1st time i went hear I played just 9, and it was cool but i was playing bad so honestly i was just angry, but second time i went, i played the full 18, and this time it was incredible, the back 9 is so fun, and the entire 18 holes is technical and fun, will definitely make you a better player. Club house is insanely nice, and staff is super kind and lenient, we were about 15 minutes late to our tee time, and he said it was no problem and let us play the full 18. For the price of this course, the course conditions and everything you get from this course is 100% worth it. If a 10/10 course is pebble beach, this is an 8/10 golf course. Bring your friends, play solo, practice your game, overall this course is in my top 3 Washington golf courses. read more

Absolutely amazing. Super friendly staff, beautiful clubhouse, and the food was great. The course itself was in incredible shape, especially for winter. We were about 20 minutes late because of an accident, called ahead, and they gave us a full hour buffer. Most places get mad if you're five minutes late, so that genuinely meant a lot. The layout is gorgeous -- wide but tricky, fun par 3s with water, tight par 4s, and long par 5s. Highly recommend giving it a try. read more

Since the golf course has changed ownership a few years ago, it has been improved so, so much! Much care and thought has gone into revitalizing everything about it. The North Fork Grill there is absolutely wonderful. The prime rib on the weekends is the best we have had anywhere in the SW Washington area. If you're into prime rib, as I am, you may be weary of "prime rib specials" because to be honest, they're often just not all that special, or even good. And so, I approached their Sunday night "prime rib special" somewhat skeptically. I was so pleasantly surprised by a ginormous cut of perfectly seasoned and prepared prime rib! It came with the most succulent fall vegetables, delicious mashed potatoes and a nice dinner roll, along with au jus and creamy horseradish. This is one of the best deals going and so, so, so good! Course is a nice layout but don't come here during the winter. They made you tee off mats even though the tee box is in perfect shape. Especially at the high winter rates. Also there's no chipping area so I chipped close to an unused tee box where no one was there. Was told I couldn't chip there cus they didn't want divots. Ridiculous! Not coming back read more

The best service and staff I've ever seen at a course. My friends and I were 20 mins late for our tee time since an accident happened on the road. We called and explained the situation, and the pro shop manager gave us an HOUR buffer time. We just played 20 mins after our time but the level of service was incredible. Amazing prices on the hot dogs, beautiful scenery, quick pace of play, open fairways for newer players. 10/10 Course for me. read more

If you play later in the day around 5, they will start the sprinklers and you'll have to play through them. They also do not space tree time far enough apart, took almost 3 hours for 9 holes. Seems like bad customer service and poor attention to detail. read more

I found out today why the course is such a sh*t hole.....the superintendent quit 3-4 months ago because they are trying to sell the course. That explains the trashy tee boxes, fairways and greens. Been twice, first time great food, service and atmosphere. Came back with family, terrible service (30min to get menu and water) an hour after we ordered the burger arrived. Server forgot fries and ketchup. We finished the food before either arrived. Never refilled our water after asking, finally had to ask for bill and walk up to get it paid read more

Beautiful view of the Lewis River, great place for a wedding! We went in for lunch and the burgers were delicious, we sat outside and it was gorgeous! The beer was cold and so refreshing looking at the Lewis River. Burgers with bacon were delicious fries were crisp and hot. Servers were so nice and helpful and enjoyed sharing their "Woodland" adventures with us. read more

I rated the course as a three star, based on the progress from a sis months ago. The course is headed to a five star. This course offers a great variety of challenge, at each hole. These greens are fast, in the current condition and will be even faster, once the the greens keeper reaches his goal. I live closer to other courses but Lewow River gets my money, due to location, beauty, challenge and the passion from the staff. Hats off to management for hiring Cameron and Devin. Cameron, at the Pro Shop puts every bit of energy to taking care of us golfers. Devins plan to make the course top notch is proving to pay-off. Reward yourself and play Lewis River. read more

I am giving this golf club a 1 star based on 1 person which totally sucks I know so I will spell out it for you. The manager or supervisor of the pro shop "Lori" was completely rude and unprofessional, we showed up on a Tuesday at 10:00am with a reserved Tee time for 10:30. We had a gift card valid for that time. She tried to turn us away saying it was only valid after 1pm. We explained that it clearly says on the back of the card that it is valid m-thu anytime - she refused to look at the back of the card saying they are just to busy to take us.... uhhh we have a reservation for 10:30... we drove 1.5hrs to play the course. Her trainee read her the back of the card that said anytime m-th and she still tried say it wasn't valid. Finally saying ok just let them play. Really???? Hey lady learn how to read, this was the most obnoxious situation I think I have ever encountered. worst customer service - maybe covid makes people crazy. Lori is in the wrong job. Dismiss her. I overheard several others complain even the bartender said she had got other complaints about Lori. read more

Nice course in Woodland, WA. I have played in past, but didn't have super clear memories. The turn off, off Lewis River Road is a bit tricky, it's after the RV Park, and sign is kind of hidden away. My family had a coupon, so we used the OGA Passport. There was no rain forecasted but there was a slight drizzle or mist. Luckily, full time rain held off. It was a great time and the course was in super shape. In the past, I guess they'd had some diseased greens. But that was all clear, except for one, I think hole 10 or 11. There were plenty of golfers out there and we had to wait a bit on most tee shots, but very enjoyable. We checked in at window - posted were several rules, which were fine/slightly strict. No outside alcohol, collared shirts mandatory, you may not drive the golf cart out to the parking lot. After check-in, before our tee time, the lone gal running the shop, had to track down our golf cart, so we had to wait a bit. Upon gathering our gear, I had my waterbottles and snack in a green reuseable sack was approached by the lady running it, "I'm gonna have to look through your bag for alcohol" - Geez, harsh. I mean, most golf courses restrict outside bev. I get it, but targeting me like that was odd. I held open my bag and said "Okay" I did not have any on me, she didn't proceed with the search. The course plays fairly easy, not easy, but approachable. I enjoyed the woodsy scenery. It was a pleasant day, friendly folks around, and if you could stay in the fairway, a good score was obtainable. There is a par 6 for ladies on Hole 12. Ha! Long sucker - 600+ yards. I would recommend and return. At departure saw some folks out on the patio and where they hold weddings and events - with a view of the river. No inside facilities available, except the restroom. A nice large building for the clubhouse. Worth the stop! read more

Wow, wow, wow! This course is way out in the middle of nowhere. Located right next to the Lewis river. Did not expect much of a course. This course was just in tournament condition. Very challenging, greens in perfect shape, fairways lined with all sorts of beautiful, old pine trees. Wow! All I can say is that they have awesome greens keepers! The players were perfectly spaced, never felt rushed nor had to wait to play. Had a classy, old-style private country club feel. I get to play golf all over the world. I would rate this course in my "Top Ten Places in the World To Play Golf!" From the Pro shop, to the cart girl, to the employees in the restaurant, big hats off to the management team! Great example of how to do it right! Now I will only play this course! Thank you! read more

*This review is only for the bar, patio and food as we didn't actually golf* I was in the area with family and we were looking for a nice place to have brunch or lunch before heading back to Portland. We heard from our hotel that the Lewis River golf course was a good choice and it was awesome! The course is easy to find but also off any main roads so it's very lush and rustic. Large parking lot so had no issues parking. The building itself is extremely nice and we were all impressed with the look and feel of the clubhouse. We chose to sit on the outside patio so we could enjoy some sun and the river view. It's located right on the river so has gorgeous views and setting. Large patio and had a really cool fireplace! The food was mainly lunch but after asking, they did mention breakfast items. Breakfast was croissant sandwiches with bacon and ham. They had ice cream batter French toast or omelettes. I went with lunch and ordered the cali club sandwich. It was very good and the fries were awesome. It was supposed to come with avocado and wasn't actually in the sandwich which was a bummer. Others st the table ordered salads, burgers and breakfast. Everyone was happy with the food! They also had bloody Mary's and screwdrivers for those that wanted some drinks. The lunch was really relaxing but I was happy we had plenty of time. It did take a while to get food and drinks, which didn't ruin our lunch by any means, but we were glad we had time to kill. If you're looking for a cool venue or just a nice lunch spot, check this place out! read more

Traveled from Woodburn, Oregon. Had a tee time reserved for after 10 am. Arrived at 9:45. Go to check in and we're told that we don't have a tee time and we're asked to leave.? We all traveled some distance to play here so we didn't make a mistake. They had just accommodated another 4some who didn't even have a reservation but didn't bother to help us. I played on a random Sunday with my wife and a friend. My experience was by far the worst golfing experience I've had to date. It did not feel safe from a guest perspective. While they did have social distancing markers down and the pro-shop closed, not very many people were abiding by it and no one was enforcing it. The course Marshall was running around without a mask and walked up on us while we were paying. We got our carts which were the last two available on a less than busy day. The carts were covered in spider webs and the seat was falling off. We pulled up to the first hole and a gentleman was there watching some others play out. They finished and he didn't move, so when we asked what was going on he said his other two players left and he didn't know what to do. The Marshall then came up on her cart and we asked for some assistance. She talked very pleasantly with the man on the tee box and then started becoming rude with us and the group behind us. She said things like "it's not that hard. You just need to go." And was very rude in reminding us "it shouldn't be more than 10 minutes a hole or you should pick up". We finally got to play and I must say I was very unimpressed with the course. Mediocre green care, downed trees and a beat up cart path made it less than a fun day of golf. Played Lewis River today and it was borderline shocking...almost rivaling The Cedars for neglect and lack of maintenance. Hundred yard long swaths of bare dirt and dead grass on the fairways with holes punched in them. The greens were similar....bare/dead spots that had just been punched....virtually unputtable. Tee boxes unmowed with bare, weedy patches. No drinks cart....no ball washers....restaurant closed, pop machine on course out of order, no water on course, pro shop empty. But greens fees remain the same. What a shame that a once really nice course was let go like this. read more

We booked A tee time through golf now. We don't often do that. We usually book through the course itself, but this course is over priced. When we arrived they were setting up for a tournament. We are seniors and wanted to rent carts. We were told none were available to golf now bookings. The staff were condesending and seemed to think we deserved this for booking through a third party. We have done this at other courses and it's never been a problem. If they don't like third party booking then don't offer them. Staff needs training in good customer service. Played Fathers Day...needless to say very crowded. Play here regularly for past 10+ years. Carts in short supply, but they turned em quick...cleaned and sanitized. Saw evidence of new mgt, and improvements. There was a starter, and marshall...not a regular sight. And a beverage cart too,, big bonus.. Course was in very good shape. But you better keep in short stuff...as long stuff is crazy long. COVID parameters in full effect. Shout out to manager Lori and her team for taking good care of us in challenging times. This course is tournament ready. Best course I know of for a mediocre golfer such as myself,(I play the white tees, and hit mid 90's), in South West Washington State. The clubhouse is classy, and the restaurant/bar is upscale. Note, the restaurant/bar is only open for summer hours. Went to Nine Wine and Dine on Friday at 6:00- what a fun event for only $50 per person. Start with wine and appetizers. Two drink tickets per person. Nine hole scramble. Then dinner and wine on the patio. Great course and beautiful patio on the river. They hold it 5-6 times per summer. Golfing any time there is great but this is a cool event! read more

I'd give it a ZERO if I could. After 6 years if attending Mother's day brunch here, we won't be going back. To be fair, this facility and this location are phenomenal. The ownership and the management SUCK. The woman/manager checking us in for our reservation was rude. Not asking if we had another name, but just telling me I didn't have reservation (which we did, and she finally found). They charged over $30 each PLUS an 18% gratuity. They herded us all to a single window to prepay for our brunch. Some people waited in line for 20 min. Then they demanded everyone come back to the same windows tho get a hand stamp prior to eating. No one checked for this stamp when we went to the buffet. Some of the sausages were cold. Not warm, cold. The only egg choice had peppers in it. The omelet station had only one burner and pan. The food in the past has been reasonable and good. Today there were several unknown foods. When we're asked what they were, the carver didn't have any idea. They were dried up crab cakes and some deep fried potato and mushroom balls. When we sat, we had no silverware, no salt and pepper on our table. We waited over 15 minutes for water, about 10 for silverware. We waited over 25 minutes for salt and pepper. Seriously, I finally went downstairs to ask. There was a 1/3 filled floral ring on the table looking like it was made by a grade school. Even a glass of water with a single flower would have been better. Such a contrast from previous years. There were 3 "servers" (1 real and 2 horrible) and 3 kids. I say kids because they had NO IDEA what to do. We had to ask for water. Ask for our plates to be cleared (after sitting on our table for 20 min). Most of the other people atound us had complained as well. The only saving grace was a server named Ellen. She finally started helping us and we received drinks. It's clear this place is operating with no budget, but also not hiring professionals. Even on a low budget people can have customer service and common sense. This set up was horrific, the people untrained. Food presentation was potentially unsafe with no food labels and no sterno heating the meat. All in all, Lewis River should be embarrassed. They allowed a 5somes when the course is so small that 2somes should only be allowed or 3 somsomes We waited 30 minutes on each hole to play Started at 100 and was on 6th hole at 330 All the players were frustrated We quit on 6th hole and I tried to explain to brian allen the pro shop manager Why we quit and he gave me 2 twilight plays 50 % off that starts at 3pm not 1234 even though it cost us normally 80 dollars on a friday for both of us. So he gave us a total of 25 dollars back. What a rip off. Shear greed on his part. What a way to run a course. read more

Great layout but the course is in poor condition for a rate of $50 bucks to walk. Some greens are great some have multiple large bald spots. Most greens have dead spots on the fringe. Push carts for rent are not adequate. This is a 35 buck walking rate even on the weekend. To charge more they need to get their course management in order. Might just be a course I play in spring. It's early summer and the quality is lacking on most holes. Won't be back till next year, plenty of other courses in a more convenient location that play much better. read more

The new owners are apparently turning this place around. The gestapo lady in the pro shop was replaced by a super helpful and nice guy, and the former super is back making the place look great again. I hear they're getting new carts for 2022, and the restaurant is coming back. Seems to be going in the right direction, for sure. Not enough carts, no they dont say that beforehand, tee times are always behind, way too over priced for a course that has disease and burnt greens. 2 people with a cart $130.00 and the greens are like your living room carpet. Pro shop staff has way too much power one even tried to search my golf bag and was going too before I told him to stop. I can honestly say I will never be back and I will make sure everyone I know within the golfing community knows to never play here again. Lori the pro shop manager was very rude and un professional. Played on 8/2 at 7:15am. Staff/starter was extremely rude. Our 4some was unaware of the sharing cart rule with Covid and didn't appreciate being chastised by the starter/person with the clipboard for not knowing the rules that have been changing weekly. Person with the clipboard should train the person working the cash register better because they didn't even know how to ring up 18 holes with a cart. Course was in terrible conditions for the price, so myself and my group will not be returning. Sad to see this course fall off the map so quick but it did. Plenty of other courses in the area with much better value. It was a good run for Lewis River, but it appears to be over!!!!! read more

Portlanders Beware! Our group was treated rudely upon our arrival to our scheduled tee time by the manager. We were asked "where we were from" which I felt was an unusual question. And, ultimately we ended leaving without playing the course after being called "entitled" by the same manager. I will never return to this golf course and I urge any Portlander that identifies with the "dog whistle" of being called "entitled" to do the same. read more

This golf course could be so good if the staff cared about the customers and the condition of the grounds. We played today at 10am and found the starter person to be rude and pushy, and we paid $130+ for two rounds and a cart. The course conditions were awful. One of the groundskeepers advised me (as we were finishing up a hole) that their "pumps had gone out" about 4 months ago so they couldn't water the grounds! When I asked if the pumps were now working, he shrugged and said sometimes. We made the turn after the 9th hole and stopped for a beverage--the lady working the counter had little idea how to serve us or even ring it up correctly on the register. Very disappointed with the entire experience, and we flew up from Arizona to enjoy golf in the cooler weather. This course is a waste of time and money. read more
