The ice cream itself lacked in creaminess but for the price you cannot beat. While we were there they had a seasonal black sesame one which was really good and I highly recommend if you enjoy black sesame and they still offer it. We also got a walnut brownie which was super good compared to their cookies. We ended up getting 2 ice cream sandwiches, 10 mixed cookies, and a brownie for about $20. What a steal! Besides ice cream, cookies, and brownies, they also have their shaved iced. But overall their menu is pretty simple. The service was pretty quick. There's usually a line but it goes quick bc they have a lot of people working. We got lucky with meter street parking right in front.

As you may have figured it out by the name, Diddy sells cookies, and lots of it at a very low price. It's at a perfect location within minutes from UCLA, and they have been here for many years. There are no seating inside and a few chairs outside. At times, there's a long line, but it moves fast. The cookie choices are listed on the menu board and they're all on display behind the glass case. You can either buy cookies or opt for an ice cream sandwich. As of May, 2026 most of the cookies are just $.75. They're not the best obviously but they're not bad. I tried white chocolate chip, peanut butter, dark, chocolate, cinnamon sugar, a.k.a. snickerdoodle and a chocolate chip walnut cookie. I'd say my favorite was the cinnamon sugar, which usually isn't my first choice. The service is friendly and fast. I told them what I want they grabbed it put it in a bag and I'm done. If you're near Westwood, or visiting someone at UCLA, Diddy Riese is a good spot to load up on some cookies and perhaps get an ice cream sandwich. Parking depends on day of week, or time of day. There are some parking lots nearby or metered street parking.

Yumm! Orders this on DoorDash for delivery and I should have gotten more! I only ordered half dozen with our ice cream sandwiches. Cookies were soft and fresh! Not tooooo sweet. Service was quick. We would love to see the place if we come back to Cali but I heard there's only lines there. Casual ambience.

I've been to Diddy Riese once before and both times the service was great. I enjoy the cookies and the ice cream separately but as a sandwich it doesn't stay together when I take a bite. Plus two cookies is a bit much for me. Although it's not my fave ice cream in the area, it's definitely worth a visit. They should do something about the homeless guy blocking the entrance and cursing at customers.

Dad and I come here sometimes when he's in town. Honestly you can't beat the price and if I were a UCLA student, I'd be here all the time. Sometimes there's a line out the door, other times (like this time), we were the only ones there. The price is hella affordable. Cookies are soft and they offer a good variety of flavors. I don't remember them having brownies before but this time they definitely did. There are two kinds of brownies: regular and one with nuts. Will be back again some time within the coming months.

The cookie prices are fair at $0.75 in 2026 and the day old dozen for $4.50 is a great deal. Today's fresh baked are tomorrow's day old , so they taste the same.

Still one of the best deals in Westwood!

Glad to see the iconic Diddy Riese Cookies is still operating in Westwood after all these years! Each cookie is now 75 cents (they were 25 cents apiece in the 90's) but that's still the best deal in Westwood. Same flavors as I remember from back in the day (choco chip, chocolate chocolate chip, M&M, cinnamon sugar, peanut butter, white chocolate macadamia nut (higher cost for these). You can also still get an ice cream sammy made with a scoop of Dreyer's ice cream and freshly made cookies. My friends and I agreed that the cookies are smaller than we remember. But the nostalgia is off the charts! Go Bruins!!

Must try new flavor - Ube. Smooth, creamy, great ube flavor. The cinnamon cookies are great. Friendly service, let me try a few flavors before deciding.

Cookies and cream with chocolate chip and m&m cookies

TL;DR - still here and doing well! Got the cookies and cream between an m&m cookie and chocolate chip cookie. $5 a piece now compared to 10+ years ago. Line still goes out the door and still an amazing time. I decided to drop by Diddy Riese after not having it for 5+ years. I was so happy to see the store alive and doing well. In fact, VERY well. There was a line that went right out the door by the time we got our food to find a place to sit. Their famous ice cream cookie sandwiches are now $5 each. A little over a decade ago, these weren't even $2 each (oh how the times have changed). Either way, the experience was the same and it was such a treat to have it again. We got the cookies and cream sandwiched between an m&m cookie and a chocolate chip cookie. Given the size, a spoon was mandatory. We probably came too late in the day because the cookies weren't fresh anymore. They were on the hard and dry side but I was still happy to have it. The service is super fast. The ambiance is loud given it's a small shop with a lot of visitors. Seating is limited so don't be surprised if you find yourself with no other option but to walk around Westwood Village as you enjoy these tasty sandwiches.

Went here for the first time since I started working in the area. The place was clean, staff, friendly, and the food looks delicious. I was hesitant at first when I saw it to come in since many of the cookie places nowadays are really expensive. But it was great to find out that there's were very reasonable in price. For what you get it's a great value. I tried the chocolate chip, chocolate, chocolate chip, peanut butter, and white chocolate macadamia nut. I purchased all of those to take home since they were very delicious. My favorite cookie is the peanut butter. They actually have real nuts inside their peanut butter cookie, which makes it really delicious. If you're in the area, I'd give them a try. Great prices for tasty cookies.

Such a nogalgstic place! Made a trip to my birth city and stopped by Diddy Riese in Westwood which has been open since 1983. I have wonderful memories when I was young of visiting Diddy Riese to get cookies after movies in Westwood. Cookies are affordable and tasty. I want to try everything on the menu. Service with a smile. The place is happy and bright. I checked out their website prior to traveling to Los Angeles and was happy to see they are still open after all these years. I am sure your store and cookies bring happiness to me many generations. Cheers!~

I loved this spot! First of all, I think the prices are great! Super reasonable. Secondly, the service was quick and friendly! There was a line, but it went by so fast! And lastly, I loved my cookie and I loved my ice cream! They have so many different options to choose from, and for the cookie sandwich you don't have to stick to one flavor. You could get two different types of cookies for it if you'd like, which I thought was neat. There isn't dine-in space, it's a takeout spot so just fyi!

Loved coming here! They have a line queue, but it went real quick. The cookies were good and the ice cream was yummy! You can make your own ice cream sandwich. My boys also loved the shave ice. Very cute place!

Ask the Community - Diddy Riese Cookies

    Is parking free?

They don't have any dedicated parking, unfortunately. It's pretty much metered street parking, if it's available.

What shortening do they use to make the cookies?

Do they offer any organic or nonGMO varieties?

    No.

    Is it still cash only?

No. They accept credit cards now

    Any Gluten Free options yet?

    No. I've asked.

Any chance you can do some dairy free ice cream? Dreyers makes a few different kinds.

    No.

Do they have non dairy ice cream?

    No.

    Anything vegan offered here?

    They do not

I need those cookies on Tuesday which they dont open. If I buy them on Sunday, how can i keep them fresh until Tuesday?? or any suggestion :)

If you buy them on Sunday, you can freeze them until you need them. Take them out of the freezer about an hour before you plan to serve them.

Do they have any sugar free options?

This is a strong no 😕

When do they stop accepting orders for the next day? I called at 7 and the guy on the phone told me to call the next day at 8am, but they aren't even open at 8.

They are not open at 8, but they are there baking for the day. They stop taking orders at 4 PM.

Do they have gluten free cookies?

    Not at this time.

What kind of ice cream do they use... is it Thrifty's?

nooo! Dreyer's Ice Cream! you cant go wrong! wish there was on in OC! cant drive far anymore due to anxiety but enjoy one for me! lol

Do you guys have cookies and cream cookies?

Yes they have a descent variety

Do you have any vegan options?

I was wondering the same thing so we went down there yesterday to check it out. We are vegetarian and don't eat eggs and we were told that both the cookies and the ice cream has eggs. It's unfortunate but they don't have any vegan options ?

It's relatively busy but the line moved swiftly. The Larchmont store was pretty lively with the crowded and colorful wall deco! It's pretty fun to see that they came up with more seasonal items lately and most of them nailed it well when they came to cookies. Previously the lemon one and the most recent was the Raspberry Pistachio which I was impressed by as I just fancied sweet and refreshing combo of white chocolate and raspberry. The pistachio added more texture to it for sure. Same as any Levain cookies, best enjoyed warm and fresh out of oven. The Cookie Milk Latte was actually the main reason bringing me here, yet I was bit let down by it as I was expecting more malty cookie flavor in the drink. I felt it tasted not much different to regular cream top latte with some cookie crumbles in it.

Delicious drinks and creative pastries!…read more Tried Fondry LA and the matcha vanilla pistachio drink was definitely the highlight--so delicious and perfectly sweet without needing any sweetness adjustment. Easily my favorite thing I tried! The tofu cream croissant toast was airy and light, with a creamy topping that wasn't overly sweet. The mushroom béchamel was savory and good. I only got it because my brother suggested it. Normally I would not seek mushroom pastries even though I like mushrooms. The yuzu meringue croiffin was good, but I am not used to tart flavors in croissant/pastry combination. The cafe is very tiny, with only one table for seating, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot. There are seats outside. I also wanted to try the black sesame pastry, but didn't see it available when I visited. I'd definitely go back to try it. The drink was the standout for me!

The key is to go on a weekday to avoid the line, as the weekend can definitely get busy. This last time I finally got to try the tofu cream topped croissant, which was ~to die for~. I also tried the pistachio croissant and asparagus danish this time round and both were extremely good as well. I would have no qualms with re-ordering either. The only note is the pistachio cream is pretty runny, so it's hard to cut and share, as the cream just oozes out. The workers there are super friendly and kind. The drinks are also very good if you're looking to get a little extra treat as well.
