This was my first time at this location and the food was good. Service was excellent and the place was cool like a bar vibe. They had only a few tables but mainly bar seating. I ordered my favorite Ragu, tiramisu, and a glass of wine.. the pasta was fresh and was full of flavor and the tiramisu was very refreshing. The wine was smooth and delightful.
I was craving pasta and my nail tech recommended I try this spot out. They have a few different locations all over Los Angeles so there may be one near you! I came in and sat at the bar and ordered the yellowtail crudo. It was exceptional. I love that this place has an open concept kitchen. You can see the pasta dishes being prepared right in front of you. Of course I had to get the carbonara. It brought me right back to Italy. The pasta is imported from Bologna, so it was indeed nostalgic eating my carbonara as if I were back in Europe in that moment. I paired it with a nice Pinot Grigio. I ordered a side of cauliflower, a suggestion that Brad, my server, made. Although it was good, I could have done without it. Speaking of Brad, he was an amazing waiter. He came by several times asking if I were okay and offered many suggestions during my visit. Thanks Brad! Lastly, I could not leave without dessert. I ordered the classic tiramisu and it was simply incredible! In fact, I dream about that little tasty treat. The restaurant offers tasting menus which are sort of prix fixe style where for about 35-38 bucks pp (for 2 guests) you get a little bit of everything, including dessert. I can't wait to return with a friend try it out.
A good friend and I picked this place to have dinner, as I had been eyeing this spot for a while now. The fact that they import their handmade pasta from Italy overnight was intriguing and I had high hopes for this spot that unfortunately fell short. We ordered the classic tasting menu which comes with the hamachi crudo, pomodorini e basilico pasta, vongole pasta, pomodoro pasta, and a panna cotta dessert. The hamachi crudo and panna cotta dessert were the highlight of our dinner, which says a lot about the pasta that they are supposedly known for. The first pasta that came with cherry tomatoes and basil was actually delicious. The noodles had a good texture to them and the tomato flavor was fresh. The following pastas were a little disappointing as the vongole pasta was almost too salty to eat. My friend couldn't even finish her dish. The pomodoro was ok-- nothing special. For a restaurant that prides itself on importing their fresh pasta overnight from Italy, we expected to be wowed by the food, but unfortunately we just weren't. The service was great, however. Our server Thomas attended to us warmly all night and cleared our dishes in a timely manner. The restaurant itself is pretty small and dark inside with bar seating and a couple tables. The bar is nice to sit at since you can watch the chefs cook the pasta. Although the price point is fair, I don't think I'd return as the food was just not that impressive to me.
First time here and will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu! Since it was our first we went with "The Classic". For $35 it was well worth it. Each pasta had its own flavor and identity. The yellowtail was the perfect fresh start. The beef tartar is also a must order. Loved dinner here and can't wait to be back to try the other pastas!
Love Uovo, this is the 3rd branch I've been to (Pasadena, Marina Del Rey) and it's weird because this is the one closest to me. Was here on a Friday night arrived before 6pm and waited about 15 mins to be seated at the bar. Just fyi after us and after 6 pm the queue became longer. We stayed inside since there's space for 2 people to sit and wait. My friend doesn't like the sets so this time I ordered from the regular menu and I got Vongole and my friend got the lasagna. She also go some side vegetables and I ordered a Peroni. Like the other locations it's dark so you'll have to use your camera light to read the menu. I enjoyed the brocollini and funghi. I was given a little bowl to put my clam shells though most if not all of the clams were out anyways. Pasta has good texture and the dish has a good amount of clams and I did love the light flavor. It actually went well with my peroni. The area was busy so try to get there earlier if you want to be seated faster, parking is through sportsmen's lodge. Didn't realize there are so many other restaurants and stores. Nice neighborhood place for families.

It's just one of those restaurants that you don't wanna wait for. We happen to have been there on a weekday/midday. So it was a perfect time to just order takeout, the serving size is quite small for the price. The taste is delicious and quality as well. But I definitely think it's also those type of restaurants that it's best to just dine in to get the full experience. Inside the restaurant is quite small and limited seating so I guess that's why it's always crowded and people are waiting outside for a table. It's a dim lighted ambience as well if you're into that kind of thing.
The wait for Uovo can get quite long on the weekends, but we sat relatively quickly on a Thursday night. Upon check in, I bonded a bit with the kind host over the fact that our names were both Cody. He shared a couple of his favorite lines over the penguin movie "Surf's Up" (also starring Cody) and called us back to sit in about 15 minutes.The bar's not exactly the most comfortable place to sit. On this particular night, I was seated next to what seemed to be a little boy and his nanny who were causing me to feel a bit cramped as the little bugger left his bottle of Sprite right in front of me and neither of the two deemed it appropriate to move it 3 inches to the left. Unfortunately, bar seating takes up the majority of the restaurant, and if you'd like to sit at one of the 4 tables they have, it's gonna be a significantly longer wait. The carbonara was delicious, made with pasta imported from Italy and traditional, authentic smoky bits of guanciale. The tiramisu is a must. It might be the best tiramisu I've ever had. Rich, creamy, and totally indulgent. In the moody, dim lighting of the restaurant, if I closed my eyes, I could disappear into the symphony of flavors and almost (but not completely) tune out the little brat seated next to me screaming CACIO E PEPE every time I said it. Speaking of which, the cacio e pepe was also very good. The noodles were a perfect al dente, and though the recipe was simple, the execution was well done. Though my night was not as peaceful as I would've liked, I still thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Unfortunately, this restaurant isn't really built for guests to sit and savor. The bar seating, although trendy and modern, feels a bit industrial and claustrophobic, designed for people to come, eat quickly, and leave as opposed to dine. Regardless, the food is phenomenal.
I've been to this UOVO several times. Definitely come during OFF hours as the parking lot here can get crazy as well as the wait. They do not take reservations but I came at 5pm with no wait. I always order the tasting menu at UOVO and its extremely worth the price. This time I came for the Regional because of the beef tartar or Battuta di carne. Man that dish is AWESOME! It's tender, lightly seasoned and lets the meat shine through. The cheese tortellini was my favorite this time! Portion is great and I always leave full on the tasting menu with a friend. I highly recommend trying UOVO at least once! The quality of the pasta and simplicity of the dishes makes me always willing to come back
This is my first time in a fancy very dimly lit restaurant in Los Angeles haha. The wait took about an hour to get a table for 2 on a weekday night. Not too bad but adding that here to give a heads up that you may need to wait a bit. For the food itself, it was pretty good! I asked if they had any chicken options and they said there were none. They did have some vegetarian options which was nice. I got the Cacio e Pepe. The proportion looks small but it was very filling so I was satisfied with the quantity provided. It has a kick of salt to it so keep that in mind. I also tried the tiramisu. It was also pretty tasty and the coffee/cream ratio worked great. It was pretty small though for an $11 sweet treat. Overall, for the price you get a taste for a luxurious experience on a relatively affordable budget. They said they fly the ingredients every night from Italy so that felt very Boujee. I'd go again if a friend that loves Italian food visits ^-^
I can't get enough of this place! It's trendy, romantic, and has such a great vibe. I love it for a date night or a girls night. The ambiance is amazing, and the staff is so kind and helpful. My friend loved the lasagna, and I loved the bolognese. Don't forget the tiramisu!
I had the cheese and truffle tasting menu which is good for two people. The menu comes with Yellowtail crudo which was so fresh and a good appetizer. The pasta tastings are: Tagliatelle in truffle sauce - Probably my favorite of the three because I am a huge fan of truffle) Pomodoro - The only red sauce of the three. Cacio e Pepe - Heavy handed on parmesan. For dessert it is tiramisu which was perfect to end the meal. To drink I paired the meal with white wine. Just a very good meal entirely. Sportsman Lodge offers 90 minutes free parking. The service was good and I want to come back.
This spot can be easy to miss but it delivers some top notch pasta. It's the closest you'll get to eating pasta in Italy without booking a flight. It's a cute little spot and awesome for date night. One fun fact is that their pasta is made in Italy and imported overnight. You can really taste the difference in texture, flavor and authenticity. The tasting menu ($35 / per person) is a fantastic way to sample a variety of their pastas, especially if it's your first time. It let's you figure out your favorites for your next visit. And if you're a truffle fan, their truffle pasta is great. Although you're not getting fresh shaved pasta on top like most truffle pastas be warned that this taste will linger in your mouth for a while. Haha. Now, I can say that their tiramisu, although good, it could use a little work. They don't take reservations, so if you're coming with more than two people, be prepared for a bit of a wait. But, honestly it's worth it. The service was also excellent and our waitress was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu.

Always such a great experience any time I come here. The food is delicious and the staff is so friendly and professional. Thomas has been my server a couple times now and he always is a positive plus to my experience here. He knows exactly what to recommend, checks on you constantly, and is so kind! First, i want to say that the restaurant is located in a beautiful area. Walking around the neighborhood was incredibly enjoyable and made the whole experience even better. when it comes to the restaurant itself, i honestly don't have enough words to describe how amazing it was i found out that the pasta is handmade rather than premade, and it's brought fresh from Italy every evening. That surprised me and made dining there even more special. The pasta i ordered was prepared with white wine. The portion looked a bit small at first, but it was very filling and absolutely delicious. I would also like to give special recognition to the manager. she was incredibly kind, welcoming, energetic, and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. We were treated to a delicious pasta that wasn't yet on the menu, which was such a thoughtful gesture. I will definitely come back just for that pasta! Everything was excellent - the atmosphere, the people, the food, and the service. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone. I would love to see more seafood pasta dishes added to the menu, and I can't wait to visit again. read more

All right - let's start by saying I love UOVO in general. Been to the location in Pasadena and in Marina del Rey multiple times and was never disappointed. Service is great, food is fabulous in general consider the price and I love the interior and ambience. Couple of things disappointed me this time... 1. We sat at the bar and we felt a bit rushed, the server literally asked to take away one of the plates before we even started! The restaurant was not super busy at the time so not sure why they were "rushing us". 2. The tiramisu... again this is not my first time at Uovo although it is the first time I visited the Studio City spot; there was something off with the Tiramisu to the point that my friend and I did not even finish the dessert. There was a chocolate fudge thing on top as you can see in the picture that was way too much and way too overwhelming. Could not taste the coffee at all. The cream was very heavy... Other than that the pasta is always top notch, so I will definitely give them another try sometime soon! read more

Although reservations are not accepted, UOVO is a great restaurant for an intimate date. Eating here is a fun experience similar to Kazunori. You sit at a beautiful wood countertop and get to watch the kitchen flow as you enjoy your meal. If it's your first time, I recommend getting the Cheese & Truffle Tasting Menu. It includes the tagliatelle in truffle sauce which is easily their best pasta. The rest of the dishes are good and serve as an introduction to the restaurant, but if you're like I am, you'll keep coming back for the truffle pasta. It's not on the menu, but you can order the truffle pasta as a stand alone dish for $25. Considering the quality and price point, the portions here are fantastic. The amount of food you get in the mentioned tasting menu is perfect for two. Food was excellent, pasta was cooked to perfection, Al dente!!! We had the Cheese & Truffle tasting menu and the yellowtail crudo was perfection, cut thinly and expertly seasoned! Then we had the truffle pasta which was surprisingly so delicious! Then we had the pomo pasta which is my favorite! Last pasta was the cacio e pepe which was to die for. The tiramisu was excellent. All in all a must try venue to enjoy and savor and hmmmmmm... Cute little place, only sits a total of 44 which makes it cozy. No tipping in this restaurant which is very European. Love it! Another lovely date night at Uovo Studio City. As usual food was excellent and servers go above and beyond. Our favorite dish (Cacio e Pepe) was served cold and when we spoke with the staff about our concerns they didn't hesitate to make the moment right & fire us up a brand new pasta. The seating is small, limited & you're likely to be sat close together with other parties but you can't beat the dark ambiance & vibes! So happy to have this location here in the valley read more

Uovo never misses. The pasta is handmade and flown in from Bologna. The texture is delicate and fresh. I always go for the regional option (red sauce, more meat-forward), and it delivers every time. It's satisfying without feeling heavy. What makes this place stand out is the value. For under $38, you're getting a full experience of a sashimi appetizer, 3 pastas, and dessert. The quality and variety at that price point is unheard of. Consistently one of my favorite spots. This place is a must. read more

I had a great experience at Uovo Italian Pasta Restaurant in Studio City. I tried the arrabbiata and the tiramisu, and both were absolutely awesome. The pasta was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of spice. I also loved that their pasta is made in Italy and shipped overnight, which really adds to the authenticity and quality of the experience. The tiramisu was excellent as well - light, creamy, and a perfect way to finish the meal. Definitely a place I would recommend for anyone who enjoys quality Italian food in Los Angeles. read more

I just love this Italian restaurant. Having gone to Rome and Florence last year, I yearned for a more authentic Italian cuisine that taste like al the delicious food I had in Italy, especially Rome. Too many "Italian restaurants" (and especially Pizzerias) in the US have a more "American" flavor that is quite different from what is served in even the humblest small mom and pop restaurants at a random street in Rome. Ingredients play a major factor, from the type of pasta to what is put in the sauce, and one of the noticeable difference is in the cheese. Rome uses Pecorino Romano cheese and it really does make the pastas taste so much better. So to my delight, the pasta dishes at UOVO do taste like authentic Italian pasta! They specialize in dishes from Bologna and Rome, and my favorite dish is there! Ever since my trip, I've been craving Cacio e Pepe - "handmade tonnarelli with Pecorino Romano DOP & our blend of imported black pepper" - and this is the real deal! Every bite brings me back to the piazzas of Rome (Trastevere specifically), and paired with one of their delicious red wines, I swear I feel like I'm back in Rome. I just love UOVO and I'm excited to explore more of their menu. Until I make another trip to Italy, UOVO will be the next best thing. Ciao! read more
Since it was our first time and we were three we ordered their 3 antipasti and 3 different pastas and asked if we could eat "family style" so we could try each other's choices. Really good antipasti - the arugula salad was the best, perfectly dressed. Their "battuta de carne" (waygu beef tartare) was smooth and really pleasant and their yellow tail crisp was fresh though it could have used a little more seasoning. Very good handmade pasta which they say is flown in daily from Italy! Their sauces were pretty good too. We had their Anatriciana with generous amounts of guanciale - really good. Vongolé - was a bit bland for me, not enough garlic and white wine but the pasta made it good and ravioli de ricotta was very tasty and quite good. They don't serve bread though, which I find odd. How can there be no bread to lap up the sauce??? We also got a side of mushrooms and that was delicious. We sat at their wide bar so that we didn't have to wait and it was very comfortable. The bar winds around the open kitchen and you can watch their automated pasta cooker which at first I thought was a deep fryer. Really very cool vantage point. Our server was outstanding - they all were so nice, friendly and informative. For the service alone I'd definitely go back - and the menu is worth exploring more. It is located in a pretty big sprawling complex and it isn't facing the street, so at first I couldn't find it. There is parking in the complex but it's rather chaotic - so be prepared if you've never been before. I thought I was lost but my gps kept saying I arrived - but there was no sign - am I going crazy? So I went back out of the parking, parked on Ventura Blvd and followed my GPS by foot !!! read more

What I ordered: - Cheese & truffle tasting menu The cheese & truffle menu ($38pp and requires two people) consists of yellowtail crudo, tagliatelle in truffle sauce, pomodoro, cacio e pepe, and a tiramisu. The menu says that the noodles are handmade in Italy and flown overnight, so my expectations got a little bit higher. The yellowtail was good in quality. The lemon and blood orange provided a nice contrast to the olive oil, but the Fresno chilis didn't have any heat to them. The tagliatelle in truffle sauce was cooked al dente. The pasta itself didn't really hold itself to the truffle sauce, which was a tad watery to me. However, I could still taste the truffle. My least favorite pasta dish of the bunch. The pomodoro was also cooked al dente. I loved the sauce, you could taste the vibrant tomatoes along with the parmigiano-reggiano. It was my favorite pasta dish of the bunch. The cacio e pepe was slightly overcooked in my opinion. It was definitely solid, but I wanted just a bit more cheese and pepper. Tiramisu was solid as well. My only complaint is that the ladyfingers didn't soak up all the coffee, so there was a pool of coffee at the bottom. The ladyfingers were also tilted inside the cup so you had to angle your spoon for that "perfect bite". All that being said, it was a slightly better tiramisu than your typical Italian spot. read more

Wow! What an amazing experience! After showing several properties around the area, my client friend and his dad and I were all hungry! Who knew that viewing homes and properties would make you so hungry? Lol! Anyway, found this place on yelp because they wanted Italian. I saw the pics and wanted the yellowtail. Mmm! Parking is free for 90 min. After that it was $8 so keep that in mind. We were here for just over 2 hrs. But on a Tuesday night, I found great parking right by the restaurant. It's a little hidden so I asked a security guard and he pointed the spot out. lol! Anyway, it was about 5pm. We got there and there was just 1 other party there. But after we sat down, it filled in and got full within an hr! We got lucky! The ambience was intimate and romantic and perfect for dates or a small group. The 3 of us were greeted by Colin who sat us, then we were greeted by Jessica & then Thomas. The whole team was so attentive and so great! The service is amazing here! Let me tell you, the FOOD! Omg! So, definitely check out the pics! We started with some sparkling water, then ordered the Cheese & Truffle sampler or taste menu for 2 & shared that. The Yellowtail was sooooo delicious and I loved the chili pepper on top! The Tagliatelle with truffle!!! Drool!!! Sooooo yummy! Anything truffle is soooo good! Pomodoro & Cacio e Pepe was good too! Perfect temperature and texture! Did you know they fly in their pasta fresh daily from Italy? I think it's something to do with the eggs there. I heard it's a deeper orange or reddish yolk. Wow! Anyway, we got a red wine bottle; forgot what it was called but they said it had chocolate and cherry. Perfect with all the pastas. We also ordered: - Insalata arugula & mizuna (So refreshing and delicious with the almonds & heart of palm) - Ravioli was sooooo delicate, it melted in your mouth!! - Fazzoletti was so unique and delicious too! The sauce! - Vongole! Wow! The family recipe! The clams & the sauce were sooooo good! - Lastly, the Tiramisu! Omg! I wish it was bigger! Soooo good! The cream!!! We gotta come back for more! Walking into this place felt like stepping into a modern yet intimate pasta bar where the focus is seriously on real, old-world Italian craftsmanship. I found the portions smaller than expected but the pasta was fresh and incredible. Lovely service and staff. Loved watching everything being made in front of me. Great place for first date since you can sit at the bar and it's as cozy vibe. Make note they don't take reservations and 16% service fee is added to the bill. Absolutely delicious. read more
Casual Pasta bar serving handmade pasta from Italy. Great place for a quick pasta craving fix as they have a expansive menu of pasta dishes in addition to wine selection. We ordered the crudo which was fresh with generous cuts. The olive oil served on top of the fish was a bit overwhelming as it was overpowering. We ordered the special of the day, truffle butter pasta and tagliatelle ai carciofi (artichoke). Yes, the pasta was excellent! The truffle butter pasta at $25 didn't have fresh truffle!! What? This dish was very delicious; however, for the next 24hrs. I could taste the truffle oil in my mouth and it was not pleasant. The artichoke tagliatelle was rich but left me craving something more flavorful and filling. I will give this place another chance; hopefully the meat pasta dishes will be more satisfying. read more

One of the most beautiful experiences I've had. I absolutely can't speak enough about the food quality here. Everything is so professionally done and detailed. I've worked in the fine dining industry for years and this place is fabulous without the pressure. It's like a casual Italian fine dining experience. My youngest son choose Uovo for the family to celebrate his birthday. Excellent choice. It was perfect for the four of us and is great for multiples of two when you want to try the tasting menus. We went early, put in our names and ended waiting just 15 minutes or so, very lucky. Uovo flies the pasta in fresh overnight for all of their restaurants. Pasta is delicious as advertised. We ordered the Cheese and Truffle tasting menu and The Regional tasting menu. The Waitress allowed us to substitute one of the Tiramisu for the Panna cotta con saba so we could try both desserts. We loved the Panna the best so we were happy we got to try it. The tasting menus came with one appetizer, three pastas and one dessert. The battuta di carne and thin sliced yellowtail crudo were very taste with good flavor. All of the pastas were very good but our top 3 favorite pastas were the tagliatelle in truffle sauce, tortellini and the ragu. The service was excellent. The tip is a flat percentage and automatically added to the bill. Our service was so good we gave our Waitress extra cash which she declined but we insisted. The restaurant split each of the plates into two separate plates which make it easy to share between two people for each dish. They kept our water full, explained each dish and as mentioned let us swap out one of the desserts so we could try something different. Although the restaurant was busy they allowed us to dine instead rushing us. Our next trip we plan to go with six of us so we can try all three tasting menus. For great pasta, appetizers, desserts and service you have to try Uovo at least once. Price is reasonable for very good pasta. It's a bit lot due to the coziness of the restaurant so be prepared to speak loudly to carry a conversation. read more
Ouvo is hands-down one of my favorite Italian spots in the city. Every time I go, 1 always order the truffle pasta (pro tip: it's an off-menu item-just ask!). It's rich, perfectly balanced, and somehow even better every time I have it. All of their pastas are incredibly fresh-you can truly taste the quality in every bite. And let's talk about the wine... the glasses are huge, which I love. It's the perfect place to unwind, enjoy great food, and sip generously poured wine in a cozy, welcoming space. read more

I know I saw evrything is delicious but omg their pasta is DELICIOUSSSS. Legit could eat here once a week. We have been wanting to try this place for a minute now and we finally did (for my bday hehe). I was very impressed. It's a little fancy restaurant but it felt very comfortable and cozy. All the pastas we ordered were amazing, melt in your mouth fresh. I even like the truffle pasta and I hate truffle flavored things! Staff was super sweet and welcoming. Overall such a good place for pasta. We'll be back until we try the whole menu and then we'll repeat LOL! read more

They have "gluten free" pasta but they cook it in the same water as the rest of the pasta so it is definitely not celiac safe, which is a bummer because the food is delicious (I am not celiac but my girlfriend is and therefore uovo is off our list…
