We regularly have breakfast at places like this when we're home, so it was nice to find a small breakfast and lunch restaurant that felt familiar. This is not a fancy restaurant by any means, but it is cozy and comfortable, and a diner where you'll receive fairly priced, well-cooked fare. The servers that we encountered were welcoming, attentive, and gracious. Our coffee cups were never empty. Was the food extraordinary? No, but it was equal to our expectations for a satisfying and tasty breakfast. I ordered two eggs over medium and potatoes, I also upgraded my toast to biscuits and gravy. The eggs were well cooked, the potatoes were overcooked (which I didn't mind), and the biscuits were fluffy and served with an ample portion of thick flavorful gravy. The cook who plated my meal clearly understood the importance of a proper biscuits-to-gravy ratio which was terrific. FYI-we ate up every bit of that delicious gravy. Will we return? I consider this a Find! What a fun rendition of a very "beach side café". Casual dining, spotless, friendly, and great food. I couldn't ask for more. What appeared to be a tiny café on the outside was deceptive. While you are greeted by cute counter seating and a few small tables as you walk in, there are plenty of larger tables in a back room. It appears they are prepared to cope with the weekend masses (small surprise after eating there). Everything was fresher than fresh, generous, and beautifully cooked. This is one of those special places that hand breads their Chicken Fried Steak. You must try it, as it is quite tender inside, you can cut it with your fork, with a nice crispy coating that is its own reward. The homemade country gravy is equally great, only wish it was slightly less thickened. We also tried their beautiful scramble with bacon, spinach, mushrooms, cheese. So tasty, I had second thoughts about giving up a bite in trade for the CFS. That is so not like me. And the whole wheat toast was thick cut from a hearty whole grain loaf. I wonder if that beautiful bread happens to be locally made? I would recommend bookmarking this place and visiting sooner than later! read more

This little place was off the beaten path but worth the search to get there. You think the menu prices are a bit pricey until you get your plate and then you are like whoa!! The food is great, has that homemade taste and serving size, you won't leave hungry that's for sure. As a southern woman, I judge a breakfast joint by their biscuits and gravy, if they have it. It is impossible to find good gravy west of the Mississippi BUT this place gives it a run for the money! This is the second year we have vacationed in this area and I cannot get enough of this place. Service is great. The outdoor seating is nice and the food is home cooking. We were traveling with the family and found this place on yelp with great reviews. Our food was great but the manager at this restaurant (Kiara) was very rude. She was helping our server to run the food, dropped the plates hard on the table to where our party all noticed. Also, asked about my side of gravy and she walked off with no response. If you're the manager, you should set a better example for your employees. Needless to say, how she became a manager eluded us. read more

STAY FAR AWAY, this establishment STEALS money. It blows my mind. My husband went in because once we left and received a email receipt we noticed an additional a 20% tip on our card was added (when we had left our 20% tip in cash). The server went ballistic on him, also claiming she is also the owner? So apparently the owner enjoys stealing money from paying customers. Cussing him out and causing a scene. She added additional money to her tip, then tried to lie and hide it when we went back to try and figure out what happened. if I could leave 0 stars I would. There are SO MANY other breakfast places to go with great food and service. The food is so so, and honestly the service is not great. I finally got the chance to try this place as it has been recommended to me by several of my friends in the area. The portions at this restaurant are very generous. They cater mostly to breakfast and they're very good. I had the Ole Popeye which was bacon spinach mushrooms scrambled with the eggs on top of their home fries. It was fantastic. I am not normally a biscuits and gravy kind of guy, but theirs were very good and I enjoyed them thoroughly. This is not a big place and they are often busy with the local crowd. For 2.00 extra I had 1 slice of French toast instead, which was tasty. My husband had the veggie omelet with egg whites, crispy hash browns and French toast. The food was hot and it came out quick but it didn't feel rushed. They also have a lunch menu. We saw someone with a huge sandwich and crinkle cut fries that looked really good. Thank you Yelp. Otherwise, how would I have found this hidden gem? The place looks like it's been around for awhile, and like it used to be a house or something. This is Pismo, so everything is old. In fact, it's quite possible the place opened it's doors yesterday lol. Anyways, we were seated way in the back. Perfect if you're rolling with a loud group. We weren't loud, initially. More on that later. I had such a hard time picking a meal, I settled on the stuffed French toast. I'm used to the IHOP version, which has small portions that leaves me wanting. I couldn't finish all my food on this day. I hope you don't experience this anomaly, but the cream cheese filling wasn't mixed all the way, so I had a few sour bites. Our waitress was awesome! My mother in law and her were having a good ole conversation, and laughing and talking like old friends. When all was said and done, they hugged before we left. She wasn't our only waitress. Lil'Bits is a gem. We stumbled upon it and thought about the rick and morty episode with lil bits as a restaurant selling little food. This Lil'Bits does not do little portions. They do huge, filling, and delicious brunch items. The homemade biscuit is really good. All their meats were good (chorizo and verde). Did a pick up order. Staff who took my order friendly. Once arrived, I ended up parking in the food truck parking lot, it's on the smaller side brunch location. Many people around noon, not too long wait. I went inside to pick up my order, really fast. I ordered a breakfast burrito, meh not a $14 worthy burrito. Most of it was drenched in oil, I took most of it out. The only savior of the burrito was their homemade salsa which I poured on my eggs. It had the right amount of spice and flavor.
