Had a bad experience when the manager and only lady register 4. working at the register stopped asking me if had taken something I haven't paid for. She was the only person on the registers on the morning of 3/15/26 8:21am. She then called Kevin her store manager who then repeated the same thing asking if I took something without paying. I asked him to see the manager and he told me I'm the manager. I then asked him to check his cameras and then he came back and told me that the cameras showed I had put it back. Lidl train the employees better. I still love your store but absolutely HATED. That experience I understand stores have to watch out for theft. But to engage a customer in that manner and cause humiliation was just uncalled for read more

I went to LIDL donw the block in Bellville because they sent me a 10$ off 20 to have me shop there again. Took about an hour but selected my purchases as they do this from time to time. So many thinsg to choose from! At the register 1st the avocados which were supposed to be on sale, were not, so no biggie... I deicded not to purchase. Next the Fish had a discount and it came off wrong... bad but still ok. Finally the $10 off $20 coupon did not work! The cashier was unable to fix it or call a number so with 20 people now behind me she had me call up Customer Service. Customer service took several minutes to respond while the manager snuck in whispered somethin gand walker away. I asked for the manager and was told there was no manager. The lady at customer service confirmed after fumbling that the coupon was legit, but I need to make the purchase first, send them the recipt and then they will judge if they will return the money or not. That's insane. I asked for help a few ore times and nothing. So I dropped off my HOUR's worth of food I was going to buy and left the store never having been treated like this in my entire life. What kind of service is this? It's insane! I've had odd issues with LIDL before where coupons were store specific, but I checked everything first, everything was correct and was given no reasonable resolution at the store! One of those 3 bozos should be able to tell me why the coupon did not work, not delay 20 other customers and be able to resolve this super fast! What is going on here? Shouldn't the manager be able to resolve this like 1,2,3 and tell me what is happening and do something about it without hiding in the back while the cashier pretends there is no store manager?!?!??!? Shouldn't customer service on the phone be able to resolve this in some normal reasonable way if that is where their customer service desk is? Total incompetance! read more

If you're a fan of Aldi or even Trader Joe's I think you'll like Lidl. They have a lot of their own brand items and they're great. Now let me just start by saying I don't do my full grocery shopping here but when I need a quick item or when making any fun appetizers or desserts this is my go-to spot. Everything is super reasonably priced. Their bakery section is perfect. They're baking constantly throughout the day so sometimes you can snag a fresh baked baguette at 4pm! Great small rolls, croissants and desserts. Their cheese twists are the best - so crunchy and fresh. Their cheese selection is also great and again, really affordable. They have some pre sliced meats and cheeses then some pre packaged ones as well. Lots of dessert options too, great frozen food section. It's definitely worth the trip to check out. read more

Want to start off with a warning first: Thursday, January 2nd around 1pm, a younger, heavy, medium height Hispanic male approached me as I was about to enter the store and told me I left my car lights on. I knew I didn't, but I had the time to back to my car to check. Once I got closer to my car I noticed he parked so close to my car he was struggling to get back in. He also parked on the driver side. I walked to the front of my car, confirmed no lights were on and made sure my car was locked and went back to the store. I thought that was weird, but went on with my shopping. I noticed he was now driving his car, following me and double parked outside the front doors to the store and went inside same time as me. I thought that was weird again, but thought maybe he works here and forgot something. I was taking my time in the veggie/fruit section and noticed he was going up and down and doing figure 8s in those two aisles. Then out of no where when my back was slightly turned away from my cart which was max 2.5 feet away from me, he squeezed in between me and my cart to grab tomatoes. And I then finally said to him, "What the f*ck?!" Because I had been watching him and I clocked his game. I quickly checked my pockets and still had my phone, keys and card. After that I did not see him again. I'm writing this review to warn the other females who shop here. I do not know what his plan was, but he was up to something bad and I don't want others to be victims because I did not speak up. I like this Lidl. Prices are great. Selection is decent. Would love healthier, less sugar, less food dyes in their products, but you can't win at everything. Store is clean. Aisles are wide. Workers are friendly. read more

On 10/3 I traveled to the supermarket and bought groceries totaling 160.00 +. Upon paying the female cashier had a problem with the register after it accepted my payment. Therefore I did not received my receipt. I then waited for the manager Dominic a tall south /North American male. I asked him what if I had to return anything he then explained that they accept all returns. I then asked him how can I find out if all prices were correct. He then stated ( You should have been paying attention to the computer screen when the cashier was scanning them. I was surprised that a manager will say such a thing. I then explained to him that a manager is there to help the customers not judge when the store makes a mistake. That he should apologized for the problem with the machine and provide another alternative. He then continued to argue Omg the store was full of customers. I traveled far to go there. I felt so disrespected and his demeanor was terrible. I placed a complaint with headquarters and hope that they do not hire people so disrespectful. I will never go back to this store. Maybe travel farther. So unprofessional . I work hard for my money I do not live from the government and I refuse to take such a disrespectful person. I guess I popped in here too late. Most of the good bakery stuff was gone. However, this lidl is laid out a bit different from others. Appeared to have more items in the frozen and refrigerated sections. They had some cool Halloween stuff for decorations and treats. This is a one stop shop, they always have some cool home tools, organizing supplies, pajamas, vests, jackets, pet stuff, some school supplies. I will definitely be back. read more

Lots of fresh options for breads, croissants, and sweet treats. - Love the flower selection! I haven't been to a florist in years and usually grab flowers from shoprite whenever I need them in a pinch. The flowers here are usually lively, themed for the season your in, and come ar a great price. This has become my new pickup spot for sure. - Good pricing/deals throughout the store. Cons: - Not as many food options available as you would find at a typical supermarket. If you have dietary restrictions then you may have difficulty finding specific products that would otherwise be readily available at shoprite, stop and shop, etc. read more

First visit and I liked this store. The French Baguette bread from the bakery was hot out of the oven at 7:35 pm! It was delicious! Many items to choose from and reasonable baked goods prices.The store and parking lot were both very clean. Many products to choose from as well as US name brand items. Many specialty items imported from Europe as well. Bought some Virginia ham and some From the Bone ham. Both tasted ok but the Virginia Ham wasn't very flavorful. Prices were from normal to a bit higher on some items. This particular store had security tags on their fresh meat. I guess there is an Issue with theft of chopped meat with the prices rising so high. The meat all looked very fresh! Produce all looked fresh with nice variety of items. The only thing i was a bit put off by was the design of the aisles in the front of the store. They were off flow and you can't just walk straight up and down to browse items. They have a downloadable app that scores you coupons and and a rewards program- get it. Very nice staff as well. I would come back again. *Remember to bring your own bags! read more

What's the opposite of "impressed"? Whatever that is--that describes Lidl. It is the most underwhelming grocery store I have ever been to. The cashier forgot to scan my coupon and no one knew enough about the register to know how to simply adjust the amount of my order. Instead, they had to re-ring my entire order. There is no customer service desk. The customer display on the register shows different prices than the cashier display and when I said "I think that is illegal" the cashier just shrugged. Everything is bare bones and bottom-of-the-barrel to save every last dollar and no one seems to care how crappy it is. Even Aldi is better and that ain't saying much. The bakery items tasted like they were previously frozen and then finished baking in the store. Really depressing. But oh yeah....it IS cheap. But not cheap enough to justify me returning. I don't really understand the bad reviews. I first came here about a week after it opened. It was extremely busy (a new store is a novelty, and I went on a Saturday) but it remained clean, the shelves were well-stocked, and the checkout lines moved relatively quickly. There are wide aisles too, which makes navigating the store far simpler. The selection is great though! I was prepared not to have many name brands, but there were more than I expected. Really good meat and seafood, fresh produce, and a good freezer section. Don't forget to bring your own bags! read more

Opening day crowd was massive. some ârrived hours before opening. Crowded all opening day, hope to revisit an other day.

The offerings are good and variety ..prices are either the same or good deals. I started looking at my receipts and it's the third time I got double charged for an item. I was told the machine is fast. But I feel it's the clerk rushing and you can't see what they do. They're onto the next person while your trying to bag your items. I called about this because I'm not saving here if they keep double charging and I called she says she will give back but never did. read more

Went 2 days after it opened and walked through the store which was crowded but moving. However, the lines at the registers were enormous, all the way to the back of the store! We stood on line for over 30 minutes. Unfortunately I had to return an item so went back 2 days after that. There is no customer service desk, you have to wait on those long lines to make a return which shocked me. Hopefully they'll make some improvements and the crowds will ease up, but I won't rush back any time soon because of those issues. read more

Disappointing! I stood in line with one other person on opening day and the staff never acknowledged us once. They walked up and down the line and spoke to customers in front of us and behind us and handed them bags and something else which we didn't know what it was but knew we were being left out. We went in the store out of curiosity but decided to leave our groceries there since we weren't valued as customers and ignored. We will not be returning to Lidl. read more

I really wanted to like this store but it has too many shortcomings. When it first opened there were some items that offered significant discounts over other stores; but that discount has narrowed as time went on. Items are often mispriced on the shelves and they ring up higher at the cashier. Sale items are often not on the shelves and other sale items require an app that has to be downloaded to your smart phone or they ring up at the regular price. The strangest things about this store is that it appears a lot of money and effort went into renovating it before it opened; yet there are no self-checkouts and no customer service desk. Often there is only one cashier open and if you're lucky two cashiers are open; so expect a long line. And if you notice something(s) were price wrong on your receipt, there is no customer service to help you. read more
