Lido Cafe is my local to go place for delicious cooking. It has a very friendly atmosphere and the food tastes better than homemade!! The scrambled eggs are so, so creamy, the sausage and biscuits...oh my!!!! Their Eggs Benedict is delicious, the pork chop breakfast is delightful and Lido's Duet is full of all things grand!! They have a mouth watering bakery area by the front door, full of cobblers, cookies, baked goods, and other yummy treats!! I came here for the first time on a Saturday around 9:45-10 in the morning and it was packed, so I definitely knew this place was going to be good. We waited about fifteen minutes before we sat down which wasn't bad considering how many people were in the waiting area. The service was great, the waitress was prompt and friendly. The food was great, my boyfriend and I both got the 2x2x2 (pancake or French toast, 2 eggs, and 2 bacon or sausage) I got the Belgian waffle for a $1 more. Shawna is a welcoming site upon entering. She greets everyone as if she's known you all her life. It is always clean and comfortable with wonderful daily lunch specials. The prices are comparable and everything on the menu is superb. The service is good but can use some work. It's difficult when customers seat themselves and sometimes servers aren't aware of a new customer. This place is always super busy on weekends yet the friendly staff is constantly checking in and refilling coffee and water. Great, "home cooked" tasty choices! I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered, breakfast or lunch. I love the neighborhood feel of the place. The food is consistently fresh and delicious. The biscuits and gravy is definitely a fave of mine. Oh, and can't forget the homemade pastries are to die for - my advice is to get it to-go because you won't have enough room if you plan on it for dessert ... As stated in some other reviews, parking is a challenge unless you arrive early. There's been times we've just drove right on by to another breakfast spot just due to how crazy the parking lot looked. I used to be a regular here about 9 years ago and the service was top notch. It was my favorite brunch spot. Back when they were in the original location. All the servers were friendly and amazing, BUT the LAST 2 times we invited friends and family from out of town to show off the cafe we'd talked up for so many years, the service was a total disappointment. Short and quick to leave, slow to come back, slow for everything else, forgetting items, etc. We haven't been back again. I do plan on giving them another shot here soon. read more

I love coming here with my parents after the rush on Sunday's. I called today to order some late breakfast for my elderly dad. I was told to hold and the lady put the phone down and never came back. In fact, I hung up because I was tired of listening to the bustling restaurant and nobody was helping me. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and called back in 5 minutes. Busy signal, meaning, they still haven't gone back for the phone. Called back 10 minutes later and it was still busy. We like the food, but service is not great. I found my new favorite spot to eat in Carmichael. Ive had several meals here off both the breakfast and lunch menu and everything has been fantastic! Good down home American food. Portion sizes are decent, and all the food is of high quality. They must use better ingredients than most places because the food really tastes homemade. Service is quick and friendly. And the prices are very reasonable. I wish they were open for dinner! Can get pretty crowded on the weekends for breakfast, but other than that, its usually a pretty quiet place to have a great meal. I went to the Lido Cafe for the first time today. I walked in with my service dog and was told that we would be seated outside because of the dog. I informed the lady (who is the owner) that my dog was a service dog and we would like to be seated inside. She said that my dog must be wearing a vest identifying him as a service dog or we would have to sit outside. I informed her that the ADA does not require me to vest my dog or have any kind of identifying information. She said she was told they did and they wouldn't seat us inside. She said we could either sit outside or wait while she researches the ADA. If you own a business, you need to know the laws and regulations that govern your business. This is complete discrimination and uncalled for. I don't know if their food is good or not because I didn't have the opportunity to eat there, but their respect and customer service is horrible. IF I COULD 4.5 STARS!!!!!! ^-^ I came to this cafe and I was greeted with a warm smile and I loved their hospitality, especially Shauna. She handled and tended to my needs whenever she had the time, especially when I was the only guest while everyone else came in as parties of two or more. The food was amazing, I ordered the Early Bird Sandwhich and their tropical ice tea. This place does get busy and being tucked in to the side tables, close to the entrance where everyone waits does ruin my experience for a bit. I have been here several times for breakfast/brunch and have never been disappointed. The meals are delicious, be it benedicts, which you can have a half instead of the huge full order, omlettes, fresh baked pastries and an extensive menu with wonderful coffee from Boulevard Coffee right in view from Lido-it's great they support Boulevard, which has been around for generations in Fair Oaks, just as Lido has. I learned they have a Happy Hour and live music which will make Lido another entertainment option for people in Fair Oaks/Carmichael as well as elsewhere. read more

Lido Cafe is the middle tenant of a strip mall on Fair Oaks Blvd. The parking lot is along the front of the strip mall with parking spaces that are close together. We went for breakfast over the weekend and it's an odd layout. They have outdoor seating in front and gated.. (You don't have to walk thru the dining area to get to it, the gate opens up front.) Through the front door, the drink station for the bussers/servers is right there along with the cashier with her back to you as she sits on a stool. There's a partition separating the kitchen and entry way, another partition separating the dining area. Walking into the service area was different. The cashier with her back to you-- different. They have country decor. Furthest from the entrance, they have a full bar set up and a bunch of equipment for music, singing, or something.. I guess they have parties there. When we walked in, there were menus sitting on a table and we were told to sit anywhere.. but then someone came to seat us. It was a nice day, so we sat outside. I thought the busy street would be a nuisance but you hardly notice it with the table of women sitting at the table adjacent to you gossiping. Everyone was nice but it seemed unorganized and like no one knew what was going on. The cinnamon roll must be something-- We were offered it multiple times. When we came in, a couple times when we sat down, when we were leaving.. Would you like a cinnamon roll? Would you like a cinnamon roll?.. They really pushed it. Are they old? Are you trying to get rid of it? Are they the pride of the cafe? Maybe you should buy one and find out? Our food was good. I like their country potatoes.. they use scalloped potatoes rather than cubes. They make their own biscuits, I think. It wasn't the standard looking hockey puck pillsbury can biscuit. Eggs Benedict was described with a drizzle of Hollandaise-- Dude, it was drowned in it. But, the asparagus that comes with it is a nice touch. Service was good. Different people came by to check on us every so often. The place was decent. I like that they have a full bar. I hate the parking lot. $10.95 breakfast special list-- Expensive, I thought. Second visit to Lido and still a winner after one small glitch. Ordered eggs Benedict and eggs were over done. They were extremely busy and hated to say anything, however I really like the runny yolk of a poached egg.. especially to add to the creaminess of a bene! Our waitress MIRIAM was so attentive and cheerful about making my order perfect... and it was when it came back. She checked back after I started eating and was very pleasant and sincere. This place was absolutely terrible, my friends and I wanted to go out for brunch. We were here a total of 2 maybe 2 and a half hours. Waitress knocked over a cup of water spilling it all over my boyfriend, everyone's food was cold and I mean COLD not even slightly warm in the middle. We had to ask for extra silverware and anything else multiple times, everyone's bacon was more than over cooked. I ordered 4 sides and granted they're sides they should've came at the same time, I didn't even eat the rest of the food. We sent everything back and the owner came to explain, how it's been awhile since they've had as much business as they did and how her workers are great. When in reality she should've greatly apologized for how horrible our experience was, seemed she was more worried about us paying than our actual experience.
