I was craving a nice salad and decided to check this place out. The sandwiches looked really good but I stuck with getting a Large Southwest Salad and a Strawberry Mango Smoothie. The difference between the 2 salad sizes is $1 so made sense to just get the large. It was a good size salad but would've been perfect if it had cilantro and/or some scallions. They actually forgot smoothie at 1st and I had to find them to make it. The place itself is a good size with both indoor and outdoor seating. They also sell some baked goods and coffee. I loved this place when they first opened. Everything was fresh and tasted great. I went a few weeks ago. Got the Greek salad. Didn't agree with me at all. I gave it another chance last week. I am updating my previous 5-star review to 1 star after my last three consecutive orders have been deeply disappointing. The quality here has significantly declined. On my previous visits, the food was prepared by the owner or their family members, and the sandwiches were excellent--high quality and generously filled. Lately, it seems a younger employee is making the sandwiches, and they are not being prepared correctly. I understand the economy is tough, but when customers spend their hard-earned money to support a local business and treat themselves, they shouldn't be consistently dissatisfied. Today, I ordered a pesto sandwich and a smoked turkey sandwich, specifically paying extra for additional meat because I had noticed a trend of skimpy portions. Unfortunately, as you can see in the comparison photos, both arrived with barely any meat at all. I actually called the restaurant to address this. The young man on the phone sounded embarrassed but told me there was nothing he could do and instructed me to contact DoorDash. I am sharing this--along with the side-by-side photos of how great the pesto sandwich used to be versus what is being made now--in the sincere hope that it helps the management improve their standards rather than discourage them. I found this place nestled in a small shopping nook near apartments and residential homes. Service was friendly, the atmosphere is chill, and a nice outside dinning on a sunny day out. Their menu consists of sandwiches, soups, and salad which all sounds scrumptious. I just settled for turkey and provolone (small) which was just enough to fill my hunger. I lived in the city for 20 years and one of the first things I looked for when I moved back was a decent sandwich shop. Subways is just awful and can only do it in an emergency. Joe's Buffet is great but it has a very limited menu and short hours. I started off at Togos, then I moved on to Sourdough and Co, which costs an arm and a leg a leg unless you got some kinda deal going on. Like a large sandwich, chips and drink will set you back like $25. Saw Levain on a food app and decided to try it out. It's definitely the best sandwich in the Fairfield/Suisun area. It doesn't compare to North Beach's Italian sandwiches, or the wharf's crab sandwiches, but for the burbs it's pretty good. It's my go to sandwich place now. read more

Takeaway salad really bad brown wilted lettuce like it was cut and put in the bowl two days prior. I've had the same salad inside the restaurant multiple times. It was great the only other time I ordered takeout it was the same quality. I don't know if they are packaging the lettuce in the bowl, ahead of time and then just adding the toppings that's what I'm assuming. It's hit or miss sometimes with this place. The sandwiches I like But sometimes it seems like the meat is not as filling as other times. Close to my work office which is cool. This place was so good. I am happy there's a good sandwich place close to home. We ordered the bbq sandwich, tomato soup, cookie, latte and lemonade. I can't even begin to describe the flavors and freshness. I would say this is a 4.5ish establishment but considering others have rated it so low I figured I'd do it justice since it's definitely rated higher than its showing. Portions were decent. We have to keep in mind that EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE is expensive these days. You can't even go to McDonald's without spending 25-30 bucks. That said, this place was priced appropriately for the type of food they are serving. Everything was fresh and it had cohesiveness. My only recommendation would be for them to work on their customer greeting? Not sure how to say it but the service was good yet needed that special touch that makes you feel welcomed and invited to come back. The sandwich paper smelled weird, but the sandwich was good. I got the turkey pesto with all the sauces. They charge for everything: to size up and all the extra fillings! We placed our order after having a chance to read the big menu in front of the register. Here's what we got: * 6"/medium size caprese salami sandwich ($12.99) - my fiancé got it on sourdough and said it was really good! He had the option to order it hot or cold and went with hot. * 8"/large size BBQ brisket sandwich ($13.99) - I got it with Dutch crunch and loved it! I was full after finishing this. * 12 oz bowl clam chowder ($9.99) - flavorful and not too salty! Loved how it came with 4 slices of sourdough. The sourdough was warm and chewy and had the perfect bite. I enjoyed dunking the bread into the chowder. * Oatmeal raisin cookie ($2.89) - chewy, sweet, and pretty big! Just how I like my oatmeal raisin cookies. * Chocolate chip cookie ($2.89) - didn't get to try it, but my fiancé said it was good! The crave for a sandwich was strong this morning and I was quite interested in the Dutch crunch bread that Levain had to offer. I came in around 0830 on a Monday morning and was the only customer for the morning. The cashier was very friendly since I asked what they'd recommend - it was between the turkey pesto or the bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. I opted for the BLT with Dutch crunch. I didn't have any expectations but was pleasantly surprised by the sauce that they used. It's similar to an aioli with a kick which is was totally not what I was expecting. The sandwich was good, I probably would try the italian over the BLT. The dining area was large and clean. Parking was easy and there are EV charging a little walk away. read more

On one lazy afternoon, when I didn't feel like cooking lunch, my sister reminded me of Levain Bread, since I told her I was craving a sandwich. She told me that their food is pretty good and not as expensive as Panera Bread, which is always a plus. Since I didn't feel like doing anything, due to being sick, I decided to order my sandwich and my daughter's lunch to be delivered to us. The food is actually really good! I believe I ordered the turkey and cheese sandwich with various vegetables. They add a good amount of lettuce, tomatoes, and whatever else I asked to be added, which reminded me of Togo's sandwiches; however, they don't add as much meat as Togo's. Regardless of the amount of protein that they may or may not add, my sandwich was well-seasoned and quite flavorful. I was very satisfied with my sandwich. My daughter also gobbled up the Mac and cheese that I ordered for her. I got the 4" turkey sandwich with just the cheese and tomatoes, (not a fan of shredded lettuce in my sandwiches). There was very little turkey, paper thin cheese and paper thin tomatoes. The bread to filling ratio was about 80/20. A 4" sandwich shouldn't be cut in 1/2! It just made it difficult to hold and the scant filling kept slipping out. Usually, I get the Greek because it's my absolute favorite. I wanted to try something different so I ordered a southwest salad and the Italian salad. I will start with the Italian salad. I will not order that again. I did not like pepperoni and salami in my salad with Italian. I want to try something different, but I will definitely not re-order this one. Next, I tried the southwest salad and that was absolutely a no no for me The chicken in the salad was so chewy and gummy. It reminded me of fake chicken. Safe to say, I will not be re-ordering this salad. The Greek salad is my absolute favorite, and I will stick to that from now on. And I re-ordered the Italian sandwich which it was good but this time they didn't put as much meat as before, as you could see in the picture it is very thin slices of meat. You could barely see it. The brisket sandwich on Dutch Crunch is absolutely heavenly! I haven't tried the coffee yet but I suspect it's great, smells great anyway. Salads are great, you just have to mix it, which if you're me creates quite a mess. It's much higher quality products than say Subway so it's a little more $, but well worth it. Service is always friendly. The staff work hard on quality of the food they are preparing so it's not going to be as fast as Subway. The location is close to the recently built apartments and some homes, making it a walkable destination. Upon entering, we noticed the cleanliness, brightness, and clean lines of the building. I've been meaning to try Levain Bread in Suisun for a while now. I tried the Bbq Brisket sandwich and it was delicious! It comes with thin sliced brisket, their signature spread, crispy onion strings, coleslaw, Bbq sauce and cheddar cheese. The flavors were perfectly matched and the sweet French bread was very soft. I also got another one for family and that one was on a Dutch Crunch roll. The strawberry lemonade was very good! As a first timer I had a few questions, and the young man taking my order was so kind, patient, and helpful. I am a bit of a picky eater so I stuck with what I know. A plain turkey sandwich on sourdough. Although it may not sound appetizing to those with a mature pallet I have to say that it was probably one of the best plain turkey sandwiches I've had. I opted for no sauce and asked if I could get balsamic which they did provide. The sandwich ingredients tasted fresh and the bread was really good.
