My husband goes to Mox Boarding House every week with his friends and while we were out, we were nearby and it was the perfect excuse to stop by and check it out! We went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was pretty busy, we didn't have to wait for a table and they had plenty of helpful staff, but clearly a popular spot and perfect option for the family, date or with friends. They have an EXTENSIVE collection of games, definitely one of the more well rounded game stores I have been to and it's very well organized. Not only do they sell games, but they have a great game library for you to take advantage of while visiting. The staff is super helpful and able to suggest a few games that fit what you are looking for, and also offer help if you do need a bit of assistance learning the game. Bonus, if you love the game you played you can buy a brand new addition for 15% off. We were sat in their main dining area and got a round of drinks and appetizer to enjoy while we played our game.

What a cool venue! We rented a private room for a group of 20. Food was great. Service was a little slow but when they were present they were very helpful. H the food was very good. Loved the nachos - lighter and crispier than a typical preparation. The ahi tostados were also amazing. The pasta and meatballs were decent, but only two small meatballs? The drinks are presented beautifully! The overall vibe is totally fun. Definitely coming back.

Came to Mox last Sunday for a lil "rainy" game day with friends. Great place to get snacks, drinks, and play games! It can get packed but they put us in a lil booth around the corner where we could chill away from the cacophony. They have a full bar and full menu with gluten free options! They have a room full of board games, MTG, DND supplies for sale. The service is great and they are also super involved in gaming world so they were fun to talk to about our MTG game. The tables are nice and long to accommodate game play and snacks. They also host MTG draft nights and competitive nights and you can order MTG cards to be delivered there- will need to try! We did get talked to about not being allowed to bring our own water bottles in. And then it was kinda hard flagging people down for more water at our table, but other than that we had a great time and will be coming back! And I'll take more pics next time to capture the vibes.

Food and drinks were mediocre at best. The only "cool" part about the whole place are the games. You can play for hours etc. Everyone in my party was also not impressed by the food and it seems over priced for what you get. I doubt that I would be back.

Pro-tip: It's free to play the games from there check out counter and you can even bring your own. If you end up buying any of the games that you play while you are there, you get 15% off the game. Highlights: Such a great place to hang out and play board games. I think the service is really exceptional, they always come by to refill your water even if you've finished with your meal and are still continuing to play games. They never make you feel like you need to leave. The ambience is great, they have a separate section for trivia nights. Lots of games to try from. The food is pretty good as well. Lowlights: I thought the food was a tad expensive, but I think it's because you can stay as long as you want and play board games. I would have liked more pretzel bread for the sausage and pretzel board.

Mox Boarding Has has become my favorite board game place in Arizona! The staff is so friendly and super knowledgeable. Everyone is so helpful and just really fun to talk to. The food - some of the food is a bit on the pricier end, but our group loved all the food we got. The Hot Honey Chicken is a fried chicken sandwich and the chicken is juicy and soft. The potato dippers are a mix between a potato wedge and potato chip and it's really good. The Tavern Mac and Cheese was so creamy and flavorful. The Il Paradiso melts in your mouth! The Apple Cobbler Bread Pudding was not too sweet and just delicious and easy to share. They have board games you can check out for free. The library might be a bit smaller than some of the other board games places, but it's free to play as of right now! They also do a lot of events and have card games, roleplaying games miniatures and more! It's a fun place to hang out and check out new games.

Fun game of Red Flag It was recommended by an experienced employee. Good choice.

Stumbled on this place accidentally! It got great reviews but I wasn't sure if the food would be good because it was a "game"type restaurant. I thought it was for kids, but it's actually more for adults. We weren't sure what to expect. Very friendly people there to help. They have a full bar, menu and large selection of games to play at your table. If you like board and/or card games, this place is for you! The service was a little slow, perhaps understaffed? The food was really good!! Much better than I expected it to be! My husband loved the burger and I got the Eggplant sandwich......sooooo good and huge. Salads were fresh and tasty. The Mac and cheese is delicious. The only thing I would warn against is the fried Mac and cheese appetizer ! Just get the side dish, it's much better. The fried Mac and cheese was so salty!! We ended up meeting our friends there and they played a couple of games with us. It was a fun night. We will be back!

Awesome place for game nights with family and friends! You can borrow games they have available or you can bring your own. Any games that you borrow and end up wanting to buy it will be 15% off There are tons of seating around the restaurant and the retail area. They have private rooms too which cost $20 per hour to rent out. Evan was so great at explaining a game we chose to play. He was so patient and came back a few times to check up on us to see if we had any questions! Thank you Evan! The food was good too. We got the green chili chorizo burger, hot honey chicken sandwich, and the apple cobbler bread pudding. We spent a good amount of time there and they constantly came into refill our waters. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend this place for a board game night.

Amazing place to spend time and play board games with friends. there's large tables for bigger groups as well as booths. Food is great as well. The good: You can play games for hours! The store front provides game rentals for no cost! There's a discount if you end up buying it when you leave Lots of space! They refill water throughout our 4 hours there. Waiters and servers are very nice and encouraging. Gamemaster, Evan was so patient and explain the game we wanted to play throughly and came back around multiple times to help explain the game! Food and desert was pretty good, though it wasn't really my focus. The bad: not any major negatives as I really enjoyed my time here.

Had a good experience here. Was able to get a private room & the boardgames we got were in decent shape. Waitress offered to pre-split an order I intended on sharing which was nice! The food itself was also good.

The 1912 Lounge can provide a cold beer, some handcrafted cocktails, or a variety of dishes, from appetizers and salads to burgers and other large entrees, and desserts. Music is always on pointe and I would never change the look or ambiance of the place either. My last trip here though I had to ask about why the menu had stopped changing as often since we were one of two parties there in the middle of happy hour and there was a large framed picture of a bartender with a bunch of signed notes on the bottom of it beside me at the bar. It turns out that one of the oldest curators and bartenders of the bar and restaurant had passed from a drunk driving incident and I had not known at all! Gosh I was so disappointed in myself that I had ever complained about not having a new menu to try after that...but at the same time it was amazing to hear so many great anecdotes and to learn so much more about him and the history of the bar itself while dining this time. I had a lot of fun times at this bar - including remembering the first time I met that bartender and sharing that memory with the staff that told me their story. They also shared that they would be coming out with a new menu very soon and some of the new items and ideas that would be rolling out so I am also very excited to go back! The restaurant offers a variety of seating options: outside patio, high-top outdoor seating, inside bar seating, and traditional indoor dining. We arrived in that sweet spot between lunch and happy hour, so the restaurant was quiet and relaxed, exactly how we like it. Drinks My Blue Hawaiian ($15) was absolutely amazing, it really hit the spot, and I was still feeling great when we left! My husband ordered the Pizza Port Chronic ($5) and said it was a nice, refreshing change of pace. Our Server Andrew Andrew greeted us immediately, walked us through both the food and drink menus, and was genuinely knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He was the highlight of our visit. Exceptional service. Appetizer Butter Board & Bread We started with the Butter Board ($14), served with toasted bread. The butter itself, whipped with ricotta, herbs, and what I believe was a honey drizzle, was absolutely delicious. My only note is that the bread edges were toasted a bit too dark for my taste, leaving a slightly burnt crust flavor and aroma. Entrées I ordered the Seared Scallops ($48), which were plated with white potatoes, purple potatoes (possibly ube), and sausage over a rich sauce. Unfortunately, the purple potatoes had a burnt taste that was off-putting, and I wasn't able to finish much of my meal. My husband, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed his Grilled Striped Bass ($48), beautifully plated and well-executed. Final Thoughts While my entree missed the mark this visit, Andrew's outstanding service and the overall ambience more than carried the experience. The space is gorgeous, the concept is lovely, and I can absolutely see returning when the seasonal menu refreshes. In my opinion, it's worth a second chance, we will be back.

But I was proven wrong very quickly. Dre who was the bouncer and I'd much rather call Drayden, is young but friendly. The hall leading down to the entrance was well decorated. It's hard to miss the door when you can hear people on the other side :). Hostess was nice. Alex immediately introduced himself from behind the bar as I sat down, and Meagan was the main bartender this night. They were both a wealth of knowledge when it came to cocktails. I really wasn't expecting too much but the two drinks I ordered were a solid 5/5. I had the silk bandit and the untold legacy. I like sweet drinks this way. It wasn't too sweet. All the flavors were well balanced and well thought out. They also had a girl singing tonight and she was amazing!!! Thanks for a nice relaxing night. Service was a 5/5 and I'd definitely come back if I'm in the area.

Drinks were spectacular! You have got to love a bartender that doesn't have to grab a book to figure out how to make a drink. The wait staff was on point and very in- tune to their patrons needs. The food was OK, but I probably wouldn't come here to eat. All in all a pretty great experience

First timers. Had been waiting to try this place. So, took our son for his birthday!…read more The restaurant has a cool vibe to it and the inside is nicely decorated, but apart from looks it pretty much live up to our expectations.. We decided to sit at the bar. There were three male staffers. They seemed somewhat friendly, but didn't go out of their way to engage with the guest as much as they did each other. We started with a few drinks since happy hour was still going and had about 30 minute's till it ended. Also, we decided to get a few foods to share-that were a really good deal versus their regular menu prices. Got the Caesar Salad that was extremely salty! Did a side of fries which come with 3 dipping sauces and their valley wings which were both very good. My son got (as his main meal) the Aftermath Burger and tots which he seemed to enjoy. My husband had their burrata salad which was surprisingly delicious. Fresh & fantastic, cool, crisp and refreshing. I had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka spicy! Good, but could have had a bit more heat. That said, the serving size for the price was pretty fair. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience. Food was decent and the happy hour menu was actually excellent! Our server could have been a bit more attentive. However, will be a place we would definitely revisit especially during their super happy hour timeframe.

The French toast was a little burnt this time, but it was still delicious--soft on the inside and full of flavor. The breakfast sandwich was okay; I expected it to be more on the level of their burger, which I really enjoy. The huevos rancheros were flavorful and satisfying, making them a standout breakfast option. What always makes the experience worth it is the service. It's consistently quick, friendly, and attentive every visit. Even when one dish isn't perfect, Born & Bred still delivers a great overall experience. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for breakfast or brunch.
