If you are happy and you know it, raise a fork! This place keeps getting better and better. I'm absolutely SHOCKED and how FAST the food came out when the place was PACKED with Groups. They need to write a handbook. As, a former server who trained other servers, in my past life, Evan was just EXCEPTIONAL! Constantly coming back to the table to make sure we were okay. The order came out exactly as we ordered it. Applause! Applause.

Breakfast with friends here recently while in town one weekend. We sat outside on the morning of our visit. Our server was kind and friendly. The coffee was good and was refilled often. They also have pineapple juice on the menu, and it was a great addition. The Choose the three scramble, with mushroom, cilantro and sausage with potatoes and rye toast. My scramble was pretty good, freshly prepared and a generous portion loaded with mushroom and sausage and a good amount of cilantro really helped push the flavor on this breakfast. The potatoes were nicely grilled and crispy, a good touch. The rye toast also as expected, and it met my needs that morning. All in all a good choice for breakfast, the place is small and busy most days. They take reservations as well, and they are necessary on busy days and weekends. 4 Stars definitely worth a visit 01097

If you come here, you have to get a seat by the window. Nothing like drinking a mimosa while looking out the window enjoying the Downtown Annapolis city life. I love Annapolis. Make sure you make a reservation because it gets crowded.

Chocolate chip pancakes were only $2, omelette tasted perfect. Poached eggs were good.

Food and service were excellent. We went back multiple times during our stay in town. Prices were good and the employees were awesome. Bring your appetite the plates were so filling. Will be back again.

Ordered: - Crab cake Benedict (5/5): A bit heavy for breakfast but perfect for brunch! My girlfriend loves brunch dishes and thinks the Benedict here was really tasty. Crab cakes were perfectly balanced with their nicely made hollandaise sauce and the English muffins soaked it all up well. Wish there were sides other than potatoes which added to the heaviness but otherwise enjoyed the dish. - French toast (3/5): The French toast wasn't very remarkable, but my girlfriend was very into it. - Crab dip (3.5/5): Enjoyed this as our first ever crab dip, but we've had more crab dips since then so in retrospect it was just ok. The chips also tasted a little stale. Overall (4/5): All in all, a pleasant experience. We had a reservation so seating was quick, and service was also great. As someone that's not that big into brunch the food here wasn't too heavy for my liking, which is a plus one in my book.

Light House Bistro is not only there doing good work for the people by giving folks who need some support a great opportunity to learn the restaurant industry while making money, they're also making really great food. I've been there on my own for breakfast and sat at the counter, I've been there with one friend to catch up over a meal, and I've been there with groups of friends to eat and during local events going down West St. It's always casual but nice, the food doesn't disappoint, and the service is not only good but actually went above and beyond for is one important time when another customer had been excessively rude to our party. This is a great little spot to grab a meal.

    Funnel Cake Waffles
    Rae M.

Three words for you...Funnel Cake Waffles! Yes, they taste as good as they sound! (Insert drooling emoji) We made reservations for a Sunday Brunch at Light House Bistro. Are reservations required, no, but I strongly suggest it. Located down the street from that other popular breakfast/brunch restaurant in Annapolis, LHB is packing them in with everything from crab cake Benedict's and avocado toast to FUNNEL CAKE WAFFLES and shrimp and grits. I ordered the funnel cake waffles, a side of bacon and a peach Bellini. All was delicious. The waffle was crisp and literally taste just like a funnel cake. It of course came with syrup and strawberry jam, but they're so good, you don't need any additional accoutrements. The service provided was warm and hospitable. Everyone we encountered were smiling and a pleasure to be around. Prior to visiting, I read some reviews and everyone said how they loved this restaurants mission, but no one ever said what it was. I did a little digging and read up about this restaurant and their mission and it made me love it even more! According to their website, "The Light House Bistro gives people with employment barriers the opportunity to learn while developing a resume and earning a living wage." So much more goes with this mission, take a look for yourself. Street parking is available, as well as a garage located down the street. Indoor and a few outside tables are available. The atmosphere was chatty and loud, but not overbearing. Just a great place to get an excellent quality meal and beverage. If they keep serving up those funnel cake waffles, I WILL ABSOLUTELY BE BACK!

Good food, large portions, including Eggs Benny, lots of Béarnaise, but it was not sharp, and the Crab Cake, made of just lump crab, Sandwich. A full bar, but extremely limited wine list. We had a reservation, and were kept waiting so long our reservation was canceled; the hostess did not manage walk-ins and reservations well. Service at the bar was good, in spite of the full house. The ambiance is casual.

It was just as great as the first time that I visited. My hubby loves pancakes, so I brought him here, and he loved it. I love any situation where I'm getting good food and helping to support a great cause.

2 egg scramble w/ bacon + vanilla pancake @ Lighthouse Bistro
    Katrina G.

Our server Alex was a delight. Me and my girl came in very hungry and ready for a good (late) breakfast. I had been once before and had fond memories of the vanilla pancakes. They are so yummy and massive!! Split those with Lynne S. and rounded out my meal with the 2 egg scramble and bacon. We also split the grits with cheddar and bacon special. Well seasoned and worth the extra carbs and calories. The place is popular on the weekends so reservations are suggested. And I've got to come here more often.

Crab cake eggs Benedict with fried green tomatoes--so flavorful!

I love this place's mission statement so much that I would find an excuse to come here any time I'm in Annapolis. A socially responsible restaurant? Sign me up. No matter how good the intentions may be, if the food was lousy it would all have been moot. Thankfully, the food is mostly excellent. We had the house salad, crab cake eggs Benedict, crab dip, and bread pudding. The salad and eggs Benedict were delicious. The crab dip was bland unfortunately and the bread pudding was mealy--had to send it back. Nevertheless, the highs outweigh the lows and this place is well worth a visit!

Omelet with breakfast potatoes and toast

The positives: The coffee was some of the best restaurant coffee we had. Also, we really appreciated that the waiter double checked with the kitchen about the ingredients in a dish and then told us. That info led to us changing our choice. The location is in a quaint area. The not so positive: The food itself was just "meh". Nothing was well-seasoned. The breakfast potatoes had no crisp and the onions were barely cooked. The omelet had only a bit of salt. I added the salt and pepper you see in the picture. The chicken and waffles - waffle was fluffy and tasted pretty standard. The fried chicken pieces were boneless, dry chunks of tastelessness. Also, the waiter did not return our credit card. When we pointed that out, he searched around and a coworker gave it to him. Now we will have to check for fraudulent charges since we don't know where and how it was misplaced.

Ask the Community - Light House Bistro

Are there "plain ol' " buttermilk pancakes for my picky grandson?

    Absolutely! and Waffles

Is the outdoor seating area heated?

Not yet. But we are looking into installing heaters for next spring.

    Can I bring my dog?

If it's a service dog they can come sit inside if it's a regular dog then there are outside tables as well with a doggy bowl for water as well if you ask.

    Where do we park?

There are a few slots for parking behind the restaurant, but more on the street in front of the Bistro. If that fails, try the side streets or a nearby parking garage.

They are definitely lighter on the sauce, so if that's your preference these are perfect. Personally, I like my wings a little saucier, so I would probably ask for extra sauce next time. The chicken itself was fried perfectly and the portion size was pretty solid. For my main, I got the buffalo chicken wrap with no buffalo sauce and it was amazing. The lettuce, guac, and pico all tasted fresh and paired really nicely with the breaded chicken in the wrap. My only complaint with it is they go pretty light on the guac and pico, so I wish there was a bit more of both. The pricing overall was fair too and didn't feel over the top for the quality and portions. The fries that came with the wrap deserve their own mention because they were phenomenal. Crispy golden brown on the outside with a soft, fluffy inside. Honestly, I'd come back just for the fries alone. I requested outdoor seating when making the reservation and they have a really nice outdoor section with a great atmosphere and view. They did a good job with the space they had, but the tables are pretty close together, so you can hear basically every conversation around you. The chairs were also a bit smaller and not the most comfortable for longer seating. Service was great all around. Our server was very polite and even helped my very undecided sister choose her meal. Everyone was friendly and it definitely feels like a nice place to bring friends or family. My only real complaint, and honestly this applies to a lot of places nearby, is the parking. It was pretty rough. Other than that, definitely a place I'd come back to.

I had a mixed experience overall…read more I ordered the chicken and waffles. The fried chicken had good seasoning and flavor, which I did enjoy. However, the chicken was breast meat and sliced thin, which made it come across as dry. I did tell the server I liked it and didn't go into much detail since she seemed very busy and I didn't want to add stress in the moment. Still, it's not something I would personally order again. The waffle situation was more frustrating. I initially received cornmeal waffles, but I had told my server ahead of time that I strongly avoid cornmeal. She said she would substitute them, so I was surprised when the plate came out with the original cornmeal waffles. I didn't realize at first and ended up taking a bite before noticing. I let the server know and she had the kitchen remake it. The replacement Belgian waffles were overcooked and dense, so they didn't really improve the experience. The butter though was genuinely delicious, just very rich and more of a holiday-style flavor than something I'd personally crave in warmer weather. I also had a basic cup of coffee made with Rise Up Coffee Roasters, which was $4.50. That felt overpriced for what it was. I could have walked right across the street and had a specialty coffee from the source for very little extra cost, which honestly would have been the better choice. Overall, the experience had some clear issues, especially with the waffle mix-up and consistency, but it wasn't completely disappointing. I just don't think I would personally order the same meal again.

I made a takeout order and got the crab cake omelette (w/ a biscuit) $18.29, legendary scone: Blueberry $3, single blueberry pancake $2.89, single maple bacon pancake $2.89, and single cinnamon roll pancake $2.89. - The crab cake omelet was my 2nd favorite as they surprisingly didn't skimp on the crab additions. The biscuit was just alright, but luckily it's best once combined with omlette to make a good sandwich. - The blueberry scone was probably my favorite, as it was pretty good. It was moist, fresh, and well done. - The trifecta of pancakes ranged from just okay to decent, and my ranking would go blueberry, maple bacon, and then cinnamon roll. For some odd reason, the texture of the cinnamon roll pancake was notably inferior to the other 2. Overall, my experience was quite a good one due to the scone and crab omelet delivering the most. -- #issa.cheatday
