Beautiful day today. And finally tried Limon and loved it! Service was good and ambiance was beautiful. - Ceviche Limon this plate photographs beautifully. The dish had calamari, fish, Shrimp, squid, Conchita a la chalaca. It is a medley of items tou should definitely try! - Arroz con Mariscos a little heavy for lunch but I was dying to try this. A lil on the salty side but it was still good. Rice cooked perfectly, seafood wasn't overdone at all. If you look around there's a reason why its on every table! - Pollo a la Brasa or rotisserie chicken marinated in spices & herbs. I had a bite and it was moist and had lots of flavor. Got the half chicken and we were all able to share. - Pisco Sour loved this drink. They make piscos the rightcway fot sure - Smoked Old Fashioned smelled amazing as bellows of smoke dissipated into the air. I didn't order this drink but heard it was on point. - Espresso Martini perfect way to finish off dinner and to wake up after all the amazing food we ate! I dont know why it took me so long to try Limon but I will definitely be back very very soon!

Arroz Con Mariscos aka Seafood Paella at Limon Mountain View

In the search for a local restaurant with paella, Limón came up as a possibility. A well-regarded Peruvian restaurant that I had not yet been to. There were a dozen people waiting outside to be seated. Indoors by the hostess stand, there was a line formed to check in. It was packed and loud. We requested an outdoor patio table. The waitress was friendly but it was difficult to get her attention at times because there were a lot of expectant tables. Even with a reservation, it took about 20 minutes before we were seated. The patio outside was a bit chilly with a cool breeze flowing down Castro as the evening began to set. The heat lamp wasn't doing much. In looking through the menu, the paella was called Arroz Con Mariscos, literally "rice with seafood". We also ordered the Lengua, three sauced strips of tender beef tongue draped over a bed of puréed potato. It was bursting with flavor and I savored each bite. I tried the Lychee Sour and the Bomba Del Amor, a sweet tropical vodka cocktail. The paella was top notch, crunchy pan roasted rice simmered with reduced broth served with prawns and clams in half shells. The Mixto Clásico Ceviche didn't leave much of an impression on me, to be honest. I could have done without it. I would like to come back to try dishes that are more traditional Peruvian, such as Lomo Soltado and Empanadas. The quality of the dishes is evident, but it gets very crowded so be prepared.

Trio ceviche (I'd get fish only next time)

One of the best ceviches I've ever had. I like really citrusy/limey ceviche and this was exactly that. We got the trio ganador (basically 3 types of ceviche) but we got the mixed version which added shrimp and squid for a total of $44 but honestly -- I would just get the fish only. The fish they used is red snapper and it was so fresh, so citrusy. My only complaint is that the chunks of fish are very large so I ended up cutting them into smaller chunks and then chucking the fish back into the bowls. -Lomo Saltado $34 (3.5/5) it tasted more like salt if anything. The beef was a little tough. The fries were cooked nicely though. Despite all of that, I wouldn't get this again because of the toughness of the beef. -Flat Iron Steak $34 (5/5) so good. Definitely would get this again especially with the mashed sweet potato and charred onion bulb on top. The chimichurri sauce was so fragrant and seasoned well. Especially for the price-- would get this over lomo saltado forsure. The steak was seasoned well and tender. Service was a little slow and it was tough to flag down any help, but overall the food makes up for it.

Went to Limon for the first time last week and was quite impressed by both the aesthetic and the food. We made a reservation for three on Memorial Day, and although it was very busy, we were seated quickly. The interior was gorgeous, it was the perfect balance of elegant and inviting. I would honestly come back just to sit at the bar. We started with drinks, and I tried a passion fruit pisco sour for the first time. It definitely packed a punch and was tart in the best way. We skipped the appetizers and went straight to our entrées. For my main course, I ordered the pollo saltado. The chicken was flavorful, and the soy sauce was very present without being overpowering. The only downside was that the fries weren't as crispy as I would have liked. If they had been, they would have added a much-needed contrast in texture. Overall, I'd give it a solid 7/10. The flavors were there, but it wasn't quite memorable enough to make me want to order it again. But I would definitely come back and try some of the other dishes on the menu.

This is a Peruvian spot in downtown Mountain View and it's so good! We sat at the bar and got a drinks and shared the following: Ceviche Limón ($36) - this was so beautiful and fresh Lomo Saltado ($34) - this was also really good! The interior is beautiful and stylish, and the staff are warm and friendly.

We had an excellent dining experience at Limón. The food was impeccable, as were the cocktails. It's a very lively restaurant, especially on the weekends. Everything we ordered was great. I can highly recommend the: pork belly fried rice, lomo saltado, ceviche, and the camarones. All excellent options.

I'm officially hooked! Me and wife keep coming back ever since my sister kept talking about it. I've been knowing about Limon in SF for years but never tried it. I officially came last month and for Mother's Day last weekend and it was great. I love starting with the Pescado Clasico which is fresh red snapper in this milky broth. It's citrusy as well which provides more flavor. The Jalea is also a great starter: freshly fried shrimp, calamari, white fish, and yuca fries, served with their yuzu lemon aioli dipping sauce. This is a pretty big appetizer that is worth it. Just an FYI, they aren't stingy with their portions. They put a generous amount of seafood. For the main entrees, I really like the Arroz con mariscos which is basically their paella version. There is a nice amount of seafood which is a plus. The crispy pork belly chaufa is a fantastic choice and is my favorite pork belly/bacon fried rice. It's their house made fried rice with a generous amount of fried bacon bite and 4 slices of thick fried pork belly with sweet ginger infused oyster sauce. My wife really likes their flat iron steak served with creamy Yukon mashed potatoes. This entree is soo good. Overall, the food here is great! The cooks do an amazing job with timing and making sure food is arrived fresh and on time. The vibes is amazing, cocktails are on point, music is great! Not to mention, their service is phenomenal and very attentive.

One of my favorite spots to eat at is Limón. They serve amazing Peruvian cuisine and the food never disappoints. We started with the empanada sampler, then ordered the lomo saltado, Limón ceviche, and their kale salad. Everything was flavorful and came out fresh. One thing I always appreciate about this place is not just the quality of the food, but also the customer service. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The prices are a little on the higher side, but honestly, it's worth it every once in a while. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

I've never had Peruvian food before!! Since my boyfriend's from New York, he's used to having different Latin foods besides Mexican, but apparently here in California we only have Mexican food?! I need to get to New York!! Hee I was surprised to find out none of their food had monosodium glutamate in it/MSG! That's great for me since I'm freaking allergic to it! The restaurant was pretty packed this Sunday night so we sat at the bar. At least we didn't have to wait to be seated. Lol. Ambience was very dark yet I somewhat felt like I was at a rainforest Café and felt like dancing!! The music was great, and there was definitely a good vibe of people!! I'd love to come back here with my girlfriend and get some cocktails!! The food was delicious and filling!! I had the Peruvian version of paella, which is arroz con mariscos and there were so many pieces of seafood. It was ridiculous!! I'm surprised that plate didn't cost more money!! My Boyfriend's plate: steak and Fritz was very tasty for him as well although he's very picky and said he liked the New York version better, but even the Italian food we had here doesn't compare to the Italian New York food we had. Lol something is just different about it?! Regardless, I would love to come back here again and try more plates and cocktails!!

Went in with a party of 6, they were gracious enough to help hold our table as we were running late. We started with the ceviche mixto, lengua, octopus, and empanadas. For entrees, we got the pork belly fried rice, picante de mariscos, a whole chicken, and lomo saltado. The lengua, chicken, and pork belly were tender and flavored well - our group's favorites. However, we felt the portions were quite small, and there wasn't a lot to justify the price.

Nice atmosphere at the end of Castro Street in downtown Mountain View but we ended up waiting quite a while after ordering, which took away from the experience a bit. The chicken was on the dry side, and the octopus was just alright; I've definitely had bouncier, more tender versions elsewhere. That said, the arroz con mariscos really saved the day. Super creamy, packed with umami, and easily the standout dish. Overall a decent meal with a few highs and lows!

First time at this location and it was a great experience overall. The service and the food were both outstanding. Miguel, our server, took great care of us, very attentive and efficient throughout the whole time. For drinks, we ordered two pisco sours: the lychee pisco sour and the chicha morada pisco sour. Both were really good and well balanced. We started with the empanada sampler (chicken and beef), super tasty, with a great texture and flavorful filling. We also shared the ceviche trio, and I really liked it. Very fresh, citrusy, and well seasoned, exactly what you expect from a good ceviche. The ambiance was lively but still comfortable, perfect for a casual dinner with friends. Overall, everything was on point.

    Arroz Con Mariscos
    Alan L.

Love Limon! All the dishes are not just delicious, but beautifully plated. The Ceviche Limon is a pretty large portion and the fish very fresh. The tangy sauce goes so well with the ceviche, and the taro chips as an add-on is delicious too. The Lomo Saltado is a must-get. The beef is very tender, and goes very well with the onions and the sauce. The Arroz Con Mariscos is also very good - there's a lot of seafood to go with the rice. We would have liked the rice a bit more crispy on the bottom though, but it was good nonetheless. Definitely try a get a reservation though - if you don't go early enough, it's always packed and a long wait if you're walk in.

Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Because of that, we didn't feel comfortable raising concerns during the meal when the server checked in--we were more focused on getting through the experience without drawing additional attention. We were also offered an off-menu item without any mention of price. The menu we were given did not list the smash burger, so when I ordered a double, I had no context for the cost. The final price was a surprise, and we would have made a different decision with that information upfront. The food itself did not match the price point. The "smash burger" was not prepared in the style typically expected, and overall the meal felt underwhelming for the cost. Lastly, the billing was confusing. The paper receipt listed "gratuity," while the digital receipt labeled the same charge as a "service charge," making it unclear whether an additional tip was expected. That lack of clarity does not align with the level of transparency expected at this price point. We don't mind paying for a great experience, especially for meaningful occasions, but this visit did not meet that standard and ultimately left us regretting our choice to celebrate here.
