He was very intuitive, and even gave us a couple of his suggestions on what he thought was good, which I appreciated as it was my first time there. Peanut butter Excellent peanut butter. Banana Love the pieces of banana in the ice cream. Double dark chocolate Rich chocolate and smooth. All of the flavors were great. The scoops for the price is not worth it...extremely small. Also the freezer for the ice cream seems to be set on soft serve because it melted and was dripping before I could finish paying. The location is small - located next to the exit of the mall attached to River Walk and next to a Ghiradelli's, which should make them work harder to make money. We walked in on Thursday afternoon and it was empty. Ghiradelli has a line out the door. The advertisement for the mystical milkshake brought us in the door. We ordered the peanut butter one. It was expensive - $14+change. The girl who helped us was nice enough, but didn't engage in any small talk. The other girl working, however, was rude as heck! Two (kind of drunk-ish) women walked in after us and this employee was so rude to them. If she had treated us that way, I would have walked out. The milkshake itself is so ridiculous you have to buy it at least once in your life. Chocolate ice cream with peanut butter mix in. Lots of candy & chocolate syrup & whipped cream. Love the concept--you pick your base then add unlimited toppings and it comes with a regular waffle cone! I opted for the healthier vanilla low fat yogurt option and added oreos, cookie dough, kit kats, twix and fudge--but it just tasted bad. Not creamy, and had so many ice crystals. The toppings were kinda stale tasting. I've subbed vanilla yogurt for ice cream at Coldstone, and its honestly hard to tell I'm not eating ice cream, but that was not the case here. The staff however left much to be desired as one served her friend first when my small group was there before, only two people of our group were able to order and we had to wait to pay because of it. Went in there, got an ice cream cone, a shake, and a smoothie. Spent around $30. They were out of strawberries and instead of letting me know they put straberry ice cream and apple juice together for the smoothie. Tased like strawberry milk and apple juice (I personally don't find that good). They didn't put a straw or spoon in the milkshake, so we asked for it. They had ice cream running down the side of the smoothie- I asked for them to put a napkin on it. Didn't just tell them to- asked. Not a good business. My girlfriend's favorite ice cream is their amaretto flavor so I called this location and ordered an ice cream cake for her birthday on our San Antonio trip. I purposely kept the order simple with only two requests: amaretto flavor ice cream, and "Happy Birthday Sarah" written on it. Very difficult to mess up, one would think. When we arrived to pick up the cake, it had the wrong name written on it. When we took it home and tasted it, we both knew after one bite it was obviously made with vanilla ice cream. Returned the next day to request a refund only to be told by the manager that we were mistaken and that amaretto and vanilla taste the same and that we would not be refunded because we were satisfied with the cake when we left the store (obviously--we hadn't tasted it yet!). I came in tonight with my family at 9:30pm. My brother said "hey how's it going" and the female employee looked up at him and didn't say anything. The employees continued to give us dirty looks as we looked at the menu. We asked them how much longer they're open (since they seemed so irritated with us being there) and the employee hesitated for about 15 seconds saying "uhhhhhhhh- we close in 29 minutes." We had looked up the hours and it clearly stated they close at 11, not 10 and the hours were just recently updated. My brother then asked if he could get one of the mix ins (boogie board) and the employee looked around and hesitated once again "uhhhhhh" basically implying the answer was a no because she had already cleaned that area an hour and a half before closing. He left the establishment without getting anything. I myself worked in a restaurant for years in high school so I understand the urgency to get out of there at closing time but that's never an excuse to not do your job. My family and I were extremely disappointed in this experience and hope these employees can be retrained to do the right thing next time. :) read more

THE PRICE: My aunt also ordered a single scoop of birthday cake in a normal cone, and the price came out to about $12 for both of ours together... RIDICULOUS! THE ICE CREAM: The birthday cake ice cream itself was pretty good. However, it only had a hint of birthday cake. To me, it tasted like a more flavorful version of vanilla - I love vanilla, which is probably why I liked the flavor so much. If you're looking for actual birthday cake, you're going to be disappointed. THE TOPPINGS: Overall, it was a pretty tasty combination. However, the lady who mixed my ice cream did NOT know how to mix it and it seemed half-assed. The toppings were not evenly mixed throughout the ice cream, so it was awkward to eat part of it with a lot of toppings and the other part without. THE CONE: The special cone itself was $1.69 extra, and it was NOT worth it. Only a small portion of it had white chocolate, and it tasted chalky. THE PRESENTATION: Go look at the photo I posted. Omg! The shakes were so crazy and tasted amazing Amazing! We got the peanut butter, s'mores, and cookie dough shakes! I love that they are in plastic jars that you get to keep, too. I believe the shakes were around $12 each which is pretty expensive but they are kind of a lot of work for the workers to make, you keep the cup, and they are stacked high with crazy dessert, plus the shake it self has a ton of icecream! But here's what I didn't expect: I ordered a large $8 milkshake for my two kids to enjoy. As most parents can relate, our two kids would much rather enjoy their half out of their own cup. I went into this establishment with my husband and friends today. Our server showed little enthusiasm to be working which was echoed by every worker there. Shortly after we had our ice cream and gentlemen entered that had no money. We offered to pay for whatever he wanted as it was apparent he was hungry and it was very hot outside. The workers all ignored him and started doing other tasks or busy work and greeted other customers while still being very rude and intolerant. They did not want to serve him even though we were paying. The servers eventually helped him but were argumentative with my husband as he paid the bill. They smirked at the man. My hope is that they never find themselves on the other end and hoping a kind person would be kind to them. They all need to learn to be nice to every customer. His didn't have any taste whatsoever. He didn't add a topping. The ice cream was overpriced and lacked in quality and taste. I was just very unsatisfied with the whole ordeal. A really annoying walk from the Drury Plaza Hotel - we ended up having to take the street to get to the creamery, but this isn't included in the star ratings. The first star deduction is for the employees. Although they worked quick, we're a bit sour with the line and left customers hanging - it got confusing. Some people ordered after me but paid before me, which was odd considering we were a single file line. The second star deduction is for the price. $7.99 for a strawberry shortcake! That's about the same price for a full Chick Fil A meal in Houston. Albeit the prices were proportional to serving size, it's all generally too much.
