On our road trip to Southern Oregon, we stopped at Linda Did It Deli in Florence. What a find! Kind of the last stop off 101 North, on the right side of the highway, you'll find the deli situated behind the Thrift shop. Healthy portions, delicious food, and an affable waitress who proudly wore a sweatshirt with a screen printed slogan that stated, "I'm the crazy waitress they warned you about.". She was delightful. They stop serving breakfast at 11:00 am. We arrived close to 1:00 pm and ate lunch. My French Dip was delicious and the homeThe place honors Veterans with ceramic tiles covering the walls, each tile depicting a Veteran's name and their years of service. This Deli was good and had most of the food made from scratch, but it closed in early April 2026. We will miss it.

Had a delicious breakfast here while waiting for my laundry next door. An old timer, who was a regular was sitting two seats away highly recommended the haystack and I got that, and it was spectacular. The gal serving me, who was the owner I'm sure, was super nice too, and was being joshed by the old timer (they went back and forth jokingly a few times). The highlight, besides the delicious meal was talking to the guy, who shared some graet stories and talked about how he'd been a long haul truck driver for 41 years and only used the runaway ramp one time near a tough road outside L.A. (I mentioned the runaway ramps and what a tough job that is, but how amazing it is that truckers are so skilled and how you never see them in accidents or swerving-such dedication to their craft and that's when he mentioned only using the ramp once). He also talked about classic cars in general, like a Datsun that got up to 150 m.p.h. In 4th gear! It had 5 gears lol. Also he talked about a MAC logging truck a buddy of his had that never touched asphalt and went over 3 million miles with the original engine, and he had a similar truck that he drove over 2 million miles! That conversation came about because I was telling him how much I love my base model 4 cylinder Toyota Highlander, and even though it just crested 232,000 miles, still drives like it is brand new, and how I bring it in whenever I detect any kind of off sound, and that's when he went into the stories about reliable vehicles he has owned and in general, and also learned a ton about fixing vehicles that I didn't know of. These conversations are why I love small towns and diners that have been around for a while' - you have these types of conversations with salt of the earth people, and the also talked about how they are making cars too complicated nowadays and I mentioned how that's much like people nowadays. Just felt blessed to talk to another fellow person that is part of the greatest generation, and is so genuine and knowledgable and kind. read more

We spent our second visit there today and we're residents. We were forced to select from a limited menu because they had BBQ'ed chicken and brisket we couldn't order of whatever regular menu they had. Even though they were selling burgers I couldn't have the patty melt I craved because it wasn't on their limited menu. Because of the stupid rhododendron days, I'm an avid motorcyclist all my life (over 50 years) but all laws are off this weekend) apparently. All we heard were illegally open mufflers where we live, all day long. Clearly compensating for their alleged malehood. Pathetic. Back to Linda's. My ruben was good but not the best. My partner's cheeseburger was garbage. The meat tasted old, like it had been out on the counter for 2 days. The bun was soaking wet on the bottom when it first arrived at the table. They gave us another bun but it didn't help the foul taste of the meat itself. And no fries available? They don't offer them. WTF? There were no menus, just little grease boards. Service was slow and disappointing. It was 5 minutes after we finished before I finally had enough and went up to the counter to pay. It was 2:30 in the afternoon so not exactly rush hour. We went there to support our local businesses but this was very disappointing. Will not go back. Sorry Linda, we want to support you but it just wasn't there today. read more

Simple delicious sandwiches. The Ruben is my favorite with a side of macaroni or potato salad, both salads are delicious just like Mom made. Desserts are home made, grab one to go for later. I don't eat breakfast but my husband says they are very good. Do not go to Linda's if you want an upscale experience. But if you want a deli that serves simple, delicious, inexpensive food with a friendly warm staff, don't pass Linda's Deli without stopping. We tried Linda Did It back when they first opened, and the food was very good, but they were still just a little disoriented and getting used to their flow of things. However, I'm so glad we went back a few months later (today) Our hot sandwiches were excellent! We will definitely return. I'm so happy to have such good food right around the corner from my home! Portions were more than generous and they came with sides (we chose potato salad which was very good) Everything looked like it was carefully done and not at all slapped together. A wonderful new choice in town for breakfast and lunch. Linda Did It has indeed done it! We had the burgers previously, hand patted and paired with either potato or macaroni salad. Everything is homemade and delicious! Today's biscuits and gravy was perfect-plenty of sausage in the gravy over a large fluffy biscuit and just a tinge spicy! We really enjoyed eating here. Everything was delicious, and we loved the patriotic decor. Jessica did a great job serving AND cooking and attending to everyone. The potato salad was fabulous, and I enjoyed my patty melt, and my husband enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger. So most of you all know I moved out of state and am enjoying getting to know the new area by the way of food. So I went for a drive today and stopped at a little red white and blue decorated deli. Boy I was greeted when walking in and told about the specials and the friendly smiles was a great feeling. I didn't go for the special which sounded good Malibu Chicken. I decided on the club which is one of my favorites. The bacon was awesome and the bread was toasted to just right. I heard that they make all their salads. I went with chips,no drink. The price appears the normal going cost for this large of a sandwich. So if you should be in the area of Florence Oregon stop in the French dip looked good as well. There is breakfast and coffee,especially espressos. PSA they have a wall of Veterans building out ask about how you can get yours or a veteran you may know up there. Ice cream was very old and out of date, I'm not sure how old ice cream has to go before it tastes stale but it was long past its good date.

This morning (9-30) we came to Linda did it, expecting great results! BUT our waitress (?) was scary! Haggard and grouchy, and even possibly on drugs? The food was good, but u could feel the tension in the whole restaurant. I never do this review thing because sometimes people have bad days, but this being our 2nd and last visit, because if u don't care who represents your brand, than something is wrong with the inner workings of the business. 2nd. Food kept coming in and out thru the back door? NO idea what that was all about. I will not be posting any more reviews, but a heads up, if u walk in to Did It cafe, and a scary old woman (you'll know) try's to wait in you, RUN. A coworker brought me here for lunch last week. The restaurant staff were very friendly and greeted us with a smile. The restaurant itself is very clean and the bathroom is also very clean and updated. I ordered the side salad with ranch and it was fresh. I asked the staff what the most popular item was and they suggested the Reuben and I'm so glad they did. It was very generous on the corned beef, and had the perfect ratios of sauerkraut and thousand island. The sandwich was neatly made so it was also easy to eat. Toasted perfectly, too. Will return to this eatery on future lunch breaks to try their other items! read more
