The staff were friendly with us. Our server Lisa was very nice, checked on our table frequently and provided us with a good experience. We all enjoyed our food. The food portions are a good size and the food had good flavor. We ordered: house plate special, plain pancakes, very berry French toast, a Greek salad, the slammer, a buffalo wrap and the Denver omelette. First timers and came with a small group of women from the neighborhood. Clean and nicely decorated space, which was busy when we first arrived. They have a larger patio space outdoors, which I asked and discovered they are dog friendly so happy to find another venue we can bring the girls to. The patio was still shaded when we left about noon so it's a good spot for pups. Two of our group was already seated when we arrived so we joined them upon arrival. Lisa, our server, immediately came over for drink orders and confirm we were still waiting for others to join. Lisa, was so patient and friendly while the group gathered and decided what to order. I asked for a glass of O.J. which was sans pulp for those who don't like it in their O.J. I prefer some to jazz it up but it was a good glass of juice. They have a good sized menu with both breakfast and lunch offerings, and it took a bit to decide on what we were eating. I decided on the Corned Beef Hash with two eggs over-medium and a pancake. I asked for it on a separate plate and she said no worries, that's how it is served. The hash was sooo good! Cooked to a crispy crust and so flavorful and not salty at all, which I loved because sometimes hash can be salty. It also came with hash browns, which were cooked perfectly and not greasy in the least. I asked for my eggs over-medium and they too were cooked to perfection. It came with one pancake (I chose this in place of toast) and it was good size cake, with a nice malty flavor. It's sprinkled lightly with powder sugar and a dispense of warm syrup was provided as well. Really good breakfast! Wife went with the 2 egg breakfast with bacon and sourdough toast. They serve a wonderful homemade blackberry jam with the toast, which was really good and jammy. She also had her eggs done the same way as me and they were cooked to perfection. The bacon was perfect and she commented about the hash browns being cooked to a crunchy outer and tender on the inside. Meeting an old friend for lunch. I'd never heard of this place before, so I went in with an open mind and no real expectations. Always hoping a local recommendation turns out great. *Service: the service was fair. Our waitress spent most of the time sitting in the booth across from us on her phone and checked in occasionally. A few times we had to ask for things we needed. Nothing rude, just not especially attentive or engaged. Definitely didn't feel like her #1 priority. *Food: I ordered the tuna *melt*. It was alright, but nothing to write home about. The tuna itself was relatively cold (should have been warm on a melt) and lacked flavor, the cheese wasn't melted (it's a "melt", right?), and the bread was good. I dipped and drenched in salt, pepper, ranch and hot sauce to give it some flavor. The fries were good, hot and tasty. Overall, it felt like a mid-level café sandwich made by a basic "cook", not a well curated restaurant sandwich. My lunch buddy ordered a smothered omelette that looked great, and he said it was very good, so that was good. *Ambiance: the atmosphere was decent. Very basic, a bit cold feeling, café-like, casual, and reasonably comfortable. Nothing stood out strongly other than it seemed pretty clean and bright. *Value: my tuna melt and fries, with no drink, was $16. Not great, not terrible. It felt like an $8-$10 sandwich max for what I got, not a standout value. I posted a picture of their specials board so you can get a feel for the value. *Overall: everything here was fair, food, service, and ambiance while value was not great. Nothing bad, nothing memorable. A three-star experience for me. Decent restaurant for breakfast or lunch. They have some different items and lack a few of the usual I have come to expect. Seated almost immediately on most occasions. I've dined here with family, joined hubby for lunch here, met the (PC) gals here for a meal, and even met some fellow Dane peeps following Dogs Day in the Garden @ DBG. Service has always been pretty good. Food generally good. Well, except the coffee. I thought the coffee was weak. They have a good size patio area which is well shaded and offers high tops and standard seating. One of the biggest drawbacks, no Mimosas. Oh, and parking is sometimes at a premium. Stopped by when visiting friends in the area. I'm really happy we ate here, it was a great experience across the board. The menu has a strong selection for breakfast, lunch, and brunch. I decided to go with lunch and had their julienne salad, which was huge! It wasn't overly loaded with lettuce as filler, plenty to enjoy. I also had a bowl of their Tuscany tomato and rice soup. I don't remember the exact name of it. Again, a good sized bowl. The restaurant was quite busy but not overly loud. There was some confusion with the wait list that we needed to follow up on but other than that, a great experience across the board. The sauerkraut was tasty and the bread seemed fresh. It was perfectly toasted. The server brought me 1000 island. I was surprised it wasn't already on the sandwich. The fries were pretty great-- very hot. Crispy exterior and soft interior! The iced tea was cold, loaded with ice and came with lemon. Excellent. A pickle was included. The soup....the reason I stopped in. It was hot, thick, and came with fresh lemon. It was a creamy chicken orzo soup. It was very good but did need a bit of salt. I never salt things but this needed something. Still-- best soup I've found outside of the Midwest so far. I took some home for another meal. I almost didn't want to go because of the owner's message to me previously. If a customer has an opinion- take it or leave it! We all have so many choices of restaurants in this area. Definitely a popular place. Quite busy but the wait flow went smoothly. The ambiance was a bit noisy due to the amount of many conversations of people. Not much of an inside waiting area but plenty of room outside on their patio. We were part of the lunch crowd. Excellent service, our server checked on us often & didn't rush us. I can't remember what other people in my party ordered, but I had a cup of the soup of the day, which was vegetable & the a Reuben sandwich which the Thousand Island dressing was not included but by request. When visiting my friend in the Chandler area, we wanted to grab breakfast after watching a Tottenham match at a local pub nearby. Nothing beats a hearty breakfast after a breakfast pint and this place did satisfy our breakfast craving. When arriving we were seated immediately and the place seemed very spacious to accommodate larger parties/winter crowds. Once seated, we were greeted and advised the waitress would be with us shortly. Due to it being my first visit, I needed some time with the menu deciding but my friend knew immediately since she frequents this establishment. I decided on Garden Skillet ($14.95) and Coffee ($3.25). Overall, I felt like almost $15 for a skillet that didn't have any meat to be a bit pricey in comparison to other locations. Though I'm sympathetic to the rising cost of goods with inflation. It also didn't seem as seasoned as I would like, and lacked the wow factor. It still is a solid dish, but I would pick a different entree if I return. With friendly service and proximity to my friend's house, I will likely return in the future and would recommend to others for a typical local breakfast spot. read more

The French toast without the apples was okay. The temperature throughout was in consistent. The apples were warm to hot, but the French toast slices were warm to cool. Not sure if the French toast was sitting waiting for the apples to be warmed, so the toast cooled off. I was told the cinnamon French toast lacked flavor and needed the syrup. The cleaning crew were AWESOME and on top of things, by taking away plates and dishes, as soon as, they were ready to be cleared. Our waitress not only, rolled her eyes after we requested more napkins but she also had extra charges on the bill which, were unexplainable. She did tell us that, it was busy. This is no excuse to not provide better customer service and to overcharge. When we asked this waitress about the charges, she mentioned that the extra fees were on the menu but, they weren't listed anywhere on the menu. We looked that menu over and over to see no findings, nor did the front have a note on up charging customers. The waitress needs proper training and preferably review the menu prices before, having a field day on receipts by adding her own charges. Intentionally or not Intentionally, this is a big deal! Honestly, I left a nice tip in hopes that it is split with the staff( The other employees had ideal customer service). Being honest!!! On my recent visit, I decided to go with this Carne Asada skillet with a pancake on the side, which was a really good compliment so you got something sweet and you got something savory. The food was good, but I was not blown away. Everything is perfectly fine, a ton of parking, and nice service. I asked if I should get the pancakes or the French toast, and the server immediately said that the pancakes were the best. I'm extremely picky about pancakes, because if they are gummy at all, I do not like them. Unfortunately, the pancakes were gummy. The flavor was good, but I did not enjoy the texture. I have eaten here several times but today, I was deeply disappointed with my experience. I was overcharged on my bill. Rather than charge it as a meal, I was charged for each individual item so my bill came to $30.00 just for two eggs w a slice of cheese, cup of coffee, 1 blueberry pancake and a fruit cup which was supposed to be a substitution for no potatoes and bacon. I tried to take it up with the owner and she simply said that I had a "lot of extras". My last time eating here. I have known she and her sister since they started this spot and was one of the people who helped to promote them with the City of Chandler....very disappointing! read more
