My wedding dress was inexpensive and purchased off the rack, so I didn't want to spend a thousand dollars to tailor a $400 dress. Finding a tailor who is professional and skilled enough to trust with a wedding dress but who also understands the situation I was in was very difficult. Most other bridal tailors I consulted were very dismissive of the fact that I had purchased a $400 dress. She worked on my dress for a month and it turned out perfect. I had to get it hemmed, shorten the straps & take in the circumference but she had to remove all the appliqué and reapply which was a lot of work. I went to Linda for my wedding dress in October 2021, I needed to add removable straps and get it bustled. She did an amazing job. Was she upfront about the challenges , yes. But she still did what I wanted to be done. Not sure why those people are saying she was so rude. She was able to accommodate me three weeks before my wedding and have it ready a week before my wedding date. Really wish I could leave 0 stars but I'm hoping this review will keep others from being basically assaulted. When I dropped off two dresses she rushed while pinning me complaining that she has no time. While rushing she incorrectly pinned the dress while stabbing me with pins at least 5 times. When I came to pick up the dresses (shocker) the one she worked on fit me worse than when I dropped it off due to poor fitting and work! It has random dimples and is poorly sewn. What a waste of an expensive dress. My 2nd dress I dropped off had not been touched by her at all. When I politely asked her why she didn't touch it she yelled at me that she had. She then said she would then fix it while I was there. Once again she rushed and stabbed me with pins. The worst part is she was so angry that she grabbed me by my shoulder forcefully and ripped off the dress off my back in the middle of her store and left me nude! When I tried to cover myself she yelled at me again and said "no one is here to see anyway!" Not only did she ruin my dresses she forcefully ripped my clothes off and sent me home crying. I really hope this saves some people and they find someone who isn't abusive like Linda. read more

This places deserves a poor review. Even almost 3 years later after I had my dress altered here. Wedding planning is stressful enough, so not add to it or put yourself through the trauma if having a rude woman who doesn't even do a good job with one of the most important things you'll ever wear. Please. She is rude. She is not on time. I still remember going back for my first "fitting" after it was suppose to have been altered and she hadn't even started on my dress yet! It was there a month and she didn't even start!!! Long story short I ended up having to go to a different tailor 2 days my wedding who saved the day. Please please do not go to this lady. Linda (may be) good at altering, but she is very rude! She rips the cloths out of your hand and screams at you. She looks very irritated and she takes it out on her clients. She makes rude remarks and keeps saying "stop doing this, don't stand here, move over here" Also when she goes back to her little room she always talks about the clients, and says bad things in her language, she didn't realize I could understand. That's when I thought that's it, I'm never coming here again. I don't know how she got 5 stars from anyone, maybe it's her family and friends. I DO NOT recommend!!!! Simply the best. After the wedding dress store (which I will not name), ordered the wrong size wedding dress for me, they immediately sent me to Linda. Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed but Linda has a level of experience that could calm a hurricane. When I picked up the dress two weeks later, it fit perfectly. This wedding dress has some special Low-Cut lace design in the chest area, but I don't want to exposure too much. I have been told by many seamstress that the only way to fix it is adding some other material to cover it up. But adding any other kinds of lace will destroy the original design. And Linda is the one saved my big day! She cut a small part of lace from the cap sleeve, and added the piece on the chest area! I've come here a few times. Tiny place tucked into a mini alley on Robertson (so plenty of street parking). It's owned by the sweetest woman. I've had just a handful of dresses taken in, as well as a few pairs of jeans hemmed here. They're pretty flexible when it comes to timelines, and easy alterations have been finished for me in a day. Since they're so reasonably priced, I usually give them a little extra cash because they're so nice. They're old school seamstresses, so I feel that it's appropriate. You can trust them with delicates! $25 for my denim hem I think, and around the same (give or take) for simple dress hems. read more

If I could give this place a zero I would. On the phone the woman told us that she could alter any dress even if I couldn't be there in person. My boyfriend went in and as soon as he came in the sweet woman on the phone was gone. She was so mean and complained that the dress was wrinkled even though it was new out of the bag. How is that an issue? Then she wouldn't even alter the waist. She threw it back at my boyfriend and walked away. My boyfriend said if she could take it in at the waist a couple inches. SO its basically 2 for 1 compared to other places. I had my expensive jeans and a handful of slacks customized to fit me like a glove. Linda is rude and charges an arm and a leg. I purchased my gown from Winnie Couture and took it to Linda as recommended for the alterations. I was honestly 100% disappointed with her work. The dress was returned to me extremely dirty and not finished. In the initial meet we discussed what needed to be fixed, therefore her quote reflected the work. Well when I went in to pick up my gown the work was not done so she gave me a $50 discount. My total went from $400 to $350. I don't mind paying for good work, at this point I had already spent $7000 on my gown so $400 did not seem that bad. However, I refuse to pay for services not completed. On top of that just as I mentioned my gown was dirty! When I told Linda there was no way I was paying more than $300 she became really rude and aggressive. My experience here was horrible. read more

In summary, I expected much more from a tailor in Beverly Hills with such great reviews. I honestly was very disappointed with the alterations that I received here. I brought in 3 skirts and a dress that I needed altered bc I lost weight and they were too big on me. I know nothing about tailoring, so I wanted to go somewhere I could trust to handle what I consider to be a fairly basic job. I went to Linda's based on the reviews on yelp, and the service provided did not live up to my expectations. Maybe I did not give her enough or clear/specific enough instructions, but again, since I know nothing about tailoring, I assumed she would know what to do with some simple skirt alterations. When I came in to pick up my things, two of my skirts were so tight I could barely squeeze into them. Instead of taking in the waist, she adjusted the hips so that they were skintight and completely inappropriate for work. I will give her this- she let them out immediately as I waited. I wore one to work the following Monday, and it was still uncomfortably tight. I just wore the second one today and it's still too tight to be worn comfortably, and the waist is considerably baggy. I have a pear shaped body, so I prefer a fitted waist and looser along the hips. Still, it's a stretchy fabric and she said it would give, so I thought it could be okay. I tried stretching it out a little on my own by squatting, and the whole back slit ripped upwards. This was one of my favorite skirts and now it's basically unusable. I don't know if she left enough material along the sides for it to be salvaged. Now I need to find a new tailor who might be able to repair this mess. read more

After reading about all these glowing reviews on yelp, I decided to bring my bridesmaid dress here for alterations. And she didn't disappoint! When a bride tells you to get a dress, you get it. The problem was it was on clearance and only had select sizes in stock. I was able to get my size; but when I got it in the mail, it turns out they run very small and long. I needed a bigger dress and I needed a few inches off the bottom. So, I went to Linda for help. She was very professional. When I put on the dress, she knew immediately what needed to be done. She's confident and she gives off that air of "I know what I'm doing, trust me." And trust her I did. She added a corset back and hemmed all 5 layers of tulle. Bonus: the dress was ready in a week! Her price was reasonable for the work she put into it. I tried it on again after the alternations and it was perfect! Needless to say, I am very happy with her work. Would not trust anyone else with my wedding dress. You search for months, spend a LOT of money and worship your wedding dress. And then, when you pick it up weeks before the big day, it doesn't quite fit right. I was terrified about sending it off to someone to snip it here and cut it there. Who could I possibly trust with that task!? My designer recommended Linda's Couture and she is nothing short of amazing. A modest shop on Robertson but the results are stellar. I walked in, put my dress on and immediately she said "We'll fix this, we'll take this in, and it's too big here." I didn't even need to say a word. 15 minutes later, I was off to work. The best part? It was ready in two weeks. And that's the standard turnaround time! Can you imagine if you needed it rushed? She's fast. I picked it up this morning and the dress was PERFECT. It fit beautifully. Again, 15 minutes, I had it on, loved it and it was back in the bag and I was off to work. And Linda even did extras. She replaced the hook/eye with a "prettier one to match the dress" and she moved those pesky hangar straps that always pop out when you move around so they're lower in the dress now. Above and beyond. One less thing to worry about and now my dress is safely in my possession. Her prices are beyond reasonable and her service is incredible. When I picked up my dress from Winnie Couture, I was in tears. The appliqué that was supposed to blend the top & bottom of my dress together was asymmetrical and crooked. The dress was 4-5 inches too large and nothing like I imagined. Winnie Couture sent me to Linda, and she was a life saver. She removed the asymmetrical part of the appliqué and completely redesigned it. She made the dress fit and found a way to bustle it that looks very beautiful and hides the hooks. The dress is now exactly what I wanted and looks stunning!! None of this would be possible without Linda. I took my wedding gown to get altered by Linda and I couldn't be happier with her work! First of all, Linda is an absolute pleasure to work with. She knows how to listen to your concerns and provide suggestions. I had 2-fittings with her and on my 3rd visit, I was able to take my dress home for my wedding! It fits like a glove and she is the most amazing seamstress ever! My mermaid gown was originally too tight at the knees and it was hard to walk, and my waist portion was way too big. The first round consisted of her sewing button onto my removable straps, taking the dress in, and letting out the seams at my knees. She is magical, and on my 2nd round all we had to do was shorten the hem. My 3rd visit had a minor fix to my straps which she literally fixed in SECONDS with needle/thread and showed me how to pin-up the bottom of my gown during the reception. I highly recommend Linda for all of your complicated seamstress needs because I am 100% confident that Linda will be able to create you the garment of your dreams!
