We had an emergency water heater replacement happening and decided it made sense to go from gas to electric. Our Plumber recommended Lighting Bug Electric. Our plumber called them and told us what we needed and they provided a quote. Matt came out the next morning and was friendly and professional. I could tell very quickly that he was knowledgeable and experienced. He gave me a quick overview of the state of our current fuse panel and made sure everything was tightened down. He walked me through what he was going to do and gave me a quick quote to add an additional GFCI outlet next to the water heater. He completed all of the work in a timely matter. Terrible, dishonest contractor.... About the only thing they are good at is breaking other utility lines: they have busted gas lines and sewer lines and do really shoddy electrical work. Took them two months to connect one mobile home...and the work was so bad we had to have another electrician do it all over again. But I don't think they care because it sounds like they are about to go belly up anyway. AVOID! read more

I called these guys about getting an outlet for a welder and the soonest they could come out was about a week and the receptionist said it would be a free quote. I was excited the whole week leading up to the appointment with the anticipation of getting to play with a new toy that melts metal over the weekend. Day of I get a call around 8am from a cheerful gentleman, Tim, who let me know ETA was about 30 minutes. He was a delight the entire time he was here and took the time to explain the situation. My breaker box is located in my garage and the previous home owners did a little DIY work. While sparks are fun, I don't enjoy having them shooting out from the outlets or any part of my home. As you can guess, Tim recommend we update the breaker box. Tim was knowledgeable and took the time to explain all the problems and why they were problems. We talked about the soonest they could have someone out to do the work and by 10am Nick arrived. I had assumed that swapping out the breaker box would take an hour or 2. I was way off. I had the pleasure of spending my day with Nick. Nick is a sharp guy and knows a whole lot. Being like a small child, I wanted to know everything he was doing, why, and how things worked. Nick was kind enough to explain everything and one of the many things that stood out to me was the craftsmanship of how he organized the wires. During our time, I had to call into work for a meeting about hiring a new employee. This got us on the topic of hiring really good quality people. We talked Lighting Bug, their hiring process, how they treat their employees. I was impressed by the things I heard. This company takes damn good care of thier people and is something you don't see enough of. Nick was here until about 6pm and once he was done, he took the time to clean up and threw away all the mess created from cutting wires and drilling into concrete. They came and checked my ceiling fan light that was flickering. Tech didn't really know about the capacitor. Gave me quotes to install new ceiling fan which was still working instead of trying to wire a new capacitor to fix light issue. $99 dollars just to tell me he can smell like a wire in capacitor is fried. Courteous, confident and competent. We needed a quick upgrade to our antiquated and janky attic electrical system prior to an extensive insulation job and LBE saved the day! Bobby was quick to evaluate the situation and suggested needed work to get the attic squared away and in a much safer condition. Esteban and Taylor took on the job a few days later and overcame all the obstacles in their way. They expertly upgraded and repaired my derelict attic system, replacing many old junction boxes and connections, rerouted existing cables and installed new wiring and breakers where needed. We were grateful to have them on the spot when a fault in the system appeared necessitating immediate repair. They stayed an extra 3 hours to ensure the fault was repaired and everything connected to it was good. I called for an estimate for multiple small projects around a new house including installing ceiling fans, adding outlets and lights in the garage etc. Someone came out within a few days to look over all my projects and provided a full estimate within 15 mins. Estimate was presented separated out by line item so we could decline anything we didn't agree with but all pricing was good. When I originally called I was told it would probably take a few days to actually schedule the work once we approved but they were able to have people out to complete same day. We found some pretty interesting, past owner DIY's that took a lot to fix but the guys stayed until all the items were complete which I'm sure was well past their end of shift. I was also worried about calling a repair companY in Atlanta. We had preciously has a small plumbing issue, and in spite of checking with Yelp and other sources, we had been seriously over-charged -by at least $100 -and forced to wait all day too. I was very nervous about the ethics of Atlanta's repair people to say the least! As my situation was serious; I had to call in someone. I decided on Lightening Bug. From the start the service was great. The phone receptionist, Alison was profession and kind, as was their service manager. They sent an electrician to my home right away, even tough it was a Friday night. The electrician, Kevin was helpful, polite, and professional. He got my power safely reinstated for my dinner party the next night -even though we to wait for parts for the full repair. Kevin returned on the weekend to fix a slight problem -at no charge. He even left his personal cell number so if I had a problem I could call him directly as he knew we were having guests. They gave us a complete estimate to replace our panel. They explained the estimate and did not inflate the costs. The work was done in timely and professional manner. These guys were great! Very friendly on the phone and were able to come to the house in a couple of hours. The tech was very honest and even though it ended up costing quite a bit (for a whole new breaker panel) I could tell he wasn't just trying take me for a ride. Absolutely no sales pitch at all. I am confused with this company. Last week meaning 09/21, I called left a message and a man named Daniel called me back. He was supposed to come by my home on the 24th. I had ordered a tankless water heater after a through web search off Amazon. You need an electrician to install it, for me at least, to make sure you have proper amps, ect. Today I just called same company back, to say, lost my phone, items have not arrived, lets make it Monday or next week. I was told , there is no Daniel that works there, nor do they come to where I live. After we purchased our home William came out to complete some work listed in our closing agreement with the sellers. A week later, all the power went out in our bedroom only and he courteously came back out to ensure the issue was not a result of any of the work he had done. After an extremely thorough inspection he determined the issue had nothing to do with any of the work he had performed but he gave me a complete explanation of what the issue was and provided me with a couple of different options regarding how to rectify it. He completed the work in a very timely manner and also provided me with extremely helpful information about other issues we should look out for as well as very reasonable estimates for everything.
