More 70s, you die. They serve tsoureki for bread, which is unexpected but nice. Its sweetness an odd pairing with olives, but I missed it at Easter and was glad to have it. I didn't delve extensively into their menu, Greek or otherwise, as I wasn't all that hungry. The augolemono hit the spot. The horiatiki was not the best ever, but adequate. In any case, I expect to be back because the place is so cool. please let people know you sell imatation scallops. nasty... med rare steak was dry and medium.. spaghetti sauce was like chef boy r de no garlic on bread for spaghetti no bread or rolls with dinner salad was nothinfg more then a bowl of lettuce. I left a whole steak and all the scallops there . I thought for sure waiter would of asked if my food was ok. If husband wasn't there I would have returned my food. his steak was hugh and cooked med rare. just no flavor until he added the A1sauce. daughter and son in law had the pasta... they messed up and added mushrooms on top of the pasta. nobody ordered and the charge was extra.. daughter sent hers back.. bad experience for all 4 of us. never again... the waiter was good.. After reading the reviews with an overall score of 4.5, I was very surprised. This was absolutely the WORST dinner we've ever eaten at a restaurant. Ever. My daughter ordered the lamb shank. It looks like it had been dehydrated, not braised. She took one bite and said, this is off. I don't want it. It was spoiled! My husband ordered veal Parmesan. It was a cheap veal patty! And the sauce tasted like chili! I've heard some areas in Ohio do that, but it wasn't described as such in the menu. I ordered the Greek platter. The salad dressing was very good. The fresh in house baked bread was outstanding. The sampler was meh. My advise: STEER CLEAR! And they didn't remove her meal from the check! read more

Don't judge a book by it's cover! Very dated inside and out, but the food is great! We have been eating at Linardos since 1990. The food is always delicious, priced right, hot, and unique. Service is generally good, and I can overlook a no- so-good time or two for the reasons mentioned above. Bottom line: If you are impressed by flash, Linardos isn't your place. I eat here all the time and, since it is consistent, this is my review. I lvoe the place and its old school decor and colors. There are not TV's which is a must for me as I do not like distractions while eating. The fact that the two waitresses have been here for a LONG time, proves that they are happy employees. Harry, the front of house manager, is very friendly and helpful. I always have Greek or Italian meals as that is what they do best. I often see complaints from people about a steak or some other meal they did nto like. Being pescatarian limits me, but there is plenty for me to choose. The prices are way too low in my opinion as my favorite wine costs $4.95. Beer is even less. The entree prices are low as well. One big attraction here is the homemade desserts. I usually have baklava, but there are usually about 10 items to choose from and they always bring out a platter with them to show you. I usually have either the eggplant parm or the Mediterranean pasta and they come with sweet Greek bread and a Syrian salad. The Greek salad is also great. I will continue to come here as often as possible. read more

This restaurant has been in our town forever. Have driven past it many times commenting to my husband we should stop and try it but, would always forget about it when choosing where to eat. We looked up the menu and seen an extensive menu of Greek dishes. Seafood, pasta, and steaks. We finally got to try it and was not disappointed. Walking in it gives you a vibe of the 70's. Where you'd probably see Mafia guys in suits sitting around the tables. Not a speck of dust anywhere. Everything shined. (And I really looked for dust) This place is very well cared for. We both got Greek dishes and oysters as an appetizer. My husband the Chicken Kiev and I got the combination of Greek dishes. We were not disappointed. The food was great, very friendly, and timely service from the waitress. The prices were lower then we expected. The only thing I didn't like was the paper placemats. They were something I'd expect in a place like waffle house. Table cloths and linen napkins would be more appropriate for this place. I don't know the kind of business they are receiving but, as we were the only diners and seen 2 carry outs while we were there, I believe they could use some community support. read more

This place is cool. in an old - retro - grandma might like this place cool. Well, if you are from Columbus and you know The Top or you remember The Bexley Monk or the Jai Lai or maybe The Pine Club or the original Neil's Heritage House in Dayton and you love that retro, take you back to a simpler classy time, where good music meant Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr., then you will want to come here. It's done in an old school Mediterranean style that I you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere else. Dark wood, leather seats, captain's chairs to sit in, stained glass, Moorish light fixtures. It's nothing like what you will ever see in a contemporary restaurant, period. It's all about comfort and relaxing while you do dinner. It's dining, not just eating out. It's old but it's not worn out. And the food? Well, I had the chicken marsala, which came with a small side of spaghetti, a salad and some warm honey wheat bread with real butter. The butter was the old school style with the cardboard paper on the bottom and the thin one on the top. Real butter, no margarine here. A really nice sized salad came out first. Everything fresh and very appetizing. The wine was only $4.75 a glass for William Hill Cabernet....a deal. There are things you will find here that are hard to find anywhere else. Frog Legs, Sweet Breads, Beef Liver, Bison steaks etc. There's also an impressive selection of surf and turf combinations to choose from. Like Greek food? Like Italian? The menu is extensive folks. You could eat here for probably two months without ever repeating yourself. Prices are befitting an upscale casual restaurant. It's a dress up a bit type of place. I truly WISH that I could be more forgiving/generous tonight, but this place reminds me of a terminal patient who's "plug" has been pulled, but somehow manages to continue shallowly breathing for a while before heaving that one last, dying gasp. I've been here before, and liked it well enough. Maybe it's slipped, or maybe I have... I like "off the beaten path," non-chains, but the holes in the wall HAVE to be good and at least ATTEMPTING to still give it a try. You shouldn't have to leave a restaurant feeling sorry for it, the overly cheerful server, and even the lost in another time/better place owners. I don't care about the dated, delightfully tacky, 70's style decor, the overly lit dining room, or any of the other "cosmetics" that might turn others off. I just wanted good Greek food, and I didn't get it. My moussaka tasted old, sad, and repeatedly reheated. The spanakopita was passable, but also older tasting/looking. I squandered a rare venture away from Mr. M&P's comfort zone on barely mediocre food that I'm pretty sure I could have made better myself... There's more to try here (Italian might be a better choice, Greek, all American...) if you're feeling charitable. If your ancient relatives are here in town and miss the glory days (?!?) at their old favorite "house of bland," then I guess there are worse choices, but not here, not us, not any more... What a great surprise! My wife and I went there for the first time. If you want to dine out this is for you. If you want to yell your order into a clown's face and get a bag of food from a heat lamp, this is not for you. Everything we ordered from appetizing to desert was freshly made to order. The meals were very tasty and appropriately seasoned. My wife ordered Greek food and I ordered Italian and we were both pleased. The price? Very reasonable. "If the paint is peeling on the outside, don't go in." This is my husband and mine new rule for trying a new restaurant. Taking a road trip to Springfield, Ohio, we decided to try someplace new for lunch. BIG mistake!! If the outside of Linardos looked neglected, the inside looked downright discarded as though no one cares. That ambiance translated to the food...Greek Salad minus olives and a French Dip I had to send back. (Something I never ever do!) Did I mention it took an hour to get our food? I love how they have intentionally kept the place as original as possible, it shows they have stayed true to their roots and not gone crazy with the "fads". Wow. This is the worst meal that I have ever had. So bad I had to write about it after years of lurking on yelp. We should have known better as we walked into the foyer that smelled like an old lady's sock drawer. Eau de doilies is not a good sign. There was no wait on a Friday night. We started off with appetizers that were mediocre but edible. They gave us a cinnamon tinged pepperidge farm-like bread which wasn't terrible. I'm still belching up the salad. The croutons were like hard over-fried donuts. Nothing was awful yet... We waited an hour in an empty restaurant for our next course. The entrees were spectacularly bad. The food tasted like a cinnamon truck ran into the kitchen. My lamb tasted gamy and had a cinnamon spaghetti sauce on it. We got chicken Kiev that was a deep, dark fried mass with raw chicken in the middle. One of the dishes in what I can only imagine was a "cinnamon combo platter," resembled cinnamon Chef Boyardee. My sister's chicken Marsala was sour and the sauce tasted old but didn't taste like cinnamon. I am not opposed to sending meals back, but really there was nothing here they could have fed us that would have been acceptable. I'm surprised this place is open at all. Gross. read more

In the last two weeks we have eaten here at lunch twice and dinner once. The food was hot and flavors were good. Service was excellent. The Greek beer was fabulous! What really makes me happy about Linardos is that it is very clean and Covid safe. We are super careful about Covid and really haven't gone to restaurants in the last year because of close quarters. Nice place overall not as amazing as some if the other reviews portray. Salads were ok average price per plate was over 13 dollars. Service was good and the food was so-so. The gyro meat had a good flavor, but was a little dry and needed the sauce. Spanikopita was bland and needed more cheese. The Chicken Marsala was decent with the chicken being cooked just right, but the sauce tasted too much like the wine. The pasta was a little too al dente. Business was very slow so I would expect the flavors to be better and the food to be fresher. Overall, the food was decent and the service was good. Not sure it was really worth the price per plate. To the owners I would recommend a little updating such as the 1970s lighting to bring it into this time. read more

Having flown in from So Cal for my nephews wedding, the family and I wanted to venture out and enjoy some local dinning. We asked an employee at our bed-and-breakfast, if you wanted a great meal, where would you eat? Without skipping a beat she replied Linardos! It's only 20 mins away, and this place is great!! My wife, and adult son, wanted a bowl of Avgolemono (lemon chicken) soup like my mom use to make. So off we went. The owner Harry, greeted us with a smile as he seated us and made us feel welcome. We informed him that we had eaten at a "fake Greek restaurant" in Columbus, and the meal was disappointing. He responded "we will not disappoint you". And he was correct. The entire meal was fantastic!! My wife and son started off with the Avgolemono soup, while I had the fresh beef and noodle soup. We were so impressed with the soup, we ordered Greek Salads, followed by Gyros, and Pastitsio. That was equally delightful!! Unable to eat another bite, we ordered a number of "homemade" Greek pastries to go. Back at our bed-and-breakfast, we told the rest of the famly of our incredable journey to Springfield. We shared our tasty pastries with our family members and they raved about how great they tasted. In fact, they were so impressed by the pastries they made a special trip to Linardos the very next day. If you are lucky enough to live in the area, you should make this a twice monthly eating experience!! You won't be disapointed!! read more

This place is awesome! If you want authentic Greek food prepared well, this is the place to go. Though very retro 70's, it's quite the experience. Proudly family owned, it's a place with a lot of heart. Delicious and memorable, with very reasonable wine prices. We lived in Springfield for many years and were regular customers. Holy crap this place is amazing! I just got done eating there with my boyfriend for the first time ever and I will be going back soon. I was shocked how dead it was. Stick with the Greek items. Yes, the place is a bit dated (LOL!), but that makes it kind of interesting (like 1975'sh). I would like to see some udates to the decor, but that might not be in the budget. Give it a try. It's very unique for springfield. read more

I really do not like to give bad reviews, but the food here is not very good. The decor is nice, but the men's restroom left a bit to be desired. As for the food, I got the lasagna and found it to be inedible. There was a weird taste that seemed to come from the beef. As I'm typing this review an hour and a half later, I'm not experiencing any stomach cramping, so I don't think the beef was "bad". Apparently, it was supposed to taste that way. The person I was with got the chicken parmesan; it was passable, but it came with a side of spaghetti that also had more of the beef mixed into the sauce, so that was inedible as well. The bread that came with the meal tasted like it had cinnamon in it. Also got an appetizer, but I can't remember what it was called; it was feta cheese wrapped in a filo dough. It was really rich and not particularly tasty. The waitress did ask if everything was ok, but not being one to complain, I said it was fine, so that one is on me. We stopped at Arby's after we left there and the food was wonderful, so it all worked out in the end. read more
