Have been coming for so many years I've lost count. For both mani and pedi. Always do a great job cleaning up my battered nails and feet. Great job with applying polish. In the summer I even got nail art on my big toes - flowers - and I received numerous compliments. It's a no frills decoration establishment. For me their great job and friendliness are perfect especially at this price point. I know there are a lot of negative reviews out there but in the over ten years I've been coming here - I've always walked away a happy and beautified customer. How could anyone give this place less than 5 stars?? Yeah, it's just your regular corner nail shop. Yes, there is a giant Buddha and fake plants but I'm here to get my toes done not to stay the week-end! Em did a fantastic job on my toes. She spent more time getting my heels smooth than I've had anywhere else and I've had a lot of peddies. She gave me a calf massage and did a beautiful job on my polish. $35 for a mani pedi with a spa chair seems alright nothing special. Bring your own polish colors theirs are fairly limited. It is an ok plce and got the job done. $15 dollars for shalack gel polish seemed a little higher then my normal salon but so far so good. Make sure to tell them if you want your nails on your big toes a little longer as they took more off mine then I would have liked. So far so good though everything looks ok 3 days later. read more

This was the best manicure I have experienced on the Monterey Peninsula. Why? The care that went into the types and numbers of coats. This means I have a regular manicure that is going to last. I had the need for a really good one due to damage to one of my nails. Em took care and came up with a lasting solution for me. Nice work - I will go back to Te & Em again. read more

The only reason I gave it one star is that Yelp wont let me do no stars. The absolute WORST manicure I have ever had. I essentially paid to have my nails and cuticles look worse than they did coming in the door. The filing and shaping was rushed and incomplete. The cuticles were frayed, and the polish was extrememly messy. The instruments were not cleaned, and the woman doing my nails had dirty hands and thick, yellowing nails. It was a terrible manicure experience. How they manage to be in a prime, classy location is beyond me. Please dont waste your time or money on this place. I went in for a manicure, very cold setting No music no TV, then they call the little grandma from upstairs to come down to my nails. I was there for over an hour for a simple manicure No gel just a manicure she cut me and I was bleeding into places, I would never never ever recommend anyone go to this business to get their nails done. When I went in for a pedicure they tricked me into getting the high-end pedicure there for $35, not telling me I have no option. But the worst was getting my nails done and my cutting my cuticles bleeding wouldn't stop all they said is I'm sorry. Went in for a regular manicure. The manicurist added so much thinner to the polish that the polish wouldn't dry. Went back two hours later and they just put more clear coat on top to try and dry it. Overnight all the nails were bubbled. Went back this morning they gave me my money back, however, I don't want anyone else to have a bad experience like I did. I decided to try this place because my regular salon could not get me in. I regret that decision. I will not be returning to this place and got out as soon as I could. I needed a fill for acrylic nails and had no problem at first. I chose a light polish color and explained that I wanted white tips over that since they had a placard for white airbrush styles. When I inquired about the white airbrushing, she told me no, that she would do it by hand. (Strike #1: Customer wants airbrush, NOT manual paint) The lady that did my nails should NEVER be allowed near a power nail tool. She was erratic and pressed too hard, resulting in pain and my nailbed bruising and tearing of cuticles. She also pressed too far when using the tool under the nail, resulting in more pain. While using the file, she wrenched my wrist around and filed the tip hard, resulting in the skin tip of my pinky being FILED OFF. OUCH! She didnt shape the nails very well. They look crooked and awkward. Some of them show the results of over-zealous power tool usage and have very noticeable dips in them. (Strike #2: Be careful with that thing! A little pressure goes a long way!) Finally, on the topic of polish, she neglected to apply a base coat. The hand-done white tips are too thin. She did the white tips UNDER the coat of polish (which tainted the white tips with color, obviously. That is the reason I wanted airbrush.) The corners are not painted, even after I pointed that out and told her to be sure to paint all the way across the nail. Finally, the white is streaked across my nail where she didnt let it dry well before putting on a top coat. (Strike #3: Pay attention to what you are doing and be patient!) I dont recommend this salon. I will not return. I was far too disappointed with the careless work. read more

I had been going here regularly for a while but gave up after several negative experiences. I started doing gel nails, but gave up after the last few applications started peeling off in about a week's time. On occasion one of my toes or fingers would be pulled too hard, and I would say something or yell, "ouch" and it would only be responded to with a chuckle. I would also make an appointment and then show up, only to have to wait while the worker was apparently just beginning another service. In other words, even if you reserve a spot, if someone else walks in before your appointment time, you will have to wait for that person's service. When that happened yesterday, I decided to leave, rather than continue going along with this type of rude service. I tip very generously and am polite and respectful of these hard working women. It does not seem to matter, so I will go elsewhere. read more

I tried this place three times. The acrylics were good but I noticed that the woman DID NOT use new instruments. Unfortunately I didn't think much of it and assumed it would be ok. One week later I returned to get a nail fixed and a fill, one week later. Three weeks after I went in and had a fill with a pedicure, again no new supplies were opened. She just used whatever was in her drawer. I should have insisted she use new tools but foolishly didn't. Pedicure was decent but two weeks later my acrylics started coming off, and underneath my nails were GREEN! I mean green underneath, not from polish or anything. I filed them down and had to have them medically treated for an infection. I have never had this happen before. two months later my nails are still recovering and are still green in areas, not to mention weaker than before and in areas pulling away from the nail bed. If you go here please...INSIST on new sterile tools otherwise say bye bye to your nails. read more

I've been here twice and the second time I noticed my technician used the same utensils on me and another customer without sanitizing. Have had them do a pedicure before and it was fine. Was most recently very impressed with getting my first gel manicure there. I never get manicures because they don't last for 1 day. She was very careful with doing the gel manicure and told me it would last 2-3 weeks. Mine has lasted 4 weeks (I have been using rubber gloves for dishes). Am going back for another gel manicure in another week. read more

EM takes time to clean my nails and once I get pedicure the color stays for a long time. She always give me a great massage as well. The salon is always clean and she always clean the pedicure spa carefully and I feel very safe to stick my feet the pedicure tub.
