For Mother's Day Brunch we sat outside which could use a bit more ambience...there was nothing on the tables other than a couple of spots that they assured us weren't bird poo. The restroom situation is also quite rough with just two which are unisex and one and at time so there was always a line whenever one of us went over and at 1PM the garbage cans were overflowing and the state of cleanliness was severely lacking. Our waiter Marcus was phenomenal. He went out of his way to recognize the two moms and kept the bottomless drinks flowing. Other than the water refills he was on top of everything else. Was not a fan of the DIY mimosas, the juices weren't great. The sangria was a bit tart and tasted more prosecco than wine based. Meals though were all good, most especially the creme brulee french toast. Would most likely return. read more

Glass Ceiling Nomad has a lot going for it -- the location is convenient, and the rooftop space is definitely the highlight. It's a nice atmosphere for drinks and hanging out, especially if you're looking for a casual rooftop spot in the city without anything too over-the-top. The food we did receive was solid and overall pretty enjoyable. Unfortunately, the biggest issue was service-related: our order for the main courses was somehow lost, and we ended up waiting a long time before realizing they were never coming. By that point, it really put a damper on the experience. The staff was apologetic, but it was still frustrating, especially since it disrupted the flow of the meal. Overall, it's a decent spot for the rooftop and location, but the service mishap kept it from being a better experience. read more

While visiting a friend in NYC, my friend wanted to check out this spot and you get a really great view of the skyline. We ended up going on a dreary, drizzly day, so we could not sit on the patio but I really enjoyed the fact that the space felt super airy and light! There was an event that was being set up next to our table, but it wasn't really disruptive. It was really cool to see that the space was allowing a hosted event like that, even though their bar area was getting pretty full. We went around 430-5pm to catch happy hour and it was absolutely lovely! It was fairly easy to find, once you figured out the entrance, and getting to the roof was pretty simple. Everyone was super friendly and the drinks were pretty good. I didn't get any food but would love to come back and check it out more thoroughly! read more

I thought our server Andrew was accommodating and the perfect vibe for our group. We did bottomless drinks for brunch and boy did we have our fill. The food itself was solid, nothing extraordinary but not bad. For mimosas I only drank the orange because the other juices seemed too think. My friend got the cranberry sage which didn't blend into the drink. It sunk to the bottom. If you go in winter it is a little cold. But this spot is for sure a good time. read more

Came here simply for a drink on a whim during happy hour as it was close to our dinner reservation at Hangawi. It's fairly nondescript as you have to enter what looks like a small office building and take the elevator up. Once you make it up, then you get the airy feel of being up on the rooftop. Not knowing that you can't just grab drinks at the bar, we were seated for drinks. We had a small table that looked over a random building. Had a drink and that was it. I know most people's reviews are either in the evening or during brunch, so I can't attest to that. I will say the bathroom was clean, though I'm sure it gets packed during the busy hours. read more

It had a speakeasy feel , located in a small building on the top floor (4th). I didn't think it Would be as nice , It's a good surprise , it's a place for a drink or two with a view of the Empire State ( better at night ). I like the open concept and airy atmosphere. If you decide to sit in the small outdoor area, it's facing the virgin hotel that has a gorgeous terrace . Inside in the middle has inviting couches , nice furniture . First, lets start with the ambience. I thought the spot was very Cutesy! From decor, to vibes, immaculate . We came on a rainy day and it really set a very calm and enjoyable ambience. The Host in the front was super friendly and he was very welcoming. We were seated and we were greeted by the waiter, Andrew. This is where things go south. We were given the menu, and we needed a couple more minutes to decide. We told him we needed that and so he left. He comes back a few moments later and we asked him what he recommended (he gave us options). So the three of us were deciding amongst ourself what we wanted (based on his recommendations). I guess this offended him?! He then says in a really rude and condescending tone "ummm, im right here ladies, you can speak to me". I have never been too stunned to speak. I thought this was so rude and we felt rushed to order. He then proceeds to apologize after realizing how rude he was being by saying "sorry if that was rude". We decided we would not judge this place by this experience. Maybe Andrew was having a bad day. But throughout our time there, he continued to speak to us in a condescending way. When we finished our food and he came over to pick up plates, we tried to help him tidy up the plates and give it to him. He responded to that by telling us "you can hold on to that and just give me that" (regarding our plates). Idk it was very off putting the way he was speaking to us. To top it off, we were given the bill and we were accidentally overcharged, but we understand that mistakes can happen. On the other hand, Edgar the busser was amazing. He should be a waiter instead. He made our experience all the better. Now onto the food, we got the smash burger 10/10, flatbread Margherita 10/10. The B.A.L.T was good but the sourdough was tough. We, a group of 12, celebrated a milestone birthday for one of us and had an amazing time. We were seated in a corner that offered complete privacy and plenty of space for everyone. From every seat, we enjoyed outside views, including the Empire State Building, through the glass roof above. I started with a latte that was burnt - never a good sign. My friends and I wanted the frittata without mushrooms, but the server said it couldn't be modified because it was "pre-mixed." Still not sure what that even means. We ended up ordering the hummus, pita, and egg plate, which was inedible. I was shocked when I saw that Glass Ceiling had reservations available for a table on a Friday night in December. Seems like this place is a solid kept secret because the ambiance is warm, moody, very "New York City." It is quiet, dark, romantic, has a spectacular view of the Empire State Building - but be careful, their drinks aren't for the faint of heart! They're absolutely delicious, but they do have a true and generous pour. I recommend getting something to eat while sipping on cocktails. I highly suggest grabbing drinks and a bite here for happy hour, maybe before the Rangers game or a concert - it's close to MSG, a few blocks away, absolutely worth it! read more

Glass ceiling had a great ambiance. The waiter was very nice and efficient. It has beautiful views of the city, and comfy seats. However, the host was a bit rude upon our arrival. We had booked a table for 10pm, about an hour before that. He mentioned that it was last call when we were about to get seated, saying that he keeps trying to tell Open Table to not do that...this is not our issue. As we arrived we were greeted right away by the manager, Salestra who is absolutely amazing and such a lovely person. We were sat right away and greeted promptly by our server, Andrew who is another gem. He was attentive, made a great suggestion to try the bottomless red sangria, which we loved. I've been wanting to visit Glass Ceiling since they opened but never had the chance until now! My coworkers picked this spot for drinks and small bites. Upon entering it was just as nice as the photos. Super airy and it fits the garden theme. We were seated immediately in the terrace area. It wasn't busy at all but that's to be expected since it was a Tuesday. We were greeted by the waitress immediately. She was attentive and quick. We ordered drinks and I LOVED the Find Your Light. I had 2 more rounds. To eat we shared the House Chips, Prosciutto Flatbread, and Chicken Kebab. I didn't care for the House Chips so I didn't have it but my friends said it wasn't anything crazy. Pretty overpriced for it. Might as well get the guac and chips at that point. There's more to it. I'm not even a big fan of prosciutto but the flatbread was pretty good. The taste wasn't too strong which is why I usually don't like it. All the ingredients balanced well and wasn't too much. We finished it so quick. I really liked the chicken kebab. I've never tried couscous and I enjoyed it a lot. Everything had lots of flavors. The little salad tasted very fresh. I wish the portion was bigger for everything though, especially for the cost. She barely came by the table, and we waited about 45 minutes from having the table completely cleared and being ready to go before she ever came by to give us the check. She was nice, but very slow and not very knowledgeable. Con 3: they were completely out of sangria, which is part of their bottomless menu and the primary reason we came. They were also out of some of their mock tails. Pro 1: very good food. I was so excited to visit this cute rooftop, it was completely decorated inside giving off comfy cabin vibes! I started with the peach Bellini and it was delicious. I ordered the rose pancakes, not only were they lovely to look at but lovely to eat! It came with syrup and whipped cream it was amazing. My friend had the huevos rancheros and he cleared his plate! The view is pretty meh (you can see the Empire State Building) - if you are looking for a skyline view you aren't going to find it here since the rooftop isn't located on a higher floor than the surrounding buildings. Menu is very very limited and overpriced for what you get - I got the flat bread (which is considered an appetizer) but it cost the same as an entree. Drinks were strong but the menu was also very limited. They also can't server alcohol outside so if you choose to sit outside, they'll bring the drinks to a table inside and you have to get it yourself. Service was pretty meh as well - there was only one waitress working and it was pretty hard to flag her down to order and pay. read more

I wish I could give a zero-star rating. Firstly, the service I received for my birthday brunch was well below par. Our server, William, was incredibly sassy and condescending. The service was very slow, likely due to being understaffed. Despite this, I tried to remain patient and understanding. My group ordered bottomless mimosas (which I do not recommend) - I decided not to participate as I thought two drinks would be sufficient for me. William informed us that the "bottomless mimosas" would be timed, which was fine with us. However, after just 10 minutes, we had finished our drinks. While two friends went to take photos, the remaining friend and I stayed at the table. She tried to wave a signal to the server for a refill, he nodded. When my friends returned to the table and inquired about their drinks, we were concerned because we were told they were being timed. I wanted another drink as well, but I was more focused on ensuring my friends received their timed refills. When the server finally returned, I mentioned that they were taking a bit long for refills and reminded him about the timed mimosas. He condescendingly replied that he had already told me the refills were coming, which I disputed. My friend confirmed she had signaled him for a refill five minutes prior. My friend suggested he bring out a pitcher for easier refills, which he did before I could order my second mimosa our food arrived! As we started eating, I noticed he was nowhere to be seen. The small pitcher that was a liter was not enough for all four of us, so my three guests poured from it while I became increasingly annoyed. Eventually, my friend suggested I just finish the remaining champagne in the pitcher, which I did. At that moment, I made the decision that I no longer wanted to drink or even remain in that space. William reappeared, and when my friends asked for another pitcher, he looked at me and stated that they had given us the pitcher as a courtesy and that I had benefited from it, so he would only bring out three glasses for the table. I was utterly shocked and deeply offended by his remark. What remained in the pitcher was less than half a glass, and that's what he chose to say to me?! On my birthday, I was on the verge of walking out. My guests expressed their disbelief as well, commenting, "Wow, what an A-hole. He did NOT need to say that." I promptly called the manager over. Camila, the manager, was exceptional and tried to salvage my birthday experience. However, the damage had been done, and there was no way to salvage this terrible experience. William's behavior had been problematic from the beginning of the brunch. Even when I requested napkins, he responded by saying they don't usually provide napkins or silverware on the outdoor tables to prevent them from flying away. I acknowledged his explanation but asked if he could bring some out as we had spilled water on the table. He simply replied, "Yeah, they're coming," then walked away and returned, forcefully placing the silverware on the table, almost slamming them down. However, it was his snide remark about me "benefiting" from the pitcher that truly upset me and solidified my decision never to return to your establishment. read more

Oh my gosh, pancakes were so amazing I have never tasted pancakes that tasted this good in my life. I highly recommend those with a protein. For drinks, I had the lavender haze and the glass ceiling cocktail. I really enjoyed my lavender haze drink and would highly recommend it to future guests. The glass ceiling definitely took it up a notch and was tasty - it kind of resembled a mule. The warmth of the staff wasn't quite there, but since there weren't many people there for brunch, our food came out fast. There are many photo ops. Menu not very vast, do not come with a hungry belly.. lol. My friend and I tried a few drinks. Normal pricy Manhattan drinks. They were pretty cool and yummy. We had the sweet and spicy flatbread. Wasn't spicy according to my pallet but it very yummy. After polishing off the first we ordered a second. Reason for the four stars the bartender was so engaging it made the evening. I've been to Glass Ceiling twice, and both times it was pretty good, even though the first time was better than the second. The decor is top notch and is really pretty for taking pictures. The staff are friendly and the food is pretty good. However, on my second visit, the waiter was nowhere to be found, we had to call them before our order could be taken. We also had to call them on several occasions for things like the bill. The french toast and pancakes are both pretty good here and the drinks are pretty, but I hope they improve on the service side of things. read more
