These two were working their tails off that night..:)

The definition of local restaurant on Main Street USA. My wife and I were downtown on The Landing and needed some sausage rolls and beer on a cool summer evening. The place was packed and their outside seating area was close to capacity. Nothing extravagant...just cold beer and good food. The fried pickles as an app had a great spicy breading. There were only 3 servers that night (poor local restaurants are just trying to keep their heads above water). Those 3 ladies were working their tails off considering the circumstance! The sausage rolls arrived and we dived into the cheesy goodness. The next time sausage rolls cross your mind, be sure to give Redwood a go and keep supporting local. :)

Thursday they offer deep dish pizza. This is the deluxe. So good. Melissa the owner is awesome! If you've never tried them you need to. Great sausage rolls too!

It's a little dive inside - but dives have the best bar food. And Redwoods has the best sausage roll in Fort Wayne!

Made it home after I left the restaurant and found this present in my pizza box

Fried pickles were good pizza was OK until I got home and found a dead roach in my pizza box call back and didn't even get a offer to replace my food shaking my head even though I told them A dead roach was in my box with my food No type of compensation just ate I'm sorry

Went on a Tuesday so we could try the taco pizza. It was pretty delicious and they were generous with their toppings on both pizzas we ordered. The chili was also very tasty. I will happily be back again soon.

This was my first sausage roll and pizza from Redwood. I had always heard great things about the sausage roll and it did not disappoint. My deluxe pizza was yummy as well, I loved that the toppings were under all the cheese. Dining in was not an option, as we are having a quarantine but service was great and staff was super quick about getting you out the door. I will be back for more when things get better.

Patio with do booth also does live music on certain nights.

Great local bar downtown. Driving up you notice the front of the store and can find parking on the street or there's a tiny parking lot behind their patio. Sidewalks on each side of the street. Traffic is busy so be careful if you have to cross. Waking in you notice it's old and been around forever. Locals sit at the bar and tables. And they all stare at you when you step inside. I chose to site out on the patio since they just added it. It's adorable. There's a huge yard with corvhole and horseshoes if you bring your own stuff to play. There's a separate little raise patio with a riof for live bands or a dj which they had playing when I went. Several tables with umbrellas that was full of more locals and some stand alone chairs with little tables lined up against the fence rail. There's also another bar outside. Staff friendly and have been there awhile too. Standard beer prices with zero alcohol specials. And the food menu is pretty standard home bar food. I did order fries and the chili which the servers all said was good and the recipes been the same since they opened. Yum Getting my food I was ready to dive in. Chili is thick and full of meat tomatoes and a few beans that's rich in a mahogany brown color. What I was bummed about is they charge you extra to add onions and chees It's served with two crackers and if you ask for more they charge you .95. In fact they charge you for extra anything so keep note. First bite it's hot and rich and thick. Not spicy at all like they said so I asked for hot sauce. I wish I had jalapeño. That would have kicked it up a notch. As well as those onions and cheese that most chili's are served with. A few beans danced inside the sauce but they were easy to pick out. I couldn't stop eating it. I dipped my crisp fries in the chili too but preferred the ketchup instead. Fries were hot fresh crisp and lightly browned. But not worth the $3 price tag for as few fries I got. In fact prices are a steep on a few items. I would go back more if it was closer to me and love supporting local business. Def a fav hangout if I lived closer.

Lexy's Pizza (Spring Street, Fort Wayne) - first time trying this pizza institution…read more I've seen lots of outstanding reviews for Lexy's. How can you live in the Fort and not visit the original Spring Street location that was founded by Lexy Demetroff since 1957? Well...I've now checked that one off my bucket list! I ordered a medium Everything pizza around 4:30p on a busy Friday evening. They quoted me a 40 minute wait time...and they were spot on. Lexy's pizza menu and prices are typical of most non-budget pizza places. They offer deep dish pizzas as well. The Spring street location is small with ample parking in the back. There is thin table that lines two walls with bar stools. I suppose you could eat in. However carry out is most common. The kitchen is wide open to the entry way. You can watch the pizza artisans doing their craft. I found the team here to be very friendly and welcoming while focusing on pizza making. In my first trip to Lexy's I found the pizza to be quite delicious. The crust is thin. The edges are crispy - yes, really crisp. The underside in the middle of the pizza was soft and nicely baked. No obvious added flavoring to the crust. Pretty much a plain flour dough. Lexy's motto is "Generous portions, Quality ingredients"...and that is what I found. The toppings were piled high on a bed of ground up American sausage. The rest of the meats and vegetables were plentiful and tasty. The toppings were held in place by a thick bed of fresh mozzarella cheese. The pizza is well baked as evidenced by the crispy edges and "frico" browned cheese. The browned and slightly crispy cheese added a different taste to the oozing bed of mozzarella that was below the surface. The sauce was not as prominent as I hoped. The toppings dominated the taste. The bit of sauce I could detect was slightly sweet and had a good tomato taste. The whole pizza was nicely moist. You pick up a good blend of different ingredient tastes. Cold Pizza Test - the next morning the cold pizza tasted almost exactly like the pizza from the night before - delicious! The pizza was still very moist. The crust was still very crispy. The flavor from the toppings did tend to faded a little.

Awesome pizza for an affordable price! Sausage Rolls are good too! I usually get the Meats pizza.read more

Pizza: Was delicious! Perfectly cooked and the flavor was perfect. It was thin, light, crunchy crust but not too crunchy, dough nice and soft at the same time. Highly recommend it. Pasta: A bit underwhelming. I felt it could use more sauce and a bit more flavor as it was bland. Portion was decent. The pork should have been cooked more as it was chewy and in a carbonara, i expect the pork to be a tad crispier. Dessert: I am a tiramisu fanatic and I was disappointed when i took a bite of it as it was more like a slice of cake pretending to be a tiramisu. It was yummy but i would not consider this a slice of tiramisu. You can see in my last photo where you see the cake style parts of it. While i do love strawberries, they were an odd touch considering it's supposed to be tiramisu and not a slice of coffee, chocolate flavored cake. Overall i believe that we overpaid for dinner. If i were to return, I would probably just stick to the pizza. I love that they have vegan and gluten free options so that's a plus but other than that, i can't say i will be returning soon. I wanted to give it a 2.5 but not an option so 2 it is!
