Everytime I eat a wrap from Kebab Shop, or Piadina, or any other wraps, I always think damn, I wish this was wrapped in asian onion pancake. Thanks to Liang's Crispy Rolls, my wrap wish came true! I chose the #2 Pork Crispy Roll, with an added egg. The pork was fried pork chop, and it paired really well with the sauce and veggies they added inside.Eggs can amp up any meal, and for this wrap, the egg acts as a second wrap, inside the outside wrap, so you get a bite of everything with every bite! This is something new in the Rowland Heights area. Unlike the traditional crispy pancake or onion pancake style, Liang Crispy Rolls actually added more ingredients to make it more healthier and not just a plain taste. Today is their grand opening day. They open at 9 am, I arrived around 8:40 am. I was expecting a lot of people waiting in line, but I was the first one there. Ordered food and drinks for my friends then was given homemade cupcakes, yum! Since it's their first day, it takes a little longer wait for the food. Because they make their ingredients fresh. Lamb very well seasoned, good balance with the slightly sautéed white onion (almost raw so still had a crunch), on a bed of shredded lettuce, and all wrapped up in a crispy yet slightly chewy pancake. The pancake is similar to a Taiwanese onion pancake minus the onions. Great balance of flavors. However this isn't a meal but a heavy snack. I also ordered the rose oolong tea with cheese foam and it was very refreshing and paired wonderfully with my crispy roll. This snack set me back $16 and some change but 10% off with Yelp check-in. Crispy, flaky, hot & fresh--it was the textbook definition of pan-fried goodness. They were like roti canai's hotter & more attractive cousin, with texture in all the right places. The filling really was just icing on the top. Liang also sells soy milk and some teas, including the Watermelon Green Tea (my favorite). The WGT is made with fresh watermelon and a strong green tea. Saw this place a little while ago and didn't have high expectations, but was curious enough to drive down and try it out. I got a fruity tea from Tea Brick in the same plaza (which was excellent) because this place isn't known for their drinks and I'd rather get what they specialize in. For reference, I came on a weekday around 2 pm. Anyway, I go in and the female staff working there was very friendly. The inside is clean and air-conditioned. I ordered the crispy pork and "crispy" chicken roll because I wouldn't come back for a while and wanted to see which I liked more. The wait was only 10 minutes which was a relief since sometimes unique food shops can have a long wait. I like the packaging the rolls come in. It's wrapped in a wax type paper and then put in a cardboard box so nothing spills out in transit. The crispy chicken roll has teriyaki style chicken, peppers, jalapenos, lettuce, and sauce. Taste wise, I preferred it over the crispy pork roll. It's a bit more flavorful, although both were tasty. The chicken roll isn't spicy so if you like spice, you might want to see if they can make it that way. The crispy pork roll was very decent. The pork they use is quite good quality and didn't seem cheap. However, the pork meat itself is somewhat on the drier side and not juicy. This roll has more of a soy taste than the crispy chicken roll and cabbage as toppings. There's less contrast in flavors than in the chicken crispy roll. The Chinese pancake used for the rolls is sooo good. It is super fresh, with a flaky and doughy texture. If you're going to eat in the car, it does get pretty messy. You might want to ask for a fork as well since the toppings do fall out. Food wise, it's a solid four stars for me. Not mind-blowingly delicious, but worth a try for sure.
