He approached our project with enthusiasm and an open mind, and frequently consulted with us during the design to perfect the layout and ensure we were happy with it. Most importantly, he came up with an outstanding design for a very limited space and our limited budget. He was flexible with the idea that we would not be able to pay for the entire kitchen at once, and accounted for a staged construction into the design. When we had the contractor in to knock down walls, some tricky construction problems came up, and Pete was there to assist in their resolution. With the kitchen done, we are keeping him on retainer to help us redesign and remodel the rest of our house, a process that may take many years! As shown in the attached photos, the flooring was improperly installed--specifically, no moisture barrier was placed over the concrete subfloor. As a result, the planks are now lifting and coming apart throughout my entire downstairs, after only four years. When I reached out to the company, they attempted to blame normal mopping as the cause. That explanation is unreasonable--floors are meant to be cleaned, and we clean both our upstairs and downstairs the same way. The issue is isolated to the downstairs only, which further points to a clear installation problem, not maintenance. We sought an independent contractor's opinion, who confirmed that concrete can release moisture and chemicals, and that a proper moisture barrier should have been installed to prevent exactly this type of damage. This was not done. Overall, the company has been unhelpful and unwilling to take responsibility for what appears to be a clear installation failure. Think twice before using them.
