Lick Honest Ice Cream is one of my favorite ice cream shops in the city! In case you are not familiar with this brand, they are originally from Austin and all their ice cream is made with real ingredients and they also work with local farmers. They have numerous ice cream flavors to choose from, as well as some seasonal ones. My go-to ice cream is their goat cheese, thyme and honey ice cream. If you want something that is subtly sweet but not overpowering, you gotta try it! One unique thing about this particular location inside The Pearl is that they also have a window where you can place an order without going inside. This is particularly helpful to families with strollers since the indoor space can be a little tight. With that in mind, they do offer a few tables inside but are very limited. Last but not least, they have a great loyalty program which I recommend taking advantage of, plus they offer military discount.

It was nearly 100 degrees Fahrenheit on 5.24.2025 with the sun on its way down. My daughters were cranky! We walked by Lick Honest Ice Creams. Concierge at our hotel recommended it and we do now too. The three of us each had two scoops in a cup ($21.09) and tried the following: Coffee with Cream (x 2) Lady Bird Lavender Crisp Goat Cheese, Thyme, & Honey Fresh Mint w/Chocolate Chunks Texas Sheet Cake What fun flavors! Great, fast service even with a long line. We walked the river path nearby on the shaded side since it was packed inside the cool shop.

I loved all of the unique flavors at this ice cream shop. My husband and I shared: - Goat Cheese, Thyme, & Honey - Roasted Beets & Fresh Mint - Sweet Cream & Strawberry - Lady Bird Lavender Crisp I enjoyed all of them--Sweet Cream & Strawberry was my favorite. Usually strawberry ice cream isn't my go to because I like weirder flavors, but this one was really good.

Stopped by Lick Honest Ice Cream to treat myself, and it was the perfect way to end my Sunday! I ordered a single scoop of the chocolate chocolate (dairy-free) on a waffle cone, and it absolutely hit the spot‍ rich, refreshing, and just the right amount of sweetness. The quality of their ingredients really shines through, and I love that they have great dairy-free options without compromising on flavor. Friendly staff, clean shop, and good vibes all around. Can't wait to come back and try more flavors!

Came here during a hot Saturday afternoon after walking along the Riverwalk. Thank goodness this was here. Such a nice reprieve. Place was obviously packed. They had so many interesting flavors. I got the Just Peachy and the other members of my group got the Cilantro Mint, Goat cheese + thyme and Beets flavors. The peachy was a perfect fruity ice cream when it's 98 degrees out. I was hesitant to try the herbaceous flavors but they ended up complementing all the flavors really well. They also offer a 10% military discount!

Such a good trip to the ice cream shop on a beautiful day. The flavors were both amazing- and as someone who does not like chocolate, I was happy to see multiple options of other flavors. Also worthy to note was that my waffle cone never dripped, so I didn't get my hands all sticky. Will definitely return.

Houstonian visiting for the weekend! I was so excited to try Lick honest ice cream here since it was recommended in Reddit. I had the coffee with cream and fresh mint and chocolate chunk. My bf got 2 scoops of caramel salt lick. Omg it was the best I've ever had. We had to come back a second time and this time I got caramel salt lick and fresh mint and chocolate chunk while my bf got the coconut cream pie and caramel salt lick. So damn tasty. I was so sad leaving this gem and go back to Houston.... And I found out today we had multiple stores here as well! SCORE!!

Good stuff. I mean it was $25 for 4 singles (1 scoop in a cup) and an iced tea, so it better be good. Quick service. My boys tried a few different samples before picking and it was all good stuff. I got the Bourbon Pecan Blondie. It was bourbon flavor with pecans and nice size bits of blondies in it. That was soooo good! Nothing bad to say, they were out of hand sanitizer but whatever. The ice cream was cold and hit the spot!

Lick's ice creams are so light and fresh. The local flavors and ingredients make it super special and worth supporting! I love that they have non-dairy ice creams and the option of taking pints to-go. The rotating flavors are always soooo good and you hate to see them go when the month is over :( I wish they could all be permanent flavors! My go to flavor is the dark chocolate olive oil & sea salt. They have fun flavors like beet, lavender, thyme, goat cheese, grapefruit, etc. Get a punch card and try them all! Great service always and such a cute location in the Rim commons park!

The dairy free tart toasted coconut was bomb! I only ordered a small single scoop, but that one scoop transported me to summer afternoon eating a coconut key lime pie. Toasted coconut ice cream paired with lemon-lime curd....the combo was to die for. It had lots of toasted coconut too. I'll have to order a bowl of it next time lol I received an email for $5 off my next visit, yay! And they do offer military discount.

This plaza Lick is in is called "The Pearl," but I just can't help myself. Growing up a Pirates of the Caribbean fan, how could I not say "The Black Pearl." I lowkey still play that theme music when I really need to lock in. I kept on wanting to crack Jack Sparrow jokes, but we were meeting my buddies' girlfriend and I didn't want her to think I was insane. Plus, I know they weren't that funny so I kept them to myself. Lick, located in the heart of the Black Pearl, delivered one of my favorite ice cream flavors I've had in a MINUTE. Blueberry crumble. It actually tasted like real blueberry, and had little bites of actual crumble sprinkled in. I paired it with a honey vanilla bean flavor and it was oddly reminiscent of a Tony Parker and Manu Ginobli pairing. All the ingredients are locally sourced, AND IT SHOWS! Damn I just looked at their website for a little research and look at this about section: "We never use artificial colors or flavors, high fructose corn syrup or preservatives, ever! We can trace every single ingredient we use to its source. Ice cream shouldn't just taste good -- we believe it should also be good. All of the milk and cream used to make our ice creams comes from single herd, family-owned farms where the welfare of their grass-fed cows is the highest priority." Damn that is music to my ears. Shoutout to Lick, man. Post cigarette, this locally sourced ice cream was exactly what I needed for a night cap. What better way to close this review than with a quote from the great and powerful Jack Sparrow: "Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate." IG @jnov_ Tiktok @jnov_reviews

Lick is the BEST!! I absolutely love their ice creams--always such a treat. The rotating menu keeps things fun and exciting, and every flavor I've tried has been amazing. The ice cream is so creamy and smooth without feeling heavy or full of additives to make it thick--it just tastes fresh and real. Definitely one of my go-to spots when I'm craving something sweet! Plus, being at the Pearl makes it an even bigger win.

This shop sells fudge, truffles, candied apples, and - what I came for - ice cream! They had a lot of ice cream flavors to choose from, a least a couple dozen. The smiling young woman working behind the ice cream counter offered to give tastes, but I had already figured out which flavors I wanted. I chose two scoops in a cup, one of Cappucino Chip and the other Turtle Cheesecake. They have several tables to sit at, some along a hallway and more in a back room. I took a seat and was in awe of the huge scoops given. The Cappuccino Chip had a mild flavor (I prefer it stronger) but a fair number of tiny chocolate chips. The Turtle Cheesecake had an excellent cheesecake flavor with swirls of caramel, praline pecans, and caramel-filled mini turtles. I'm usually not fond of nuts in my ice cream but I actually enjoyed the pralines. In my humble opinion, there were too few turtles. But I still loved it. If you're in the mood for a cold, creamy treat while visiting the Alamo, you'll find this to be the perfect place to visit.

The real issue came at the cash register. The woman handling payments was, unfortunately, not kind at all. In fact, "rude" would be the most generous description. It actually took my wife about ten minutes just to complete the payment for a couple of ice creams, which felt longer than the ice cream itself took to melt. What made it even more uncomfortable was watching how she interacted with other employees. It wasn't just unprofessional--it was the kind of scene you'd expect in a low-budget psychological thriller where you start wondering if someone should call for backup. So while the ice cream itself and the front-line staff were great, the overall experience was overshadowed by the atmosphere at the register. Small, crowded, and unkind is not a combination that brings us back. We'll pass next time.
