I often look at photos from my wedding day & that is what brought me here. The 1 star is for being on time. My photos are all ruined bc of how awful my dress looked. I showed my husband how my dress looked before it was altered, compared to how he saw it at my wedding & his jaw actually dropped! Wow these girls know what they're doing. In need of an alteration for a bridesmaids dress I was recommend to give this place a try by the friendly ladies over at Nordstrom. I arrived to find a small dry cleaner and entered with apprehension. Boy was I blown outta the water. Both ladies were so friendly and eager to assist me. As I tried on the dress she pinned here and tucked there and was asked to come back a week later. (Her fault not mine) we decided to do some additional alterations and she was ready for me to pick up my dress 3 days later (including a Sunday). I have to say i was impressed and the prices were fair. I would definitely feel comfortable bringing my finest threads here knowing that they will complete the work with the utmost care. Asked for a one day turn around, simple dry cleaning to get my pit stains out. Got it back the next day "only ironed", pit stains still there! I asked if they even dry cleaned them, got a snappy hostile response back stating they did clean it. Now using lemon juice to clean my uniform stains. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I came here for Anna (new location on La Mesa Blvd) based on a recommendation from where I bought my wedding dress. I brought my dress in for minor alterations and was scheduled to come back in 6 weeks. I got a text the night before that she had an emergency and had to cancel (fair enough). We rescheduled for a week and half later. My wedding was in less than two weeks at this point. I showed up and she acted like we didn't have an appointment and said to come back later that day. When I dug a little deeper, she admitted she hadn't started my alterations.. in which I was then even more concerned and stressed. I ended up coming back two more times that day, after she told me to come back and it would be ready - it wasn't and then again for a third time that day. She said the alterations were done on the third visit but I left with my dress knowing it did not fit correctly because I wasn't comfortable getting it fixed there with all of the unfulfilled commitments and lack of transparency. I came home and my fiance helped me look up new alterations places to call the following day. It was completely stressful, my wedding was in a week and a half at this point. I ended up finding a new alterations lady who said my dress did not fit my body at all, the waist was not on my waist, it was shortened too much for my height, and the back of my lace dress would be ruined if she did the alterations to tighten the waist (needed 2 inches in still.) I appreciated her honestly and she told me to get a plan B. At this point, I was devastated. All of this to say, I ended up having to buy a second brand new wedding dress because of this place. BEWARE, I would not trust this place or their timeline for your wedding dress. I would hate for this to happen to any other bride. read more

I took a silk-blend top out of storage. Because it smelled musty, I had sprayed it with Febreze, but that didn't help, so I took it to the Prestige Cleaners on La Mesa Boulevard in La Mesa. The place was an empty shell; nothing was operational. When I got the shirt back a few days later, it still smelled like Febreze, there were still stains on it, there were still hairs and bits of fluff on it that had been there before I took it in. In other words, NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE. They put a plastic bag over a dirty shirt and charged me almost eight dollars for it. When I mentioned that the place did not appear to be operational, the nasty woman --who refused to wear a Covid mask -- agreed with me, saying that the shirt had been "sent elsewhere". She made ridiculous excuses about not wanted to use cleaning materials with allergy-provoking scents. How absurd. Clothing comes back from the cleaners smelling like the cleaners. It never, never comes back still smelling dirty. She offered to have them "work on it some more", but I just wanted to get out of there. I will take the shirt to a real cleaners. This review is probably unnecessary since I doubt this rip-off operation will stay in business very long. read more

Needs Improvement. Look, they're pretty good. Never had a problem with the work they've done and they've been professional every time I've been in there. The problem? The way they handle their hours. PRESTIGE: -denoting something that arouses respect or admiration I do not respect nor admire their lack of timeliness! Many of the people who need dry cleaning are the ones who work the "9 to 5 schedule" -mine is more 8 to 5 but practically the same thing. I, along with the rest of nine to fivers, have a small window of time to drop off and pick up clothes in the morning. If you are supposed to open at 7:30 AM and are maybe 5 to 10 minutes late, I totally understand, life happens and usually it happens in the morning. I get it. But if you are consistently over 15 mins late... well, in a normal "prestigious" job, you'd be fired. I'm seriously one or two instances of tardiness away from "firing" these guys. I had been looking for a new dry cleaner in my area, as the one closest to my house had been getting more and more expensive. I was fortunate, thanks to Yelp, to find one close to my gym. I started by taking a few loads of dry cleaning periodically. They did a good job and saved me quite a bit of money compared to my usual place. Finally, I decided to get my wedding reception dress cleaned. I had already cleaned and preserved my formal wedding dress, but I also have a shorter reception dress, that I had worn for a couple of events after my wedding, and it had been sitting in a zippered wardrobe for almost 4 years. It was about time to get it cleaned and put away. I took it in, thinking it was a fairly simple job, but when I unzipped it to show the dress to the people at the cleaning shop, it looked completely ruined! It had smudges all over the front of the dress somewhere between the color of red wine and bronzing makeup. I was so confused as the dress had not been outside of the wardrobe, nor had I messed it up when I last wore it. The woman who worked there explained to me that sometimes a moth can get through a fabric wardrobe and pee on the fabric. I was devastated! They agreed to work on it and let me know. Apparently it took a while, as I didn't get a call back for a couple weeks, as most of the cleaning I sent there takes just a couple days. Anyway, yesterday I went to pick the dress up....and it is beautiful and good as new! So happy to be reunited with my reception dress. They did such a great job that I want to wear it again! Of course, after this experience, I definitely plan to continue to give them business. Do keep in mind that the little shopping center they are in gets really busy, and on weekend afternoons, parking is an exercise in frustration. I often use the one 10-minute spot set aside just for them. I also have had to drive through the lot a couple of times, waiting for someone to move. read more

I don't know anything about tailoring, but the owner (who also does alterations) was very kind and informative when I asked her what she thought the length should be and if a certain spot was too big/tight, etc... She explained what would be nice and how she would do it so that it'll fit me like a glove. She has many years of experience and I just knew I was in good hands. Upon check out, the cashier, Tan, was extremely friendly and really easy to make conversation with! Once you come back a few times, they start remembering your name and before you can put your clothes on the table, they'll already have your dry cleaning right in front of you! Tan and Anna aren't just your typical dry cleaners. They provide great service and are so hard working. They even remember what is going on in your life and really cares! Amazing place! Though I was a little annoyed to find out my bodysuit was untouched when I came to pick it up and ended up waiting a good 15 minutes for the seamstress to get snaps sewed in the bodysuit, I realized being a seamstress can be labor intensive and trying to please all rush orders is not a simple task. I brought one silk shirt in there on Wednesday. Asked if they could have it done by Friday. Asian lady said yes, it'll be done Friday morning. I returned Friday afternoon. My shirt wasn't done, nowhere on the premise. They don't dry clean there, they send them out. I didn't get my shirt back for a whole week! Plus, they charge about two dollars more per item than cleaners that clean on site. The two people there treated me like I needed to apologize to them. read more

Everyone here is extremely helpful. Anna, I believe is the owner and the main tailor, does the most excellent work. She is precise with all of her measurements and her work is perfect - when I say perfect, I mean that you cannot even tell that any alterations were performed. I trust them with any of my garments. She has altered many important pieces of clothing (wedding attire, game day jerseys, jeans, jackets, slacks) and every piece comes back with precision workmanship. The quality is definitely on par at this place. The service is genuine and the ladies who work here are super nice, a little soft spoken but they are very sweet. The only drawback (why I didn't give this place 5 stars) is the price. They aren't the cheapest but I appreciate that they provide quality service. I just got my pants taken in because I lost some weight. The unused product was flawless and you could not tell that any alterations had been done on the slacks. Wonderful place to get sewing repairs and alterations. I have a delicate bedspread that other places refused to work on but Ana figured out how to gather the broken seams and fix it. It is very valuable to me and I loved that she could rescue it from wear-and-tear. Also, I have pants that are made a stretchy material and would not stay up. I was thinking that it was an unusual problem, but she is familiar with this issue with some of the newer fabrics. She gathered the seam in a way that does not show, does not gap, and now the pants are a perfect fit. The work is high quality, and service is cheerful. This is a real find! read more
