I've been shopping at Torrid since it opened in the early 2000's. Torrid stores in California, Texas and Kansas. Since 2020, I haven't stepped in a Torrid Brick and Mortar store. I usually shop online. Yesterday I decided to head to Torrid Cerritos. Two ladies behind the counter turned around from handling clothes behind the counter and hurriedly said welcome then turned back continuing on with clothes. I looked around for a few pieces in the front, but I wanted help with narrowing down a dress for church that I had to be at in an hour. When I asked for help one of the ladies didn't appear happy. Because one of them had to help me, she appeared almost annoyed. I told her my size when she asked and she immediately started saying she wasn't sure she had my size in her store. I knew that was not true because I saw a couple of newer pieces in the front. She said she might have some in the clearance rack and she started trying to pull pieces from the Clearance rack. Usually the clearance rack has very outdated clothing. But she assumed I couldn't afford a new dress or something. After a couple of minutes she pulled out an atrocious muted peach dress that was from 10 or more summers ago, at least it looked like it. It looked see through, the employee tried to gaslight me into thinking it wasn't. At that point I was ready to leave. I went back to front of the store and just decided to leave. I've never felt so bad. I was treated really poorly, tossed aside. The employee had a take it or leave it attitude. I was looking for a little grace, dignity and Respect. I left there thinking this is the last time I'll be patronizing Torrid. I never could have imagined that I'd be saying goodbye to my old faithful clothing store. Torrid, you were good until you weren't.

The workers here have always been nice and they keep the dressing rooms fairly clean. The store itself is actually clean and very well maintained. The one reason I don't come to this one as often is because for it being a pretty big store this location seems to always be low on stock. I'm not sure if its because its right next to the mall so its just busy or they just get low quantities of sized but I always have to end up just ordering the items online. Its a nice store and I do enjoy coming to this one just wished they had more stock.

I like to head to the home section in the back for the books, kits, and candles; this last time, I found two hardcover copies of an author whose novels I enjoy in the clearance section for only $12 apiece. I haven't been approached or helped by any associates during my visits - which is fine - but nothing outstanding to report, either. The most recent time, we (my small rescue dog and I) got barked at twice (first by a reactive chihuahua and second by a reactive dachshund) and was surprised that neither the owners nor staff said anything. Not that this ruined my experience, but you'd expect fellow dog people to have more common courtesy.

To be honest, I've never really enjoyed my shopping experiences at the Abbot Kinney (Venice) location. We waited approximately…read more30-45 minutes for assistance while several employees, including the cashier, were having personal conversations about their weekend and other non-work-related topics instead of assisting customers. While trying to pick up my online order, the employee assisting me allowed another employee to take over the same computer so they could process an employee discount for a friend. My transaction was interrupted, my order was passed between employees, and at one point they could not locate my online order. After being patient for quite some time, I finally expressed my frustration and explained that I felt ignored and discriminated against based on the way I was being treated. Unfortunately, when I brought my concerns to the manager, Ashley, I did not feel they were taken seriously. She appeared to dismiss my complaint and returned to laughing and having personal conversations with the staff. As a customer, I felt completely ignored, disrespected, and as though my time did not matter. I understand stores can get busy, but basic acknowledgment, professionalism, and respect should still be expected. I'm sharing this review because I hope management takes this seriously and improves the customer service and professionalism at this location ,please review the camera footage . My husband and I visited on 8/9 to shop for a suit. An employee asked if we needed help and my…read morehusband told her that he'd like to try them on. Her immediate response was, "For you? Nothing's going to fit you. You're too small." My husband explained that he regularly wears a 3XL. Instead of helping him find something to try, she responded, "Yeah, but it's not going to look good on you." He again told her that he would still like to try something on because he wears a 3X regularly. She then told him he could try a 2X (their smallest size according to her), but repeated that "it's not going to look good on you." At that point, my husband turned around and left. The entire interaction was extremely rude, dismissive, and unnecessary. We came into the store ready to purchase a suit, and instead of receiving assistance, my husband was repeatedly told that nothing would fit him or look good on him before he was even given the opportunity to try anything on. Regardless of whether an employee believes a particular size or style will work, there is a respectful and professional way to assist a customer. Making someone feel unwelcome or uncomfortable about their body or size is not it.!We left without purchasing anything and will gladly take our business somewhere else.
