WARNING!!! BUYER BEWARE!!! Lifescaping Fence will cost you more money than expected. Won't communicate with you. Make promises they won't keep. And their work is definitely subpar (see photos). The everyday homeowner should steer clear as they do not respect or prioritize your "small" job. My experience: They no call no showed on the first day of a 4 day, 4 neighbors, $12,000 ($6400ish mine) fence project, a Monday. Which I confirmed was a go with their office the preceding Friday. I had taken the day off work because they recommended in the contract being home for the start of the project. Next day, Tuesday, by 8am they had ruptured our gas line, which per our contact they were supposed to have marked by the gas company and didn't. We had to evacuate our home (3 people, 3 cats and 2 dogs) and we all had to call off work because we work from home. Gas company wrecked our sprinkler system fixing their mess up. Lifescaping said it's not their problem. Wednesday they didn't come out because they had to wait for utilities to be marked. I was promised by the Lifescaping management they would send 3-4 crews the scheduled last day of the project, Thursday, and complete it in one day to make up for the issues. One crew of two people showed up to dismantle, remove and rebuild 200+ft of fence and two gates. When I called to ask about the situation I was informed "you get what you get." Needless to say they had to come back on Friday to complete the job. Then it took over a month to speak with someone about the issues with the install. There are huge gaps, bowed boards, and whatever it was they did to the gutter drain?!? Then I had to hear about how much money the company lost on our job because of the gas line cost and fines. Like it was our fault! I am personally out two days of work leave ($800+), sprinkler repair, ($75) and money for our gardener ($50) who was scheduled for Friday (and we didn't know we'd need to cancel until Thursday so we still had to pay.) we were given $300 off and 15 loose boards so we can "fix" the issues if they really bother us. read more

I would like to speak to the GM or Business Manager "Brandon D" about the new fence installation 4- 2023 as we have had no customer service return calls about fixing the poor quality of material of the kick borders and redwood fence. The kick boards are brown, blue, green and gray. The crew tried to wash the gray off the kick boards with our water hose but it did not come off. It looks like cement bags where left on these kick boards. Some of the other kick boards have blue and green sap bleeding from brown boards. It looks terrible. The redwood fence has black spots on some do not match any colors with the brown, blue, green and gray kick boards. On April 22nd we were on their schedule to have our fence replaced on June 14th! Then it got postponed until June 22nd tomorrow. Just got a call from them 5:30pm the day before that they need to postpone again and couldn't provide a reschedule date "they'll call us when they know" . If I provided this type of customer service at my work I would be out of a job. I rent so have no control over who gets the work. Stay tuned I'll provide updates on this company. We'll if they ever show up. Update! Just got a VM that they will call me at the end of the week with a new date. Stay tuned! Update! They showed up Thursday with the wrong contract and had to have the straighten that out. They started working and said they would be done in two days! There is only two of them I don't even do fences and knew that wasn't doable. So fast forward to right now 5:15pm on a Friday and 2/3 of the fence is finished. The worker said he had to start another job tomorrow and would come back in the afternoon to finish I DON'T BELIEVE HIM! Oh and it would only be him he has nobody to help him tomorrow. Stay tuned for another update! Final Update: The one worker did return yesterday and finished the job. The fence turned out really good and he did a good job of cleaning up. In the end this worker who spoke very little English did a better job at everything including communication than anyone else at this company. I encouraged him to start his own fencing company and leave this one. Would I ever recommend this company? Hell No! I think it's Brandon that's is the owner or who responds to these posts. They only did half the job! My project was supposed to take place in August in conjunction with my back neighbors', but they called me last Tuesday at 5:05pm and left a voicemail saying their crews would show up tomorrow between 8-10am, and to call back if that was a problem. I called back at 5:10pm and they were closed, I had to leave a voicemail. At 7:15 the next morning a crew showed up, ringing the doorbell repeatedly, banging on the door, and repeatedly calling my cell phone - waking the entire house including my toddler. I told them to go ahead with it since they were already there. When I got a call from the office at 8:30am she said she'd thought she could catch my voicemail in the morning before the crew arrived. The crew installed some fence on one side of my yard, which was 50% of the contract. The fence/gate looks okay but they played very loud music during installation and then left trash behind, ripped up grass, moved unrelated items around my yard (from 50 feet away), and left my garage door open when they mysteriously disappeared. They didn't check in with me to get any sort of signature or approval, just silently left. Without doing the old fence removal on the other side of the yard, a task clearly spelled out in our contract. I called multiple times a day starting Wednesday afternoon (so Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) and got a runaround every time saying they couldn't get in touch with the one guy who would know anything about it. Meanwhile, first thing Thursday morning they charged my credit card for the full amount of an INCOMPLETE CONTRACT. I'm disputing that charge with my card company. It's 11am on Monday and they currently have an old after-hours message recording on their phone, so they're completely unable to be reached. Definitely avoid this company at all costs!! UPDATE 7/26/21 Despite the comment below, the company has not contacted me either via Yelp or email or phone about this. They did send a crew to silently remove the fence last week (left a mess, again; didn't let me know they were there or leaving), but I've gotten no other response. I am sorry to say that I did not check their yelp reviews before hiring this company and referring them to 3 other friends.. Me and my 2 next door neighbors hired this company to replace the fences between all our houses. They were very professional and gave us a timeline to get the job done and even though they were more expensive then the competition we decided to hire them for the professionalism with them. They did a good job on the install last year but with the storm we had a few months ago the entrance gates came loose. We called them and they said it was a few months out of warranty and would have to charge us. We advised them that they did not use proper fasteners to the stucco on the homes but used nails instead of screws and mollys. I have left them a few messages without a return call yet and hoping they get back to me immediately before we escalate this situation. Don't bother, this company is a nightmare to work with! From the start, communication has been poor from the estimate to install and beyond that a year later with a poorly built fence trying to get repairs done, repeated mistakes that have been a waste a time and inconvenient. We wanted top of the line fence for the top of our property with piano key lattice, two gates and board on board but the estimator never captured the lattice we wanted to add so instead we were left with a cheap looking. poorly built fence with two gates that have both failed and aren't even framed with the same board on board look that we were expecting. We also had them build a good neighbor fence, our neighbors called and paid their half directly to the company and even met with the estimator to ask questions, yet on installation day, for some reason the good neighbor fence was not on the contract. Also there was a clear spray painted line that the utility crew marked before installation. The crew actually built the fence on this line which also changed the property line. When we pointed it out, they lied and tried to tell their project manager that I had instructed the crew to build the fence on that line. Which was not true. I was home when the utility company came out to mark the line and I knew what it meant, why would I have them build the fence on this line when it could jeopardize busting an important utility pipe and why would I want to lose square footage to my property. When the dust settled, it was clear they lied because in order to have a fence built and change the property line, you have to have it in writing which they did not have so they had to rebuild the entire fence. But it took both myself and my neighbor writing emails, calling and sending photos. In the end, they did rebuild and correct it but it left ugly posts that were cut uneven sticking up from the ground and also some of the base boards were build so high up that we have had to line the bottom of our fence with borders and brick in order to keep our dog from crawling under and escaping onto the very busy and dangerous avenue running through town. Such a nightmare! I pointed this out to the crew before they left and they told me they would add some "rippers" but after they did a few, they left without telling me because it hit their quitting time. I found out later that they should have gotten a final sign off for the work, but that did not happen. If there is a signature on any paperwork, it was not mine or my neighbors! Last time I asked for a repair for our top front gate because the gate would not close without slamming and boards were loose as a result, it took over 2 months, several emails with photos, text messages, follow up phone calls and finally as a result of incorrect information, the crew showed up at 9am instead of the 11-2 window they left on my voicemail and left because nobody was home, then it took another 3 weeks to get a new date, which only happened because I called and sent several text messages. Finally repair day comes, the crew said they installed a new latching system but what they did was remove parts which left me unable to lock the gate with a paddlock. Then before they left I pointed out some loose screws on the gate and instead of screwing them back in, the guy removed the screws and told me I didn't need them. I informed the project manager Luciano know what happened and he responded by telling me they were 3-4 weeks out from being able to schedule another repair appointment. It took a week of trying to reach him after I notified him until I received a response. Then I waited 4 weeks since I first contacted him and 3 weeks from his response and he responded by telling me they were coming out on Friday but didn't provide a time. Finally after following up again, he mentioned 8-9am so I made arrangements with my work schedule to be available and by 10am, I was still waiting so I contacted Luciano once again and he sent me a phone number. He actually expected me to contact his crew...this is supposed to be his crew to manage. He then sent me a text telling me they were on their way but an hour later, I was still waiting. At 11am, I received a phone call from the crew asking me for my address because the paperwork they were given had a wrong address and they were in a different town. After I provided the correct address, I waited another hour before the crew finally arrived. At this point in time, I was late for work and had to call in sick. Please save yourself a nightmare experience and select a different fence company, I guarantee working with anyone else will provide better quality product, installation crew that understand NOT to build a fence on the utility line spray painted line and an estimator who will get the contract right and a project manager that actually cares about honoring the work guarantee and will have good communication skills. We had our fence fall in the last storm windy weather. So I was looking into Fence Companies and got a few bids on replacing our fence. This company was the best bid so we chose them thinking the fence would be done right away then the shortage on wood so they had set up a date with us and then had to reschedule as they still had no wood! We weren't very happy about that one we wanted our fence done we had waited long enough! We went with our neighbors and did the good neighbor fence so they paid half for the fence replacement. The men showed up and asked us what kind of fence we wanted didn't they know? So we told them like the fence that was another neighbors. They also didn't wear there masks the whole time. At least one guy didn't wear his as I found one on the ground after they left. So there was 2 men that put up the fence in ONE DAY! The project Manager had told us it was going to take two days ! So the men started working on the fence by digging holes for the posts which were steel poles wrapped with wood and we had kick boards and redwood boards. There was also NO COMMUNICATION with the pmt and we assumed that the project manager would come by and inspect the work and have your workers clean up there mess!!! They smoked outside our bedroom windows which we had open in the morning cause it was nice outside. They left a rotten board propped up on the front yard fence they left trash on the ground and a cloth face covering and wood chips!! They should have been made to return and clean up after themselves!!! Not very professional!! The neighbors are not happy either the way the fence was built it's not 6 feet on there side! They also assumed that the project manager would be by so that we could talk to them about the size of the fence. Again we are not happy customers and now we have to pick up the trash when we didn't expect to have to clean up after the company!!! I think that's very unprofessional I even sent the project manager Gabriel about the trash and he said he would let the office know. They should have been made to return to clean up after themselves !! I also didn't appreciate the smoking and leaving cigarette butts on my dry grass!! I am VERY disappointed in your company and won't be using them in the future. No communication and not very professional! The project Leader Gabriel needs more communication with his workers. And with the people getting their fences done. We had no idea where to send the pmt and we assumed that Gabriel would come by and inspect the work before getting pmt and my neighbors wanted to talk to him and he never returned there calls. And it also took forever for us to get the job done. I get that there is a wood shortage, but we had been looking forward to getting that fence done! We had multiple issues with out fence installation including a section that starting leaning within 1 month of installation and a large gap between where the fence stops and the ground starts that allowed for our full sized black labrador to get out. We called multiple times and could not reach anyone or get a call back. Once we finally connected with someone from the customer service/repairs department as well as a supervisor they were less than helpful and would not take responsibility for the work. At the time of my review there are 137 one star reviews and my experience is exactly in line with the complaints they have received from other customers. Do NOT pick this company. The crew love hit and run. The first time, both my neighbor and me had told them to match the height of existing fence post before they started working, but they still made an ugly slope. After my I pointed out the issue, the crew said they're done for the day and ran away. The second time I PAID them to repair the ugly slope along with several cracked boards. I was pointing out the place where I need the fix, the crew was so impatient that he turned around and left in the middle of my sentence. Before they completed the work, I told them I was checking if everything was done correct and they ran away again before I could tell them some issues still exist. It took 3 month for them to come for the initial fencing project and another 3 month for the repair. In between, they changed the schedule at least 3 times at very last minutes. It was so frustrated to communicate with this company. They won't listen to your requirements and won't give you time to verify their work. Then they rescheduled, and again never called when the day of came around and called them to ask what was happening. They claimed they had another job, well why schedule the same day? Now they've never rescheduled nor answered our call. Don't use this company. Update: Finally got the work done, but the quality is not good. Multiple boards are not attached. They literally put nails through that do not even go through the wood piece behind it. Or no nails at all in another piece. Many boards have a bowing happening already. The gate latch fell off after first use, and they have yet to contact us back to come fix it all. Mind you, have called at least 10 times to speak to someone. Either they answer and say they are getting people scheduled and will call back or they don't answer at all. Have left messages and nothing. They have the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with. Spend your money elsewhere. Our 21 year old redwood fence was in need of replacing. My neighbor used Lifescaping on her other property line fence two years ago. They did good work so we split the cost. The sales rep Curt was punctual and informative. They let us know if they may need to change the schedule due to the rain. Luckily the weather held out and no need to change the schedule, Two workers worked for 2 1/2 days and did an excellent job. We didn't have to pay any money until the fence was done. Lifescaping did two fences for me through Home Depot. Brett came out and did my quote. Super nIce guy and no pressure. After 7 quotes theirs was the best. I called to accept and did the contacts over email. Once I paid at Home Depot they got me on their schedule. Took about 6-7 weeks. Today they built me a 6ft redwood picture frame fence and a white picket vinyl front yard fence. I am very happy. Both look amazing. The crew was awesome!! They cleaned up after themselves and took all of the old fence and concrete with them! So happy I chose them. read more

We hired Lifescaping through Home Depot. They built a nice fence, and helped with the problems that arose along the way. Couple things to be careful with when working, since they are very affordable: 1- Be very clear with everything you want both with the estimator and the actual contractor team doing the job. The communication within the company is not great apparently. 2- They sometimes cancel appointments last minute, be ready for that 3- Check everything very well before they leave (build quality, your water lines/sprinkler lines for cracks, etc) If you're on top of the work being done on your property, they are the right people. read more

We had an excellent experience with Lifescaping from start to finish. There are a lot of negative reviews on this Yelp page, which is pretty shocking to me because we experienced exceptional customer service with Lifescaping. We replaced a fence in our backyard. We had our initial consultation, and the fence was installed 2 weeks later. We worked with Ronnie Cabrera-McGee, who was friendly, professional, and very patient with me. I had a lot of thoughts and questions during the planning phase of the fence project, and Ronnie always answered my calls and returned my emails promptly. We even had a change order that we needed to make after we signed the final agreement, and Ronnie made the process easy and seamless. The day the fence was installed, the workers were confused by the part of contract and said that there were problems with the fence height and the type of gate to install. I called Ronnie, and he immediately got in touch with the workers and made everything right according to the contract. The fence was installed exactly as planned. There was one issue with the gate and the latch that wasn't able to be installed correctly on the installation date. The workers came back and worked on the gate three separate times to make it right. Luciano and Tumani at Lifescaping Operations were incredibly helpful at organizing the follow up dates and making sure the project was completed correctly until the very end. I would definitely recommend Lifescaping for anyone looking to install a new fence, and I would highly recommend working with Ronnie, Tumani, and Luciano. A truly horrible company. I had their service at the end of 2020. It was a very very terrifiying experience. One of the staff yelled at me and showed his frustration by smashed things on the ground with big sound. I was horrified by his noise and rudeness. My emotion was abused. The crew did not finish the work and I had to chase them (they were driving away) to find out what the status was. The mass they made on my lawn was like what other reviewers said. Poor quality work. The gate fell off. I had to called the office several times to get them address the issues. Finally, they sent two good guys to take care of the work. I appreciated their professionalism. I withdrew my thought to write a review about this company. A couple of weeks ago, the hindge at the bottom of the gate fell off! I couldn't believe, even did not last for 2 years. I called the company since I knew the material has a lifetime warranty. The lady said someone will reach me to mail me a new hinge. A week passed by no one reach me. I called back. This time, they said the repair department will help me to decide what materials needed for repair and asked me to send an email with pictures. I did. No response. A week later, I called again. This time, the lady told me I had to speak to the repair department. And no one there so she suggested me leave a message. No one responded my message. I called again and insisted waiting on line since the repair department was too busy. Finally I was able to talk to someone at the reapir department. She told me the hinge is not part of gate material so not in the warranty. I don't know why it can be not. She then told me to repair this will cost $250. I asked how much the cost was when they installed the gate. The repair cost is 20% of the cost I paid them to install the gate! I just could not believe they dare to ask me this price for such a bad quality work they did. At the speed, if I use their repair service, the total repair cost will be higher than the original price in a few years. I might just get a new installation from the other company. If you don't believe how bad this company is even after reading all the bad reviews and still think you will be lucky to get a good service unlike those reviewers, I want to wake you up, I was one of those people. Well after a few years and dealing with neighbors we finally got the last side of our fence re did. I got bids from half a dozen companies, looking for the best price. Lumber prices have fluctuated and went up 2 times before my official install. Part of the delay is on me. The gentleman who bid my project was knowledgeable, on time and seemed into the work I wanted done. His downside was that he was not available to answer questions and concerns. That should be improved as he was the face of the company to date. Scheduling was a nightmare to be honest. Communication could and should be improved. Joanna did what she could but didn't have the power to make actual decisions. She was polite even when she could tell I was pissed off, that takes talent she should get a raise. As a homeowner spending a few thousand dollars, I expect communication on instal date, time frame, and anything else that pertains to the job at hand. The gentleman that did the work did a fine job. The fence install went as it should. They did kick over the old fence into some existing bushes. That I wasn't very happy about it. Would have taken a few extra minutes to not do that. The RV gate looks great. The huge disappointment was that the opening is 14 inches narrower than plans stated. It is still bigger than a trailer. Just will be tight. I emailed back and they did take off 250 which is nice, I prob should have held them more responsible for this but with the schedule issue I was not able to be there for gate install. All in all they did a solid job. The work done was solid and will last for a while. The logistic portion of this company needs to be improved as I was very pissed off about it. read more

(Updated Review) Lifescaping exceeded my expectations. My fence is absolutely beautiful! It is a night and day comparison. Adrian's staff coordinated the shared fence costs between my neighbor and I so that it was fair and equitable. A crew of 6 very hardworking guys showed up to remove and replace the fencing for the two homes. It's impressive that they were able to complete all the fencing in one day. The workmanship is excellent. As Adrian suggested, my fence was extended and an fenced in area created for my garbage and recycle cans. He also recommended staining with Preservawood to help keep it looking new. My new gate is bigger and in compliance with having a pool. I have friends with longtime construction businesses who have commented on the high quality of the fence. I could not be any happier with this privacy fence and Lifescaping. I would say to anyone that after reading any negative reviews If you're the least bit hesitant (as I was initially), give them the benefit of any doubt get an estimate and don't miss out on a having beautiful fence. I did consider all of the information as well as met with them. I have absolutely no regrets. The communication was excellent prior to, during and after the fence was complete. My yard was cleared of any fencing debris and looked tidy. They really did a excellent job. Hats off to Adrian, it's a large company and he runs a tight ship. Original Post 3/16/2021 I contacted Lifescaping for a fence estimate. I received a response right away and was able to get an estimate sooner than I anticipated. I have to say that SO FAR it's been a REALLY good experience. The reason I'm sharing this information at this point is because I started to have reservations after reading negative reviews. After careful consideration and and getting clarification I have full confidence to move forward with Lifescaping. This is a well established business and I can tell that the owner is passionate about his business and employees and takes pride in his craft.  It's common knowledge that so many businesses have struggled especially over the past 12 months. It's been a year of constant pivoting after shutdowns, implementing internal and external safety measures, handling staffing shortages to name a just a few. With that said, it hasn't been business as usually for anyone. To describe businesses as having a challenging year is putting it mildly. So for me, when deciding to use this or any business it's a decision to get a balance of information because there are also so many really good reviews. The benefit of my doubt. Lifescaping is demonstrating that they are very knowledgeable, professional and responsive. Communication has been great!  For me, the added bonus was during my estimate appointment suggestions and options were offered that I had not even considered which resolved concerns that I had not even expressed. I think I expected a "yes we can replace your fence and here's the cost". But it was much more professional and my estimator (Adrian, who I later realized is the business President) patiently explained without any pressure, just providing me with options. I've signed a contact that details exactly what we discussed and already have an installation date scheduled. I'll  provide an updated review and adjust the score if it's necessary once my fence is complete. I'm very optimistic and also excited about my new fence. read more

Five stars for our beautiful new picture frame fence from Lifescaping. The crew worked in rain, hail, and even snow to get the project done. Some advice: For a fencing project, go with the big guys. They get their wood from the mill and it's a much better grade than Home Depot or Berco. They have done a million fences and are true professionals. They have the crews to get you on the schedule faster than any other company. They are cheaper than the rest due to their high volume, by far. I needed 180 linear feet of fencing replaced at my home. I had Ray Borg the professional estimator from Lifescaping come out to give me a quote. He did an excellent job walking me through my options, showing me pictures and I had a full quote from him by that evening. Within 3 days, they had me on their install schedule and in 2 weeks they came to install my fence. Alex and Garrison worked very hard and did an excellent job installing our fence within 2 days. I was blown away on how organized they were and how efficiently the worked. I thought my job was going to take a week. The quality of workmanship, the quality of redwood fencing and the very reasonable pricing would be very hard to duplicate. I was so impressed by this company! Leigh came to my property to give me a quote and answered all of my questions. We received a call the day before our appointment letting us know when the installation would begin, and Marcos and Beto arrived right on time. They did a fantastic job installing a wrought iron fence on our property, which has a pretty steep slope. They were incredibly nice and professional, and they were very accommodating to a couple of last minute changes we wanted to make to the original plan. It turned out better than I could've hoped. You might wonder like I did, why Lifescaping have so many bad reviews? Are they all reall? Do people like to falsely complain? Well, I found out the hard way that they are true. I will not bore you with all the details since experience may vary, and hopefully you will have better experience, however, I definitely didn't. Yes, they definitely price competitive, and have one of the best prices out there, but be warned.......whatever amount you will save by choosing them, you will pay back and sum with your time, frustration, and aggravation!!! They rarely return a call back when you have a question, confirmation, or a problem. Hell....they don't even call back when you simply want to pay them and get this over with. They finished the project close to 2.5 months after starting the project. They will not even entertain the notion of a discount for the delay, and aggrevation they will cause you, or your neighbors. Based on all the reviews, there is a high chance it will happen to you as well. Have fun! read more

We got connected with Lifescpaing through Home Depot in Natomas. We had our 55 foot leaning fence replaced with Redwood 7 feet Privacy board on board and added a vinyl fence to our front yard for the dogs to enjoy. Initial free in home estimate was very quick and completed within a couple of days, however the emailed estimate took a day or soon longer than anticipated. They were booked far out, so we had to wait 3-4 weeks for the install. Day of installations the 2 workers arrived timely and completed the job quickly. They were respectful of both our property and neighbors, cleaned up and informed us how to maintain both fences. I will be using them again if we ever need work done. Our neighbors were also pleased and plan on using them for future projects. read more
