I have to give Rick a stellar review because he is such a pro (and a really nice guy). I had a small accident with a BMW and he worked with us to find the right solution and for less that I imagined. He explained our options very well, was very pleasant to work with and even washed the car so that it looks just like new! I was referred to Liebes Auto Body by a highly reputable auto-repair shop in the area, so I had a good feeling going in. Indeed, the owner of Liebes Auto Body, Rick, did not disappoint. I took in my 2011 BMW 335is that needed front bumper work, thanks to a parking block that did a number on it. Rick carefully looked at the damage and assessed the bumper to be repairable, rather than needing a more expensive replacement. Rick was straightforward to deal with. The car was returned to me looking immaculate, and with a very nice front bumper. Having a good, trustworthy body shop is valuable. Liebes will now be my go-to. read more

Rick is an artist. He was able to fix the (badly crumpled) rear quarter panel and rear door of our X5 in a mere week where anybody else would have punted, ordered new parts and taken 4 weeks. Just so I don't waste anyone's time, this review is only about a phone call to get an estimate. I did not use any of their services, but found their customer service to be noteworthy. If I am ever in need of the type of services they offer, I will be visiting them. I have a 1977 Honda Goldwing GL1000 that I am currently restoring so I decided to reach out to Liebes Autobody to see how much they would charge to strip my frame. I spoke with Rick who was incredibly helpful. I asked him if they had a media blaster at their shop and he said they strip with chemicals / sanding. He continued on to explain what type of paint my bike originally came with, which he said is very good quality. Considering the condition of my frame, as I described to him over the phone, he recommended taking a wire wheel to all the rusted metal and sand the paint that is still there and use it as a base coat. He continued to give me some more advice on rust treatment which was invaluable to my project. If I ever need auto body work done I will be visiting Rick and his staff as his professionalism was bar none. read more

At the risk of being repetitive, I am offering yet another EXCELLENT review for an amazing job done on a minor paint touch-up effort, that would have cost me much bigger $$ elsewhere, because small jobs are usually not met with the attitude of customer service in most other places of business. These guys are absolutely top-notch across all types of service providers I use. I was referred to Rick at Liebes Autobody by Planet Auto in Menlo Park. I have an older sports car that needed some paint work, blacking of various parts, some small interior work, and a targa top overhaul. Rick drove out to meet me for an estimate, looked over the car in great detail, made some super suggestions for additional work that he could do at a reasonable price, and later that day sent a detailed estimate broken out in detail so I could pick and choose what I wanted done. They also picked up and dropped off my car to help with my crazy schedule. The paint work was beautiful, the targa top overhaul fantastic, the blacking made a world of difference. Overall, for a very reasonable price, I got a great bundle of work done that really spiffed up the car. I also very much appreciated Rick's style. He was very detail-oriented, straight forward, and communicated clearly and frequently during the job. One example, when I asked if he was marking up the work he sent out of his shop (the targa top), his answer was a quick, clear yes with a fair markup. I greatly appreciated that he was straightforward on that and felt the price was more than fair for the convenience of having it all managed in one place. I stopped by and after he assessed the damage, he shared an estimation of cost within a few hours! Not only is he extremely efficient, he was extremely responsive - would respond to my calls and messages immediately if I had any questions. My car was ready in time (no delays) and looked brand new (great detailing and car wash). Not only was the service great, Rick and the team are extremely kind and responsive. I had a small paint issue on my bumper that I wanted to get fixed right away and at a reasonable price, so I stopped by the place that my trusted mechanic at Palo Alto Bimmer had just recommended (and apparently they've been recommending Liebes Auto Body for over 30 years)! When I got there on a Monday afternoon, I spoke to the owner Rick, and he took some pictures of the issue and then provided me with an estimate by email around 5pm that evening. Rick then walked me through the estimate, and said that if I brought in the car the next morning (i.e. Tuesday morning), he'd be able to get the work done by Friday end of day. The price for the fix was very fair (I checked with a couple Auto Body Shops), the work that was completed and the turnaround was excellent, and I felt that Rick and team went above and beyond! Also, Rick told some interesting and funny stories, and the place smelled surprisingly good since there's a bakery next door that makes freshly baked goods. Rick and his team did a great job and were very pleasant to deal with. I was referred to Rick from Palo Alto Bimmer after getting an overpriced quote from my dealer-recommended shop to deal with a keyed car. Rick provided a fair quote, got it done a little faster than the first body shop would promise, and met me at the shop on a Saturday morning when they are normally closed so I could pick it up at a more convenient time for my schedule. He also offered to drop me off at work to help with the initial dropoff. They did a great job blending/buffing/matching the original brown metallic paint and you can't tell there was ever any problem with it.
