The rating could be improved, if things change. As a LifeTime Fitness member for nearly three years, I've witnessed the highs and lows of being part of this community. Initially, my employer covered my membership, but after a job transition, I chose to continue the membership out of pocket. At the time, I felt the value LifeTime offered--its service, amenities, and atmosphere--was worth the cost. However, recent developments have made me question whether that remains true. When I first joined LifeTime Boca Raton, I was impressed by the facility's walk-through and the glowing recommendations from my new neighbors. The club embodied a sense of community with its café, group classes, and social atmosphere. My personal highlights included the sauna, a curated selection of exercise equipment, and, most notably, the Pickleball courts. These features made the experience not just about fitness but about fostering connections. Over time, I hired a trainer, attended group classes, participated in a LifeTime Pickleball tournament, and met some truly wonderful gym mates, largely thanks to the vibrant and well-managed Pickleball community. That sense of community and the premium experience LifeTime promised is what kept me here. But unfortunately, that promise seems to be unraveling. ### Membership Rate Increase and Communication Recently, I received a message from the Membership Concierge Leader outlining an increase in membership dues, raising my monthly rate from $199 to $219 (plus tax) almost $250/month. The justification included investments in renovations, upgraded equipment, and new studios. The message also cited factors like membership tenure and operational adjustments, adding that new members are paying $60 more than existing ones. While I appreciate the transparency and the emphasis on ongoing improvements, this increase feels misaligned with the principle of rewarding loyalty. As the message stated: "The decision to adjust rates is not arbitrary, and no member is singled out." However, this approach--raising rates for existing members under the guise of "maintaining a premium experience"--feels disingenuous. It highlights an underlying issue: gym memberships now function more like adjustable-rate contracts, with customers shouldering the cost of facility upgrades. For members like me, who have supported LifeTime through years of loyalty, this strategy erodes trust and diminishes the perceived value of staying. ### Changes to Pickleball and Community Dynamics Perhaps more disappointing than the rate increase are the recent changes to the Pickleball courts and the social structure that made this club a special place for so many. Under new management, the Open Play hours have been significantly reduced, and court availability has become limited due to stricter reservation rules. The resident Pickleball community--arguably the backbone of the club's social dynamic--was not consulted during these adjustments. This lack of collaboration has fractured what was once a thriving, self-sustaining community. The new system has also introduced enforcement challenges, such as managing no-shows for reservations, creating unnecessary friction among members. In contrast, other local clubs have adopted more thoughtful, community-driven approaches, including self-governing waitlists and systems tailored to their members' needs. Pickleball was my primary reason for maintaining this membership. It wasn't just a sport; it was a way to connect with others, unwind, and be part of something greater. These changes have disrupted that dynamic, making the experience feel corporate, impersonal, and out of touch with the community it serves. ### Final Thoughts This feedback is shared not out of anger but from a place of disappointment. LifeTime was once a bright spot in my routine--a place I looked forward to after a long day at work. But with arbitrary rate increases and mismanaged changes to core activities like Pickleball, I find myself reconsidering whether the cost is worth it. I still enjoy the friends I've made, the group classes, and some of the amenities LifeTime offers, but it's not the same. When a core element like Pickleball--the very reason I stayed--feels like an afterthought, it's hard not to feel disillusioned. I hope LifeTime reconsiders its tactical approach to pricing and community management. Annika (Boca yoga teacher) groped my chest with both hands for about 10 seconds & leaned in my ear & she said, You're lucky it's not your balls!" I told Julie at the Concierge team the next day on Monday. Anna Makeupson, her boss, said she wrote her up & if she does it again, she will fire her. After Anna told me I should have stuck up for myself?? Anna said that Annika is their best teacher & is moving to California in 3 months anyway. So they did nothing. After 30 days, I made a police report. Anna lied to the cop & said I never mentioned anything physical happened, only a complaint for inappropriate comment was made by me. I complained after it happened & mentioned how she lightly slapped my face too. Anna also told the police that Annika did a "pre-class breathing exercise where she adjusted my shoulders." That was a total lie. Lastly, they got someone from the class, as a witness, who told the cop she did not see Annika do anything wrong, in efforts to discredit my story. Annika has slapped mine, and my partners ass in class (which I mentioned to Julie & Anna). Annika is rebellious & pushes the envelope. Often using the "F" word frequently. I received a call from Susan (Palm Beach Gardens General Manager) & was told Annika is "no longer with Life Time" and could I not speak to anyone about this event. I asked for a billing reprieve then. 3 weeks went by after Susan said she would speak with concierge services and get back with me. I saw Susan at the Boca club on a Monday & introduced myself. Susan then told me they do not give any credits & would not be doing anything for me. They are happy with their decision. I told I was not happy. I called corporate & was told I can quit without waiting the 30 day period. That is it. Anna is an unethical liar who did her best to cover this up & brush it under the rug. I am very disappointed with the way this was handled & at no fault of mine, I am not a member. I used this in Michigan & Florida (as I travel to Michigan for business monthly). I have hired a lawyer so that I am happy with this outcome, rather than asked not to discuss it, like a victim. Boca Raton facility allows creepy TOUCHING & GROPING. They will do their best to cover it up, like they did mine. read more

Venturing into the spa services for a waxing appointment, I encountered a technician who, while respectful and considerate, lacked a gentle touch and seemed rushed. The front desk staff at the spa also left something to be desired in terms of welcoming customer service. On a more positive note, the gym boasts a clean and luxurious environment with well-organized equipment layout and separate floors, providing a comfortable workout space. However, my child did not take to the kids' club after a few months, leading me to remove her from the membership around the 9-month mark. The on-site cafe, though convenient, disappointed with its average food quality and high prices. Despite this, I appreciated a special promotion around my 8th month of membership, offering free coffee with the purchase of their Tumblr cups. In conclusion, while the gym offers a pleasant and spacious environment, with ample parking available, the shortcomings in the spa services and kids' club experience have left me considering a possible renewal at another location upon my upcoming move. read more

I've been a member here for a while, and it's honestly shocking how poorly this location is managed. The facility itself is clearly outdated, with aging equipment and a general lack of upkeep that you wouldn't expect given the premium prices they charge. What's most frustrating is the constant price increases with little to no justification. This isn't a member-owned country club where improvements directly benefit equity holders, it's a corporate operation. Yet somehow, the financial burden of renovations and upgrades gets passed directly onto members. Even worse, they routinely shut down major amenities for months at a time for renovations, but don't adjust membership fees accordingly. Paying full price while large portions of the facility are unusable is unreasonable and frankly insulting. There also seems to be zero appreciation or support for long-term, loyal members who have stuck with this location despite its decline. That loyalty is taken for granted rather than valued. In talking with other members, it's clear this isn't an isolated opinion, many share the same frustrations about the condition of the facility and the way it's being run. Overall, this location falls far short of expectations, and management seriously needs to rethink how they treat their members. read more

**PLEASE READ** I would highly recommend anyone who is questioning signing up to this gym to run far away. For the price of the monthly fee (150.00$) you would think your signing up to a great gym but you are not. It is the closest thing to a concentration camp. Who wants to pay all that money and not be able to bring guests more then once a month and if you dare train with someone or ask someone's advices there, the personal trainers report you and threaten to terminate your contract for doing so. Don't plan on helping your fiancée like I did, a trainer will come up to you threatening that you can't do that in the middle of workout. I have never felt more disrespected in my life, when my fiancée approached the personal trainer to talk about it he responded "who are you? I don't have to speak to you" really that's how you speak to a female? Who's a doctor, who is a member of your facility? Please stay far away from this gym there are 20 other gyms in the area for a quarter of the price and you will actually be treated like a human, not like an animal. read more

I have been a member for 15 years . I enjoyed going there everyday and spent my money there in the spa , cafe , and private classes, but a manager talked to me like I was begging for him to join this club . Really !!!! If he saw me put my phone up to do my work again , he claimed he would terminate my membership . Really !!! You can't even stop your staffs using the phone while they were working or pay more attentions on those nasty member who watching their game in a spa, trashing the gym . I love how he picked and chose to treat the members differently there . Honestly I tried not to be negative but it was happening again and again . There were so many to act or say to your customers but I bet they didn't care no shit anymore!!!! I've been a paying customer for 3+ years here. The new spin bikes finally arrived, thank you. The issue is that now the admin staff has decided to lock all doors to spin rooms until the instructor arrives. The issue is that sometimes the instructors arrive at :5:59-6:05 for a 6:00 class, hence, we start land and end late. As a professional, I am on a strict schedule. This mishap in planning on behalf of lifetime athletic and their staff is costing me time and costing me money. I'm on the verge of leaving this gym over such issues. Apparently I'm not alone. Bad experience in this club I've been in a few lifetime gyms, so this one is the worst one. It was a nice facility but it's getting everything too old, especially old staff and stupid management. Too bad there is NO good gym in Boca area anymore. This one keep falling apart, dirty floor and café tables are never clean. If you are looking for an upgrade from your current gym, this is where to go! Lifetime may be a little pricier then the others, but its worth it. They earn your membership with good service, cleanliness and all the amenities you could need. Also, if you play basketball, come by weekday mornings at 7am for a good run! read more

My membership was terminated for attempting to get management attention for dirty facility. Their spa and equipment are extremely dirty. Mold build up in jacuzzi and steam room. I love Lifetime in Boca Raton! The classes are always so motivating, and the coaches are truly the best -- they bring such great energy every time. The kid care is amazing too!
