Okay, I loved this location! Let me break it down so you can have a 10/10 experience too. First: Make a reservation! While you may be able to walk in, I wouldn't risk it. The restaurant does fill up, and you could end up waiting or not getting seated. The drinks: I highly recommend the $30 bottomless mimosas! They have a lot of different options to choose from, and my personal favorite was the lychee. The food: Delicious, filling, and reasonably priced. They have a great variety of options, from savory to sweet, and the portions are pretty generous. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant, which came with a salad, and everything was delicious. The view: BEAUTIFUL! You get an amazing view of Manhattan because the space is open enough to take in the scenery, but it's still covered, so you don't feel like you're sitting completely outdoors. It makes for such a nice dining experience. The service: Our service was good, and the host who greeted us was especially funny and energetic, which was a great way to start the experience. Had brunch over the weekend with some friends at "The Glass Ceiling." First off, I'd highly recommend making a reservation at least a week in advance because time slots do fill up quickly, especially during brunch hours. In addition, they don't accept anyone without reservations. The rooftop dining room is pretty spacious with lots of booths and tables, as well as a bar section. There is also a small section for outdoor seating on their patio. The natural lighting shining through the glass, floral decorations, and city view make this a great place to dine, as well as take many wonderful pictures. Ambiance rate: 9/10. My friends and I ordered... 1. Mimosas: - Lychee - Orange Juice - White Peach All mimosas were good; it wasn't too strong, nor too sweet. Rate 7/10. 2. B.E.C., Pleeeeease This dish was yummy and flavorful. Rate 7/10. 3. Ooo-la-la omelette: This was mediocre considering I barely tasted any truffle and it was a small dish for an expensive price. Rate 5/10. The staff were friendly, however the service was extremely slow. I thought our server Andrew was accommodating and the perfect vibe for our group. We did bottomless drinks for brunch and boy did we have our fill. The food itself was solid, nothing extraordinary but not bad. For mimosas I only drank the orange because the other juices seemed too think. There was an event that was being set up next to our table, but it wasn't really disruptive. It was really cool to see that the space was allowing a hosted event like that, even though their bar area was getting pretty full. We went around 430-5pm to catch happy hour and it was absolutely lovely! It was fairly easy to find, once you figured out the entrance, and getting to the roof was pretty simple. It's fairly nondescript as you have to enter what looks like a small office building and take the elevator up. Once you make it up, then you get the airy feel of being up on the rooftop. For Mother's Day Brunch we sat outside which could use a bit more ambience...there was nothing on the tables other than a couple of spots that they assured us weren't bird poo. The restroom situation is also quite rough with just two which are unisex and one and at time so there was always a line whenever one of us went over and at 1PM the garbage cans were overflowing and the state of cleanliness was severely lacking. My sister ordered the avocado toast and I ordered the salmon toast. When our food arrived, both pieces of bread had lint or fibers stuck to the bottom. We brought it to the staff's attention, and they remade both dishes. Unfortunately, the replacement plates had the same issue, so we decided not to eat them. What was most disappointing was that, despite the food being inedible twice, we were still charged for our drinks and bottled water. We understand paying for what you consume, but after receiving two rounds of food with the same problem, we expected the restaurant to handle the situation differently. The rooftop itself is nice, but the food quality and the way this issue was resolved left us disappointed. It had a speakeasy feel , located in a small building on the top floor (4th). I didn't think it Would be as nice , It's a good surprise , it's a place for a drink or two with a view of the Empire State ( better at night ). I like the open concept and airy atmosphere. First, lets start with the ambience. I thought the spot was very Cutesy! From decor, to vibes, immaculate . We came on a rainy day and it really set a very calm and enjoyable ambience. The Host in the front was super friendly and he was very welcoming. We were seated and we were greeted by the waiter, Andrew. This is where things go south. We were given the menu, and we needed a couple more minutes to decide. We told him we needed that and so he left. He comes back a few moments later and we asked him what he recommended (he gave us options). So the three of us were deciding amongst ourself what we wanted (based on his recommendations). I guess this offended him?! He then says in a really rude and condescending tone "ummm, im right here ladies, you can speak to me". I have never been too stunned to speak. I thought this was so rude and we felt rushed to order. He then proceeds to apologize after realizing how rude he was being by saying "sorry if that was rude". We decided we would not judge this place by this experience. Maybe Andrew was having a bad day. But throughout our time there, he continued to speak to us in a condescending way. When we finished our food and he came over to pick up plates, we tried to help him tidy up the plates and give it to him. He responded to that by telling us "you can hold on to that and just give me that" (regarding our plates). Idk it was very off putting the way he was speaking to us. To top it off, we were given the bill and we were accidentally overcharged, but we understand that mistakes can happen. On the other hand, Edgar the busser was amazing. He should be a waiter instead. We, a group of 12, celebrated a milestone birthday for one of us and had an amazing time. We were seated in a corner that offered complete privacy and plenty of space for everyone. From every seat, we enjoyed outside views, including the Empire State Building, through the glass roof above. Came in for a quick bite to eat with a coworker. The ambiance is great and there's a beautiful view of Empire State Building. As we arrived we were greeted right away by the manager, Salestra who is absolutely amazing and such a lovely person. I've been wanting to visit Glass Ceiling since they opened but never had the chance until now! My coworkers picked this spot for drinks and small bites. Upon entering it was just as nice as the photos. Super airy and it fits the garden theme. We were seated immediately in the terrace area. It wasn't busy at all but that's to be expected since it was a Tuesday. We were greeted by the waitress immediately. She was attentive and quick. We ordered drinks and I LOVED the Find Your Light. I had 2 more rounds. To eat we shared the House Chips, Prosciutto Flatbread, and Chicken Kebab. I didn't care for the House Chips so I didn't have it but my friends said it wasn't anything crazy. Pretty overpriced for it. Might as well get the guac and chips at that point. There's more to it. I'm not even a big fan of prosciutto but the flatbread was pretty good. The taste wasn't too strong which is why I usually don't like it. All the ingredients balanced well and wasn't too much. We finished it so quick. I really liked the chicken kebab. I've never tried couscous and I enjoyed it a lot. Everything had lots of flavors. The little salad tasted very fresh. I wish the portion was bigger for everything though, especially for the cost. The view is pretty meh (you can see the Empire State Building) - if you are looking for a skyline view you aren't going to find it here since the rooftop isn't located on a higher floor than the surrounding buildings. Menu is very very limited and overpriced for what you get - I got the flat bread (which is considered an appetizer) but it cost the same as an entree. Drinks were strong but the menu was also very limited. They also can't server alcohol outside so if you choose to sit outside, they'll bring the drinks to a table inside and you have to get it yourself. I wish I could give a zero-star rating. Firstly, the service I received for my birthday brunch was well below par. Our server, William, was incredibly sassy and condescending. The service was very slow, likely due to being understaffed. Despite this, I tried to remain patient and understanding. My group ordered bottomless mimosas (which I do not recommend) - I decided not to participate as I thought two drinks would be sufficient for me. William informed us that the "bottomless mimosas" would be timed, which was fine with us. However, after just 10 minutes, we had finished our drinks. While two friends went to take photos, the remaining friend and I stayed at the table. She tried to wave a signal to the server for a refill, he nodded. When my friends returned to the table and inquired about their drinks, we were concerned because we were told they were being timed. I wanted another drink as well, but I was more focused on ensuring my friends received their timed refills. When the server finally returned, I mentioned that they were taking a bit long for refills and reminded him about the timed mimosas. He condescendingly replied that he had already told me the refills were coming, which I disputed. My friend confirmed she had signaled him for a refill five minutes prior. My friend suggested he bring out a pitcher for easier refills, which he did before I could order my second mimosa our food arrived! As we started eating, I noticed he was nowhere to be seen. The small pitcher that was a liter was not enough for all four of us, so my three guests poured from it while I became increasingly annoyed. Eventually, my friend suggested I just finish the remaining champagne in the pitcher, which I did. At that moment, I made the decision that I no longer wanted to drink or even remain in that space. William reappeared, and when my friends asked for another pitcher, he looked at me and stated that they had given us the pitcher as a courtesy and that I had benefited from it, so he would only bring out three glasses for the table. I was utterly shocked and deeply offended by his remark. What remained in the pitcher was less than half a glass, and that's what he chose to say to me?! On my birthday, I was on the verge of walking out. My guests expressed their disbelief as well, commenting, "Wow, what an A-hole. He did NOT need to say that." I promptly called the manager over. Camila, the manager, was exceptional and tried to salvage my birthday experience. However, the damage had been done, and there was no way to salvage this terrible experience. William's behavior had been problematic from the beginning of the brunch. Even when I requested napkins, he responded by saying they don't usually provide napkins or silverware on the outdoor tables to prevent them from flying away. I acknowledged his explanation but asked if he could bring some out as we had spilled water on the table. He simply replied, "Yeah, they're coming," then walked away and returned, forcefully placing the silverware on the table, almost slamming them down. However, it was his snide remark about me "benefiting" from the pitcher that truly upset me and solidified my decision never to return to your establishment. read more
