I must admit I was skeptical. I was starving and they were close by, so in I went. The menu is decent and what one would expect for a sports bar. The place was far understaffed for a Sunday night. The bar tender seemed rushed and inattentive. None the less, I received a beer that was cold fairly quickly, but I had no idea there were any specials. I went out on a limb and ordered a fillet (from a sports bar!). For $16 I figured it could be terrible and I would still get something out of it. Surprisingly, it was delivered to the table on time and super tasty. The steak was cooked just right (medium rare), and the quality of the meat was really great. The sides were nothing to rave about, but a baked potato is a baked potato. The dinner roll could break teeth. As the evening wore on and the crowd changed from the neighborhood folks to the younger "punks" for lack of a better term, I decided it was time to leave. I was very put off by the fact that the loudest, most obnoxious patron in the bar seemed to be a waitress from the same establishment, still in uniform (OK, minus her apron) seated and drinking with other guests. You might find this hard to believe, but I am not exaggerating when I write that Lillian's has the best wings I have ever had. Completely unexpected. I've had wings as good - i.e., equally good but in a different way - but not better. And I'm a well travelled wing eater. Get them grilled - I haven't tried the non-grilled but apparently they are not nearly as good. Shocker of a finding in this dive of a bar. Not what it once was. Lillian's has gone down hill. When they first started, after replacing R.P. mcMurphy's, they food was fresh and tasty. It was a little warm, almost uncomfortable. The food was good. I got the bleu cheese and bacon burger. The burger itself was a little on the bland side, but with the bleu cheese on it, it was yummy. The fries as well were nice and crispy. I've been in there before many times and the good is usually average to good. I wish I could give a half star to up the rating just a tad. I was here last night. My dinner was exceptional as was the service. After dinner they had live music in the adjacent room. The acoustics were perfect and the band "Dillenger" packed the house performing outstanding 60's, 70's and a little 80's rock. Good food, service is lacking. I have visited Lillian's a few times over the past 2 years. The staff, especially bartenders, always seem a little annoyed to be working. I really enjoy the food, especially the nachos. The food is typical American cuisine and they do it well. The back room is huge with pool tables, arcade games, and lots of things to occupy my children while we wait for our food to arrive. The front dining room is rather small and I'm never sure if I am supposed to seat myself or wait for someone to approach me and seat me. There are also two front entrances very close to each other and I'm never sure which one to go in. It is a dimly lit dining room with dark wood and if you sit on the side with just booths, it is a tiny very nice restaurant.. but if you sit on the side with the bar, be prepared to have your conversation constantly interrupted by people yelling at the tv during sports games. Lillian's is a nice place to have dinner on a slow night. read more

Good food, reasonable prices, friendly servers, family atmosphere. I've been here MANY times. Every now and then the servers get a bit overwhelmed, but they're still generally both congenial and helpful. There are plenty of screens for catching sports action, and (if you happen to really love onion rings, as I do) they have some of the best onion rings around. Fun little "sports" bar tucked into a strip center on Blanding Blvd.. Lots of TV's with sports all over them. They offer a variety of food, appetizers to daily specials. It can get a little noisy and they LOVE the little sportster wannabes. Even has specials for them after games. So, if you are not in the mood for sweaty smelling kids, call ahead to see what's going on. For the food, it can range from spectacular to so-so. Not a lot of consistency. Their chicken fried steak is HUGE but there is garbage in their gravy. Like, the MSG kind. Almost fell asleep on the way home one afternoon. If you aren't adversely affected by MSG it is definitely worth a try. I'll go back, but I just won't order anything that could have the hidden MSG in it. I ordered wings and after 45 min we had to ask her where they were and they had not even started on the order. I spoke to the manager. Worst experience i have had in a long time. The server couldnt seem to make time for us. We sat waiting on drinks for 10 mins. When the server dropped our drinks and said she would be right back to take our order. 15 mins later and after watching her pass us by i dont know how many time she finally comes to take our order. They didnt have what i ordered. We just paid for our drinks and wanted to leave. When she brought our card back she informed us that she charged our card 50$ because she pushed the wrong button. Stay away from their boneless wings it is processed chicken, little round nuggets 10 of them for 8.99 it's a better deal at McDonald's If you can handle the processed meat. They were crowded for lunch but the meal took over an hour to make which for the life of me I cannot figure how the 10 little nuggets and a Blue cheese wrap could take that long, not to mention that the order was messed up by totally forgetting the fries and putting tomatos in the Wrap that we expressed to leave out. Although this place has good wings and service is always good. The last two times I have been there and ordered a basket of fries they were very small. I must have got the bottom of the bag as no fry was larger than an inch. When I ran my restaurant I would have been embarrassed to put that on a table. If you order celery you get one piece cut up and put into a dip cup. Not worth ordering. My review is that this place is cutting back on the sides instead of raising price. read more

I've been coming to Lillian's for around a year. The food is always well prepared and is delicious. They have an original menu consisting of all their own recipes. All of their sauces and dressings are homemade. My favorite item is their hand battered made to order onion rings. They will rock your taste buds. They also have two full service bars, a game room, and a large back room with stage where they host various events like jax idol and poker night. read more

Absolutely horrible. The other day, I joined some friends for lunch. I ordered a "salad" with the Ahi Tuna added. When the salad arrived, it was basically a handful of lettuce, and a little cheese (I asked for no tomatoes) and the tuna on top. The tuna was good. The "sauces" for the tuna were good. But no additional condiments (salad dressing) was provided for the salad, so I asked for some ranch dressing. I got a little container of dressing (you know those containers that have a lid to hold dressing for a to-go order). It was enough for about half the salad. I later asked for some more dressing. I also asked if they had any Sriracha sauce for the tuna. What she brought me wasn't Sriracha but something they mixed up in the back. It was terrible tasting so I just let it sit. Anyway, when I got my bill, I was charged $10.99 for a "Fish Salad," and another $3.00 for the Ahi Tuna. A little excessive but OK. Then I was charged $1 each for the little containers of dressing, and $1.50 for the little container of "Sriracha" sauce. With tax and an iced tea, almost $23.00! Are you friggin kidding me? I was so PISSED OFF, I paid the bill and left. There is NO WAY, EVER that I will step foot in that establishment. $13.99 for a salad and $2.49 for an iced tea is a little high, but OK. But to nickel and dime (actually $3.50) for some dressing and Sriracha? NOPE! And I will make sure I share will everyone I run into that they should NEVER waste their money at Lillian's. If you want Ahi Tuna and a reasonable price with top-notch service, go to Bonefish Grill. read more

Actually if there was a zero that is what I would give. We tried Lillians with a group after having bad service and poor food a number of times. We tried them again just to give the benefit of the doubt. Tonight may 17th was the poorest experience overall in any restaurant ever. We waited at least 35 minutes prior to any one taking a drink order. Many of our group waited longer. We were not all given menues. We had at least 4 different waitresses. Some of our group went to the bar to get own drinks. Reagan came in to save the day. Which became a farcical disaster. We were all told we did not qualify for happy hour as they filmed us coming moments too late...one would think after the extremely slow service and customer complaints that customers would reign supreme and be given the benefit of the doubt.....no no no Reagan and Lillians would win this argument as customers apparently are not a priority. So we paid full price after a very long wait with mediocre food and little attempt at customer service. This will be my last visit EVER to Lillians even if the were the last restaurant in Jacksonville. read more
