Regular fries are super crispy. The sandwiches come with a salad and the fries are extra - but the lilikoi dressing is really good homemade dressing. They sell the lilikoi dressing for $8-$9 for a 8oz bottle but it's totally worth picking up. So glad they sell it. They also make they really good açaí bowls. The macadamia is good, the lilikoi one is better I think. There are also lilikoi lemonade drinks and those are pretty strong and taste like a tropical drink. A sweet little cafe next to the Starbucks in Kailua. It's my 2nd time here, and the first for the hubby. The sweetest lady to go along with it, giving instructions on how to order and then serving our food! Excellent quality of food packed with lots of flavor. I ordered the lemongrass shrimp curry, served with rice, potato Mac salad and a green salad. Very fragrant curry...could use a bit more gravy to cover the amount of rice and I would bump up the shrimp size to 16/20 for more of an impact of "shrimp" in the dishes title. But yummy all the same. My hubby had the Wagyu pastrami melt served with Parmesan fries. Delish with provolone and lemon garlic aioli. We shared the shrimp fajita quesadilla, kinda like an appetizer, so good... really nice clean flavors. We also got a side of duck fried rice, it was good. The hubby also ordered the farmers acai bowl, was really good. I was sad they didn't have their chicken and dumpling soup...but we'll just have to come back. Super nice people working at this restaurant. Our food was so good. Had the Bacon avocado toast and it was fantastic. Great touch with a sprinkle of chili oil on top really made this stand out from other avocado toasts I've had before. Our food tasted great and the portions were generous. The restaurant atmosphere is very nice. We scanned the QR code at our table to access the menu, order online and pay our food in advance, I like that setup. The service however needed improvement. When we arrived at the restaurant it wasn't crowded. Two tables were finishing up their food and would leave soon. That left only us and another table who already placed their orders. The problem we experienced was that the server gave us the other table's orders. We hadn't even finished ordering our food on the app. The other table acknowledged the orders given to us to be theirs, and I felt embarrassed for them. We were both gracious towards the server and he was very apologetic. As for our own orders it took a while for us to get our food. My food came out first, and my brother and sister in laws food came out about 10 minutes later. We had to ask for our drinks again and our fries came out 5 minutes after my family's food. There were only two people working in the restaurant, the server and the cook. The cook also served and in spite of the slow service they did their best to take care of us. I would recommend Lilikoi Kitchen if you plan to takeout. If you plan to dine in you'll need to exercise patience and empathy. read more

Convenient location in Kailua Town near Teddy's Burgers, Lilikoi has a nice bunch of staff and some interesting local spins on classic breakfast favorites. My friend and I both had the Belgian waffle which came with our choice of breakfast meat and eggs. The scrambled eggs were fluffy without being airy and therefore, insubstantial; bacon was thin and perfectly crisp. My friend liked her veggie sausages option. For both of us, the waffle was a flop--it was just too tough! Don't know what flour was used but the texture does not work. My parents just got back from Kailua and told me this story. They dined in and got sat. The waitress said to use the QR code to order. My parents went on the QR code, used the link but for some reason half the menu said unavailable. They were confused so my mom decided to order at the front instead. Duck fat Fried Rice Loco Moco and the Mac Nut crusted Mahi Mahi. After about 10 min of waiting, they hear the next table order and the waitress says they are out of the Mahi. Finally my parents waitress came back and said they are out. Only Mahi they have is for the sandwich. So my mom orders something else. Another 10 min go by. The waitress comes back and says "apologies, I found a fish for you. Would you like the Mahi instead?" Of course they said yes. Another 25 min go by. Meanwhile, other ppl are ordering and getting their food while my parents are waiting. The waitress comes back and says "apologies for the wait, we have an inspection going on so things are moving slower than usual" but my parents sees everyone else who came in later than them eating already. My parents at this point haven't even gotten their waters refilled. Another 10 min goes by and the food finally comes out. Now they did say the food was good. No problems there. But from the time they ordered, it took an hour for them to get their food. After all that, they get a to go box. The waitress gives my dad the to go box, cleans the plates, and then waits for him to put the food in his box by the table so that she can grab his plate. He said it was weird and almost felt rushed like she was trying to get him out of there. Overall it sounds like the service was bad and did not do a good job handling the situations they had (if they even had those things going on). My parents were disappointed and also somewhat felt discriminated against since most of the customers were a certain demographic while they were locals. Now there could have been variables and other things happening in the back that they couldn't know, but it was a bad experience for them. Hope they can improve on situational awareness and customer service. Addition: This is in reply to Bianca the owner. It is understandable to the series of unfortunate events that happened in one day. As you said, the mark was missed. Unfortunately, my parents felt they weren't handled fairly. As I said above, everyone being served before them even though they were there first and saw them order after. Could be an over exaggeration or situational, but that does not devalue my parent's perspective. The only communication they had was the inspection. Nothing was said about the stove or the influx of orders. Again, my parents didn't even get water refills until the food came out. And after all that, they were then rushed to leave. My family drove all the way to Kailua this past weekend to celebrate the opening of Lilikoi Kitchen. My review is mostly based on the food since I was not able to partake in the opening ceremony, but my sister was able to capture some video of the ribbon-cutting. They brought us back some food to try. I got the turkey BLTA and my husband got the Cubano panini. I really liked my turkey BLTA mostly because of the pesto aioli. I did notice that it was missing the balsamic glaze on top, which would've been nice because it really needed some acid to cut through the sandwich. Thankfully, the sandwich comes with a side salad, and the Lilikoi dressing was perfect for the sandwich. My husband tried the Cubano and was not impressed. So much show that he had to make homemade Cubano's from scratch (that is how serious we are about our Cubano's). I don't recommend the cubano if you love a traditional cubano. The couple of issues I'm sure were due to them just opening so hopefully they can straighten them all out. But overall, I really liked my turkey BLTA sandwich and there were a couple of other things that I would love to try on their menu. read more

One of the best places in Kailua to eat for sure! They were out of some menu items for dinner, but I loved the Mac nut mahi mahi and the braised beef. The avocado toast is yummy too. You can sit at the table at order via QR code or go up to the register. If you are with kupuna who like paper menus, it might just be easier to order at the register lol. The interior is small but cute and clean, might be hard to get seating during peak times. The chairs are kind of low for kids, but there is one high chair if you have a baby or small toddler. We went to Lilikoi kitchen tonight. They do offer seating inside but we wanted a take out. No calling ahead for pick up tho. I wanted to go there to try a new place and it's so cold I thought the Chicken and dumpling soup sounded great! What I got wasn't a soup. It tasted good but I would use this in tacos or burritos. There was no soup at all. My dish included a small lettuce salad with a yummy dressing. I also got a grilled piece of bread that was very crunchy but no real flavor. My husband got the curry shrimp dish. The shrimp were plump and the veggies and macaroni salad were good and the rice was plentiful. The curry was spicy tho and he didn't remember reading that on the menu. He also thought the curry was thin and under his rice. They were the worst pancakes I have ever had. The coconut cream was awful. Tasted artificial. The pancakes huge and heavy. Portion size is huge if that what you like. I brought home what I didn't eat which was about 90% of it. I thought maybe just regular maple syrup on it would me better. Nope! I don't recommend. I've been to the other location a few times when I was getting my tattoo (shout out to The Collective!) and loved everything I tried so I was anxious to try the new location with dinner options and more seating. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable. You order at the counter, either on their touchscreen ordering station, or with an employee and find a table. He chose the braised beef and I had the Mac nut crusted mahi. Both said they came with mashed potatoes on the menu but we subbed for rice. When the food came, I took one look and knew I was going to hurt myself. It looked so Ono. The first taste of the sauce the fish is in got me addicted! My mouth is literally watering right now just thinking about it. "Sesame Dynamite Sauce". YES PLEASE! Put it on a shoe, I'd eat it. The fish was fresh and delicate, mac salad was good and rice was the perfect vehicle for me to mix with the sauce. If I hadn't gotten so full, I would have licked my plate. His braised beef was *almost* as good. Lol. Honestly, it was fantastic too but I had already tasted mine... The shoyu was just right, not over powering. It had a hint of sweet that melds so good with the salty. Add in a little garlic and it's a winner. Of course the beef was beautifully cooked and fork tender. Broke da mouth good! We were so full but there was lilikoi ice cream. How do you say "no" to lilikoi ice cream when you're at Lilikoi Kitchen? Had to get it. And you should too. The orders aren't made to the customers liking. Ordered their Duck Fat Fried Rice Moco. Egg was way over cooked and the gravy was ladled a little around the skirt of the dish. The gravy and the yoke egg is what really makes a good Loco Moco. The staff were young teens and that was ok. But they were not properly trained to serve customers or wait on tables. It did not have a home style feel at all. It felt like just business as usual. Actually did not like the Digital Dine-In experience. They should stop it and be more personal. Along with the Digital Dine-In you had to make the payment before you got your food as well as tip. Hubby said staff was pleasant enough, but very casual about him waiting so long. He was offered a glass of water while he waited and told something like "yea, sorry bro, the kitchen is busy tonight". At the very least, I know our orders were freshly prepared b/c they were still hot when hubby finally got back with them. The duck fat fried rice loco moco was so good that i ate it so quickly i didnt even have time to breath lol. The chicken bacon ranch quesadillas were so yummy and the salad with the dressing is always my favorite. The service is always great when i got there. The servers always checked up on me and my party and did everything they could to make sure we were comfortable. The restaurant is so cute and set up perfectly. You can walk in and find any table to sit and eat at. You can order at kiosk or on QR code which is great so it is not so crowded. Consistently excellent food quality, I would say this is one of the best places in Kailua if quality matters to you. All dishes look picture perfect and taste just as good. Average size portions, so do not expect a big value, for that go to Cinnamon's. However their beverage sizes are a somewhat large. The place gets quite busy during lunch or brunch hours, a half hour wait for your order is typical. They are short staffed as most employees are handling the kitchen. Ordering is online (tables have QR codes for the menu) or via kiosk at the register. Just take any table and send your order on the phone, they will announce you and bring it to the table when ready. Please be polite and return your finished plates and silverware to the collection bin, they do not have a busboy. I have tried almost the entire menu here and every dish was delicious and beautiful, they definitely put a lot of thought into recipes and presentation. Definitely worth a visit. read more
