LOVE this place. I brought in my 1994 Land Rover Discovery 1 for some work. Was it expensive? Yeah...but it needed a lot. And Dennis was VERY upfront about it. Came to find out we were in Baghdad around the same time, & I can tell you if he can work in those conditions, he can work miracles here. My D1 made it all the way to Delaware, and will be back this summer. Honest, fair, and old school. Welp I'm finally writing this post after having thought about it a lot. I don't write too many low reviews, unless the experience is really troublesome or I feel that the business is taking advantage or disrespecting the customer. And so here we are. To preface this, I had good experiences with the owner Dennis, and the other mechanics. But the rest of the experience was less than stellar. To summarize the details of my experience, I had a sprinter van that I brought here on January 7th to be inspected before I sold it. I brought it by for a pre purchase inspection, and the day the inspection happened they were unable to start the van. Apparently one of the starter sensors (Skreem module) was dead. So they had to replace it before the inspection could take place. This was unforeseen, and $1,000 so obviously I was taken aback, and had to think about things for a little. Within a few days I let them know that they could work on it. After working on it for about a month they came back with the pre purchase inspection on February 4th. There was a laundry list of problems they came back with which I was again surprised by, and so I had to reconsider some things, especially as I was looking to sell the van very soon. I left the van at their shop, thinking it was fine to leave it there because I was never asked to bring the van home. After 3 weeks waiting to decide, I decided on what work I wanted to be done around February 21st. During this period between the 4th and 21st, the van was parked outside at their shop. Now here's where the problems started. After I approved the work to be done, I was ready to sell the van, and eager to have it back. The estimated time that the van would be ready was first 3 days. Then 1 week, then 2 weeks. And this wasn't communicated well to me, as I would have to follow up with Scotti, and would receive no word from her as to what the updates were. This was especially frustrating as I had to reschedule with potential buyers 2 times on the day of. Then finally when the van is all "ready", I showed up at 3:30 pm to find that the windshield was cracked, one of the wide angle mirrors was missing from the van, and the passenger seat cushion was no longer locked onto the seat frame. I was shocked, but was doing a showing, so I finished the showing and let Linden know immediately after. It was around 4:45 on a Friday that I went into the shop and told Scotti about the problems, to which she responded we can sort it out on Monday of the next week. When I followed up on Monday on the phone she told me that the windshield was broken and the mirror was missing when the van got there. Nope, just not true, I obviously knew the condition of the van since I was selling it. Then we hung up and talked about future steps over email. The email attached below was the response. She referenced that they are not liable, and on the phone she was clear that it was my fault for leaving the van there for so long. Ok, well that's shitty, but sure, okay. What about the seat? She said that their technicians were only in the seat for a few minutes on the test drive... well plenty of things can happen in that time!! What I would have wanted was for them to offer to look into things, or to maybe take out a claim with their garage keepers insurance, but they wanted to take no liability for this. On top of this, Scotti was very hard to get ahold of and would say she'd get back to me and then never call. Lastly, when it was all said and done I gave them $1,800 for two jobs - fixing the Skreem module, and replacing the glow plugs. After this was done, I did my research and found that they charged nearly double to triple on parts. Well that's not good to customers! I attached the bill and the parts online below where it references these prices. The redeeming qualities I can say about Linden are that they did replace my wide angle mirror, and the mechanics and Dennis were always nice whenever I came in. So here I am, out $1,800, with a cracked windshield, a missing mirror, and a messed up seat, feeling like a dope. Whatever... The good news is that this shop has a lot of people who feel the way I do, and I would recommend the 2 other sprinter mechanics in Denver far over Linden. 1 star for Scotti 5 stars for the mechanics and the work they did 2 stars for the prices, And 1 star for the communication read more

I recently had work done with this shop. I have worked with all the other shops in town and been highly disappointed. This is the only shop worth taking your vehicle if you have a Sprinter. For sure Dennis is the most knowledgeable Sprinter mechanic in the Denver area and his employees are also very astute. What I particularly liked is the atmosphere. This place is all business and gets the work done without the fluff. They are fair in price and quick in their work. I hope I do not need to return for repair work soon now that the van is fixed. However, this is the only place I will call the next time I need my van fixed. read more

My high-mileage Sprinter has been in and out of Mercedes dealerships for the past 8 months. Mostly emissions issues. The dealers have all proclaimed "you are fixed up and ready to go". A day or two later, oil leaks, check engine lights, limp mode, fuel leaks, etc. I finally brought it into Linden Automotive, and this is the first time I haven't had a check engine light come on or other issues after a service visit. I'm 1600 miles past my Linden appointment, and grateful to be able to trust the van again. read more

I can't say enough good things about this shop and the mechanics. I've been working with Dennis and he's bent over backward to help me through some mechanical problems while traveling across the country in my Sprinter. I was stuck in a small town on Sunday with a check engine light on not knowing if I should proceed or not. All I had was a check engine code and a whole bunch of stress. Dennis took multiple calls ON HIS DAY OFF to help me. Not only that, but he was also very friendly and excited to offer his help. My one-time experience with Mercedes recommended maintainence on my Sprinter at LinDen Automotive: PROs °Needed to schedule well in advance..no problem as this is generally a sign of a thriving business °Estimate for specific service recommendation was given over the phone and generally consistent with the going price °Work was completed quickly and efficiently CONs °Invoice during checkout was NEARLY TWICE the price quoted over the phone despite there being nothing added. On the positive side, I raised this issue immediately upon seeing the invoice and the price was reduced to the previously agreed amount on the spot. °The place is a complete mess. Although this is often the case with good mechanics, I have a personal issue with this level of disorganization UNRESOLVED/NEUTRAL °I cannot address the overall quality of LidDens expertise working with Sprinters given my work order. They did give me a good referral to work on an alignment issue I had but could not do the work themselves BOTTOM LINE Make sure you know the going rate for any specific work you need or scheduled maintainence (easy to Google given the large number of Sprinters out there). THIS IS NOT A SERVICE REVIEW. i am currently in the market for a sprinter. i read some good reviews online about dennis so i e-mailed the shop asking some questions and if they did ppi's. 2 weeks later, no response. i decided to call. a nice lady picked up the phone. i told her i had some questions about sprinters and she had me hold. dennis picked up and asked me about the vehicle of choice. i told him i wanted him to do a ppi, but i also wanted to know what questions i should ask the owner. he then went off for about 10 minutes regarding a few details. he seemed really passionate about sprinters, gave me honest opinions about them. he knew there is the potential that i would not go there, but he still gave me time during his day for some advice, that stuff doesn't go unnoticed. sad to see some bad reviews here. makes me a bit nervous tbh. i've had experiences with shops keeping my car for much longer than expected. hope this stuff is figured out by august when i pay him a visit! read more

If you own a Mercedes Sprinter I would highly recommend going elsewhere. I asked Dennis and his team to install a Webasto heater in my van and have had nothing but difficulties since. He charged me almost $700 more than other shops locally quoted me but I wanted to support a local Golden shop. After the install the heater was not heating the cabin of the van. I called Webasto and sent them pictures of the installation and they recommended I NOT use the heater because of the risk of CO2 poisoning. When I brought it back to Dennis he was irate and belligerent. He reluctantly repaired the botched install. two weeks after the second installation I am prepping for a trip to Wyoming and yes, my heater is NOT working and my battery array is losing power abnormally. I now have to go elsewhere to finish the installation because Dennis will not return phone calls. The communication from the staff is as though you are imposing on them when you call. The shop is filthy and unorganized. Dangerously incompetent, expensive, and slow. Not a good combination. Multiple phone calls not returned. I would avoid this place. read more

We love this shop! A few months ago we bought a Sprinter up in Broomfield and had LinDen do a Pre-Purchase inspection for us. They were super honest and up front about the condition of the van. We had done a pre-purchase inspection with a different shop earlier that month on a different van and they completely took advantage, with a HUGE list of stuff that probably didn't need to be done. Now that we live locally in Colorado, we're thrilled to have LinDen just up the road. In the future, we will go out of our way to come here for service, even while traveling full time on the road. The service is consistent, honest, friendly and reasonably priced. We plan to live in our Sprinter Van for a few years and having a quality and trustworthy shop is invaluable. read more

Linda and Dennis always treated me fairly and helped me keep my truck on the road without breaking my small bank account. read more

As uncomfortable as this makes me, I have to share my experience. Hired to do a 1 week oil pick-up tube replacement and ended up taking 2.5 months and destroying a lot of parts along the way. The quality of work was a nightmare. They had to pull the engine 3 times because they didn't get it right the first two times. Charged me over $700 for allegedly repairing the main wiring harness. New, unmolested harnesses are $500. It never did run right after that. Replaced the $700 crap job with a $250 harness from a junk yard and the truck runs much better. He kept getting defensive saying that he's got all this experience, and that his shop has been open for X# of years and even told me that I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to these engines. I now know that all that "experience" was worthless because he hired students who had never EVER worked on this type of a diesel engine before. They were not certified and certainly not qualified in any way to work on this vehicle. They made such a mess you just can't imagine. If that wasn't bad enough, here's a nightmare list of side issues caused by this shop. All realized AFTER paying for the service and fixed on my own: Coolant reservoir empty when I picked the vehicle up. Hood so poorly aligned that it would not latch. They just left it sitting there, unlatched for me to figure out before I drove away, I guess. Starter wire sandwiched between motor mount and crossmember. Caused an arc that almost burned the truck down. This burned out the starter solenoid. I needed to buy a new starter. Found that the nut on the trigger wire on the starter was overtightened and stripped threads and just left there. Finger tight wiring to the glow plug relay. Caused a short and burned wires. Finger tight wiring harness to the alternator. Caused a short and burned the terminal on the starter right off, ruined it. Loose clamp on the intake. Finger tight nut on one exhaust up pipe clamp. One finger tight transmission-to-engine bolt. Wiring harness work for $700 made for a heaping mess that left wires going places they shouldn't and a wad of excess wire in the valley, I had to remove it completely. Bent oil plan corner from prying with screwdriver and just leaving it that way with a .25" gap, leaking all over. They repaired it with gobs of sealant, that still leaks to this day. Scratches on the roof where they set the hood and left it there for weeks and weeks. Scuffs on the fenders from dirty and oily mechanics jumpers rubbing on it without using fender guards. Surface rust on steel parts under driver's side valve cover, probably from allowing the engine to be exposed to rain while disassembled. Valve Covers tightened way out of spec, resulting in crushing the expensive and new valve cover gaskets and allowing lots of oil to leak out of the engine on both sides. The bolts were so tight that it seemed as though an impact wrench may have been used! Valve covers deformed and dented from hasty removal of engine and lack of care. Oil pan bottom badly dented and scratched down to metal from hasty removal and lack of care, resulting in rust. I'll have to repaint it to save the pan. My advice is that you really should initially judge this book by it's cover and make your choice before even walking in. I wish I did. The lot is completely covered in broken vehicles, parts, bolts, grease, and bits and pieces. What you will find, and I saw it with other customers, is difficulty having a conversation with Dennis, the owner. I really want to like him, and I'm far more forgiving and accepting than most people. But, he doesn't listen when you talk and you literally have to walk behind him, trying to talk, as he is walking away - every time. "The customer is always right" isn't something I believe in, but I do believe in at least pausing for a moment to discuss a current or future project with listening ears, and maybe even a smile. Because of this problem, several things that I asked for, or advised on didn't get translated to the children who were wrenching on the truck. It's important to know that the kids that worked on my truck were fired and no longer work there, and that alone should improve the overall quality of work, though some of the above issues occured after the staff change. This was a harsh situation for the shop as well. None of us feel good about it. I'm just one customer and that was my experience, but of course I'm sure he has many satisfied customers. My trust has been broken so I personally wouldn't trust the shop to change my oil. The vehicle is an F250 with the 7.3L powerstroke engine. In over 10 years, I have NEVER hired a shop to do the work that I could do myself. The one time I break down and hire a shop I ended up really, really regretting it. Might sound like a harsh review, but this is exactly what happened, and I shouldn't feel compelled to feel good about it. read more

I took my Ural there in 2008 for repair. I saw multiple other old Urals there for work, which gave me a warm and fuzzy about the shop. After speaking with owner, Dennis, he assured me they could rebuild the engine, but parts might be an issue. After he disassembled the bike, he said he needed rings and pistons but was having issues getting them. Every time I stopped by, the bike minus the engine, was sitting outside uncovered. Dennis was having issues getting parts, and bought a whole bike for spares from EBay to see what he could salvage. Well, it is now December 2011 and I can't get him to call me back, and every time I stop by the place appears closed. I cannot recommend this place, at least for Urals. read more

My experience with LinDen Automotive was a mixed bag. On the plus side, I think they have some of if not the best Sprinter mechanics around, with a shout out to Devlin, Andrew and Dylan. I suspect Dennis, one of the owners, is also a very capable mechanic in his own right. Frankly, if you have an unsolvable mechanical problem with a Sprinter, regardless of branding, this is probably THE place to take it. Unfortunately, the minuses are pretty big. They don't work on short order, so I had to set up my appointment weeks ahead of time. I did so by going to the shop and asking to walk through the work to be done, which included a heater, engine block heater and auxiliary battery install, so they would have time to find the battery and heaters and get them to the shop before I left the van for two weeks, and so we could work out any problems ahead of time. Instead, they refused to discuss the work until the day I dropped off the van, and even then refused to give me an estimate. These proved to be big issues. Despite multiple calls, when I returned two weeks later to pick up my van, I found that the work on the battery and the heaters hadn't even started. This left me without my van for an additional week, which was an unnecessary hardship considering the lead time I'd given them and that I'd already left it for two weeks. And when I did pick it up, the office hadn't shared the detailed list I had left for the mechanics, so some of the little things were still undone. And they hadn't even started on the engine heater, which nobody had informed the mechanics about. The big shock was the cost. The total bill (mostly the heater and battery install) came to nearly $7000, including $1400 just to fabricate a metal cage to mount the battery under the van. Had I known it was going to be anywhere near that amount, I definitely would have reconsidered my options. I expressed my dissatisfaction to owners Linda and Dennis, and as I left Dennis offered to install the engine block heater the next day (Saturday). Frankly, by that time I was pretty fed up with the whole affair, and considering the bill I had just paid, I couldn't imagine how much the engine heater install would cost on top of that. Here's the kicker. I posted this review shortly after my experience with LinDen Automotive. About a week later, it had been taken down (Not cool, Yelp). I worked hard to make my review fair and honest, (you be the judge) and to give people a good idea of what to expect from this company. Yet LinDen never contacted me to discuss my review, and its disappearance makes me wonder how many other reviews been erased. I think their action says a lot about their business practices. To summarize, these are probably some of the best Sprinter mechanics around, and it's nice to get quality work from mechanics who don't care if you van is a Mercedes, Dodge, or Freightliner. The minus is that they don't seem to do timely work, the office can be very difficult to work with, doesn't seem to do estimates or discuss cost up front, and doesn't do well conveying the work orders to the mechanics. As for the "appearance" of the shop.. Come on! This is a MECHANIC shop! If you want to have no oil spills try going to a dealer.. This place is amazing. During a trip from California to Colorado I had an issue with my Winnebago View (Sprinter drive train) losing power. I limped it to Linden and Dennis went above and beyond to get me back on the road. He even drove it personally to the Mercedes dealership for some warranty work because it was too heavy for the tow truck. While it was there I had them to the 20k mile service. I had a serious problem with my Ural. It had multiple failures in the drive train and would not even roll. Dennis took a look to determine the causess of the failure at noon on a Friday. I rode away at 4:00 on Saturday. In this time he and Armondo (great person) took the shaft and u-joint out and repaired them, welded the swing arm, rebuilt the rear end ring and pinion gears and got it all back together so I could continue my trip. Dennis and Lin are both very customer focused and communicated openly and honestly the whole time. They all stayed on the job all day Saturday even though they were supposed to close at noon. Bipolar experience. Sometimes he was cool and would clear codes on my 2000 Disco II, once I dropped off my truck for a repair and didn't hear from him for a whole week. Got rid of the rumble-strip noise and harsh shuttering my Sprinter had and fixed a power steering issue. It wasn't cheap, but nothing is with these vans, and there are few shops even able to do these repairs. It took 4 days, very fast considering the work involved. read more

This is a revised rating. First experience in summer of 2016 was solid. Dennis and his crew took good care of us. This last time, however, I made an appointment in advance and dropped off our very unique unimog rig. Six weeks went by and was told they wouldn't work on it anymore. Come and get it. In that time, they did nothing. And charged us accordingly - nothing. While I was waiting for them to locate the keys, it was clear to me that they have deep mechanical skills, but the shop's lack of organization is hampering day to day operations. No ill will on our part, just disappointment at waiting six weeks for no reason. read more

Try Junk Yard, Had my sprinter there for almost 5 months, the first time they fixed the engine on my sprinter it blew 3 miles away, 2nd time they blew my engine it was right in the shop, 3rd time they had some sob story about how the engine they ordered didn't come, Finally I took my Sprinter to Mercedes of Westminster and got the engine swapped, and it was a battle to get all my money back, not to mention the long list of parts that were missing and the $3000 worth of body work i needed to do after they dented and scraped it from every angle!!! This place is the greatest! Got my Sprinter running like new in no time. Needed an engine rebuild and it runs like a champ now. The break light was on and a local dealer had tried three times to repair and Linden found the problem and repaired it and no problem since. The Sprinter had a vibration in it and the Mercedes dealer said I needed a new torque converter. Linden found the real problem and repaired the transmission with a simple repair and it works great now. I can't say enough great things about these folks. Give them a try. read more

We had an exchange student bring her car in to Linden Automotive. They quoted her $900 for a starter and negative ground wire ( 2 other Golden mechanics quoted us under $350 for everything). When we declined service, they said there was a nonrefundable $130 diagnosis fee. What a scam. I have never in my life seen crooks like Linden take advantage of a female foreigner in such a way. Avoid this mechanic at all costs, there are better Golden mechanics practically anywhere you look in the city. read more

I had my Sprinter van repaired by Dennis. He installed a rebuilt part that failed after six starts and left me stranded in the desert. After sending him the fault part, I made several calls and sent emails but have not gotten a return response. It has been three months with no further communication. I can't believe they installed rebuilt parts that are not warrantied or at least warranty their work. I would not recommend them for any repair work. read more

Dennis should stick to giving out free advise on the forums, his depth of knowledge is impressive, his execution of service is abysmal. The first clue as to not leaving a Mercedes in his care is the shop itself. I have owned many Euro cars and am used to a certain level of cleanliness and organization, LE has none of this, the place looks a junkyard and lousy one at that, grease, parts, trash, cars in various states of abandonment etc, the office/waiting area is equally disgusting and I felt really bad for a traveling couple that had to sit and wait in that place for god only knows how long. I took my 08 MB Sprinter in with high hopes and expectations, if anyone has a Sprinter and spent anytime on the forums then they have read Dennis's posts, he offers advise and has no problem going into depth about it, again, this is where his value stops. I spoke with him at length (this is the only time he will willingly speak with you, to get your business) before bringing my Sprinter to him, he sales himself and his services very well, he assured me that his inspection process is the best in the business and safety is his top concern. I pride myself on a good bullshit detector and he pulled one over on me, he promised a speedy turn around on the diagnosis and safety inspection, 3 days later and absolutely no communication is not speedy nor the sign of anything good to come, he then said I needed a new computer and that my only choices were the dealership or sourcing a used one and sending it to a company in Oregon, I chose the later as the cost of the computer was damn near what I paid for the van itself, slight exaggeration but they are not cheap. So I sourced a preowned unit and I was charged another $400 for overnight shipping and processing of the computer and was told it would be ready by weeks end, long story short it took over a month to get my van back. Dennis never replied to nor reached out to me the entire time he had my van, the service manager John is a joke and rude, on top of this I had the pleasure of Dennis yelling at me so loudly and abusively that my wife heard him across the parking lot sitting in the car with the windows up and A/C on, she later told me she thought it was odd that he would yell at an employee in front of a customer then was horrified to find out it was me. The reason for this yelling, I had the audacity to come to his shop 2 hours away from where I live and ask him why my vehicle was not done and why there was zero communication, going in person was my only way of finding out that my van was torn apart and nothing had been done. When I finally did get my van back he had left all four of the rear bolts undone which caused my reared to lock up nearly getting me in an accident and another $2800 in damages. The initial work performed was subpar and he took it upon himself to do things nowhere near relevant to what I had asked, and again on top of it the pride of his service his "safety inspection" nearly got me in an accident. Sorry for the long post but there is no way to properly convey the disgust I have for this man or his shop. I wish I could give this post negative stars!! read more
