I wanted to like this place; it's located near a really nice kid-friendly green space. That's the best part. The lady working at the shop was very cold, colder than the paletas. The paletas were overpriced, but it would have been okay if they had any flavor or the service was good, both were non-existent. This was our first experience with Paletas, and they were quite tasty. It was a bit difficult to find the place at first, but we were treated to a wonderful cold dessert on a hot day once we did. Place is super small with only one table, plan to take to go or eat outside. I was let down by this place. I got a watermelon, strawberry lime, and bubble gum. All were lacking in flavor. The strawberry lime was way too tarte. The bubblegum tasted like sweet milk, could hardly taste any bubble gum flavor. The watermelon was meh. There are SO many cool finds in the #Hemisfair like this paleta place called Paleteria San Antonio. As soon as we exited the garage and sauntered onto the plaza, we were immediately captivated by this bright signage. My girls love a good paleta (popsicle) and it was certainly a warm day. I promised them we would try it after we finished a tour of the Magik Theatre. It's a small store front & I imagine it can be quite tight in those busy hot summer days! There are 16 different flavors available at any given time. But that's not all! They have SA staples such as mangonada cups, cucumber or fruit cups where you can add tajin, chamomile, etc, hot Cheetos with cheese, caramel apples and some clothing. The prices are very reasonable and everything tasted fresh! I tried the watermelon paleta and it was so good! I didn't get a chance to try the cookies n creme paleta as the 12 y/o devoured it so quickly lol. I foresee us coming here each time we visit the Hemisfair. #PaletaSA read more

We found this place on the recommendation of our Airbnb. So we came here with a preconception that it would be thick, creamy Mexican ice cream. But this cute little shop in the park sells popsicles. We were in the area for dinner and walked over to check out Yanaguana Gardens since that was on my bucket list. On the way to Yanaguana Gardens, we saw this shop and had to stop by to see what's going on. We were pretty full from dinner so this was perfectly light for a dessert. There were many flavors to choose from. You can see which ones were low or had run out likely from their popularity. Very reasonably priced at $3 each. I decided on the guava and pineapple one. It surely was authentic and had real fruit because there were guava seeds in it. I did have to eat it carefully because I didn't want to break a tooth. It's because of the seeds that I took off a star on my review. My husband had the pistachio one and I had a bite. It was good. I think he was expecting it to taste more like the ice cream. I told him that it's a paleta which would be on the lighter side. Thankful for the outdoor seating to enjoy the paletas before heading over to the garden. The ice cream part was like sweet cereal milk and the fruity pebbles weren't just on the outside. The whole paleta was filled with them. Super tasty! We shared the pineapple, mango, strawberry & pecan paletas- the fruity one was large chunks of fruit in a crispy ice shell while the pecan was chunks of pecan in a soft milky shell. It took everything in me to not walk back in and buy out the stock!! We will return VERY SOON! read more

While we both chose the mangonada paleta (yum!), I loved the variety of paletas they offered (everything from creamy to fruit only options). Showed up to the location and everywhere said they open at 12. I showed up around 12:05 which I know is annoying, but I am celebrating some great news and this is the one thing I wanted to do! We called to ask if they were open and someone answered hello, we asked if it was the palateria and if they were open. They said they should be poke in a couple minutes. No problem. When we went in the woman was nice, but it seemed like we were an annoyance or bother but the paletas were great! Got some paletas and had tons of fun at the Hemisfair park! If you're visiting San Antonio, this combo is a must (they're only 5 minutes walking distance from each other). The paletas that include cream are very good because it's a delicious combo of a popsicle and ice cream and I don't feel guilty eating it! We got the strawberry, strawberries and cream, and fruity pebbles flavor. I'd say the strawberry one is the best of of the three because the strawberries in the strawberries and cream were a tad tough and the fruity pebbles were soggy and hard. The strawberry paleta was smooth and just melts in your mouth, it was a perfect blend of strawberries and cream! P.S The Hemisfair park is the best park I've ever been to, hands down! A hidden gem. (I'm serious--it literally is hidden from the streets with no storefront sign and we were almost disappointed when we drove around.) But if you see a ice cream cart outside, you'll feel like you've hit the jackpot when you finally see the colorful popsicles from afar. There were so many paletas to choose from, it was so hard to narrow it down to just one. Most of the paletas have pieces and chunks of real fruit inside. They didn't have most of the popsicles that had me drooling from the Yelp photos but they did have some flavors that made it hard to choose between. I got a Frutas, which is milk based with strawberries and walnuts. It was pink but the popsicle was banana flavored. It was a bit heavy and wasn't too bad, but I wish the fruit wasn't all the way on the bottom. My friend got a Watermelon paleta and she really enjoyed the freshness and the chunks of watermelon. These were very reasonably priced (came out to be about $5ish) and I would highly recommend coming here for a light, cheap sweet treat. There aren't many reviews and we were the only customers so I'm guessing not many people know about this place, probably because they don't market themselves as much and because they don't have a storefront that shows what they are. If you're craving paletas, definitely give this place a try and if you look enough, you will find it. read more

We stopped at this little shop which is located inside a park with other restaurants, lots of trees, benches and picnic areas. Yesterday there was a solo violinist who was entertaining children and parents by playing an extended version of the Super Mario Bros. theme near the playground and splash pad. It was brutally hot outside and the paleteria has only enough seating for two in the leftmost corner. My wife, son (9) and I had skipped lunch and actually had two of these small paletas each (6 total). Combined we had coconut, cookies and cream, chocolate (2), strawberry lime and lime. My wife mentioned that the coconut had an unexpected and unwanted sort of sour taste. My son enjoyed the cookies and cream a lot, mentioning that the vanilla or milk base was not that sweet (in essence it is not all Oreo cream). The chocolates were said to be on point and both my fruit ones were excellent, though tart. The selection is divided between milk-bases and clear fruit based ones.
