We're out of town visitors and visited on July 3, 2026 because it was recommended by family who live near by. We ordered tri-tip sandwich with mac & cheese. When it arrived, we noticed that we also got some beans which was a nice addition. The tri-tip sandwich (which was a little on the small side) and the beans (which my husband ate all the beans) were really good. But unfortunately, the mac & cheese was pretty awful. It was so watered down that the only thing you could taste was plain noodles and a little bacon. Our family had described it to us that when they put their fork in the macaroni noodles and pulled it up, there was a long string of cheesy goodness. Unfortunately, I'm not sure ours had any cheese on it. So it seems like they're very very inconsistent on the mac & cheese. Would I give this place another try, sure. Would I order the mac & cheese again next time? I'm not sure. What I should've done was complained about it (to a really nice lady waiting on us) while I was there, but unfortunately I did not say anything and that was my fault. read more

We went there for the first time last Thursday. The food was so good. They had spare ribs that were so tender. I ordered a full rack but I think they gave me way more than that. The Mac and cheese was very good. My husband had the western burger. Our son had the tritip sandwich. We were served onion rings as a free appetizer. Excellent! Service was great. Three of us had dinner at Vix's tonight & it deserves five stars for service, ambiance, & huge portions of great food. Two in our party had the tri tip sandwiches, one with fries & the other with mac & cheese plus very tasty beans. I had the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs, 6 very tasty & meaty tender ribs, very fresh & perfectly cooked broccoli, a stuffed bake potato & garlic bread plus a very generous mixed green salad. All our food was delicious & very worth the price. We certainly did not leave hungry & I have three ribs to eat for lunch tomorrow. This restaurant is a definite asset to the AG Village & I'm hoping that it continues to be successful & profitable in these difficult times. read more

OK this review is for dinner. First off service was good, Justin was our server. I had Filet mignon and it was. Just ok. Came with a salad which was good. I didn't want the beans and they let me replace with scallop potatoes, sort of runny. My husband had Salmon and said a bit over cooked, but vegetables were great. We did have a nice bottle of Hess Cab. The menu is small but I understand, they are. Slowly building up a clientele. Came by for dinner on a Friday. This is a relatively small place for a dinner venue. Place was moderately full. They have inside and outside seating. I ordered their Creekside Fries as I wasn't too hungry. Food was delivered timely and at the right temperature but i didn't see any tritip which is part of the menu item. I asked the server and she noticed the same and returned the dish to add tritip. Fries were fine but I should have requested them well done as the fries quickly became soft under the toppings. Service was friendly and efficient. I'll come back when I'm hungry to try a real entree. read more

My wife and I and friends had dinner at Vick's restaurant and old AG. The restaurant wasn't very busy. It was actually quite nice and quiet and it was decorated like the McClintock. The food was delicious. The waiting time was very little and the service was great. The owner/chef actually came out to talk to to see how he liked it. Very nice. He's doing an amazing job. Through Wednesday special to half a chicken Friday is prime rib, and the weakness, surf and turf for Mother's Day. Great place to eat. read more

Had been eyeing this place for a while. Their dinner menu looks so good and I'm not usually a big breakfast person but we ended up here for my stepdad's breakfast celebration. I can only rate the breakfast and to be honest there's nothing special about it. Kind of reminds me of a Denny's. I hate to say that because the staff is really great! The owner is so friendly and accommodating but the food is just average. My chicken fried steak was grimy and soggy. He was very understanding and switched it out for a ribeye steak. The steak was just okay. Maybe in the future they can add some innovative dishes for breakfast/brunch. Just realised I didn't even take pictures of the food, which I usually do... guess there was nothing special about it unfortunately. The views of the creek were amazing though! read more

Great breakfast! only just discovered they served breakfast! Visiting from Texas but had eaten at the former owners (McLintocks), for years. Totally enjoyed the breakfast, which my senior husband and I split, along with a side of massive biscuits and gravy. We will be back! Friendly, smiling waitress and the interior had been newly painted. Miss the walls that used to be covered in the Locals livestock brands, but maybe they will bring back that personal touch. I ordered the the Ribs and they were perfectly cooked and finger licking good. My dinner buddy had the Ribeye Steak-he was very happy with the flavor and tenderness of his steak. Okey...I've been there before for lunch and it was better than average. The ambiance is satisfactory, nothing fancy and waitstaff friendly and attentive. I must preface that I come from NYC and have dined at the best of steak houses there; so my experience and expectations might be a bit high when it comes to steak. I ordered the 8 ounce ribeye and the best I could say about it is...that it's probably better than an Outback steak with grill marks already in the meat. I noted it was an 8oz steak...which candidly was 4oz of gristle and the rest kinda tough as it was a challenge to cut...with an inadequate serrated knife that was barely up to the task. Yes I was disappointed. Here's what the menu says...We proudly serve only the finest USDA Choice steaks, aged for 45 days to bring out deep flavor and unmatched tenderness. We were excited to try the beef ribs since McClintocks went out of business, but unfortunately they fell well short of expectations. For $50+, we hoped for a rack that was juicy and flavorful -- instead they came out extremely dry and largely tasteless. The meat-to-bone ratio was quite low, and what little meat was there was tough and rubbery, making it nearly impossible to pull off the bone. They were the worst ribs I've ever had. I loved the vibe of this place... very chill and welcoming. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and it was an added bonus that the owner came to speak with us. I had the chicken salad and a side of brussel sprouts. I will tell you the sprouts were AMAZING and I was a bit saddened when they were finished. The salad was very tasty and fresh... I loved it! The only thing I would have done differently is I would have asked for chicken breast instead of the thigh meat that it came with because it was a bit undercooked according to what I normally like. We are so happy this restaurant reopened under new owners. We have gone a couple of times now and the food is so delicious, with lots of love and care put into it. Today I ordered the chicken sandwich, but I asked for just a grilled chicken breast instead of the breaded chicken and they happily obliged. My son ordered the barbecue ribs and said they were the best he has had in a really really long time. He was so excited to have them for lunch. The beans are so unique and tasty! From what I understand, they are a family recipe. The prices are also so reasonable. We both got out of there with a big plate of food and drinks for under $50 total. First time visiting Vix Creek Saloon, since is under new ownership. What a great surprise!!! We got seat right away, staff was very friendly and accommodating. We were very surprise about how good and tasty the food was, out server Tonya was amazing, she recommended their special and a couple of other options, salad was so fresh and dressing tasted really good, our steaks were cooked to perfection, we also ordered some mac and cheese, baked potato, everything was sooo delicious. Reviews are usually easy but this one is hard because I have to weigh food versus setting. The food was great for the most part. Delicious blue cheese dressing. Steak was cooked perfectly. Nice veggies and mashed potatoes. However, my love's tri-tip salad was served medium to well when she asked for medium rare. I suspect the tri-tip was not cooked to order. Our server wasa excellent Atmosphere. I am sorry, but the dining room is like eating in a gymnasium. There is absolutely no atmosphere. From our table we had a lovely view of a food preparation area with stacks of stuff on multiple shelves. But if you like mounted deer heads you will love it. One more thing. Tell the bartender how to dress. A wife beater shirt beneath a half unbuttoned long sleeved shirt is not a good look. read more

Vix Creek Saloon was a great experience. The customer service was kind and attentive. Staff came by to check on everyone, asking how we were doing and if we were enjoying our food. We stopped in for lunch, and the portion sizes were generous. One of us ordered the tri-tip sandwich, which came with beans, mac and cheese, and a house-made chimichurri sauce that was out of this world. The other meal was a plate of ribs with the same vaquero beans, which are served as a standard side. The beans were seasoned to perfection. That plate also came with mac and cheese and a side of garlic bread. I decided to add a house salad because I felt like I needed some greens. It was a basic salad of mixed greens, tomatoes, croutons, and red onions. I ordered it without the onions. They offered a few dressing options, and I chose the Italian one. It was simple but good. The mac and cheese was flavorful but not extra creamy. Everything we had was delicious, and the chimichurri sauce was definitely the standout. After lunch, we took a walk to the farmers' market and around the surrounding area, as it was such a beautiful day. There were plenty of trees, a park, a suspension bridge, and some charming little shops to explore. I'd recommend this restaurant to anyone who is a big fan of chimichurri because it was outstanding!
