I don't usually write for places unless I am THOROUGHLY impressed. With that being said, I was doing construction work in the city of Walnut, I saw this place on Apple Maps when I searched for "food" and thought I'd come in because the egg salad sandwich looked particularly good (which it was in fact delicious). The food is a small part of what I was given though, as this places service is outstanding. The owner is the sweetest lady ever, and you can tell she loves serving the people in her community. This lunch spot is in fact a STAPLE of the local area. It was very common for me coming in over the course of the month to see firefighters, postal workers, construction workers, police officers, etc. all sitting down and eating. The owner of course knew many of these people, so you know they enjoy coming in. This restaurant SERVES the community and I am not surprised at all that everyone in there enjoys the company and food. What an amazing place. Although my work has ended in Walnut, you can bet that I will be visiting next time I am out there. I hope the owner sees this and knows how much I appreciate her and her staff! I am hoping for this businesses continued success, it deserves an award or some sort of recognition. This is hands down the best sandwich spot in town. I've been here twice now, and both visits have exceeded my expectations. The food is amazing, but what really stood out was the customer service. The girl behind the counter had a great personality, explained everything thoroughly, and made the entire experience enjoyable. She overheard that I don't eat pork for religious reasons and immediately offered to completely sanitize her station before preparing my sandwich. That level of thoughtfulness and respect meant a lot to me. It's rare to find a place that delivers both excellent food and exceptional service, but this spot does exactly that. My Lunch Spot is definitely a hidden gem to the city. I drive around this area often and I've always been curious about this Deli Shop. I have not been able to check them due to the hours, but recently I had time to stop in. They are located in a business park and parking is a bit limited in the front. You don't see much from the outside because of the tinted windows, but inside they are working efficiently. The staff greated me when I entered, by the vibe of the restaurant its a family owned business. The staff was welcoming throughout my entire time. I asked which hot sandwich was their most popular. The gentlemen said the Beef Bulgogi Sandwich. I opted for that one and the 6in option. You can choose your style of bread as well. The inside has plenty of seating and they will bring the sandwich out to you. I would say this sandwich was as advertised! It was tremendous! The sweet and savory flavors of bulgogi in between bread is a recipe for success! Flavor bombs in every bite! The staff even asked if I wanted jalapeños and of course I couldn't say no. It added perfect amount of heat and elevated the tastes of the sandwich. I would say My Lunch Spot definitely delivered for me on my first visit! I have been passing by My Lunch Spot many times and was wondering what it was. Then I found out about this place by searching for sandwiches nearby. It's definitely a hidden gem. The place looks clean, and it has many tables inside. The lady was very friendly, and she greeted me when I walked in. I got their Tuna salad cold sandwich (Reg 6 inch $11.50, or Large 10 inch $14.95) with toasted sourdough and Clam Chowder (small size $4.95) with 3 crackers. Wow -- My Lunch Spot did not disappoint. My partner and I travel from LA to Riverside pretty often to visit family, and we're always on the hunt for new food spots along the way. After checking out their website and seeing the detailed sandwich photos, we were sold immediately. And what better time to write a quick review than when sitting in traffic. We placed a pickup order for two sandwiches: * The Turkey Club with extra provolone * The Bulgogi Beef Sandwich with jalapeños When I walked in, the ladies behind the counter greeted me right away and had my order ready to go. Fast, friendly service -- always appreciated when you're hungry and sitting through SoCal traffic. I also ordered a combo with a large drink and chips, and tried the Lavender Earl Grey iced tea. First thing I noticed: the place was spotless. Seriously clean and well kept, which honestly says a lot about a restaurant. Now the important part -- the sandwiches. As soon as I opened the Bulgogi Beef sandwich and pulled the pre-cut halves apart, the melted cheese stretched perfectly between both sides. At that point I already knew it was going to be good. And it absolutely was. The jalapeños added just the right amount of heat without overpowering the flavor of the beef. The Turkey Club was equally satisfying. Everything tasted fresh, balanced, and made with care. Even the pickles stood out -- crisp, flavorful, and surprisingly the perfect addition to each bite. And one more thing: the Lavender Earl Grey iced tea was really refreshing. Just a heads up, it's unsweetened, but after adding a packet of sugar it was perfect. Before even trying the food, the service was great. The staff was friendly, engaging, and helpful since it was my first time there. The ambiance was also cool, especially with the iconic Lunch Atop a Skyscraper photo from 1932 hanging on the wall as you eat. You can custom the sandwich based on what you want and you can definitely taste the quality of the ingredients. They have seating inside too.
