I'm unfortunately leaving this updated review for Lido pizza due to some rather bothersome issues my girlfriend and I experienced recently from the establishment. Although the food is always great, the gift cards tend to be problematic. Spent $50 on a gift card to discover that there was a balance of $0.00. Yep, total staff error and they didn't accommodate in any way. Just a careless "sorry about that " attitude. I received yet another gift card for my birthday for $50 which the server couldn't process and told me I had to pay full price! Tried to make contact through email system regarding this issue and received no response. unprofessional! This is clearly something that others should be aware of. The gift cards system is shady, so steer clear of it and you'll be fine. Not sure about any chi chi locations but Lido on Victory blvd could most definitely use some serious restoration inside, such as restaurant cleanliness, booth repair/replacement and the restrooms are just terrible. Lido owner please put some TLC into your business already, and fix whatever is going on with your gift card system! I'm out $100 cuz of you. Not cool. read more

It's like when there's a pizza craving, we know that'll well end up here. Their super deluxe tends to always be the winner. The layers of topping, which pretty much is everything. A mixture of veggies and meats then covered with cheese. Just grabbing a slice and watching the topping dripping is a good sign. Some may say it's too much and too messy, but I say bring it on. The crust is great. Not too thick and has a nice crunch to it. They do have other dishes as it's an Italian restaurant. They also offer bottomless pasta but how much can one eat....lol... Service has alway been good whenever we visited. There's plenty of street parking and some available spot in front and out back. Alcohol is offered. I don't know when they started the change with the sourdough bread. It used to be offered when you sit down. Now it's a fee. But one of the waiters said that is offered with a pasta dish which I've heard else wise. Who knows what the truth is. But we just stick to the pizza and salad. It's a valley spot that pretty much everyone I know has been too. read more

Well, I was in the valley. I went ahead and ordered food over the phone. The young lady was so very nice and made sure that she got my order correct when I arrived. They were so nice and went over my order to make sure that I had everything and even helped me out to the car the inside has not changed in years. It still has the red booths and tables. I highly recommend it. I had ordered the cheese ravioli with meat sauce, and an extra side of meat sauce because it is so delicious that I freeze some for another time. Their antipasto salad is also wonderful. I didn't order pizza this time but I've had it there before and it is superb. Just the thought of it makes my mouth water. read more

This is the best pizza west of the Mississippi I drove a truck for 50 years I've had it in Chicago New York Maryland. I have had pizza every where I know it is a part of Chi Chis but for some reason it's better than all three of the others. there used to be one on Van Nuys Blvd. And Nordoff, but it's been gone for a long time. probably 30 years. God I hope it's not going away at least until after I die. read more

I'm disgusted to learn that Lidos was closed down by the Health Department for Vermin. (Rats) My family and I ate there exactly 1 week ago! I'm so mad that they knew they had an infestation and did nothing to fix the problem or care about their customers. We love the their food and order regularly, but never again. read more

So glad we found this cool place after church just a few minutes away. David served us and he was on point for a table for 9. The ambiance has an Italian feel to it as you walk in and clean. We ordered 2 large pizzas (everything on one; and Hawaiian on the other); with an order of salad and garlic cheese bread sticks for all. It was delish and the pineapple was sweet. Lido Pizza is one of those classic staples of the valley that, thankfully, doesn't seem like it has fallen off. They are a cozy restaurant with low lighting to give a private feel while your party dines. The staff as always been attentive and a delight as well. On the whole it's the usual Italian restaurant. No frills just good solid food. Their pizza is always superb and their starters that I have tried have all been delicious. I dont feel there is more to add. We were seated at this restaurant and were completely ignored. The server never greeted us, and we were only given the menu I brushed it off because I was excited to order my eggplant, but unfortunately, we were not acknowledged at all. The server never came back to us, and we were left feeling extremely disappointed. We both got up and left, and I can't help but feel that the customer service at this place is definitely declining. Best darn pizza in Van Nuys as far as I am concern. Lido Pizza has been a Icon for many years in the San Fernando Valley. My work crew and I stopped there for lunch after a important meeting. My second time here in a long time. I think we ordered a large Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza. Taste really good as always with lots of cheese and sauce. Service was good, and also the Lasagna is FIRE as Lido's. They are only open at a certain time of day. They close early so check the daily schedule. If you've never been to Lidos and live in the valley, what are you even doing?? It's basically the same interior from the 70's, which we love, and very retro. If they did anything other than a true restoration it would be a shame. You can see the pizza being tossed in the kitchen, the staff is on it and the energy is just overall good vibes. Meatball pizza with onions and peppers is our go-to (so cheesy, great sauce, perfectly cooked), handmade pasta for the kids (we switch it up between wheat, shells and spaghetti), antipasto salad (lots of meats and cheese, so not really light, but incredible!). read more

I didn't like that we were not offered bread rolls like other Pizza Italian joints like Pizza cookery. We ordered spaghetti and still weren't offered any bread rolls. The pizza was okay I love the Italian dressing waitress was nice enough but I feel like it looks bad to not offer bread. Last minute dinner plan... We ordered from this place only a few minutes from us. Online reviews seem great. When we got here the restaurant was pretty busy. The service was great. We ordered a gluten free pie and a regular pie with half cheese and half pepperoni. Also, some meatballs and a salad. The food overall was not great. I had higher expectations since the reviews were good. Also, I'm from NY so finding a good slice outside NY isn't always easy. The crust on the reg pie was like getting a $1 in NYC... Nothing anyone would come back for. The pizza just looked sloppy when we opened the box. They placed the cheese on top of all the pepperoni which made it event difficult to figure out which side was a reg cheese and which had pepperoni. The sauce... Can't even really talk about that.. it wasn't memorable. The GF pizza had olives and mushrooms. Again they covered the toppings with cheese... I could see the olives but until we bit into it...we thought they forgot the mushrooms... The GF pizza actually tasted a little better than their reg pie. That's a bit sad. Omg the salad.. felt like there was little to no effort on the salad. My favorite thing was the meatballs. However, they didn't include ANY marinara sauce with the meatballs... This was a bit of a head scratcher. Luckily I had some marinara in my pantry. The meatballs were not too dense. I've had better but these were not bad. Anyway, this was disappointing. The cheese. Only worth it if you're getting a regular pizza. The amount of cheese is ridiculous. Watch them make your pizza, you'd be amazed at the mountain of cheese! I've ordered other foods and didn't really care for them, but this place is known for their pizza, so stick tot eg standard and just order a regular pizza. Don't go for too much toppings or changes, stick to the norm and get a regular pepperoni and be happy :) read more

First time here and it was pretty good! The pizza is okay. I appreciate the size and the customizable toppings with great price. I really liked the pasta. I think it was fettuccine with PINK sauce, which is a mixture of their red and white sauce. We also ordered a meatball on the side and the meatball was so good with the pasta. I would highly recommend ordering this! The salad was fresh and paired well with the pasta and the pizza. Service was unfortunately a miss for me. Did not check in for refills or to see how our table was doing, even though it was not very busy. The ambiance gives you old diner vibes. This restaurant is one of our regular spots and we went here last week on a Sunday for a family lunch. There's only one thing I always order here - the fresh pasta spaghetti with meat sauce. I order it to go and even when we dine in. Many years ago when I first moved to the area I always wondered what the restaurant was, from the outside it looked old and dark. Well it's quite dark when you get in but I got used to it. It has that old school vibe with large booths. Severs are always attentive and the orders doesn't take that long. Love how they give you really warm if not hot bread to start. I love the fresh pasta - you can taste the difference. The ravioli is also good, I had the linguini with clam sauce before. The pizza is good but depending on the toppings - it can a little bit too oily for me, for pizza I think the less toppings the better. The full order of the pasta is A lot! I always have leftovers. Parking is available in the front and back. Sometimes it's hard to find parking though as both lots get full. I would recommend this to groups/ families as the food is good for sharing. read more

Local pizza joint where it is kind of old school. They have tons of items on the menu but honestly just stick to the basics of pizza, pasta, salad, and bread. The place itself looks old and kind of outdated but don't let it fool you. The pizza itself is great, the pasta is ok, and you can't go wrong with bread or salad for the sides. The service was awesome, very attentive, had no problem changing red sauce and substituting white sauce on my Egg Plant Parmesan, and the spaghetti that accompanied it. We had their meat pizza, which was one of their specialty pizza's, we left the pepperoni off, put on salami in its place, and asked to only have onions on half, all of which they were happy to do. The pizza by the way, was some of the best pizza I've ever eaten, and I'm picky. Only complaint, they need to get some good crispy garlic bread , instead of the boring bland dinner rolls they serve, they're absolutely tasteless, served with rock hard butter that won't spread. Butter pats should be removed from the refrigerator during the shift, so that you can spread it on the roll. If you're going to keep the rolls, place cruets on each table of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, so that customers can dab their rolls in a combination of both. I'm no novice and quite frankly a pizza "player". Little Toni's in NOHO is a solid 10 for pizza-- and around$20. At their HH it is around $8-12. It's pretty pricey at LIDO albeit good. This is our 2nd time here. Natalia was our server both times. Excellent customer service! My husband had a lunch lasagna which he really liked. We also ordered a medium pizza half pepperoni and half hatch green chili. The green chili side was for me. It was yummy with some good spice to it! Cozy, dark atmosphere we really like it here!
