Love the inside decorations - thought the plants on the ceiling were real at first. Sat at a table off to the side (not one of the booths) but it was still pretty comfortable. Starting off with drinks: I got the passion fruit sour since they're known for their pisco sour and variations on it. I really liked it, it wasn't too sweet and had a lot of froth from the egg whites. Someone with me ordered the chicha morada sour, but it turned out to be very sweet and not sour at all; worth noting as she doesn't like sweet cocktails. The staff were very accommodating about it; she ordered just a classic pisco sour and they comped it without us asking. We got the fried plantains and the chicharrones; they were good but not notably so. Fairly standard compared to other places where I've eaten similar items. However the chicken empanadas were incredible, maybe one of the best empanadas I've ever had. They are packed full of filling with not too much dough. The filling itself is moist - it's good and not dry at all even without the sauce it comes with. Finished off with the chocolate bandido, a lava cake. It was a nice gooey texture and good level of sweetness but I would have liked it a bit warmer. Overall a great place for a nicer dinner or a special occasion.

We cane here for dinner since they are always very busy. We didn't have a reservation but we were early enough (5:30) to get a table. We started with the fried cauliflower... they had a nice crunchy shell and the cauliflower was not mushy. My boy friend had the roast chicken and he thought was very good. Very flavorful and tender. I had the rib eye steak and love the seasoning and taste of the steak. It aiso came with chimichurri sauce that is very good. Overall a nice place to dine. I definitely would go back to try other items.

Arroz Con Mariscos aka Seafood Paella at Limon Mountain View

In the search for a local restaurant with paella, Limón came up as a possibility. A well-regarded Peruvian restaurant that I had not yet been to. There were a dozen people waiting outside to be seated. Indoors by the hostess stand, there was a line formed to check in. It was packed and loud. We requested an outdoor patio table. The waitress was friendly but it was difficult to get her attention at times because there were a lot of expectant tables. Even with a reservation, it took about 20 minutes before we were seated. The patio outside was a bit chilly with a cool breeze flowing down Castro as the evening began to set. The heat lamp wasn't doing much. In looking through the menu, the paella was called Arroz Con Mariscos, literally "rice with seafood". We also ordered the Lengua, three sauced strips of tender beef tongue draped over a bed of puréed potato. It was bursting with flavor and I savored each bite. I tried the Lychee Sour and the Bomba Del Amor, a sweet tropical vodka cocktail. The paella was top notch, crunchy pan roasted rice simmered with reduced broth served with prawns and clams in half shells. The Mixto Clásico Ceviche didn't leave much of an impression on me, to be honest. I could have done without it. I would like to come back to try dishes that are more traditional Peruvian, such as Lomo Soltado and Empanadas. The quality of the dishes is evident, but it gets very crowded so be prepared.

Trio ceviche (I'd get fish only next time)

One of the best ceviches I've ever had. I like really citrusy/limey ceviche and this was exactly that. We got the trio ganador (basically 3 types of ceviche) but we got the mixed version which added shrimp and squid for a total of $44 but honestly -- I would just get the fish only. The fish they used is red snapper and it was so fresh, so citrusy. My only complaint is that the chunks of fish are very large so I ended up cutting them into smaller chunks and then chucking the fish back into the bowls. -Lomo Saltado $34 (3.5/5) it tasted more like salt if anything. The beef was a little tough. The fries were cooked nicely though. Despite all of that, I wouldn't get this again because of the toughness of the beef. -Flat Iron Steak $34 (5/5) so good. Definitely would get this again especially with the mashed sweet potato and charred onion bulb on top. The chimichurri sauce was so fragrant and seasoned well. Especially for the price-- would get this over lomo saltado forsure. The steak was seasoned well and tender. Service was a little slow and it was tough to flag down any help, but overall the food makes up for it.

Went to Limon for the first time last week and was quite impressed by both the aesthetic and the food. We made a reservation for three on Memorial Day, and although it was very busy, we were seated quickly. The interior was gorgeous, it was the perfect balance of elegant and inviting. I would honestly come back just to sit at the bar. We started with drinks, and I tried a passion fruit pisco sour for the first time. It definitely packed a punch and was tart in the best way. We skipped the appetizers and went straight to our entrées. For my main course, I ordered the pollo saltado. The chicken was flavorful, and the soy sauce was very present without being overpowering. The only downside was that the fries weren't as crispy as I would have liked. If they had been, they would have added a much-needed contrast in texture. Overall, I'd give it a solid 7/10. The flavors were there, but it wasn't quite memorable enough to make me want to order it again. But I would definitely come back and try some of the other dishes on the menu.

This is a Peruvian spot in downtown Mountain View and it's so good! We sat at the bar and got a drinks and shared the following: Ceviche Limón ($36) - this was so beautiful and fresh Lomo Saltado ($34) - this was also really good! The interior is beautiful and stylish, and the staff are warm and friendly.

We had an excellent dining experience at Limón. The food was impeccable, as were the cocktails. It's a very lively restaurant, especially on the weekends. Everything we ordered was great. I can highly recommend the: pork belly fried rice, lomo saltado, ceviche, and the camarones. All excellent options.

We were seated outside as the restaurant was booked out for lunch when we visited. The wait staff were kind and helpful. The restaurant felt upscale without being inhospitable. Food was excellent, particularly the ceviches (we would go back just for that). Probably comparable to & a little more casual than La Mar in the city.

I'm officially hooked! Me and wife keep coming back ever since my sister kept talking about it. I've been knowing about Limon in SF for years but never tried it. I officially came last month and for Mother's Day last weekend and it was great. I love starting with the Pescado Clasico which is fresh red snapper in this milky broth. It's citrusy as well which provides more flavor. The Jalea is also a great starter: freshly fried shrimp, calamari, white fish, and yuca fries, served with their yuzu lemon aioli dipping sauce. This is a pretty big appetizer that is worth it. Just an FYI, they aren't stingy with their portions. They put a generous amount of seafood. For the main entrees, I really like the Arroz con mariscos which is basically their paella version. There is a nice amount of seafood which is a plus. The crispy pork belly chaufa is a fantastic choice and is my favorite pork belly/bacon fried rice. It's their house made fried rice with a generous amount of fried bacon bite and 4 slices of thick fried pork belly with sweet ginger infused oyster sauce. My wife really likes their flat iron steak served with creamy Yukon mashed potatoes. This entree is soo good. Overall, the food here is great! The cooks do an amazing job with timing and making sure food is arrived fresh and on time. The vibes is amazing, cocktails are on point, music is great! Not to mention, their service is phenomenal and very attentive.

One of my favorite spots to eat at is Limón. They serve amazing Peruvian cuisine and the food never disappoints. We started with the empanada sampler, then ordered the lomo saltado, Limón ceviche, and their kale salad. Everything was flavorful and came out fresh. One thing I always appreciate about this place is not just the quality of the food, but also the customer service. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The prices are a little on the higher side, but honestly, it's worth it every once in a while. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

The food and drinks were outstanding, and the menu offers a wonderful representation of Peruvian cuisine. The service was excellent from start to finish, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. Amazing modern yet classy atmosphere!

Checking out this atmosphere... for dinner hee

I've never had Peruvian food before!! Since my boyfriend's from New York, he's used to having different Latin foods besides Mexican, but apparently here in California we only have Mexican food?! I need to get to New York!! Hee I was surprised to find out none of their food had monosodium glutamate in it/MSG! That's great for me since I'm freaking allergic to it! The restaurant was pretty packed this Sunday night so we sat at the bar. At least we didn't have to wait to be seated. Lol. Ambience was very dark yet I somewhat felt like I was at a rainforest Café and felt like dancing!! The music was great, and there was definitely a good vibe of people!! I'd love to come back here with my girlfriend and get some cocktails!! The food was delicious and filling!! I had the Peruvian version of paella, which is arroz con mariscos and there were so many pieces of seafood. It was ridiculous!! I'm surprised that plate didn't cost more money!! My Boyfriend's plate: steak and Fritz was very tasty for him as well although he's very picky and said he liked the New York version better, but even the Italian food we had here doesn't compare to the Italian New York food we had. Lol something is just different about it?! Regardless, I would love to come back here again and try more plates and cocktails!!

As a speakeasy enthusiast myself I definitely agree to the fact that it is "hidden" but also it does kinda give corporate vibes a little bit - maybe we can say they "gentrified" the speakeasy experience which is honestly so funny for Palo Alto. But anyways I don't think a classification should stop you from visiting it. The food is actually surprisingly really good. We came with a pescatarian and honestly while the offerings for snacks were a bit slim, every option was really good. I feel like this was the first time where I understood the price even the the quantity is no where close to be desired. One shrimp is like $6 and I was like whoah. Drinks are interesting and different, everything on the menu from the bites to drinks have a little Japanese fusion or influence going on. We pretty much tried every small plate on the menu. Most of it was delicious, a couple were just meh (katsu was not anything special, not was the duck meatball). Other than that, and over all, would highly recommend this spot in general. Btw the bar is from the same proprietor as the restaurant Protégé (across the street). Fun little bar for some music and drinks, they even have a disco ball.

No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.

You could stumble upon it through Yelp (as we did), discover it while staying at the adjacent Treehouse Hotel, or simply hear about it through word of mouth. The parking situation is an interesting one. After turning into the driveway from Mathilda Avenue, you have two options: turn right for valet parking or left into the Google parking lot. There are plenty of spaces available, though parking there is technically at your own risk. The restaurant told us they had not heard of anyone being ticketed or towed. We first dined here shortly after it opened in 2025 and were immediately impressed by the beautiful grounds. The hotel's eco-conscious gift shop, housed in a glass greenhouse and featuring a colorful vintage VW Bug, is a charming touch. The short walk to the restaurant feels especially relaxing on a warm, sunny day. This has become one of our favorite places to bring friends or host girls' lunches. With three distinct seating options: the dining room, bar, and patio, there's an atmosphere to suit just about any occasion, whether you're dining as a couple or gathering with a larger group. I would recommend visiting during lunch or dinner service and skipping the in-between hours. During that time, only the bar area is open and the menu is more limited. To fully experience what Valley Goat has to offer, lunch or dinner is the way to go. Despite the name, the only goat dish on the menu at the time of this review is the Goat Empanadas. My friend was initially hesitant to order them, but David, our wonderful server, and I encouraged her to give them a try. She was glad she did. There was no gamey flavor whatsoever; the meat tasted more like beef, and the accompanying sauce was excellent. Chef and co-owner Stephanie Izard, winner of Season 4 of Top Chef and an Iron Chef title, owns a total of nine restaurants, primarily in the Chicago area, along with locations in Los Angeles and one at Orlando International Airport. Since we enjoy traveling for great food, we'll definitely be adding some of her other restaurants to our list.

Today I was happy with the food, more to that later. First off, this place is not so easy for me to find. The place was well decorated with hanging plants and gave a calm, peaceful, and open feeling. It feels great to be inside. It's also a good setting for business HH or gatherings. We started with the drinks, and I tried the Goat Gibson, thinking it must be their signature cocktail since it has their name on it. I don't like it at all. It's too savory for my palate. My Vietnamese coworker saw the ingredient list had fish sauce, and he took an interest in it. After having a few sips, he also didn't like it. The Blush Spritz was a lot more normal for a cocktail. Overall, we found the cocktails pricy for the size offered. They also ran out of Laughing Monk which was the only beer our coworkers were interested in. The food on the other hand was better. We had: -Goat empanadas: great bakery skills on the wrapping, fragrant and buttery -Crispy Quinoa + Tuna Poke Salad: fresh tuna, everyone loves the dressing -Roasted Asparagus: interesting presentation with flowers covering the asparagus. We had to dig in to find the asparagus but they tasted good and fresh. -Wood-fired Mary's chicken: half a chicken, the meat was juicy with few bones -Sticky Pork Shank: This is the best. It came with a whole knuckle-sized portion of meat on a bone. At first I was surprised that they didn't offer any serving knives but only a tong. Amazingly, the meat was so soft that the tong was the only tool we needed to break up the meat. Super soft and juicy meat with lettuce leaves on the side to mimic a Korean wrap. -Daily special of Hamachi Collar: not bad, but I prefer the Japanese hamachi kama way of cooking. This one is a big collar that had a lot of meat, but I felt like too much meat could easily make the cooking uneven. One thing we noticed though, is all 3 large plates have very similar salad on the side, all the same pickled onions. It would be good to have some differences among dishes. We also tried their Pandan Flan for dessert. I was expecting a green flan, so when a white flan appeared, it took me by surprise a bit. It did have the pandan taste once I spooned in. And the crispy rice was a pleasant addition to the dish. Lastly, onto service. We had to wait till the party was mostly there to be seated. But our waiter service was good. He gave us good suggestions and kept our water filled. Dirty dishes were also cleaned up timely. All in all we are satisfied with the meal. Some mentioned they would come back. With Google and other big companies around them, they are not short of business. Making a reservation is essential.

We were staying at this hotel and decided to have dinner at Broma…read more Skirt Steak - Nicely cooked with a flavorful chimichurri sauce that added a fresh balance. Sherry Braised Pork Shank - The meat was tender and easily pulled off the bone, and the polenta it came with was rich and perfectly creamy. Smoked Salmon & Caviar - A bit too salty for my taste, so this one didn't quite hit compared to the others. The meat dishes were definitely worth it, especially with the generous portions. Overall, a good dinner option if you're in the area or staying nearby -- not necessarily a destination spot, but an easy choice.

Unfortunately, we left regretting that decision. From the start, the experience felt unwelcoming when we were seated with our 3-year-old daughter. There was no single overtly disrespectful moment, but the overall tone and repeated small interactions made us feel like we were being judged for having a child with us. At one point, when our daughter accidentally dropped her fork while playing, the reaction we received came across as frustration, which added to that feeling. We understand not every restaurant is designed for young children, but Broma presents itself as a place for friends and family. Instead, we felt like we had to constantly manage and overcorrect normal toddler behavior, which created stress and took away from what should have been a special occasion. Because of that, we didn't feel comfortable raising concerns during the meal when the server checked in--we were more focused on getting through the experience without drawing additional attention. We were also offered an off-menu item without any mention of price. The menu we were given did not list the smash burger, so when I ordered a double, I had no context for the cost. The final price was a surprise, and we would have made a different decision with that information upfront. The food itself did not match the price point. The "smash burger" was not prepared in the style typically expected, and overall the meal felt underwhelming for the cost. Lastly, the billing was confusing. The paper receipt listed "gratuity," while the digital receipt labeled the same charge as a "service charge," making it unclear whether an additional tip was expected. That lack of clarity does not align with the level of transparency expected at this price point. We don't mind paying for a great experience, especially for meaningful occasions, but this visit did not meet that standard and ultimately left us regretting our choice to celebrate here.
