    Great food and drink!

This place is amazing! Wonderful food, great staff and you can even borrow a game to play. SO fun! This place is amazing! Wonderful food, great staff and you can even borrow a game to play. SO fun! One thing they could use though is some sound dampening in the tournament room!

If you love games this is the place to go to! I got the garlic herb burger, sweet potato Tator tots(are so good), and the nachos. Coming from Chicago to have liquor and a restaurant and play games while you eat!?! You gotta go!

It was my first time visiting Mox Boarding House but I'd go back just to play games and hang out. I wouldn't go back for the restaurant. There is an awesome variety of games and it is free to rent games as long as you play there. Tons of seating/tables. (The score would be lower if it weren't for the guys working at the store). The guys who worked the game room were knowledgeable, kind, and patient. They had awesome recommendations and they were just genuinely nice guys who loved their jobs. I had a toddler with me and I wanted recommendations on boardgames that we can teach them. The worker recommended some really good options that I plan to purchase to play with the toddler. The restaurant on the other hand.. Not a completely horrible experience but it really was not good. 2/5 stars. It was filling up quick and there were maybe 2 servers on staff. We noticed other employees working at the restaurant who were just walking around and hanging out but they really were not doing anything. Our server was bartending and hanging out at the bar a lot (understandable, it looked like she had a lot of drink orders and had some customers sitting there). We had to wave her down multiple times for service. That kind of ruins the dining experience when you can't eat and have to flag your server down every 15 mins. My chicken sandwich came out so cold and flavorless, I ended up sending it back. Artichoke dip was watery and had no flavor. The gnocchi was overcooked and funky. The only dish that I *barely* recommend is the lemon chicken piccata. The onion rings were not bad, they were definitely battered in alcohol. Super bready but crispy. TLDR: come for the games and I don't recommend the restaurant.

What a cute place ! They sell board games here and have a huge collection ! The dining area has a wonderful older school style like from the 70s. We came here for lunch. The service was quick I got the nachos. They were tasty. Staffwas incredibly kind. Will definitely be back to try some other options, the menu is a bit on the smaller side, but we had a fantastic time.

My husband goes to Mox Boarding House every week with his friends and while we were out, we were nearby and it was the perfect excuse to stop by and check it out! We went on a Sunday afternoon, and it was pretty busy, we didn't have to wait for a table and they had plenty of helpful staff, but clearly a popular spot and perfect option for the family, date or with friends. They have an EXTENSIVE collection of games, definitely one of the more well rounded game stores I have been to and it's very well organized. Not only do they sell games, but they have a great game library for you to take advantage of while visiting. The staff is super helpful and able to suggest a few games that fit what you are looking for, and also offer help if you do need a bit of assistance learning the game. Bonus, if you love the game you played you can buy a brand new addition for 15% off. We were sat in their main dining area and got a round of drinks and appetizer to enjoy while we played our game.

What a cool venue! We rented a private room for a group of 20. Food was great. Service was a little slow but when they were present they were very helpful. H the food was very good. Loved the nachos - lighter and crispier than a typical preparation. The ahi tostados were also amazing. The pasta and meatballs were decent, but only two small meatballs? The drinks are presented beautifully! The overall vibe is totally fun. Definitely coming back.

Came to Mox last Sunday for a lil "rainy" game day with friends. Great place to get snacks, drinks, and play games! It can get packed but they put us in a lil booth around the corner where we could chill away from the cacophony. They have a full bar and full menu with gluten free options! They have a room full of board games, MTG, DND supplies for sale. The service is great and they are also super involved in gaming world so they were fun to talk to about our MTG game. The tables are nice and long to accommodate game play and snacks. They also host MTG draft nights and competitive nights and you can order MTG cards to be delivered there- will need to try! We did get talked to about not being allowed to bring our own water bottles in. And then it was kinda hard flagging people down for more water at our table, but other than that we had a great time and will be coming back! And I'll take more pics next time to capture the vibes.

Food and drinks were mediocre at best. The only "cool" part about the whole place are the games. You can play for hours etc. Everyone in my party was also not impressed by the food and it seems over priced for what you get. I doubt that I would be back.

Pro-tip: It's free to play the games from there check out counter and you can even bring your own. If you end up buying any of the games that you play while you are there, you get 15% off the game. Highlights: Such a great place to hang out and play board games. I think the service is really exceptional, they always come by to refill your water even if you've finished with your meal and are still continuing to play games. They never make you feel like you need to leave. The ambience is great, they have a separate section for trivia nights. Lots of games to try from. The food is pretty good as well. Lowlights: I thought the food was a tad expensive, but I think it's because you can stay as long as you want and play board games. I would have liked more pretzel bread for the sausage and pretzel board.

Mox Boarding Has has become my favorite board game place in Arizona! The staff is so friendly and super knowledgeable. Everyone is so helpful and just really fun to talk to. The food - some of the food is a bit on the pricier end, but our group loved all the food we got. The Hot Honey Chicken is a fried chicken sandwich and the chicken is juicy and soft. The potato dippers are a mix between a potato wedge and potato chip and it's really good. The Tavern Mac and Cheese was so creamy and flavorful. The Il Paradiso melts in your mouth! The Apple Cobbler Bread Pudding was not too sweet and just delicious and easy to share. They have board games you can check out for free. The library might be a bit smaller than some of the other board games places, but it's free to play as of right now! They also do a lot of events and have card games, roleplaying games miniatures and more! It's a fun place to hang out and check out new games.

Fun game of Red Flag It was recommended by an experienced employee. Good choice.

Stumbled on this place accidentally! It got great reviews but I wasn't sure if the food would be good because it was a "game"type restaurant. I thought it was for kids, but it's actually more for adults. We weren't sure what to expect. Very friendly people there to help. They have a full bar, menu and large selection of games to play at your table. If you like board and/or card games, this place is for you! The service was a little slow, perhaps understaffed? The food was really good!! Much better than I expected it to be! My husband loved the burger and I got the Eggplant sandwich......sooooo good and huge. Salads were fresh and tasty. The Mac and cheese is delicious. The only thing I would warn against is the fried Mac and cheese appetizer ! Just get the side dish, it's much better. The fried Mac and cheese was so salty!! We ended up meeting our friends there and they played a couple of games with us. It was a fun night. We will be back!

Awesome place for game nights with family and friends! You can borrow games they have available or you can bring your own. Any games that you borrow and end up wanting to buy it will be 15% off There are tons of seating around the restaurant and the retail area. They have private rooms too which cost $20 per hour to rent out. Evan was so great at explaining a game we chose to play. He was so patient and came back a few times to check up on us to see if we had any questions! Thank you Evan! The food was good too. We got the green chili chorizo burger, hot honey chicken sandwich, and the apple cobbler bread pudding. We spent a good amount of time there and they constantly came into refill our waters. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend this place for a board game night.

We finished with some of their Black Forest Cake which was the bomb! Tender, moist chocolate cake rounds with the best tasting whip that has vanilla bean in it and then some great cherry jam to set it all off. What a great meal!

It is an attachment to San tan brewery and also has food options from the San tan brewery but a smaller choice. They're open until 1am so it's also a great place to finish the night. We ordered the nachos with shredded chicken and also the chicken wings. They're both good to order. One thing to note is that the nachos are potato chips and not tortilla chips so it might not be something you prefer. The toppings were plenty and tasty. The guys ate it so fast while we were chatting. We ordered multiple different style and flavor old fashions and the menu will indicate if the it comes with an add on like cookie or bacon with a little icon. The cookies were all fantastic! The bacon was tasty but a little bit soggy and not crispy for my taste. But the fat and savor of the bacon really works well with the sweet old fashioned choices. The sweet cookie works well with the less sweet and more tart options. It's pretty smart. Our server, Hanna was very attentive with food, drinks and waters and also very upbeat. Definitely not a dull place to get a drink at all. People seemed to be having a good time and enjoying the cozy feel of the bar. I would recommend this place if you're in downtown Chandler for cocktails and drinks and you don't want to stand all night and prefer to sit and chat.

Delicious local cocktail spot!!…read more My friend and I were looking for more of a mellow night and ended up at Spirit house!! We each got a drink and they were so yummy!! Sitting inside would've have been nice but since the place is small and were quite a handful of people we decided to sit outside as the wether was at it's best! All drinks sounded delicious but I ended up getting their orange dreamsicle and my friend got the pink lady! More sweet, of course! But that's exactly how we enjoy out drinks

First timers. Had been waiting to try this place. So, took our son for his birthday!…read more The restaurant has a cool vibe to it and the inside is nicely decorated, but apart from looks it pretty much live up to our expectations.. We decided to sit at the bar. There were three male staffers. They seemed somewhat friendly, but didn't go out of their way to engage with the guest as much as they did each other. We started with a few drinks since happy hour was still going and had about 30 minute's till it ended. Also, we decided to get a few foods to share-that were a really good deal versus their regular menu prices. Got the Caesar Salad that was extremely salty! Did a side of fries which come with 3 dipping sauces and their valley wings which were both very good. My son got (as his main meal) the Aftermath Burger and tots which he seemed to enjoy. My husband had their burrata salad which was surprisingly delicious. Fresh & fantastic, cool, crisp and refreshing. I had the Rigatoni Alla Vodka spicy! Good, but could have had a bit more heat. That said, the serving size for the price was pretty fair. Overall, we really enjoyed our experience. Food was decent and the happy hour menu was actually excellent! Our server could have been a bit more attentive. However, will be a place we would definitely revisit especially during their super happy hour timeframe.

The French toast was a little burnt this time, but it was still delicious--soft on the inside and full of flavor. The breakfast sandwich was okay; I expected it to be more on the level of their burger, which I really enjoy. The huevos rancheros were flavorful and satisfying, making them a standout breakfast option. What always makes the experience worth it is the service. It's consistently quick, friendly, and attentive every visit. Even when one dish isn't perfect, Born & Bred still delivers a great overall experience. Definitely a spot I'd recommend for breakfast or brunch.
