Popped in for some dessert and was treated to a variety of flavors! We got to sample ones we were interested in. The ladies serving were very friendly and answered any questions we had. Although I have yet to visit Lick's location, my husband and I buy pints of their ice cream from Moody Meats near our house and WOW. We have tried sooo many of their flavors and have never had one that wasn't amazing. Our favorites have been boozy egg nog, pistachio and rose water (at least, I think it was rose water), and tiramisu. I used to think that ice cream could be only so good - and then Lick flew past that expectation. Be adventurous with your flavor selection! It pays off! Lick has unique ingredients that wouldn't be front of mind for ice cream flavors but they really work! This has been my favorite goto ice cream place in The Garage Food hall on Mass Ave! Their unique flavors make you want to try them right away! I got the lavender lemon and rose water pistachio brittle and loved them both. All of the flavors are amazing and there always seems to be a line for good reason! I have been looking forward to trying Lick since they announced the Garage a year or so ago. About 10 flavor options ranging from more creative flavors (earl grey mint) to traditional (cookies and cream). I got a regular dish for around $5 and split it between Guinness ganache and cedar whiskey. The Guinness ganache was really a great treat. The chocolate and coffee went well with an underlying Guinness flavor. I was worried the cedar whiskey would be too strong, but it also was great and well balanced between cedar and whiskey. I can't stop thinking about how delicious this Lick ice cream is! The chocolate orange combination is the best ice cream I've ever had, and I would eat it daily if I could. The waffle cones smell amazing and were even slightly warm. The cinnamon and sugar flavor of the cones really add to the ice cream. I love that the ice cream isn't made with a bunch of additives. After a class field trip to SoChatti located on Brookside Ave. my class ventured over to Bottleworks, and finally The Garage Food Hall where we explored all the different food vendors and learned about the history of the north side of Mass Ave. (Very Fascinating) Like every responsible 23 year old I left my ID in my car, so I settled for ice cream, but settled I was not, I was amazed! This place is going places. We dropped by their location at the Garage Food Hall at Bottleworks. I was mind blown by the flavors. The attention to detail and craftsmanship in the production of this ice cream is something rarely scene in the Indy food scene. Someone there has a genius palette and a Rolodex of recipes that are worth $$$$. We had the cedar and whiskey in a cup and lemon curd ginger snap in a homemade waffle cone. Milk chocolate tasted like a more decedent Wendy's frosty, and that's not a bad thing. Fingers-crossed that you aren't served by the 'girl with the hummingbird tattoo'. She sighed, rolled her eyes, and gave her co-worker frustrated looks each time we asked for samples (I had 2). This place is one of Indy's absolute gems. Lick is women (sisters) owned and absolutely delicious must have small batch icecream. I kept hearing "LICK IS SO GOOD", but I figured ice cream is always good... can Lick be that much better? Friends, it is. The flavors are unique, but unassuming, and that TEXTURE. Divine. My favorites so far are the Lavender Lemon Poppyseed and Vanilla Cognac, but I'm willing to bet you can't make a bad choice. I wasn't a huge fan of the smoothie I had got. I know when I go back here I want to just stick to the milkshakes and ice cream. I love the cheesecake ice cream. They goofed our order a little, even though it was simple. But that's to be expected. The counter staff were friendly enough but not very attentive. The store was clean enough, but not impressive. The ice dream was good. It's ok.
