I went to lids today 02/19/2024 and the guy worker named Dustin was extremely rude and he had so much attitude for no reason. He said if you buy clearance you can't get a receipt and he didn't even give me my change. That has never happened to me at other Lids stores the workers always gave me my receipt. My husband and I came here to custom design a hat. I originally came in because I made a custom hat online and was not too happy with it and it was almost double what you can pay in the store. I was hoping they can unravel the part I was unhappy with and do something different. They really couldn't do much for me since the online portal handles things differently than the store, which is fine. Plus, they didn't have the tool to unstitch. We just ended up making a new hat. We worked with the store manager, who was really cool and there were these 2 other guys who were working in the embroidery area. They were so cool and really patient especially since we came in at almost closing. They helped make our design come to life and when we got our hat back, it was exactly what we wanted! I wish I caught their names, but really cool guys. This hat was a Mitchell & Ness so it was really good quality and it was half the price than what I paid at Custom Lids online for a New Era cap. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Dustin is the most unprofessional manager I've EVER ran into. He's very unprofessional and the way he speaks to his customers is outrageous. I wasn't greeted, the store was a mess. I reached out to another store in Livermore to get someone above him information since he refused to give me a corporate number or pass my information over to a district manager. This review is solely for the inexperienced the so called cashier, customer service representative that worked at the store , that worked behind the counter, cashier named Chris. First of all I had a few things to returns and was up in line for Chris to help.. He took my receipt and examined my items then asked if he can help other customers in line really quick. Then asked for me to shop around. I stood next to the cashier waited for him to process my return. In my head I'm like why? Looked at the line and there's roughly 6 people in line. He then proceeded to help the people in line as if I didn't exsist as a customer that waited in line like everyone else. I am a customer as well but somehow he felt that he should minimize the ppl waiting in line versus processing my refund that literally took less than 2 minutes when he was done. I'm a very good customer for this business and by the way he handled things today I wasn't impressed. Every time I've come by this store you get piss poor service from workers who think they should get paid more than minimum wage by sitting on their phones and ignoring customers. This time on 8/31/2021 around 3:45pm the tool bag behind the counter kept trying to argue and had a bad attitude toward people including myself. He told me to leave the store because my 2 year old did not want to wear his mask anymore after wearing it all day. Then he kicked out two more people for having a drink in the store with the lid on. Small and can get busy. Called in asking about a hat i KNEW they had and the girl who helped me right away said they didn't have it. This was a lie because my friend had bought the hat I was asking about not even a week prior! I had to drive 25 min away to see for myself There was an employee who does NOT know her products! I came here to get some embroidery done on my Raider hat. $12 and 30 minutes later, I had something to remember my Uncle with. I came back the next day and got a hat for my cousin. I also got it embroidered. The price out the door was $50. It was a bit expensive but I don't plan on doing this often. The guys were friendly and helpful. I'm a hat club member but I know Lids is a preferred NewEra account holder so I'll probably be back in the next few months with the NFL regular season hats coming out. read more

4* rating from me and that's not because I HATE Hatclub, but because not once have I ever had a problem here in person nor when I order online and have my items delivered here. Could have easily been a 5* but there was one time I called looking for the Raiders 2015 BCA hat and they didn't have it in. That's cool with me, but don tell me that you have the 49ers BCA hat in as if I want that. I'm no Ranker like bandwagoners in the Bay Area. I stay loyal to my team. Not once will I ever say I like both teams. Choose a side and be true or go root for an out of state team. I have read others reviews and while I do feel bad that the custom work on your hats came out down right putrid and you paid for it...sometimes times it best to keep the hat in its original quality and form. Sometimes makes for an easier re-sell if it ever comes to that. Anyways there have been plenty of times that ordered online and have picked up at the store. Never a problem. The one and only time there was an issue was when I was sent the wrong style hat from what I ordered. However when I brought it in for a return I wasn't hassled at all. Michelle, the store manager Im guessing as she is always there, was cool about the return. Even though she asked if I wanted to browse around in case I might want something else it was just a mere suggestion, I didn't take it as if she was trying to force me to get something else. I would say for the most part the employees are nice. I'm not quite sure what their knowledge is in regards to hats, but I don't judge them on that but more how approachable they are if I need something from the top or if they are able to get what I want in another size. For the most part if not all the time I have never had a problem with any employee there. The selection is pretty good especially when it comes to standard colorways. If there is one thing that I do dislike about Lids, its the fact that they have all these ugly colorways and sometimes the hat is overkill. For example, a Raiders hat with the Raider logo on the Cali state. Cool, but then why do you have to go and overkill it with another Raider logo on the side of the hat. But that's not the fault of the store but the Lids company as a whole for designing crap. Anyways, before I get off topic. I think this place is great. Most if not all the employees are chill and get you what you need. If for anytime in the future I feel the need to update this I will and give an update. read more

My wife was there this morning trying to get me the Warriors championship hat and the employee there was trying to sell the last hat to 4 different people for $60 that was priced at around $32. The employee then gave the reason for the markup as "this hat is gonna sell online for $100 since there aren't any left, so it's $60." Unauthorized markup of items for personal profit is illegal. That hat should have gone to the next person in line for the price on the tag. I called the store manager this evening, and was dismissively told "oh okay, I'll look into it it, man," and did not give me the name of the guy that worked the morning shift. Came to buy a few hats, talked me into getting an embroidery put on one of the new hats i purchased. The lady said it will be done in thirty minutes, so I came back in an hour giving her the benefit of the doubt, she said it wasn't finished yet and will take another 30 minutes i said ok. Came back in thirty minutes still wasn't done. She said she was cleaning it up to look nice and to give her another 30 minutes. I waited around and finally I asked to see what it looked like so far. It was sloppy and crooked and it looked nothing like it was suppose to. It was suppose to look like the golden gate bridge with a silhouette of the city in the background. Looked more like it was the aftermath of an earthquake. She then told me it was the machine, something broke on it. By then i didnt want to hear any excuses. I just ended up returning everything I bought. Wasted two hours of my time. Can I give something lower than a 1 star to bring back the old management? I have always gone to LIDS in Concord. It was always my go to stop as I thought the management was very knowledgeable, and the staff was friendly. Or at least it all used to be. I decided to make a yelp account all because I wanted to leave a review for this location. So I actually live a lot closer to the LIDS in Antioch, but it's literally a stand in a dead mall (not much choices), so Concord LIDS would always be the place I hit up to get my hats, and to get them embroidered. But this store is completely different now. I believe it's because of the change in management. For the past couple of years, it's always been pretty cool. I know the last manager was a dude, and I never had a problem with him. I went there, got hooked up with my size, and my stitching was always done right. But my girl and I have recently had nothing but issues and bad customer service with this store. It just seems as if the staff doesn't really know about what they're selling, and my last embroideries from them have been nothing but awful. Slanted stitching, and they don't clean it up like they used to. I feel as though the current manager (pretty sure it's a new girl because I haven't seen the old manager dude in a while) is just working in the wrong type of store. Not very knowledgeable, and thinks she knows everything. Won't bother trying to ask questions. Bring back the old manager who knew about hats, and made sure I was taken care of. Just a disappointment in this store. Was a loyal customer, but won't be back to this location again. read more

Where do I start, I was in this store I believe a few weeks ago or so and I was waiting for my hat to be embroidered by an associate not too sure of their name but that's not the point. The point is their manager who I believe it was, was talking to a group of young men in their late teens and talking about how "slow" and how "dumb" and how two of her associates must have came off the "slow bus" and how they're "retarded" that is not okay to these associates working there it was not a joke either I heard her say it with a straight face and even the boys she was telling it to looked as if they took it offensive not to say she was very rude herself..it took everything inside of me not to say anything but I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Someone needs to stop this I want to pass by this week to look for and talk to someone who works there or talk to who did my embroidery to see if this is what type of person this lady really is. Got two hats today. One warriors and one custom HK Army hat. When we walked in we were instantly greeted by the staff and told if we had any questions just to ask. Didn't take long to decide what we wanted. They took down what I wanted on my special made hat and got right to work on it. It took a bit but there was a TON of people in there so that's normal. The staff was really cool to talk to. They were all really nice. Michelle and her team are a great group of people.
