This is such a lovely, family owned coffee shop! It's in a wonderful location with beautiful views of the mountains and Sparks Marina. They have a lot of seating outdoors to enjoy during the nice weather. Inside is a bit smaller, but definitely on the cozy side. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming as well as excellent at making suggestions. I usually opt for their hot chai or a kombucha (which usually is rotating in flavors). They have a small bakery selection (including gluten-free options) and so far everything I have tried has been delicious! My current favorites are the vanilla lavender scone and the cherry chocolate almond scone - highly recommend! They aren't too sweet and aren't dry at all. read more

I'm very picky with my chai (I HATE premade chai) although I'm unsure if they use premade chai or if they make their own, this chai was delicious. I am a Realtor, so having a central location with wifi where I can meet with clients and business partners is a must. Lighthouse at the Marina is the perfect spot. In fact, I'm here at least once or twice a week - it's like my second office. Even when it is busy, you will always get service with a smile. The seasonal drink options can't be beat and there is a variety of baked goods that include plenty of individually wrapped gluten free (celiac safe) options. Bonus, the owners are the nicest people ever and it's not uncommon for Todd, Melanie or Hannah to greet you at the counter in the morning with a huge smile and ready to recommend something awesome. While there is plenty of seating, the space is small and can become a bit noisy. Weather permitting, there are a ton of tables outside where you can enjoy the beauty of the marina and a killer view of the mountains and sunsets. read more

Lighthouse Coffee is a great spot for people to enjoy their coffee or breakfast in front of a beautiful lake view. They have indoor and outdoor seating which is very accommodating, especially if you are bringing your pets to walk around the lake. It was a little tricky trying to find the cafe because the cafe is not seen where the parking lot is located; you have to go around to the other side of the building (on the lake side) to find the cafe. Service (10/10): - It was great! The staff was very kind and I have no complaints :) - My drinks and food came out quickly and I did not have to wait very long to receive my order. Drink (7/10): - Matcha Latte: The matcha was not very present in the drink. Compared to other matcha drinks that I have tried, this one seemed to have a more milky flavor. I would say that if you like more matcha flavor in your drink, ask for more matcha. Food (8/10): - Breakfast Sandwich: It tasted like a typical breakfast sandwich. I don't remember if there was sausage or ham, but there was cheese, egg, and sausage/ham. I liked that this came toasted and was given in a small togo box rather than a bag. I usually stop by for a coffee every now and then when I walk with my mom but today was an unpleasant encounter. Usually we are attended by some amazing ladies. Today my husband and I came in and were attended by a young man and an older lady. We ordered and everything was fine. The guy was very rude towards my husband when handing out the drinks he first asked my husband rudely "can you move since you're just on your phone" which could've been worded differently then he handed the second drink rudely it even spilled. At the last my husband asked him if there was an issue and he ignored him . My husband also noticed how the guy when to tell the other lady about the situation but in a gossiping way. Lighthouse has been a staple in my coffee rotation for years, granted not as much recently because the south reno store closed, but I think about it all the time. I relish any chance I get to visit and patronize them though. There are always delicious pastries, the staff is so friendly, and it's just a nice place to be. We were on a weekend getaway in Reno/Sparks and found this place on Yelp while we were looking for a spot to get our coffee fix. I love walking into a coffee shop and smelling the coffee aroma. I got an iced white mocha with oat milk and it was delicious. The staff here are friendly and fast, and the coffee shop has a cool ambiance. There's plenty of seating (indoors and outdoors). Lighthouse Coffee is so cute! My husband and I were getting some sunshine and walking around the marina today. On our second lap, we decided to stop into Lighthouse Coffee, and I'm glad we did. We both had an iced white mocha, and we shared a blueberry muffin top. The girls who were working were friendly, quick, and efficient. They let us know those muffin tops had just been freshly baked. We met the sweetest lady in line and sold her on a muffin top, too! Inside is very clean and organized. They had a cute tip jar set. One of my last days in town and I decided to stop into a new coffee shop, risky.... but the reward was well worth it!! Got the signature Carmilla with oat milk and KNOCK MY SOCKS OFF. This could possibly be the best latte I've ever had. Decadent Carmel, vanilla, and just enough espresso for the perfect mix. Got a jalapeño and cheddar bagel with cream cheese, too.... may be the beat bagel I've ever had. Yummmmm. I wish I were in town longer. This place has. We stopped in for a quick coffee and nosh before running errands on a Sunday morning. We were greeted upon entering by the barista behind the counter. Located on Sparks Marina, this storefront boasts views as satisfying as its coffee. We sat and quietly observed the ripples of water and passersby as we sipped our lattes. We ordered the Pumpkin Spice latte and a Butter Pecan latte. The PSL had a hint of spice but was not the usual string pumpkin pie flavor I usually experience with this drink. The Butter Pecan latte was sweet, even for my taste. If you enjoy sweet coffee drinks, give this one a go! While in line we couldn't help but notice some delicious looking pastries, artfully displayed. We chose a very large cinnamon roll to share. The flavor was good, but the pastry was unfortunately very dry and perhaps a day or two old. We may try this treat again in a day when they are fresh and warm. read more

Love at first sip. This location is very beautiful. As we arrived found out there was a drive-thru! We chose that due to not wanting to get out in the cold. The kind gal at the counter was so sweet and got me something different. Much better! I don't recommend the cranberry but the pumpkin spice, and butterscotch latte was so good! I loved the view, sitting on the tables with view of the water was very satisfying. However the coffee i got which was the Sea Salted Latte and honestly it was very disappointing. It tastes bitter and I didn't taste any of the caramel. Maybe it's just the drink but I'll come back to try other parts of the menu. We also got the pumpkin muffin and it was good on the outside but it was undercooked when we got the middle and it was mushy, still good but the texture was off putting. Not the best place to study due to the small tables but definitely a good spot to sit down and relax with friends and family over some coffee. I'm not usually this far North in Sparks but I happen to be in the neighborhood was in the mood of some good coffee and being that local spots are my preferred choice for coffee, I stopped into Lighthouse Coffee Shop. I ordered a 16oz vanilla latte. I like my lattes slightly less sweet than how the big chain usually serves it, so I asked the cashier about their vanilla and to my delight she explained that their vanilla is organic and homemade and is not as sweet as the vanilla syrups commonly used in coffee shops. And she was right! My coffee to flavor ratio was right on. The espresso was a bit on the lighter side and really good. Lighthouse Coffee has a few locations around our region. But for me, THIS is the one franchise you should check out. Their menu covers all the bases. Espresso drinks galore, teas, smoothies, and various bottled beverages in the fridge case. Beer, cider and wine are available, either on tap or in cans. And as far as the coffee itself, they do brew a solid, if maybe not spectacular, cup o' joe, but I still appreciate a locally roasted bean any day. Food options abound here, too. Plenty of pastries and cookies, some packaged snacks, and a small menu of things like hot sandwiches, quiche, and bagels. All the ones I tried being quite good. Prices for everything are pretty much on par with every other coffee shop in the area, with maybe a bit more for certain items. Parking is easy, with the lot behind their building and plenty of places within easy walking distance. Service here has been quite good. The staff are pretty much always chipper and prompt, even despite how busy this spot can get. And trust me, it can get insanely busy here. No doubt the byproduct of what I think is their best quality; the location. This particular café has the best view of any coffeehouse around, in my opinion. Right on the waterfront at the Sparks Marina, and along the main loop trail, it looks out over the water and back towards the mountains. Though this is a small hole-in-the-wall sized storefront, the big windows and an outdoor patio makes it one of those perfect spots to stop, sit down, and relax for a bit over a beverage. Additionally, you can easily make this your pit stop should you be out walking along the trail, or visiting the park, or shopping nearby. These factors combined are what keeps brining me back time and time again. All in all, I tip my hat to Lighthouse for nailing the ambiance for me. This place is great, sometimes. It's rarely consistent. Most of it is training and customer service issues. The issue was bad enough, today, to leave a review. The food isn't anything spectacular, but today, they were out of their bacon burrito. Which is fine, I ordered a regular burrito instead (just really basic, but to confirm: not spicy chicken and not vegan). Instead of listening to what I ordered, not only did the barista ring me up for a Maple Latte (which I didn't order); he also rang me up for a Vegan Burrito, also not what I ordered. He told me that it didn't matter because it was all the same price. Mind you, I've been here at least 50 times and I've had inconsistency with taste and service, but I've never been rang up for the wrong items. He was clearly very lazy and didn't know the kiosk system. Then proceeds to write on a cup that was for hot drinks. Not wanting him to go through the trouble of making the drink wrong, I said, "it's iced." Although, I stated this two times when placing my order. Once when placing it, secondly when he rang me up for the "Maple Latte", that I didn't order. He got quite the attitude and grabbed the iced drink cup. He then proceed to hand me some Spicy Chicken Burrito (not what I ordered) and not with the little cup of salsa that I asked for twice, at the register, upon ordering and repeating my order. When he hands me my coffee, I again, explained that I ordered the plain Breakfast Burrito since they were out of the bacon one. He argues with me, but doesn't have a leg to stand on since I already called him out about ringing up the "Vegan Burrito", which I also didn't order. He comes back with the Plain Breakfast Burrito, which had an expiration date of yesterday. I was pretty frustrated with his lack of give a fuck at this point, so, I took it, threw it in the trash, and left. The coffee that I ordered tasted nothing like it has in the past. Lack of training is really a problem here. I certainly hope someone in management reads this or maybe the owner, I have no idea. But you need to know that your staff does things like this. I doubt I'll be returning after this last experience. I've had enough with the inconsistency and chasing the high of how good it is, sometimes... The staff/customer service really needs some work. It should be a pleasure to serve customers, not a pleasure for your employees to grace us with their shitty presence and attitudes. And I'm not a complicated customer, at all. I needed to fuel up on caffeine after I had a job interview, so I stopped by at Lighthouse Coffee. It was a little hectic finding this place as there is quite a bot of construction in that area. There is a parking lot and street parking available. From what I understand is that Lighthouse recently moved a couple doors down a couple months ago to accommodate their baker. Their new location is cozy with high chairs and tables, couch and bar counter with stools. The decorations and lights make me feel safe and at home. I was welcomed by the barista. The pastries looked delicious but decided to skip the sweets and stick to caffeine. Coffee drinks can be made iced,hot or blended.I ordered a small hot Caramilla. It was delicious. My hope is that construction will be complete come summer time so that I can enjoy outdoor seating with the lake view and a cup of coffee in hand.
