Visiting Lakewood Ranch it seemed only appropriate to eat at one of the establishments there. When we were finally taken to be seated we had to stand around waiting for the hostess and a waitress to resolve some conflict going on between them. We have no idea whether this was related to us and the table we were being seated at or whether it had to do with one of them stealing the other's boyfriend. Absolutely unprofessional whatever it was about. Get the customer seated and then the two of you can take it out back... Next up was the menu - whoa, we weren't looking for $$$$ priced items for lunch! Shockingly expensive entrees for lunch. Seemed like they were seriously rubbing it in with the prices. Unfortunately I don't think this restaurant is to my taste. I tried it once before, last year for lunch, and didn't enjoy the meal at all. But, I've read so many positive reviews on the Facebook community page that I though maybe it was a one off. We decided to give it another try this week for dinner. We ordered the fried Brussels sprouts appetizer, to start, which were more burnt then fried. We waited a long time for our main dishes and when they arrived, I was disappointed in the presentation of the food. I would classify it more like fast food dining. From the recommended Meiomi Pinot noir to their delectable crispy Brussels sprouts , every sip of the wine and bite of the starter was worth my trip to their restaurant . The food is actually good and for the most part the servers are great and polite. But the past few times I went the hosts have been so problematic I haven't been back in a few months unfortunately. I wish I could go back because it's so close and is good but the rudeness always makes me change my mind. The last time I went was the final nail in the coffin. The host wasn't only rude, but she forgot about me. Since she was so rude and inconsiderate, I had a feeling she would forget about me. I approached the host stand to confirm she didn't forget about me. She said she didn't. But then 20 minutes past the initial 20 minutes of waiting, she comes to us and says "sorry, I totally forgot about you". ( ...nice ...) Because I wasn't seated in time, the waitress told me (after they brought my wife's food out to her already) they "just ran out of...." The only thing I went there to eat. If I wasn't rudely forgotten about, I might have got what I wanted and brushed off the rudeness like I usually do. However this time the food couldn't even remedy the situation. We came here for Father's Day and had such a delicious lunch! The rotisserie chicken arancini balls were made well and the accompanying tomato pesto-like dipping sauce was amazing. Honestly the worst meal I've had since I moved to Sarasota. My husband and I went there because we recently moved to Lakewood ranch and it looked nice. There was flies swarming us, other guests and the food even though we were sitting inside. Our waiter was young and seemed over whelmed so we tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but it was not good service. It took him over 10 mins to bring us drinks and I saw our food sitting under the lamp for about 10 mins before it was brought to us. The fries were very generic and needed a ton of salt and pepper. I got a pulled pork sandwich and it tasted like it was from a can. I am only giving it two stars because the decor was very modern and nice. I would never go back. read more
