I have had 5 or 6 good experiences at Libby's, hence the 2 stars but one very bad experience that I felt compelled to share. My last visit I was served raw chicken. As a pregnant woman, it made me ill right away. I believe the chicken I ate was not as raw as most of the chicken that I left on the plate. Our server was shocked that it was so visibly raw. Still it was enough to make me sick right away. We were very nice to our server, as we understood it was not his fault at all. I excused myself and as I sat by our car in the parking lot physically getting ill (so embarrassing)and needing to leave, my fiancé was charged for our meal. The chicken was later removed at his insistence, but he was still charged for his sandwich and our soft drinks. Really? I'll never be back again. read more

I received an email offering 35% of any to go order of 20.00 or more. We decided to do a pick up bc of the great discount. I picked a time and placed the order. We are only 4 miles away and though this would be easy. My husband was there right on time as the email stated that it was ready. It wasn't actually until 35 minutes later. No worries... He came back with the discounted meal. Oh boy... it was definitely discounted! My crab cakes (2 ) from the appetizer menu were burnt and tasted burnt. My husbands shrimp scampi looked lost in its container. It was flavorless. Our 4 year old granddaughter's hamburgers (2 sliders) we like hockey pucks, too hard for her to eat. Her fries were put in a brown paper that was so greasy and ice cold. We have dined at Libby's several times and it was always delicious. This 50.00 ( including tip) discounted meal was worse than McDonalds. If it's too good to be true... it probably is!! When we were first seated down we waited a long time for our drinks to be taken. Following our waiter was impatient and seemed a little bit rude to us asking questions. However, the food was amazing. We ordered the steak and frites and carbonara, which both had great flavor and seasoning. If the service would have been better I would have rated it higher, yet due to the inconvenient service I gave it 4 stars. read more

We have dined here many times in the last 2 months. Previous visits were good. However last night we were greeted as we sat down by a very abrupt server who didn't bother to say "hello " only " if you are drinking, I'll need to see your id ". We were not ordering any drinks. When she took our order, I explained that I was highly allergic to dairy and if they would be able to cook my impossible burger on a separate surface with no butter. She replied ," We don't do that". ( not true because they have done it twice before for me). Another server gave us our food. ( we also had to ask another server for utensils). She never came back to check on us or if we needed anything else. Clearly management needs to fix the problems with the wait staff. Customers should not be treated like this. read more

Arrived at 11 am we're seated outside; we're delayed in getting qualified server to take complete of order (2) of us . Also when we arrived , we had to listen to non restaurant type music coming through speakers , we had to request twice to turn off this music . It seemed they didn't care . Our server was either busy or she didn t understand the basics of being a server. Our food chicken club and all American breakfast was extremely long in bringing to our table . I have never experienced anything like this at a restaurant in my life. We sat down and ordered from a very nice waiter and asked if we could have them turn the heater on , there was a chill in the air and it was even colder inside. After a few minutes, the general manager came to our table and said I'm sorry but I have to turn off this heater! We don't turn them on unless it's below 65°. If I keep this on then I will have to turn all of them on and it's expensive! They have gone up 30%. It is 70° outside and very comfortable. I'm sorry, but who are you to tell me if I'm comfortable or not! This was so rude we were completely flabbergasted!! I have been to this restaurant several times in the past and have always had a good experience but I will never go back because of this experience!!! read more

We have been to Libby's twice now, both great experiences. Our first time was for dinner. I ordered a steak and it was delicious. Juicy and well cooked. Our second time was for brunch, and the Benedict was very good. We loved the crab cakes and bottomless mimosas is always a win. Service both times was attentive and friendly. I went to Libby's in Lakewood Ranch for lunch yesterday with a friend. No one came to take our order for a good 10 minutes. Service was slower than slow. Getting our check was an ordeal. Libby's sent out texts inviting us to order. When we did it was complete chaos getting the order filled. A text I received said the order was received but not accepted yet. So we called the number to check. An hour had gone by. They told us the order would be ready in 30 mins if we wanted to pick it up. That was after being placed on hold for 10 mins then hung up on). I showed up in 30 mins-they said it would be 30 more mins. Then, I received a text saying it would be 2 more hours !!I ran into another woman that was waiting and she said hers was already 1.5 hours late and they told her it was gonna be another 1.5 hours. 2.5 hours after I ordered, I noticed Togo bags sitting by the kitchen. I looked through tickets and found my order just sitting there. Unfortunately one of the dishes out of 3 was wrong:(. Anyway, it is a total mess over there. I won't be ordering from there ever again. We finally got to try Libby's this week. We didn't have terrible service as other reviewers have noted. But it was not great either. Although our server was friendly she never offered to refill drinks. My husband liked his fish sandwich. I ordered a burger medium well but it came out medium rare. I had to wait for another one and it was better but very greasy. Of course by then my husband finished eating. The fries were strange, I didn't like those at all. So disappointing. I have been ordering takeout from here for over a year and while I loved it at first at has been on a steady decline both in terms of food and serviced. I finally had to comment tonight - ordered two kale caesar salads ($12 each) plus crab cakes and a couple of other items ( meatballs and croquettes). The crab cakes were burned and I tried to make the best of it, but I called the restaurant about the salads because I really wanted the kale caesar and have had it in the past. Basically they said I could drive back and get a new salads or they could "write down my name and when I came back in they would comp me with something". I asked if they could put that in an email and also asked what "something" was. No clear answer from the manager on the other line. This might sound minor overall, but I have now had multiple issues with ordering from them (including not having my family dinner ready on Dec 24 for my extended family that I had placed days before. ) I just tried to eat the inside of the crab cake just so I could try to salvage the dinner. Basically spent $60 on food we dont want/isn't edible. read more

It's really good to have a really nice restaurant that you don't have to cross I-75 to patronize. Went to breakfast brunch. For $10 they have bottomless Bloody Mary's which are quite good. The ambiance is airy and fresh, and maybe a little loud, but totally acceptable. We all went for the Eggs Benedict, and oh wow what a treat. Rather than use the tired old English Muffins (which are hard to cut), they have hand made potato pancakes as a base. The texture is better... the taste is way better... and combine that with perfectly cooked eggs and seasoned ham, it was a real treat. Plan on coming back for dinner and/or happy hour. Four of dined on "Wine Wednesday' at Libby's on May 19th. Selected bottles were half price. I had the FishnChips which claimed to be Chilean Sea Bass on the menu. It had a nice breaded coating not too thick and was nice and crispy served with a side order of their show string fried potatoes and side of slaw. The fish was perfectly cooked and well worth the price of $15.50. My brussel sprouts and stated they were very good. The others in the party had the crab cakes and some sort of salad with chicken on top. Both said it was very good. We all enjoyed our meal and will return. The service provided by Brittany was outstanding. She was very attentive and had that friendly personality that just made the entire dining experience very enjoyable. read more
