Being a little disappointed with the local Chinese food in my area, I thought I would try M W after seeing the most current reviews, and discounting the bad older ones. Here is my report: overall the food was not terrible, but left a lot to be desired. Hot and sour soup was very thin with very little vegetables, or tofu, very thin, and they used shredded carrots instead of bean sprouts (a first for any h&s soup that I have ever eaten). Beef chow fun was a soft, gloppy mess, so congealed in the container, that it would not come out without cutting it in slices, with very little vegetables. Vegetable egg foo young, another disappointment, somewhat tasteless unless you used the extremely salty gravy that comes with it. I really wanted to like this place since the only descent food that is in the area for me is located at Consumer Square, a little out of the way for me. Mr. Wonton's prices are higher than the other area spots which would have been fine if the food quality matched them which it did not. read more

It's rare that I give a 5 star, but this place deserves it. I ordered shrimp and broccoli with white rice. Customer service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Food was ready super quick and honestly exceeded my expectations. The quality and flavor of the food was awesome. They gave so many huge shrimp- great portion size for a lunch special. I had forgotten that I had tried this place out. Tried to order from 2 other already proven Chinese takeout, but, they were closed. And with the discovery of my previous experience and review...not much has changed...this place doe not serve half decent food. Bland, and flavorless even with asking for VERY SPICY. The Pork entree was so tough to the chew and was drier than palm springs with a flavorless sauce. The Wonton soup had a greasy mouth feel. Where are the scallions, the seasoning? The "Spicy" Lo Mein was worthless and a complete waste of money. If you're going to ask if a customer wants their food SPICY, then why would the restaurant not make the food spicy? It pretty much was Highschool Cafeteria Food, only that the high school was better quality. General Tso was, ummm...just no, just no. The Beef in Garlic Sauce literally tasted like the pork dish and the Lo Mein, very specific to make this SPICY. Nope. I think the Scoville scale on this dish would put this as a 2, just a 2 not 200 just 2. A Jalapeno is at about 2500 which shows you how little this food was seasoned. If we did not live so far from this place, I think I would return the food and ask for our money back. Just horrendous. Into the trash it goes because no one will eat this. read more

We have been loyal customers for over a decade. We have tried almost everything on their menu, and highly recommend many items, especially their steamed chicken dumplings, chicken with cashews, mongolian beef and the best mai fun. They are very kind people and will make you anything you wish, which is great if you have food sensitivities or dietary needs. The portions are generous. They offer delivery, but we always do pick up which is very quick. I recommend Mr. Wonton for lunch, too. Their pricing and portions are competitive and their Wonton soup is a light flavorful chicken broth. read more

I was in the area and decided to grab some Chinese food for dinner. Although it was a bit dated, I was met with a smiling employee who took my order. Price was reasonable ($8.48 for chicken and broccoli combo with rice and egg roll) and I was told 15 minute wait time. My food came out lightning fast (between 5-10min) because they weren't busy. While it was definitely hot, it was only average in taste. The steamed chicken melts in your mouth but the rice was just so-so in taste. So while service was good and the food came out accurate, hot, and fast, the food was only average in taste. read more

I feel like Mr. Wonton definitely deserves more than a 3.5 star rating! We got delivery via DoorDash and the food was excellent. We ordered Crab cheese Rangoon's (best I've had in a very long time) spring rolls, Mongolian beef, chicken Lomein, chicken and broccoli and gen tso chicken. All of which were excellent I live local and I've tried best food in town (both ML locations), yummy garden, green garden. This place is the best I've had in the area. We ordered delivery via Doordash as we are too far away for their own delivery system. My friends and I thought this was some of the best Chinese food we've had in the area. (Admittedly - AC is pretty lacking in decent Chinese food.) We got shrimp eggrolls (they were fine), and hot and sour soup (very tasty). Our entrees were really good - a hunan beef and a mix of General Tso's chicken and shrimp. The General Tso's could have been a little spicier for my taste (easily remedied by some cayenne) but was perfect for my friends. The beef did have a nice little spice and the beef was really tender. We've had a terrible time finding any decent Chinese Food delivery in this area. We've tried many places and this was the worst yet. The order was incorrect. The egg rolls were about half the size of a normal sized egg roll and soggy. Fried wontons were not crispy, so doughy, and had so little meat in them, it was pathetic. The incorrect dish we received, billed as roast pork with garlic sauce was about 80% soggy overcooked vegetables and the occasional slice of overcooked tasteless roast pork. Not sure where the "garlic" was, but it wasn't in this dish. The only edible items were the shrimp toast and the sesame chicken. We tossed the rest. Stay away from this place. read more

No no no no no! Do not go here. The food had metal shards in it. Unbelievably disgusting! Shrimp tasted like they had been infected with chemicals--very fake tasting shrimp. I did show the Asian gentleman that took the order that the food had a metal piece in it (maybe from a scouting pad or something) and he did apologize and asked if we wanted to have the dish remade but at that point, we didn't. Three words....dont do it. Got my order completely wrong, ended up getting to the hotel with something very different from what was ordered. I have changed my review on Mr. Wonton a few times now. Every time I start to dislike their food or service, they gradually go back to doing good again and their food gets better or their service is better. While it's annoying when they aren't doing well, I can appreciate the fact that they're trying to do good instead of giving up entirely. With that being said, I recently had their general tsos and steamed dumplings and it was perfectly made and tasted amazing. I usually spend between $40-$60 on food from them, so I get pretty upset if the taste of the food doesn't match the money I spent. I think Mr. Wonton's quality justifies the money spent and I definitely recommend them, despite the once and a while screw-ups. read more

I do not know how anyone goes anywhere else. This place consistently has the best Chinese food in the area. The food is delicious, the vegetables are fresh, and the service is second to none. I highly recommend the Singapore Mei Fun and chicken with string beans, both are delicious. I love their garlic sauce, as well. The owner is innovative and is constantly trying out new menu items. I ordered the Beef with Mushrooms and wonton/egg drop soup. I got this delivered to the Hampton Inn and the delivery was timely and the whole order was very reasonably priced. The portions were decent sized and definitely filled me up, as I did not finish everything. The Beef was tender and the mushrooms seemed pretty fresh. The sauce had a good taste and was not bland at all, but was not salty. The Egg drop soup was okay, but did not have a ton of flavor. I added some soy sauce to it and it was good to go. I'm a truck driver that's on the road at least 2 nights a week. Usually after I get to the hotel I will go have a nice sit down meal. Last night I wanted to veg and watch TV. I came across this place on yelp with the highest rating. I ordered through Yelp and the food was delivered long before the estimated time. The delivery guy was extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was off the charts! General Tso's, extra spicy and they didn't disappoint!! Portions were much bigger than I get back home in Harrisburg. The entire transaction was seamless!!
