Went to dinner near this restaurant and decided to try it the next morning. I remember going to one on Halcyon near the 101 years ago. We got seated right away and a lovely young girl, got me coffee and my husband water. She kept them both filled during our stay. Our server was Alelina, she was OK. I had the bacon, avocado, cheese omelette with crispy hash browns and they were and wheat toast, which was pretty good. My husband had a ham and cheese omelette and the other sides same as me. He would have liked Peter jack cheese or at least a choice. The salsa was also very good, I put on my omelette. Remember a lot of places charge extra if you use a credit card. I did and it was an extra 4%. It's tough, breakfast used to be for two around $25 and now it's more like $50. I will keep it on the list of places we like to go. If, they also have a nice outside area to sit, especially if you have a large family. read more

Came for the first time with my family super clean. Right off the bat walking in we were greeted so kindly. Our waitress was attentive. Food was delicious it didn't taste like any old oils everything nice and fresh. The toast was my favorite. Definitely would come again. Hospitality was my biggest thing here. read more

If you are from Brooklyn or like the old school Greek diners that were all over decades ago, this is a kind of place to relive your memories. Yearn for an old school Club Sandwich, a Spaghetti meal, or how about a nice greasy spoon old school breakfast spread? It is definitely not fancy in the least & I think they reused the same weathered old chairs from back in their old location. How to tell it is "authentic"? Old school : Ceramic white generic coffee cups with a saucer. Real Creamer mini-containers on a saucer. Lots of sugar. Ladies roaming around to refresh one's coffee. Eggs done as you like them. Generic White Bread that toasts to a bland crisp. A slab of meat, such as pork chop that is fried to an unhealthy degree. Lots of ultraprocessed items. Home fries with lots of fixings.... and so on. What is not old school are the new prices. An extensive spread doe snot come cheap, but it is well worth it. The atmosphere will make one feel young almost at any age. Many that come here could be pushing 90-100 or so. Being around 65 or so, feels underage here. If no one states it....this is a domain for seniors who long for the good old days. Completely ignored us after we got our menu. I asked if we could grab a table on the patio after we stood there awkwardly for too long. Usually, they tell me to grab any seat I want when I've come in every other time. We did receive water. Lots of staff helping everyone around us. We left after 15 minutes. Bummer.. we were ready to order big time - super hungry. 11:15am Sunday 1/11/26. Such a shame because I like this place normally. Won't be back. We went down the street to Lil Bits. We dined here last Saturday before hitting the beach! We arrived relatively early so rhe place wasnt crowded yet. The waitress greeted us and immediately brought over kids menus and crayons for my 4 year old twins. We ordered and got coffee. The twins ordered pancakes and the pancakes came complete with chocolate chip eyes and in the shape of a characters! The boys loved this, extra little touches like this are fabulous!! I ordered a breakfast burrito which was huge! I cpuld only eat half of it and saved the other half for lunch (it was too good not to save!). My husband and his boss ordered chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy and eggs and bacon. Everything was delicious, the service was fast but not rushed and everyone was super friendly! The resturant itself was super clean and well set up. We ate inside but it appeared to have an outside eating area too! With food this delicious i would imagine later in the day this place gets packed. We will definitely be back next time we visit! read more

Everything was spot on! The salsa is to die for you could tell it's freshly made every day. Service is beyond five star, knowledgeable, friendly timely not to mention they have fresh squeezed orange juice that's chef's kiss ! The ambience is relaxed and affordable. The pancakes were so fluffy and delicious. I'm still thinking about them. The whale was delicious hashbrowns with crispy country. They have REAL turkey not that pressed junk with additives, preservatives and stabilizers that give me a rash. The rye was soft and just right. My wife ordered the machaca breakfast which came with flour tortillas and she got half beans and half potatoes as suggested by our server. I saw the rib eye steak and eggs special on the chalk board as we entered the restaurant. My wife is picky about her beans and she said she really liked the beans on her breakfast. Oh my gosh. What can be said here.? My son and I were riding bikes and thought we would spend money at a local business. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. I've never been served ROTTEN MEAT in my lifetime. Rotten meat. Rotten meat, chicken fried steak to be exact. My son got it. We had joked that I would never order chicken fried steak, but I will always eat a bite of someone else's. So as soon as his steak hit the table, he took a bite and then offered me one and put it on my plate. It had gravy on it, and I popped it in my mouth. There was a strange, strange sour taste. I love sour things, but steak? I had never encountered anything like this. I spit it immediately into my napkin and told my son it tasted sour. I could see by the look on his face. He almost threw up. He couldn't even really eat it. I've never sent things back in a restaurant before. It's not my thing to do. An overcooked steak or whatever might not be too big of a deal. But rotten meat? I've never.! I have never in all my days. So I did end up standing up, and my legs just carried me into that place, and the first person I saw was a tall male, and I asked if he had cooked the food and he said 'yes'. I explained that we had been served rotten meat. The waitress immediately came out and tried to see if we wanted something else, but my son Was not interested. he asked if he could just be refunded. I must say the mimosa was wonderful. My corned beef hash was certainly not bad, but after the rotten meat, I gave it to my dog anyway. We quickly paid the bill ....And we fled. We feel so sad to have to leave a negative review. We should've read all the signs. The main sign being that at 12:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday there was only one other table there. No people, in spite of the fact that it is right across the street from an old people place. One would think the old people would flock to a place like this. Trust the old people They're never wrong. This was expensive on the menu. But I just pray to God that nobody ends up barfing today. read more

Came to Francisco's on a Friday evening for dinner with my wife and I now have to update my review to 5 stars. I had the chicken wrap with bacon and avocado and it did not disappoint. My other half had a combo plate with a fish taco and cheese enchilada with rice and beans and avocado. The food was served hot and the service was friendly and attentive. Stopped in there this week end for breakfast. I had seen it while in the shopping center. We walked in, we weren't greated but everyone seemed occupied with other customers so I will give them that. We were asked after a couple of minutes how many we said just two. We were taken to a booth given menus and they got our drink order. We looked over the menu choices and placed our order. I got a breakfast burrito with bacon cooked crisp. Our order came out in a great amount of time. I asked for fresh salsa. The burrito was good but bacon was not real crisp which was a little disappointing. The salsa took about two toys asking to get any. These are the reasons for one less star. But I do recommend trying this spot. They do have patio areas and had space heater which is nice. read more

Francisco's has always been a place I have appreciated and enjoyed. We went to the restaurant on Grand Avenue in Arroyo Grande for the first time today and WOW! What awful service! The biscuit didn't taste anything like a biscuit and it was a "pounded down" size of the biscuit on our neighbor's plate and smelled -- inedible. The bacon was so salty we could not eat it all (we both love bacon!) The scrambled eggs were cold (both of us) and, the waffle was not sufficiently cooked; it was almost soggy on the bottom. Service? We had to capture someone to take our order and long after we had finished eating, I managed to ask for the check. it took so long we were tempted to walk out without paying. Finally I took it to the register to pay. Because I usually have a cane or (now) a walker I am accustomed to employees reaching out to make room for me to move through. Not this group. Sorry to lose this as a feasible place to eat a meal. SO disappointed! read more

I was scrolling through some of the reviews from past months and saw a similar experience like we encountered yesterday at Francisco's Country Kitchen. We arrived at around 1pm an employee seated us, gave us a menu and poured us some coffee.  I noticed after approximately 10 minutes nobody came back to take our order, yet I noticed a group of employees congregating behind behind the counter.  They were all chatty and I noticed one pouring herself a drink and she joined the group and continued to chit chat.  A worker passed by our table and I asked her if someone would take our order, she simply said this is not my table and walked away. I asked her can you get someone and I pointed over to the group chatting and she says we are in transition.   Finally the same person came back and she took our order.  I had the chorizo and eggs which was good and my brother had the ham and egg omelette which he said was just plain tasting.
