This is the time of great memories. Come here to this local burger joint and start to make them. I…read morefondly remember our neighborhood burger spot (Crickets) and this is the new generation version. It is run by locals and full of local employees. It's were you go to see people you know and went to school with. Heck some of those kids working there may still be in school! The food is good, reasonably cheap and fast. If you want to "Buy Local", start here. When you come inside make a sharp turn and place your order. They have menus on the right hand side and take a look while you wait your turn. After you order, grab a spot inside or outside. Not a ton of space in or out, but enough and a lot of people just grab it to go which helps. After you order, wait your number and then pick up your prize. I have a huge soft spot for crabmeat and went with the crabcake sandwich. I bet their burgers are better. It wasn't bad, it was just good. Others in our party said the burgers were great. I'm such a consistent player that I never met a bad pecan pie nor a bad crab cake. I have a WIDE tolerance for my joy. I ordered a side of fries and they were ginormous. You only need one for every few people so be aware. Overall, super happy and look forward to my next visit.

They do a nice job of advertising seasonal specials. The prices are good. They have seafood. Their ice cream is wonderful, go just for the ice cream and you'll be happy.

Newsome's Restaurant - Nice spot, not huge so sit outside if needed.

The bartender would not serve me, which is fine. However, her attitude and snarkyness to me which I why I give this place zero stars and never recommend going. It was a brunette bartender with glasses for clarification (calling you out directly for your terrible service and mean attitude). I offered if I could show a picture of an ID and she responded with "want me to show you a picture of beer". I showed it to her anyway and goes "don't want to kill your vibe but I am not going to jail over you." Digital IDs are even accepted with police officers, so do not know why she was so adamant about being condescending to me about it. I have been coming to Reedville my entire life and I know how much businesses can struggle here. The bare minimum businesses can do to last here is be decent and respectful to their paying customers. Never going to this place again, zero stars. Eric C, you are missing the moral of the story. Where I respect whatever the ID policy is. The bartender simply could have said "this is the policy" but instead she decided to be condescending and degrading to the customer.

Well, one thing you need to know about Reedville is that they cash this stinky fish called menhaden which is used for omega oil. When the fisherman catch this fish, the entire town stinks. You may mistake it to come from this restaurant if you're visiting for the first time. That's not true. Restaurant is absolutely nice and service is great. I recommend crab cakes stuffed in flounder as one of the must try entrees here. Especially in the summer when crabs are so fresh. Shrimp and grits are delicious as well. They have some amazing sides to choose from. Onion rings, hush puppies, and rice are my go to sides. Ambiance is nice. There have outdoor seating on a nice day. Plenty of spots to park. It gets crowded on Friday night and Saturday night. I recommend calling them in advance and making reservations.

We were out, just sort of poking around and decided to drive all the way to Reedville, and then upon arriving decided to eat at this restaurant. The lunch was delicious. The soup was great, the fried fish was fantastic, and my wife had a really impressive wedge salad with oysters. Service is very friendly and for a lunch stop I would say this is about as good as it gets. The only reason why I am giving it four stars instead of five is something I discovered on my bill after we had eaten. They charge a 3.5% fee for using a credit card. Not that it is a big deal, but in this day and age where literally everybody is using plastic, why not just build that cost into your menu so that it's not hanging out there After you've already ordered and eaten. Again, not a big deal, and I will definitely be back and will use my credit card again!
