BEWARE! DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE A CHANCE!! My fault because even after I read some of the reviews, I still took my uniforms in to get patches. I took 2 shirts in to get 6 patches sewn on a Thursday afternoon. I needed my uniforms by Tuesday. The lady assured me they would be ready. My wife went to pick them up on Tuesday after 3pm and my uniforms were not ready. She started to sew them on the spot while my wife waited. The quality was horrible. I paid $120.00 cash only for me to have them fall apart right away. I shouldn't have given them a chance, however I like to support ma and pa businesses when I can. Usually small businesses have great service but not only was the quality horrible but the value and customer service was way below average. The lady who was there was so rude and acted like we were a bother. Never again! read more

I needed my wedding dress altered. She took from the bottom and seamlessly inserted side panels in the dress to give me more room. It was flawless! And she even created a little train when there wasn't one to start. I received my dress when she said it would be ready. There were clothes everywhere that were being altered, which made it bit hard to maneuver, but she did an amazing job so it wouldn't prevent me from coming back. I had a horrible experience! She lost my dress!! I have a wedding to attend to July 13. She told me to come pick up my dress July 8 and she couldn't find it. My whole outfit is ruined. She is unorganized and a very messy individual. She was looking for my dress and trash bags! I am super upset with her, now I have to go look for another dress in a matter of two days. A little on the pricey side had a comforter get done. They quoted me a little less than what was on the phone. On the positive side they did get it done earlier than advised. I probably would just go to a regular cleaner and spend a few hours to knock it out next time to save on the $40+ I dropped to get this done. Hey they threw in an extra carrying case so I can take it to my house in style though. Person working the front was nice. Might go for altering work since it's nearby the house. read more

Extremely disappointing experience. Messy shop with no organization. Dropped off my dress on a Wednesday, needed it by Monday. I offered to go elsewhere if that timeline wasn't doable. I was told it would be ready, but when I called Monday, they couldn't even find it. Once located, the hem was rushed and horribly done -- the ruffle at the bottom was now inside out, the stitching showed, and the bottom hem was uneven with one side dragging like a tail. I went to another tailor immediately after and asked for help because I didn't trust Lily's to fix it. They were very shocked by the poor quality and said it was a really bad job. The new tailor fixed it perfectly. I'll never go back to Lily's and do not recommend. read more

I try to support local businesses, but this is definitely not going to get any recommendations. We brought a long dress in to be cut and made short. We were given a day it would be ready (1 week) and it was not ready and she seemed like she didn't know what dress was ours. We went back the next day and in a hurry didn't look at the work. The lining was sewn in inside out and 2 inches shorter than the sheer dress. It's definitely noticeable and will need to be fixed (not by this business). Make sure to get the price in writing as you'll be told something different when you pick up. Also, the place looks like a disaster zone. Unfortunately, you can't put anything less than 1 star, but my rating is a ZERO read more

I came in here a couple times. Once for pants alterations and another for my dress shirts. I didn't really have any issues with any of the times I came in. The pants alterations came out well and no complaints on any of my dress shirts. The turn around time for this was 7 to 10 days. For a minor alteration like mine, shortening pants or sleeves. I'd like a faster turn around time, but I'd prefer having my alterations done right than rushed. Lily was also able to give me some advice on what my fitting should be and what would be comfortable, so that's a plus. I also appreciate that they're open a bit later, if I get off work at just the right time, I might be able to catch her at the end of the day and drop off my stuff. They were also very reasonably priced. I have three more dress shirts that needs alterations, I know where I'm going. read more

An awful experience. Took in an expensive gauzy blouse to have the cap sleeves altered due to underarm fraying, and Lily suggested cutting them off and creating a simple sleeveless look. She sounded very confident and said she would need a week. Upon my return, she had no idea where my blouse was, and had not done the work. She dug it out of a deep smelly pile of clothes waiting to be mended. Asked me to give her two more days to complete the job. Returning two days later, I discovered she had STILL not done the work as once again she had to rummage through heaps of rumpled clothing to find it. Asked me to return in one hour. And, you guessed it--she began the job when she saw me enter the shop an hour later. Had her alteration work been stellar, there would be no reason for this review, but I watched her cut the sleeves off unevenly and stitch them with a wholly inappropriate heavy thread in a contrasting color that stood out visibly. When I protested, she handed me the garment and said "no charge," as though she was doing me a favor. Had to throw the blouse away as the armholes did not match, and the garment reeked of lingering b.o. from being stuffed in a dirty pile, which laundering did not remove. Truly awful experience here. I dropped off a suit jacket to have 2 buttons replaced. This was at around Noon. I told her I could return the following day at the same time and she said okay, it'll be ready, since that process only takes about 10 minutes. I came by at Noon the following after leaving work and when I came in she scrambled over to my jacket which still wasn't fixed. She then started to fumble around with a box of buttons and starting to attempt to fix the jacket right then. I was in a rush and expecting it to already be done, we had already discussed that it would be. I told her I would just return on another day. I was too busy to come by the shop again for about a week or so. I received no phone call informing me of the status of my jacket but I assumed it SHOULD be done after a week. I just picked up my jacket today and I'm floored. One button is distinctly brown and the other is jet black. This suit jacket is unwearable. I was initially shocked but bite my tongue on chewing this "seamstress" out until after I left. She was kind enough not to charge me for her incredible work. But once I left I called the shop to tell her how disappointed I was and she offered to "fix it for me" and lamented that she didn't have 2 same color buttons. Sheesh, she could have called and told me that a week ago! Instead of putting 2 different color buttons on my jacket! What a HUGE waste of time. The woman I dealt with seemed "nice" enough but this was an absolutely horrible display of incompetence and I strongly advise against using this establishment. What a joke! read more

As someone who wants to support small businesses, it pains me to write this review. Unfortunately, Lily's has proven time and time again to be unreliable. We've come for alterations several times, and in all but one case, the alterations were not ready at the agreed upon time. The work itself is good, but don't come here if you need something back by a certain time. Recently, we dropped off dry cleaning. On the pickup day (clearly discussed and written on the slip), the dry cleaning wasn't ready. When I eventually got back the clothes, they were full of lint and hair. Because the clothes were not that dirty to begin with, I can't tell if they were never cleaned, or picked up the dust after cleaning. Either we've had extremely bad luck (certainly possible), or the reliability here is terrible. Sometimes paper systems can work well, but it's definitely not working for us. read more

We gave her five days to alter a dress we bought and when we came back on the 5th day (last day) nothing we wanted was done at all very unacceptable especially for giving her the amount of time we agreed on. That day we came to pick up we voiced our concerns and she said to Come back in a few hours and then and only then what we wanted was done. (But you couldn't do that over 5 days?!) With that being said I highly don't recommend this place at all go somewhere you trust. On top of all of this mess she ruined a $600 dress and made changes that didn't need to be made that changed the whole shape of the dress and had the audacity to charge me $90 for work that was so subpar. I came here before for regular dry cleaning and was pleased with the results, so when I was invited to be a bridesmaid, I knew where to go! Lily was really nice and helpful with my dress to make sure the fit would look good for the event. I was very pleased to see the result! The length of it ended up perfect- not too short, but enough that it wouldn't drag on the floor- and the straps ended up being perfect for my shoulders! Did not alter my clothing on time. Then was not open when I tried to pick up the next morning. Had to wait for her to arrive. All this forgivable EXCEPT My alpaca sweater was completely shrunk and ruined. She tried to hide this by folding it on the hanger. Took my money and did not mention anything. I was excited to try a new dry cleaner that's not as close to home as some others, but had better reviews. I was even more excited when the hours were longer and they do 24 hour turns arounds, so I dropped my clothes off and was told to come back today at 5:00 PM. I immediately noticed that the place is an absolute mess with unfinished sowing jobs, pins, tickets, and trash all over, which caused me initial concern, but I decided to move forward anyway. When I arrived on time today, my clothes were being transferred from the owner's car into the shop, which means they still needed to be covered with plastic, so I had to wait for that to get done before paying. At this point, several other customers came in to which the owner tended to them postponing my work even longer, and even included a guy who needed to be fitted for his pants to be hemmed? This caused me to be there an extra 30 minutes past the time she told me for pick up. When the clothes were finally ready, I asked what the total was and what forms of payment are accepted. This is when she actually had me count my own items for accuracy to make sure they were all present. She then told me that she only excepts cash and check, to which I did not even know the total to come prepared to pay cash. It wasn't listed on the ticket provided the day before. When I said I only had a card, she responded "you can go to the liquor store right next-door and pull out cash." So, for a fee of $3.00, that's what I had to do. Nice lady, but needs customer service training and to get into the 21st century and open a PayPal or Venmo account! The hunt continues for the best dry cleaners in the area who can serve quickly, take cards, and not keep me waiting. read more

If I could give less then one star I would! Brought two pants to get cleaned and hemmed on Monday. I asked if I could get them by Friday afternoon since I would be leaving for a wedding Friday night. She said yes no problem. I went back Friday around 3:30 handed her my ticket and she looked at me like a deer with head lights. She informed me that she forgot about my pant, and if I could come back tomorrow. When I told her I was leaving for a wedding that night she told me to come back later at 6:00. I went back at 5:50 and she spent well over 10 minutes looking for me pants and receipt and wasn't even sure she had my pants until I grabbed them and looked at them myself. I have been using this establishment for over three years! I've asked her to alter pants from sides to length, shirts from taper to sleeves shortened. All my clothes must be altered for a neat and tailored fit. She does this and more. Occasionally she misses but honestly, I can take part of the blame as not staying sometimes to have her mark exactly what should be done. I continue to assume too much unfortunately. I try to never ask for anything rushed from anyone and her establishment included as she is so busy. I've lived around the world and can attest shes has whatever skills needed for my needs. I'm writing this in hopes others see her as a small, multi talented seamstress, but with a realistic attitude for too high of expectations on expeditious delivery... we all get busy and we all want to please. We all make mistakes and try our best. Went in for the first time to have my coat cleaned here and I went to pick it up, it was still filthy. Then they said they would clean it again and when I picked it up the second time, they guy said they tried to clean it again but it still didn't get cleaned so he didn't charge me. When I got home and took it out of the bag, there was still red tape inside the collar that I taped there to show where to clean when they sent it back for a second dry cleaning. THEY COMPLETELY LIED and DID NOT clean it a second time like they promised. I will NEVER come back here, nor should anyone else. Not to mention their shop is disgusting, filthy, piles of clothes everywhere, stinks and looks like a tornado went through it. Gross, gross, gross, never will I go there again. read more

Lily is the best. She is fast and charges a fair price. She bailed me out when another tailor messed up my alterations at the suit shop and my friends wedding was two days away. She also saved the day with my wife's wedding dress a couple years ago when the original alteration was done out of town and when the dress got to us, was four inches to tight. Wow, just wow! I simply cannot say enough great things about Lily. Not only did she get me my alterations a day early, she stayed late to finish them out of the goodness of her heart. (I was going out of the country for a trip I really needed them for!) I simply cannot thank her enough for sacrificing her time to get this finished for me! Now, let's talk about the alterations themselves. I have two pairs of hiking pants that I only wear on hiking trips, not general travel, because they are sorta dorky and baggy at the bottom. Lily is the nicest, most helpful woman you could go to for alterations. She is honest, and she does a fantastic job! I needed a dress hemmed, tightened on the waist, and I wanted two slips on each side. She accepted my dress with open arms. When she was finished my dress was perfect, fits like a glove, and she even returned it to me sooner then I had requested it. The work she did was flawless and I will wear the dress many more times.
