It's like when there's a pizza craving, we know that'll well end up here. Their super deluxe tends to always be the winner. The layers of topping, which pretty much is everything. A mixture of veggies and meats then covered with cheese. Just grabbing a slice and watching the topping dripping is a good sign. Some may say it's too much and too messy, but I say bring it on. The crust is great. Not too thick and has a nice crunch to it. They do have other dishes as it's an Italian restaurant. They also offer bottomless pasta but how much can one eat....lol... Service has alway been good whenever we visited. There's plenty of street parking and some available spot in front and out back. Alcohol is offered. I don't know when they started the change with the sourdough bread. It used to be offered when you sit down. Now it's a fee. But one of the waiters said that is offered with a pasta dish which I've heard else wise. Who knows what the truth is. But we just stick to the pizza and salad. It's a valley spot that pretty much everyone I know has been too.

So glad we found this cool place after church just a few minutes away. David served us and he was on point for a table for 9. The ambiance has an Italian feel to it as you walk in and clean. We ordered 2 large pizzas (everything on one; and Hawaiian on the other); with an order of salad and garlic cheese bread sticks for all. It was delish and the pineapple was sweet. Highly recommend and we will certainly be back! Bookmark Lido folks for your next Italian craving.

Lido Pizza is one of those classic staples of the valley that, thankfully, doesn't seem like it has fallen off. They are a cozy restaurant with low lighting to give a private feel while your party dines. The staff as always been attentive and a delight as well. On the whole it's the usual Italian restaurant. No frills just good solid food. Their pizza is always superb and their starters that I have tried have all been delicious. I dont feel there is more to add. Lido is a solid italian restaurant.

Best darn pizza in Van Nuys as far as I am concern. Lido Pizza has been a Icon for many years in the San Fernando Valley. My work crew and I stopped there for lunch after a important meeting. My second time here in a long time. I think we ordered a large Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza. Taste really good as always with lots of cheese and sauce. Service was good, and also the Lasagna is FIRE as Lido's. They are only open at a certain time of day. They close early so check the daily schedule. Lidos is pricey too, so do not forget your wallets.

I didn't like that we were not offered bread rolls like other Pizza Italian joints like Pizza cookery. We ordered spaghetti and still weren't offered any bread rolls. The pizza was okay I love the Italian dressing waitress was nice enough but I feel like it looks bad to not offer bread. I will stick with Pizza cookery where they willingly give you bread rolls no extra charge.

My main course was the short rib ravioli with a drizzle of balsamic glaze and it was really good and very feeling. overall enjoyed my meal, but I will say that there was six of us and the table was a bit snug as they placed us in a half rounded table and added two seats. What a crazy number of days, weeks, months we've spent without enjoying the good food and friendly service at this comfy, homestyle Italian eatery with a full bar and even fuller menu of properly prepared, seriously tasty dishes. The room is cheery and bright, while remaining welcoming. Not a sign of anything corporate here -- just homespun hospitality and good vibes from start to finish. Our server, Chris, was attentive and most accommodating, explaining various options to us newbies, and making my wife an offer she couldn't refuse: she was trying to decide between Chicken Parm and Cacio E Pepe, so Chris offered to swap the plain pasta side of the parm with Cacio E Pepe, giving her both dishes in one. Sold. You pretty much never see that kind of thing happening nowadays. And it was a great thing, to be sure. The generous portion of chicken was lightly fried and topped with an equally light tomato sauce that complimented the chicken and cheese rather than overwhelming them. The flavor and texture were spot on, and the robust Cacio E Pepe made for a very nice pairing. Me? I ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, once Chris assured me it was made the traditional way rather than doused in cream as so many places now do. And indeed, the spaghetti was textbook al dente, dressed with with egg yolk and cheese that combined into a richly satisfying sauce. The pancetta brought a touch of salt and plenty of smoky accents, making this about as top notch a version of this dish as you're likely to find in the Valley. Cannoli were sweet and rich; a wonderful palate cleanser at the end of our meal. A Pepperoni Pizza taken to go for our kids at home looked absolutely first rate. Did I mention my martini? Properly made, cool and crisp, and only $15. Quite the bargain for this side of town. Yes, Trattoria Del Sole came as a surprise, but it should be no surprise to anyone reading this that we'll be making this our regular haunt from now-on. I think you should, too.

We parked in one of their 3 parking spots in the back and entered through the rear entrance. We were greeted by Aya who mentioned they were having some plumbing problems so we needed to sit in the front section of the restaurant. The place is pretty small and compact, with about 10 tables. It's family owned and been around for 25 years. The prices are pretty affordable for the portion sizes. Not much ambiance or decorations, but there was some nice Italian music playing overhead and some Christmas decorations that are apparently hung up year-round. Both Thomas and Aya waited on us and they were both pleasant and kind with nice smiles. Thomas quickly brought out some waters along with their complimentary focaccia that came with olive tapenade. The bread tasted old and stale and wasn't warm, but I liked the tapenade. Surprisingly, we were never asked if we wanted anything else to drink and also never got refills on our waters until I had to ask for one. I ordered the Italian salad with dressing on the side and I asked if the carrots that came in the salad were cooked or raw, since I don't like raw carrots. Aya happily suggested that they can cook me some carrots separately and bring them on the side, which is what they did. Even though the carrots were not really cooked that well, the gesture was still greatly appreciated. Other than that, all the ingredients were very fresh and the dressing was LIGHT, just how I like it. For our entrèes, I got the Pollo Della Cassa which came with chicken breast and mushrooms baked with mozzarella cheese, served on pasta with Alfredo sauce. ($24.95), with an add-on of shrimp (+$3.00 for 3 shrimps). I also asked for light sauce, not too soupy, and that's exactly how it was prepared. The food was piping hot, very fresh, and delicious. My son ordered the Pollo Limone ($24.95) that came with grilled chicken breast with lemon sauce on mushroom risotto. He was not the biggest fan of his food but still ate all of it. He also asked if he could get a side of veggies and they gladly brought out a medley of sautéed broccoli, zucchini, and carrots. We were not charged for the side of veggies and also the salad, which was very generous of them. To end the meal, you get a small complimentary square of Tiramisu which is a nice little treat. The customer service is truly the best part of this restaurant and you can tell that there is a lot of love involved here. They really care about their guests and want you to feel happy and satisfied. Due to some minor ticks here and there, I think I am going to stick with 4 stars overall. The restaurant was clean but just kind of unpleasant. You could also smell the bleach right when you walk in and sometimes the smell would waft through the air. It was also really hot in the restaurant and I don't think the A/C was working. They have one bathroom for each gender and they were very clean. I also asked for some change to leave cash for the tip, but Thomas told me they didn't have any cash in the restaurant. How can that be? Thank you Spumoni, Aya, Thomas, and the chefs. Will I return? Maybe, maybe not.

No other signs were posted on the door/window. We even called them twice and left them a message since nobody answered the phone, left another message and nobody has called us back since then. We really wanted to try their delicious food from their extensive menu options. Unfortunately, we were not able to. Maybe they went out of business? Sold the restaurant? Who knows? They also have the business hours wrong. Online, it says open between 11:30 to 2pm, closed and reopen from 4pm to 9pm. The message on the phone states that they are only open from 5 to 9pm. The Burrata Caprese was light and everything on the plate went well together. The Penne Arrabiata and Ravioli de Spinaci e Ricotta was alright. Didn't shine compared to the other dishes, but the sauce was delicious. The Filetto di Bue was very flavorful with the red wine sauce really coming through. The Cannoli was absolutely perfect with the crust crispy and the cream complimenting the crust really well.
