Good food...but overpriced. I used to come here at least once a week. However I must say I'm sick of being disappointed by the service and sadly don't think I will be coming back. Almost every time I order takeout the staff is too busy watching YouTube and flirting with each other (and music is too loud so hosts can't hear the audible order has been placed notification) to notice an online order has been placed. So when I arrive generally the food isn't ready because they didn't realize an order was placed and I have to sit there and wait for them to get my order together. Also last time I ordered the hostess had given my Grub hub pickup order (not delivery order-- PICKUP) to some random person who was dressed as a grub hub delivery guy. I get there to pickup and she tells me my food has already left with "some guy in a red hat". She tells me this in Spanish (of which I understand very little) so I ask to talk to the manager (hoping to speak to someone in English to address the issue) and she tells me the manager is not there. So not only could I not talk to somebody about it but they also offered no solution to the problem which they had created. Anyway she gave me the managers phone number (which I called and left a voicemail) and the manager never responded to me. Also-- big surprise-- the food never arrived at my house. There was Cold, Tasteless food. We ordered a pulpo anticuchero and It was very chewy. The lomo saltado was cold and hard. They served everyone else but no us water, we requested a glass of ice and the cup was dirty. Ceviches were chewy and flavorless. In the past I heard of this place, we'll know for people charging you double of your order and making lots of mistakes in their bill, only if you check you would notice that they are trying to take advantage of you. I was warned, I decide to experience it for myself. We attended a birthday party, the birthday person had reserve the table and pay for all the guest entrance. ($20 per person). In this ocasión every guest would have to pay for their own food and drinks. We arrived early to order food, we order appetizer and something to drink, after 11:00pm the band stared playing. The waitress were pushing very much for us to buy bottle service. When the waitress noticed that we were only going to order single drinks came to let us know we have to consume at least $50 per person. (Not even the birthday people knew there was such a ridicule rule). I was with a large group of friends and I was not drinking alcohol since I was going to drive. I order for my partner and myself. As you can see in the receipt they charge me $10.50 per soda. (Soda was served in a glass with no ice) They charge themselves 18% for service which is okay. My experience with this place is that they try to take advantage of you, and if you are drinking and not checking, you will for sure be robed. Food review: food was delicious, even though they got the order all wrong. Music: was great and fun. Ambiance: people got in a fight and security removed them and had to pepper spray them outside. Best Peruvian restaurant in Northern VA, and I have been to all Peruvian restaurants around the area such as Huascaran, La granja de oro, Revash, china chilcano, justas chicken, barra brava, etc. And they all suck, and their food is either way too condimented or taste bad. So, Don't mind those reviews that are less than 5 stars. Those people are just being petty, either complaining because service was slow- c'mon all businesses are facing employee shortage because no one wants to work, and even at 5 stars restaurants you have to wait for your food. Second, they complain that nobody spoke English, and thats just false, they do speak English, and even the menu is in English. Besides this is a Peruvian restaurant not an American restaurant. Food wise: top notch, clean, tasty, amazing presentation. Customer service: great, I was greeted warmly, my waiter always came to my table to make sure I didnt need anything. They have a very selective menu, the food is only ok. No worth it, at night they have a cover charge for men, as if people are not going to spend money inside. She didn't know anything about the food also. She back with the plate. The pulp was fried and smelled worst. I didn't eat it. The owner, a male, walked around our table many times, and he didn't ask any questions or apologize. The female owner disappear. The waiters didn't know anything about food or desserts, and nobody helped us. The restaurant was almost empty. A group of friends joins us. We ordered desserts cheesecake lucuma. It didn't taste lucuma at all. It tasted mixed flavors of the dirty refrigerator. It was a disaster. I paid the total amount of the bill. Omg! This is my favorite place on earth! my husband my four year old and my cousin and his wife came in on a Saturday. Customer service was good, the hostess and waiters seem young and training but they were very nice so we were of course understanding, we ordenered the causitas, aji de pollo, lomo saltado, ceviche, salchipapas.... Etc lol and EVERYTHING was sooooo delicious!!! My aji de pollo was to die for and the only aji de pollo i love is my mom's lol. My cousin and I were the two peruvians so we know the food well, his wife is Russian and my husband is from here and everybody adored their food. Even the white rice was A1. My little boy loved the music and entertainment. The owner came a few times to check on us and make sure we were enjoying our food. That meant a lot to us. 100000% recommended! read more

As a Peruvian myself I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. Well set up (they might offer live music on weekends), and with very well prepared, authentic dishes. Not cheap, but no Peruvian restaurant is (I don't include the famous Rotisserie Chicken on this) as the dishes are intricate, rich in ingredients and absolutely delicious, complex and different. It is no surprise that Peruvian cuisine has achieved a world class reputation everywhere. Deserved. read more

This place is a joke! I purchased a $40 worth of Peruvian Resto bar Fusion dining certificate from local flavor which expired 6/17/ 23. I recently had back surgery, so I gave it to my brothers who have been very helpful to me to use . They went in and tried to use it tonight and they said we no longer participate with this. They can't do that! It doesn't matter whether they're participating anymore, they were participating when I purchased it. Super embarrassed when my brother called and said they won't accept it. If they do this with an up-to-date current cerrificate worth $40 that expired on the 17th of this month, no telling what else they might be capable of doing to save money. Shame on you Lima de Veras. My husband (who is Peruvian) asked for Peruvian food for Fathers Day. We're we're going to go to Arlington but decided to try here instead. The minute we got out of the car you could hear the music from inside. I should of taken that as a hint to leave. But we went inside. The waitress couldn't even hear me when I told her how many. I had to use my fingers to show her. The music was so loud we asked if they could turn it down just a little. They told us no. You couldn't even have a conversation to the people at your table. It was so loud my children ages 13, 10, and 9 were complaining asking if we could leave. We order our food. The ceviche was okay. The sweet potato tasted like pure lime. As if it had been soaking in it. My kids ordered fried rice. And the portion was so small for $20. I could have gotten double the amount at a Chinese restaurant. I ordered the dish with duck. It was absolutely terrible. The duck was beyond dry, as if it has been cooked twice. The rice with the duck was gross. It tasted like Uncle Bens rice. The presentation of the food was pretty good but the taste wasn't. The only good thing was the picaronas. They were very good. There are NO free refills on soda such as coke or sprite. I did not go to the bathroom so I'm not sure how that was. I personally would not recommend this restaurant. read more

This place just opened just down the road from my house, been waiting sometime for this place to open, apparently it is doing its soft opening at this moment . Drove a whole hour just to try this restaurant out because I was really in the mood for Peruvian food and wanted to try someplace new. We got there at 6:26 PM. A woman approached us and said they were no longer serving food because they close at 7 & the kitchen was already closed. Excuse me? Maybe you should put up a sign stating the restaurant closes at 6:30 not 7! We didn't even have the option to take out food. Will not be back due to bad service. We had to pull out our extremely mediocre Spanish skills to speak with her but overall experience was great. Lamb shank and seafood pasta were our favorites. On July 28th, we went to celebrate Peru's independence day at Lima de Veras. We were a group of 13 people who have previously made a reservation for outdoor seating. This is the second and last time I am bringing my friends here, and here is why: 1) When we got there our table was not ready. The hostess told us that they getting it ready for us. After waiting 30 minutes, we reached out to the hostess again, and he said "oh your table has been ready for a while." No one came back to tell us this. 2) We asked for Chicanos. By the second round, we noticed that the drinks were watery. At that time the bartender tells us that they are out of pisco. We told the manager about it and the manager says, oh you have to make sure you tell us as this is happennning. So, no refunds. You just deal with it. 3) I noticed that my tab came as "full-price" for the Chicanos when in fact they were supposed to be 50% off until 7 pm. I asked the bartender twice to fix it and after waiting for more than 30 minutes, I just gave up. I also mentioned this to the manager, and he was like oh yeah you have to let us know as this is happening. Again, no refund no nothing. You just deal with it. 4) It started raining, so we take everything inside. We had to clean our plates off our table because there were no waiters. We kept consuming food and drink inside. It stopped raining and then we went outside. Well, the owner comes to our table with an attitude to tell us that for a group this size we have to consume at least $500. She never made sure what we had consumed so far, which we consumed more than that at that point. She also told us that we will have to go to the bar to put in our orders because there were short of waiters. We have NEVER been treated like this at a restaurant. Not even in Peru! We were appalled. 5) Some of the checks came in with the tip included and others did not, and they did not even tell us. 6) At some point I ordered two additional Chilcanos, my tab was $24, my friend ordered the same thing, and her tab was $32. 7) Most of the tabs we received were not itemized. It's really sad because I was really hoping that things would get better, but for the price that you charge for the food, we expect exceptional service. We will take our business elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately I have given this place 3 tries and tonight was my last one. The food is decent however overpriced for what you get. The one thing that was very disappointing was their service. The waitress was overworked and unfortunately couldn't keep up with the amount of tables she had tonight. Management was no where to be seen for the 2 hours we were there. It took that long to get our drinks and our meals. Tonight wasn't the first time the service lacked of quality, it has been like that all 3 times. Sounds like my experience was the same as everyone else's. Great food, but crap service. I was with 3 others tonight for a late Mother's Day celebration. While our waiter certainly knew the dishes and could explain them well, he lacked some basic skills. We were seated and our waiter eventually came over with menus. We ordered drinks (mainly waters) and I suppose it's not common knowledge to ask if we would like more to drink when the glass is empty. Then our food arrived, and again we had to ask for silverware so we could eat. He seemed far to interested in flirting with the waitresses working tonight to handle his three tables tonight. The food is amazing and I hope the staff improves on their training practices with the wait staff. read more
