After theater drinks and food were very enjoyable. The vibe is very chill, not super boisterous, and pretty low key for a gastro pub. And the food was surprisingly good. The sausage party pizza was great - good sausage, good sauce, crisp crust. The fig and pig pizza was very special, covered in thick ham slices, fig spread, and balsamic glaze. However, the duck fat fries were maybe the star of the night; they were seriously crispy and umami. If you love cheese, the stuffed shells are the right choice. And if you want a unique but familiar cocktail, the maple old fashioned was quite delicious.

I must say while I didn't have a bad time, my expectations were higher! I have never been here before and was really excited to try it. The appetizers were much better than the pizzas. While the pizzas weren't bad, they weren't all that spectacular. And my whole table went most of our meal without water until the waitress finally came back w a jug for the table since we had to grab her to ask for refills twice which was helpful but i would've like the jug far sooner if she was busy. I really liked the Brussels sprouts and meatballs. My sister swears by the duck fat fries but they were a little too thin and crispy for me (but maybe we got the bottom of the cuts). I would have nothing against trying again!

Another great visit to Fox's Den with out of town friends. It was easy to get a table as we strolled in at 5pm on Saturday -- by 6:30pm the Den was packed and a line was forming. As always, apps, pizza and drinks were solid .. making the host family look like culinary geniuses. HITS: Brussels Spouts with Goat Cheese, Duck Fat Fries, Kyle Jeffrey pizza

I found Fox's Den on Yelp when looking for a dinner option in Annapolis that wouldn't break the bank but looked like it had good food. This really hit that mark! My husband and I were seated quickly on a weeknight evening for an early dinner. We decided to share the duck fat fries, lamb meatballs and a pizza. Everything came out hot and fast. We also ended up taking half the pizza home because the portions were a decent size. My husband liked his cocktail that had an interesting mint foam on it. Service was great and they had the AC cranking which was nice on a super hot summer evening. Would be back for sure!!

The food on the menu is ridiculously yummy. It's a tough choice to choose which dish. Also, a great selection of beers and creative mix drinks. The staff is helpful and attentive and the underground bar is a nice spot for a date or outing with friends.

A tale of two reviews: Fox's Den as a pizzeria and Fox's Den as a gastropub We came in on a recent Sunday evening - my wife and our two teenage boys. Even though it was the height of tourist season, Sunday night was the perfect time to arrive as there were no crowds at all. Let's start with the highlights. Fox's Den pizza is very, very good. We tried the Fig and Pig, the special of the evening, the Denethor, and the sausage party. All three were flavorful, with crust that had just the right bite and chew. We're dans of Timber pizza here in Annapolis (well, and DC) and Fox's Den definitely gives them a run for their money. And I think Fox's edges them out. (Blasphemy - cries my wife) Fox's Den for a cold brew. Also quite good. Which is excellent when having pizza on a hot, Maryland night. Fox's Den as a gastropub. Well, now we've hit a bit of a snag. Fox's tries so very hard to be an upscale gastropub and comes up short. And not really a little short. We tried their take on deviled eggs and my family, which adores deviled eggs were shocked into silence by the Fox's version. And not in a good way. One egg remained on the serving plate untouched. Normally, someone is in risk of losing a digit trying to get the last bite of any deviled eggs. The fried havarti was solid - and the carmelized onions try at came with it were likely the best non-pizza product at the establishment Poblano Caesar salad - Very very dry, with only a hint of poblano. Actually, only a hint of dressing. But it had maybe a pound of grated Parmesan cheese. This was the first item presented and the oldest boy looked at it and commented, unsolicited, "you would think a gastropub would have anchovies". And he was right - and that was a perfect sample of the menu failings. The only non-pizza entree we tried were the moules-frites. A huge bowl of mussels in a heavy broth, with duck fat fries piled on top. The fries weee decent, but as can be expected if piled onto a soup they quickly became just a soggy mess, losing their luster almost immediately. And the heavy brother was just missing something. It wasn't flavored well, and none of us could quite point to the missing ingredient(s). It was again a swing at an elevated dish that fell flat. The pizza certainly rated 4 stars. The gastropub only 3. And I feel that just a bit generous. However - the ambiance is spot on. The great vibe is a 5 star feel (again, not a crowded raucous night) so I'll average it out to a 4.

Fox's den gives comfy, close, cozy vibes. You'll walk downstairs from the outside sidewalk into the bar. Good amount of seating but I imagine during busy season it can fill to capacity. Very good food, cocktail, and beer menu. Staff were friendly. Pizza is good and duck fat fries are delish!

If you like dimly let places with great pizza and bourbon, this is for you. We got there right as it opened and it was pretty sparse, but within 30 mins it was full of activity. We ordered the Denerhor and the Fig and Pig, which really didn't take long to come out so that was nice. We sat next to the bar, which also gave us a great view of the pizza making operation and fancy oven. Both were great in their own ways so it was nice to have both of them to sample. The bourbon selection is nice as well, with a good variety of allocated and regular stuff. We will definitely be back to try new pizza.

Grrreat pizza! What a surprise. Also ordered some strong drinks from the full bar. Had some fish and chips. Those were ok. Will definitely come back great ambiance and servers

Really good :) a different take on deviled eggs ! Always good food here !

Great take on leveled eggs always great food when ypu come here. Brussels sprouts always a staple to go too.

    Great za! (Sausage, mushroom, basil)

Great pizza and cocktails. Fine craft beer selection and the best brown liquors you could want. I think the pizzas can use a hair more salt to liven them up, but they are crisp and the best in town. Nice selection of options or just look at the toppings on the specialty pies and build your favorite on top of the El Pres (cheese & red sauce) which is what I prefer. Other food is good as well. I think it is all better as shareable plates, but do what works for you. The place is easy to miss as it's a basement restaurant with nothing but a doorway poking up on to Main Street.

Brick oven pizza and for fox sake are by far my favorite items on the menu!! Delicious food! Cozy spot! Staff is friendly and nice!

We were very excited to try new menu items and the famous gimlet. Service was great, our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food and drinks were good, our favorite avocado tacos did not disappoint! What made our experience go from good to bad quickly was what seemed to be the chef coming to our table reeking of cigarettes and alcohol and proceeding to hover over us for what felt like an inappropriately long time. Our server looked embarrassed as if this is a reoccurring event. Although I appreciate the chef coming to check on us it was a bit uncomfortable. We will be returning to one of our favorite date spots, however we hope next time we will have a better experience.

The renovations done are outstanding. The staff was plentiful and attentive. Four of the cheaper items on a limited menu were not available. It could have used a small bed of pasta and/or some bread. Too expensive when you consider you only get one meatball for $19. The Korean BBQ Tacos comes with two tacos and no sides for $22. Our waitress, Linda, greeted us and took our drink orders right away. She was very patient as I asked a bunch of questions about the menu. Our dinner arrived quickly and it was yummy! I had the fried fish, which came with a delicious Old Bay tartar sauce. The fries were so plentiful that neither one of us could finish them. My only (minor) complaint was that it was difficult to eat the fish in the basket it arrived in, as the paper and wire made it hard to get the flaky fish. But the food was great! A live acoustic guitar player came midway through our meal and although he played right next to us, we were able to continue to have a conversation. The decor is nice and it is divided by a hallway which makes the place feel cozy, although there seems to be plenty of seating. We will return!

The duck fries as an appetizer were good but needed to be seasoned with a little more salt. I had a strawberry salad with some grilled chicken that was good with the greens, but dry as the desert with the chicken and borderline inedible. Here's the twist!!! My two compadres both had the grilled cheese and lobster sandwich. They both looked at me sheepishly and said, you f ed up!!!
