We have always had wonderful experiences at Lima, as the food is great and the prices are affordable in comparison to other Peruvian restaurants in the Portland area. We would always get almost the same food items. Late though, as the restaurant's popularity has increased, it has gone down the same avenue as every restaurant in the area that gains some momentum. They are increasing their prices considerably..then restaurateurs wonder why restaurants close down so much. read more

I have had peruvian food a few times in the last 15years. By no means, im a conossiur. But i couldnt quite decide if i had liked enough to give it a 4 stars. First, i started out with the fried plantains. They didnt taste that ripe. Lacked flavor. i love me some good plantains. (Lived on them during my vacy in costa rica). Then ordered the variety seafood ceviche. Squids, octopus, and shrimp were oh so just perfectly cooked, but the overpowering of the citrus sauce was a tad too much. Next time, either i will ask the sauce on the side or 1/2 as much. Finished off with pescado (fish with the macho creamy sauce) came with a side of rice. The presentation was ever so beautiful. I wanted to devour whole thing in one big gulp. But the taste didnt quite measure up. It was just ok. I dont know where i went wrong here. I think i will give it another chance before i completely lose enthusiasm. read more

Never had Peruvian food before, so I don't know if their dishes are typical Peruvian but everything was great. I had the Saltado de pollo which was very tender and flavorful! Expectations were high as I came here based on a review that compared it to Andina. Not accurate. Complete opposite. Really disappointed as it was going to be a nice night out. The photos look great it's hard to believe. The texture of the steak was so weird. The $11 yuca fries were in a bland sauce - at Andina that would have bought amazing food with rich, flavorful sauces. Have no idea how this is rated so highly. I have lost faith in Yelp. read more

Finally peruvian food that is tasty and plentyful, tried the Lomo saltado, fried yuca, ceviche de pescado, aji de gallina and Bistec a lo pobre. Plates are big so be aware, sharing is an option if you don't have a big apetite. They have peruvian soda ( Inka Cola). The food is great every time we eat here. Today we tried the Anticuchos de corazón de Rez with boiled corn and potatoes. The boiled potatoes were finished on the grill which imparted an incredible flavor. After the meal, the staff graciously worked with us to allow us to purchase a pound of potatoes cooked this way which we plan to take home and use in potato salad for the Fourth of July. My wife never eats ANY fish or seafood type food and loves the choices here but today she couldn't stop eating my Pescado a Lo Macho a La Crema. The cream sauce was excellent, and the fish, completely smothered, still had an amazing crunchy breading that was the tastiest I've ever had. Great people making great food. Second time here. Ceviche was great. Ordered the half rotisserie chicken as my entree. It was very dry. I only ate a small portion and let both servers know. I was told "I'll let the chef know". There was no offer of taking even half the entree price off. I will not return. A $6.00 off my bill would have had us give it another try. Their loss. Everything we ordered was delicious. The lomo saltado was sooo good, beef was very tender. And the seafood paella and the seafood a macho in crema was also so yummy! We went on Mother's Day so it was very busy with only 2 servers, however, wait wasn't too bad and their servers were very sweet and accommodating. So glad there's a good Peruvian place in Beaverton. Hidden at the edge of a strip mall in Beaverton this small restaurant was a find. The food was excellent and arrived quickly once we made our selection from a large menu. The pescado a la macho and pescado saltado were great - wonderful flavor and good variety and amount of fish. Lomo Saltado was very good. Had fun trying Inca cola - tastes like cream soda. Sooooooo... okay. This corner in Beaverton... Allen and Lombard... this corner is a hint at what is happening to Portland. It's gone largely unnoticed by us native/long-time residents of this once beautiful and quirky city. While we were bitching about people that we didn't recognize standing in lines on 46 degree rainy days for some stupid ice cream made with salted cow sperm and yiddish oregano... while people, drawn here for tech jobs and green spaces stood in line for a meh donut shaped like a penis in a pink box as though a 12 year brother and sister team had found their way into an excess of dough and carboard... while our rents were tripling and the price of our coffee went from $.35 at Quality Pie to $4.25 everywhere... there was something good happening and I think we just didn't notice. People that we want to move here were moving here. People that could bring us more than vegetarian pizza and hippy sandwiches with tea leaves and sunflowers in them were streaming into the area. While our best restaurants were being ripped down to promote progress and the rest of them were being bought by restaurant conglomerates who would perfect a process that was best for their bottom line but not their chef's creations, there were people moving here from all over the world. They settled in and drove all the californians around or cut their damn shrubs or mowed their lawns or served them burgers or whatever they had to do... and some of those people saved their money and they opened up stores and restaurants that serve the people that would never stand in those stupid ass lines for some $6 cup of ice cream. Those people eat at Red Robin and Olive Garden and that disgusting cheesecake place that has pooped up all over the world. Instead they opened up restaurants that would serve the people that we actually want here. On three corners of this intersection, there is a Peruvian restaurant, an Iraqi bakery, a Mexican super mercado with a bakery and "deli" inside, a real cantina around the corner. There it is.... the barter that has been executed on us for the growth we have endured. On this day I am headed to Lima... the Peruvian restaurant on the SW corner of this junction. I am greeted by a lovely woman who brings me two sauces - one very green and one beautifully orange. She brings nothing else... just sauces. I order a Peruvian beer and ask, "what am I supposed to do with these sauces?". She looks at me as though I had just asked how to drink a glass of water and responded with "you put it on bread, on rice... you put it on everything!" And then she brought me bread... she pointed to her favorite dishes on the extensive menu and taking her advice, I ordered the Arroz Con Mariscos (Peruvian Paella). Holy Balls of Satan!! It was beautiful in every way. The seafood was fresh. The shrimp, the squid, the mussels, the clams, the octopus, everything was cooked perfectly. I will definitely be here again and again. I want to eat every single thing they make. I want to go to every one of these establishments on this corner and spend every penny I make thanking them for moving to our city... I want to apologize that they had to move to Beaverton because the 23 year old trust fund kids and the 28 year old San Francisco start up jerks drove the price of homes up so high that our city center is becoming the burbs and our burbs are becoming the cultural center of our city. That's what's happening. I am going to try to stop fighting it and I am going to embrace it. I will eat at the restaurants on the outskirts of town.. .where the food is good and well-deserved profit from making good food goes to families and not corporations! Thank you Lima! read more

The place was packed and we got the last table. Because of this we waited a bit longer for our food than I would've liked but food was very tasty and service was good. Having a Peruvian restaurant pop up in Beaverton is a BLESSING. So long are the days of driving to Gresham for under-cooked, tasteless meat they call Peruvian food. As a Peruvian via my father's side, I can rightfully say that this restaurant is one of the best places in the Pacific Northwest to get quality Peruvian food outside of the nation itself - ESPECIALLY Pollo a la brasa (similar to rotisserie chicken). Used to go to a Peruvian restaurant in Los Angeles and really missed it after moving to PDX. Have tried a few others but this was our first time at Lima. Wow is it amazing. We had Peruvian Paella and the half rotisserie chicken, as well as a flan for dessert. The quality and quantity cannot be beat and it is a great value for the price. The chicken was both crispy outside and tender and juicy inside and flavor 100%. Love the green chile sauce which they refilled free on request. Fries were crispy and super hot and fresh. Salad was salad. :-) I took home half the chicken and fries. The paella was huge, packed with seafood, including scallops! And husband loved it and also brought some home. Could be a 2 person meal. Flan flavorful and clearly homemade. Very sweet somewhat quiet servers. I hate to recommend it because it is small and we had a short wait to get a table on a Friday night, but IT IS GREAT. read more

I loved this place!!! It's pretty far from where I live, but very worth the drive because the food was amazing and the staff was so wonderful. I had their purple traditional drink from Peru and they have the option of having a pitcher, very worth it and the serving is large! All the food looked amazing, but as a vegan I was concerned that they didn't have any options. However, what sets this place apart is their wonderful service. We had a young man as our waiter and he was so kind to point out all the ingredients (like in their complimentary sauces) as being vegetarian and not vegan. I was able to complete my meal with side dishes with white rice, plantains, and a red onion sauce. This spot definitely didn't disappoint, our family was impressed and we will definitely all return! read more

I was traveling with family. I went there because I was impressed with the star rating. Three of us arrived at the location, we found a small restaurant with gate around it in a not so impressive building. Three of us went in. We saw the sizes of the dishes were fairly large. We ordered 2 to share. Ordered beef spaghetti and a seafood dishes. Both were wonderful. The seafood dish looked great. The squid was tender and not overcook. The favor was light but complex. The spaghetti did not look impressive when it was served. It looked like stir-fried spaghetti found in some Chinese cafe. My first bit told me I was wrong. It had so many favor level it it, I was blown away. It had the need favor and herb infused into the spaghetti and not greasy all. It was simple but wonderful dish. read more
